The atmosphere in the Three Broomsticks was way too cheerful for what they were there to do. George swallowed harshly as he took a look around. He met Rosmerta's eyes, but looked away quickly. Angelina's hand in the small of his back was what propelled him forward into the pub.
"It's alright, George. We're nearly done."
Her voice was low and comforting, as it always was. She had been by his side through everything. He honestly didn't know how he would have gotten through the last year without her, really.
"George! Angie!"
And there they were. A group of about fifteen people sat right at the back of the pub, away from everyone else. Only half of them were George's family – the rest were with Bill and Fleur as they awaited their baby – but everyone there were now as close as family to him. To them.
When George and Angelina joined them, they were both passed drinks. George stood silently for a while, lost in his thoughts. Angelina's hand never left his back, keeping him steady. When he raised his head, it was to see a group of solemn faces watching him. He raised his glass.
"To Fred."
"To Fred," the others all responded in unison. Raising their glasses, they all drank together.
