Work Text:
When Joe checked if the door was locked and found out it was, he saw a chance to impress Nicky. Joe's hope was that if Nicky were thoroughly impressed, Nicky would be on top tonight.
Joe: "Let me, Babe. Your legs are too pretty for kicking doors in."
Nicky: "Well, thank you. Have a go then."
Joe smiled at Nicky before he kicked the door, but the door didn't budge at all.
Joe: "Don't say a word."
Nicky: "I wasn't. All I was doing was admiring your legwork."
Joe kicked the door two more times with the same result as before - the door didn't budge at all.
Nicky: "Now that you have softened the door, could I have a go?"
Joe: "No, no, I got this. It's just being stubborn."
Nicky leaned up at the wall while watching the match between Joe and the door, and it was clear to him who was winning that match.
Nicky: "Not because we aren't in a hurry, but may I suggest something before you break your leg?"
Joe: "Ok, what?"
Nicky: "Use this key card. That way, you win over the door without breaking your leg."
Nicky held up a key card, which Joe took with an annoyed look on his face.
Joe: "Just so that you know it. They aren't building doors like they did in the old days."
Nicky: "I know, Tereso. And between us. I love it when you're trying to impress me."
Nicky kissed Joe, who had gotten his hope of Nicky being on top tonight restored.
Joe: "Thanks. Count down from three. I have a feeling that someone is waiting for us on the other side of the door."
When Nicky had counted down, Joe used the key card, and they entered the room so they could finish their mission: getting the uranium.
