   Summary

   What makes her stay? (This was supposed to be just a "Pike and Number One work out their relationship angst" story, but some of those crazy kids from the Enterprise inserted themselves, and I loved how they did it, because I hadn't had a chance to write them in quite this ensemble fashion before. This is definitely my favorite of all my reboot fics. It's possibly my favorite of all the fics I've done. I hope you like it.)
