Summary
For a split second, Astarion thought he got lucky. He could stand in the sun again, free of the Master who had plagued him for two centuries, his own person for the first time in longer than he could remember. Yet his victory was short lived, reality crashing down like the mindflayer ship around him when he found out that the very tadpole that was protecting his freedom would eventually turn him into something even worse than the monster he already was. Now burdened with more than one type of unwelcome traveling companion, he couldn't help but yearn for a way to make his sun tolerance permanent, and a certain charming bard with unreadable golden eyes might just end up being the key to freedom.
