Work Text:
I’m sunbathing on the roof of your shitty Toyota Corolla, while you go into the grocery store that’s in the same strip as the liquor store and the Walgreens
I’m sunbathing on the roof of your crappy sedan cause you said I’d bake if I stayed in the car when I was wearing all black, still in my McDonalds polo
I’m sunbathing on the roof of your beat-up little car, because the sun is setting and the sky is turning orange and blue
I’m sunbathing to spite you and because you care
I’m sunbathing because I didn’t want to go to college and because I’m too artsy and reckless for my own good and because I’m so goddamn lost that I think I’m starting to get what poets write about when they say they love being lost
I’m sunbathing because we try to take it one day at a time
I’m sunbathing because when you walk out of the grocery store you’ll see me making a fool of myself and you’ll call me a dumbass and you’ll laugh like I’m going to make sure you always laugh, while I pray to whoever the fuck in the sky will make sure you never get a desk job
