Nate is alive.
That is the only thought in Delacy’s mind on the journey away from Dead Man’s Worth. And he’s so happy that his friend came back to life, but he can’t quite process the change. Only an hour ago, he was grieving… and now Nate is here. It’s extremely confusing. And overwhelming.
Combined with the awful pain in his wounded foot, it’s no wonder that Delacy goes quiet, not talking to the others as he wedges himself into the corner of the carriage.
He just cleans Rooster and hunches his shoulders, unable to cope with everything right now.
