"Not that into the movie?" Robby asked getting his eyes off that stupid movie, that did nothing to him except reminding him that his father didn't want him now and never did.
"No it's fine" tory said getting her eyes off the car window, that she kept watching from since she got into that car "i just had a shitty day" she continued this time looking at him to prove the point.
"I would ask, but...it's none of my bussiness" he said doing a reference that they had that morning where he asked her about her new job and she said that it wasn't his business.
She smiled at him. That was a real smile of Tory Nichols, not a stupid forced fake smile that she wears every single day.
They both turned their heads at the movie watching a few seconds of it before tory brings up another conversation.
She actually liked talking with him, and this was strange for someone who never liked talking with anyone before.
She didn't realise it at the time, but she trusted Robby since the very beginning. Of course she will never admit it, but between her and robby there is and always had been a type of feeling that goes away from people's mind and souls.
Kyler once told her that her and robby were soulmates.
"What a bullshit" she thought at the time, and she still kinda does to be honest. But maybe, and just maybe, kyler wasn't all that wrong.
"Hey uhm...i'm sorry for this morning" she said then.
He turned her head at her again.
"It doesn't matter don't worry" he smiled, but this time she didn't smile back.
"I don't even know you that much and i'm mean with you every single day"
She really wanted to know more about him. She liked to see him as her enemy after everything that he had done, but in the very hidden place of her soul, she wanted them to be friends.
But how can you be friends with someone that you know all that little about.
"I'm just saying that maybe we should try to know the other a little more" she said smiling a little.
"That means??" He asked confused.
Sometimes, better say almost always, it was difficult for robby to understand what was in Tory's head.
One hour she wanted to kill him, the next one she wanted them to be friends.
Oh and she was so complicated.
Robby, back in miyagi-do, though that the most complicated person in this world, that could say such complicated stuff, was Demetri.
But after knowing Tory Nichols, he was 100% sure that she took demetri's place.
"Well...we should at least know something about the other..." when she saw his confused face she kept going "i mean...all i know about you is that you trained in miyagi-do, dated sam and now you're training in cobra kai"
"This describes me very well" he said ready to ignore her for the rest of the night.
Why was she ever trying to be his friend.
And robby though that she knew already enough about him. He thought that everyone in that stupid dojo did.
Was she trying to know more about him so she could use this informations about him in case she had to hurt him? She def was. Or at least, that's what he though.
Or maybe she had being forced by kreese to talk with him since robby basically had just joined cobra kai.
Well, all he knew was that she def didn't want to talk with him.
That's why he didn't even tried to get an answer to all the things she was saying.
"Maybe we should tell the other more personal stuff" she suggested.
"Like what?"
He really wanted to tell her that it wasn't her business, just like she does with him every single day. He really wanted to push her away everytime that she was trying to get to know him, just like she does every day with him.
But he wasn't that cruel. And he never will be.
"What's your favorite color?"
"You're asking for to much" he said smiling a little.
"No really...what is it??" She asked seriously.
"Green" he answered "what's yours?"
"Red." She didn't even have to think about it.
"Like hawk's hair?"
"No ew never. More like roses"
Roses? Really?
Fine. That's the conversation. Now robby only hoped that she would leave him alone, and honestly Tory hoped the same thing.
They could and will NEVER be friends.
They have nothing in common. Robby is defence and Tory is offence. And defence and offence never get along.
Look at larusso and johnny. Johnny is offence and daniel is defence and their stupid dojo is falling down.
Robby didn't want to talk with tory and he was pretty sure she didn't want to talk with him as well.
But they both knew that they had so much more to talk about before actually knowing eachothers.
Oh, and he really wanted to tell her that. He wanted to hurt her just like she hurted him every single day.
And she wanted to hurt him aswell. Fuck she couldn't even wait.
Who was gonna strike first and tell the other that they can't and will never be friend?
Well, robby was tired of getting punches.
"Tory look...this isn't going to change anything. We are not going to become friends only after some stupid talki..."
"Victoria" she stopped him.
"What??" He was confused.
"My actually name. And i refuse to believe that yours is robby, so what is it"
"Robert. Robert swayze keene"
"Swayze??" She asked sarcastically laughing.
"Yep i know, he was an actor of the 80s. My mom's obsessed"
"I understand your mom. Him in dirty dancing is just so great"
"Wait you know dirty dancing?"
"Know it?? I love it"
Okay....maybe they had something in commom. But that doesn't change the fact that they were different in every other thing.
Or at least that's why they though.
"I like your name" robby said after some minutes of silence between the 2.
"Thanks... i like yours too"
She was faking. Robby could recognise when someone was faking.
And Tory Nichols was faking to be interested in anything he was saying, when she was clearly not.
Robby was tired of people playing with his feelings, and he wasn't gonna let Tory Nichols do it.
He wasn't that type of boy anymore, and he wanted to let her know. He needed to let her know.
"Look i know you don't want to actually be my friend or even talk to me, so let me know what the hell do you want?" He said in one breath.
"What do you mean?" She asked confused.
"Don't act confused. I know damn well that all this friendship thing is bullshit"
"It's not. Maybe is just you that you have some fucking trust issues after sam cheated on you"
She said angry.
"Oh i have trust issues after someone cheated on me? I think that's actually you that you're describing" he said.
He wanted to hurt her feelings just like everyone was hurting his every day.
No, wait. He didn't want to hurt her feeling. He wanted her to hurt hers. But he was to dumb to realise it.
He wanted her to say something that cruel to him that it will leave him speechless. He wanted to think about the words that she was going to say every single night regretting everything he had done or said.
He wanted to feel pain again, or he just wanted to feel something?
He wanted to feel pain, because pain was the only thing he knew that it will make him feel the most.
But she didn't want to hurt him. And he didn't want to hurt her.
So when tory nichols didn't reply, all robby now was capable of doing was watching the movie and stay the hell away from tory nichols, or from anyone that had something to do with her.
But when on the way home after a stupid prank that miyagi-do made on cobra kai, robby found his hand holding Tory's one without being capable of letting it go, he realized that if he had to feel, those feelings are gonna be for her.
