Chapter Text

It was another boring mission for Miles, Gwen, Pravitr, Hobie, and their new friend Shade. They have dealt with A zoo worth of animals that were on some random earth after what seemed forever they were able to get all animals sent to the portal so the spider society. The whole town cheered for them and being very grateful they gave them six tickets to their famous buffet.

“Sweet thanks!” Miles said happy to take the tickets. He passed out each ticket and then left with an extra one.

“So who give the extra one to?” Gwen asked now that they can only invite one more person. They thought they could invite Peter B. but he is a sloppy eater and most like to bring Mayday which they don’t hassle the kind shop owner. Shade thought of someone.

“How about Miguel?”

The Spider-kid’s eyes widen wondering why Shade would suggest that. 

“Uh, Shade, I know been working with us for like a month but Mr. Killjoy is not fun hanging out.” Miles pointed out 

“Nor we ever saw the cocksucker out of the cave eh.” Hobie snicker. Shade just rolls her eyes

“Well, maybe we kill the killjoy and make him enjoy.” Shade chimes even Kuro just rolls her eyes seeing this 

“ Big spider, might not come. More food for us.” Kuro said 

Shade opens the portal to Miguel’s lab 

“Ok, I’ll bet, if I can’t get him to join i’ll do your guys' mission for a week. Deal?”

“Deal!” all four of them said as they head to Miguel’s lab. As entered his lab they saw Miguel looking at all the screens to see what going on. Lyla told them it had been a slow day. Which was great for Shade to try to convince him.

“HHHheeeyyy, Miguel we were wondering-”

“No,” Miguel said so fast before Shade could get the words out. The kids snicker behind her but Shade wasn’t deterred.

“Hey! You didn’t let me finish!”

“Look Shade, I saw what those people gave you, I’m not really a good fit…me plus those types of places don’t mix,” Miguel said no longer looking at the group

“Oh come on! When was the last time you ate a meal? And don’t say empanadas! That not a meal!” Shade point out 

“To you maybe,” Miguel said. All 5 of them noted a trash can was full of empty boxes. Shade was not having this. 

“How about this, if you come with us, we won’t bug you for a week. Right guys?” Shade said the four kids nodded really wanted Miguel to hang out with them. Miguel sighs hearing them begging doesn’t help his case. Soon Miguel gave in.

“Fine, just say I didn’t warn you,” Miguel said as he jumped down from the platform not wanting to deal with going down slowly. None of them knew what Miguel was talking about, but they did care they were happy they got him out of his lab. They teleported back to Earth they were all in and go to the buffet that was busy and full of people. Miles gave the owner the tickets and gave the six a table. 

They went up to the buffet, which looked like a small place, They went in and they all noted that not many people but there was a lot of assortment of foods. Some are unique from this earth others they recognize. One of the waiters came over 

“Ah, you return we see, and brought a guess.” the waiter said as he was eyeing the new Spider-person that joined them. 

“Yea, he is a cranky boss that we got out office for, ey boss?” Hobie said snarkly and Miguel just glared at him. But Hobie paid it no mind. Shade try to defuse the comment

“Yes, I hope you don’t mind.” Shade said 

“No.no. please enjoy yourself we humble all our saviors.” The waiter then leads them to the table. Hobie, Gwen, and Miles sat on one side while Pravitr, Shade and Miguel sat. 

“ Oh boy! oh boy! let eat!” Kuro said as she hopped to on table in her rabbit form.

“Ok! Ok! Just stop hopping on a table! We have table manners remember?” 

“ No, we don’t, ” Kuro said throwing Shade under the bus, the spider kids couldn’t help but giggle. Shade blushes in embarrassment and grabs Kuro which absorbs back into her body. Changing her hair from white to black.

“Come on let's get something to eat.” Shade said getting up and grabbing some food. The rest did the same grabbing a plate and piling on a lot of food. Shade grab four with a lot of food on it. It doesn’t surprise them to see bunch a of food since she eats for two in a way.  Miles and they were a little more surprised that Miguel had two plates full worth of food. Miles figures since Miguel is a big guy. 

The group enjoy their food. Or they would if they didn’t keep staring at Shade and Miguel and how they eat. Shade was eating fast and kind of sloppy. Which is kind of ironic since Kuro behaves. Miguel was eating more manner but still fast that it only took like few minutes to finish both plates. 

“Wow Mile, you were more hungry than we thought. Maybe I should invite you to Mom’s cooking?” Miles joked, Miguel just rolled his eyes. Kuro just smirked

“ Should call fat spider or hog-man?” Kuro mocked giving off a wicked smile and showing off her teeth and fangs. Kuro always tries to mock Miguel, like most symbiotes she hates to lose.

“You know mocking me not going to work. Also. Hobie insult me better.” Miguel with a smug look. Hobie took that as a compliment. Kuro growled, Shade knew what she was about to do. Before she could do anything  Kuro took control of Shade’s body. Shade’s head slams on the table shocking everyone. Miguel was about to check one Shade be for she hopped on the table. Shade's face now has a Glasgow smile and her eyes were white. They knew Kuro had taken control.

“ HAHA! Now I’m in control!” Kuro then pointed at Miguel “ I challenge you to eat off!” Everyone's eyes widened. Miguel raises an eyebrow wondering what Kuro is going on about.

“No and give Shade back her body before making a scene!” Miguel hissed try not to get them in trouble. 

“ Neh! Not tell you agree or…or I’ll eat all your food! Haha!!” 

“Hey, you not eating my food.” Miles grabs his plate and hides it from Kuro. Hobie,Pravtr, and Gwen did the same. Even though they enjoy the fun show.

“Like hell you are! get. down. the. Table. Miguel hissed through his teeth trying not to show off his fangs.

“ NOT TILL YOU AGREE!!” she screamed so loud that all the customers and staff turned to their tables. Miguel started to blush in embarrassment. Shade going to get her mouth full once she gets her body back.

“FINE! Just get off the table before we ban!” Miguel said 

“ Big spider accept my challenge! Our battle shell be legendary!”

-One hour of nonstop eating and questioning if they were the embodiment of gluttony themselves later.

“HAHA! You guys got what!? HAHA!!” Peter B. was laughing his ass off and dying on the floor. Tears were coming down his cheeks.  Both Miguel and Shade had their heads down in shame on the table. Miles, Gwen, Hobie, and Pravitr still had their mouth open in shock, never having Witness's sure gluttony that Miles needed to apologize to Peter and Porker when he get the chance. Jess had her hands on her hip, can’t believe she just bailed her boss and co-worker from that earth. 

“The good news, is you guys are off the hook. Did some talking to the manager and that earth spider-man. Bad news: you guys are all banned from there” Jess said

“Wait! Why are we banned? They the ones went over broad!” Miles said couldn’t believe he and the other spider kids got banned because of  Shade and Miguel.

“Miles. Please shut up.” Miguel muttered still with his head down on the table. 

“ We won with a victory!!” Kuro said as she hopped around the table around Miguel and Shade

“Kuro. you're grounded for a month. No tv and no sweet.” Shade muttered with her head down too

“ Victory, but what cost?” Kuro was grabbed by Miguel, everyone could have sworn they heard squeaky-like noise coming from Kuro.

“Thank you! This fifth time I got banned from the restaurant!” Miguel growled 

“Wait! How many times have you been banned?” Pravitr said. Shade weakly left her head still having a look of shame on her face.

“This is the sixth for us.” Shade cried 

“ Worth it.”

Chapter Text

The mission went south, and Miguel decided to go solo on the mission as the anomaly was on earth 7777. A vulture was spotted and Miguel groaned it was always a vulture he had to deal with. Lyla told him to call back but he refused mainly because he didn’t want to deal with anyone getting hurt because if he went spider mode. Lyla sign told him if things get too ruff for him she going to loophole him. The Spiders kind of got sick of him doing solo missions. 

Miguel just focused on Vulture who was throwing bombs everywhere Miguel was swinging to try to dodge it but one hit him on his side. Causing to crash on a rooftop. The anomaly Vulture saw this opportunity and sky bomb Miguel, Before he could a portal opened up above him. Miguel was able who come out of it was Venomgirl.

Miguel ‘recruited’ her only two months ago. More like he was bullied into recruiting her to join the  Spider-society by Miles and them. Even though she a symbiote variant and not a Spider-person (since her spider-women is evil) Miguel bites and lets join, making her the second non-spider-person to join (the first was 42- Miles). Miguel couldn’t help but groan when he saw her. They didn’t have a good first meet, them going berserk at each other. 

Venomgirl/Shade was on top of the vulture trying to tear up his wings. She tries her best not to kill the variants but kind of hard when you half symbiote and everything becomes a threat. 

“Kuro! Blades!” Shade said commanding Kuro, her symbiote to turn her arms into blades and she slashed off one of the vulture’s wings. The Vulture was enraged as both of them were falling down. He grabbed Shade and hurdled toward Miguel who just got up. Miguel was to catch Shade before she hit the ground not yet able to get the hang of swinging. Before they both can think bombs are set off destroying the roof they were on causing them to fall. Miguel used his webs to catch the Vulture pulling him closer to them as all three fell. 

Once the dust was clear, both Miguel and Shade hissed in pain from the fall, both wishing they had spidey senses. They also noticed that the vulture was out cold which made it easier for them. Miguel just grabbed him and headed to portal not saying thanks to Shade for helping him. Shade just sighed and headed back to the Spider-society to get healed up. As she heads to Medbay she other spiders there but she doesn’t see Miguel which is weird he was pretty banged up too. 

“Hey, Lyla. where Miguel?” Shade asked 

“He is back in his lab. Preferred to heal on his own. Bbbuuuttt, can bring him some supplies to him he is very stubborn in getting help it hasn’t noticed.” Lyla said giving Shade a cheeky smile. Shade nodded as got a medkit she also rather be alone when she healed. Never know when go into feral mode from healing.

Shade head to Miguel’s lab and knock on his door. There was no answer so try again. Still no answer.

“ Maybe he dead?” Kuro said. Shade rolled her eyes but at the same time, she was a little worried. Luckily, Hobie gave her code to sneak in. Shade enters the password and lets herself in. The lab was dark or darker than usual. Shade has very sensitive eyes but damn it was dark. She has some night vision but not that good.

“Uh, Miguel?” Shade called out she didn’t like how dark it was. It makes her go to high alert which is not good when you are injured. She made it to the platform and saw it still sitting on top but no Miguel. She looked higher to see red webbing all over the ceiling and she could barely make out who it was. 

“Miguel?”

“Go away,” Miguel said sounding like he was in pain. Shade saw something dripping from Miguel. She could smell it, it was blood. 

‘He more injured the thought.’ Shade though at the same time told Kuro to make claws so she could climb up to him not caring what he thinks. The last thing she needs is for her boss to die. Miguel saw this and growled at her his eyes were glowing red probably from being injured causing him to be alert too.  She can see his claws are out ready to slash. 

“Hey! Hey! Don’t go feral! Remember the last time.” Shade put her hand up, trying not to growl at Miguel. Miguel remember the last time they fought, wasn’t pretty.

“What are you doing here?”

“You weren’t at Medbay and Lyla said you were here so… just want to drop this off and…” Shade trailed off to see Miguel’s injuries, his side gash open and there were burns on his arms and face. 

“Maybe you should go to medbay. That looks very bad.” 

“You the one to talk,” Miguel said pointing to Shade’s broken arm. Her face also has burns and a gash on her leg. It will take a full day for her to heal. And Kuro is blocking off most of the pain.

“Fine, Mr. stubborn man. At least let bandage you up.” 

“If you want to be helpful just go get my stabilizer. It will help me heal and keep me grounded.” Miguel hissed in pain. Trying to not attack Shade or push her off the webbing nest he made. Shade looks down and expands Kuro to grab the stabilizer guy and a vile. She placed the vile into the gun and tossed it to Miguel. He caught it and shot his neck as he felt the stabilizer effect kick in feeling more calm. 

Shade senses he is much calmer now which is good at least one of them is calmer now. 

“Shade, I’m going to put myself to sleep so you won’t lose it. But you going to feel the pain that I cut you off. Just want to warn you.” Kuro said. Shade nodded as she felt Kuro go to sleep in her. The pain hit her and she had to bite her lower lip to keep from crying. She was used to the pain, she rather be in pain than lose control.

“Let me see your arm.” Shade heard Miguel behind her forgetting he was there for a second.

“I will be fine.”

“And you call me the stubborn one. Let me see.” Miguel then pulled Shade’s arm it was broken alright. For a normal person, it takes them months. Miguel decides to wrap the arm up and make a sling, at least it can be stable and it will take the least time to heal.  After he did that he bandaged up her leg and face. Just as Miguel finished up, hissed forgetting he was injured too. Without saying a word Shade grabbed the medkit wrapped Miguel’s side and bandaged up his face. Shade did say anything but Miguel could look in her eyes and tell she was in pain and that she was about to cry. Shade probably saw the look on his face, kind of surprised he was worried about her.

“I’m fine I’m used to this.”

“Yeah, I know. But…” What surprised her next was that Miguel put his arm around her and brought her closer to him. “You don’t need to. You can let it out if you want to.” Miguel said softly. Shade didn’t want to but she saw tears coming from her. She doesn’t know from the pain in her arm or all she has been holding back. She had been alone for a long time. Even for Spider-people standard. She did know she hugged Miguel back. She tries her best not to squeeze his injured side. Miguel whisperly calls Lyla.

“Lyla can send someone some pain medicine for both of us. And some food?” Lyla just nodded and disappeared without saying a word. Leave the two alone. 

“Just rest here till your arm is healed. Desu?” Miguel said in Shade’s language

Chapter Text

Pt.2 

Miles finish off his mission with Gwen,Hobie,Pravitr and 42-Miles. They were heading to report to Miguel but were stopped by Lyla with her cheeky smile.

“Hey, guys. How are you doing?” 

“Nothing much, were going to Tio’s is like not in the mood?” Miles asked if he and others knew when Miguel’s Spider side was more prone. Miles wonders did something happened. Lyla must read his mind.

“So Miguel and Shade got injured during their mission they just rested. But… I was wondering if you guys could bring them supplies for them. It can help them heal faster.” 

“Sure, we can help with that.” 

“Oh, good man-spider man them food and have some more medicine for them. Go get it and bring it to the lab. Jess, Ben, and Peter are taking over for now.” 

“Ok let's go get the stuff guys.” 

Miles and I head to the cafeteria to get the stuff which is a lot of food for just two people. They head to Miguel’s lab, the hallways that are always dark. Once there they head in there lab Hobie just hacked in, even though they had the code, but Hobie doesn’t believe in consistency. Also, he loves messing with Miguel to force him to make a new code, that Hobie will just be hacked.

As they entered the lab it was dark as usual. They all got used to Miguel’s creepy atmosphere in his lab. Miles really wants to live it up, but Miguel would kill him. They entered an area where the platform is and they saw it was still high up. But Miles saw past it to see a massive red web above it. Everyone groan knowing they have to climb up. 42 really not looking forward it. Since he doesn’t have spider power only gravity shoe that Miguel helps make.  All of them climbed up, 42 had piggybacked on Hobbies. As they made it they noted there like nest in the far corner. 

They didn't see Miguel or Shade on the web. 

“Maybe they left.” Pravtr said as all climbed on web. Miles also wonder the same till he heard a soft snooze coming from the nested. Miles and them carefully look in it to see Miguel and Shade snuggle together like two sleeping cats. They seem to be sleeping judging by Miguel's light snoozing.  Pravitr and Gwen try to keep from squealing about how cute they sleeping on. Hobie, Miles, and 42 want to laugh. The tough, cold, strong, leader and Shade a scary badass, monster of women,  look like a couple of cats snuggling, as they sleep. 

42 poke Miles’s side 

“Hey, I dare you take a picture of them.” 42 joked in a whisper, Miles looked at him with wide eyes.

“What?! Hell no? Miguel going to kill me if he finds out” 

“Let me be honest, that not going to stop you and besides i’ll do your Spanish homework for two weeks is you do, three weeks if do a selfie.” 42 grin know Miles needs that A in that class. Miles side and pulls out his phone. He got in front of the sleeping adults Miles took the picture. But forgot to turn off the flash. Once it went off, both Miguel and Shade jolted wake and rushed out of the nest hole. Both of them were all fours growling at the group of kids with there red glowing eyes, The kids looked like they just woke a pair of bears.  Miles was dragged by Miguel and Shade and is now being pinned by Miguel’s big hand. 

“Hey tío, Hey Shade. Can you get off of me, please?” Miles said as calmly as he could. He practically holding his breath hoping they snap out of it. 

Note to self: Don’t wake up Miguel and Shade.

Miguel and Shade shook their head no longer having killer instincts in their eyes. 

“Miles? What is the Great One-” Shade looks around to see 42. Gwen, Hobie, and Pravitr were also there. Ready to swoop in and help Miles so he doesn’t get mauled.

“Miles, ay dios mío! You know I could of Shocking maul you?!” Miguel said shakly removing his hand from Miles so he no longer pinned down. Miguel and Shade still calming themself down from the adrenaline they had just gotten. 

“W-why you guys here?” Shade asked 

“Uh. Lyla said you guys need more supplies and we brought them.” Gwen held up the bags of stuff.

“ Oh boy! Food!” Kuro slid out of Shade and hopped toward the food grabbed a box and started to eat it. 

“Kuro don’t eat all of it save some for Miguel and the others.” Shade said as sat closer to the group. Miguel and Miles did the same. Gwen passed some food to Miguel and Shade while keeping one so she and the others could just snack on. All of them have nothing better to do and they like hanging out with Miguel and Shade. Mainly they don’t want the two to be alone. 

Kuro sticks her tongue out. “ Hey, bloody pits. Next time you try to wake those two. Maybe not with lights.” Kuro joked 

“Noted.” Miles turns to Miguel “So what happened you guys?” 

Miguel swallowed the food in his mouth. He didn’t realize how hungry he was. 

“Vulture variant, It took us down with his bombs but at least we captured him. I have gotten a nasty gash and burns. Shade got her arm broken and burns too.” Miguel turns to his Shade.

“Your arm better?”

Shade flexed her arm that was broken “It's not broken but I think it now a fracture now. What kind of painkillers was that by the way? I was knocked out and if Miles didn’t wake me up I couldn’t slept the whole day!”

Miguel shrugged “My painkillers are stronger than you guys painkillers. I remember making a nest. It… made me feel better about making it. “ Miguel sighed his spider side was showing once Shade was knocked out from the pill.  His spider side wants to make a nest for them. Miguel couldn’t help but blush as he dragged Shade to his nest. He couldn’t help but like that, he never realized how touched and starved he was. He can go back and cuddle up with her in the nest.

“Well Mr, O’hara we are done with our mission so we just want to make sure ok.” Pravitr said “Also you guys were so cute like a couple of cats” The comment made Shade and Miguel blush harder.

“Yea brov, must finally lose up aye?” Hobie snearked 

“As if, someone needs to keep you kids out of trouble,” Miguel said with a grin. 

“Hey, Miguel maybe teach us how to make a nest like that? It is a cool hangout place.” Miles asked kind of thought it was cool,

“Yeah you should teach us. I can practice with my webbing.” Shade chime in

“First of all, you guys would need strong webbing. Your web-shoot aren’t is designed to last long.”  Miguel said plucking the web to prove a point and pulling out some of his red webbing. “But you guys must know. It is like knitting it is more natural for me since my Spider DNA is more potent. But it is over and under till you get a sturdy foundation. And make sure you pull it tight.” Everyone nodded. Miguel suddenly has the urge to make his webbing bigger, it must be his spider side is still on high alert from the rude awakening from Miles. Shade must pick up on this, then she had an idea.

“How about we make this bigger? Aye?”  everyone looked at her with a confused look. Shade shrugged “What, we can watch the master learn. What you say, Miguel?” 

“Fine, only because you guys going try any way no matter what and Kind what you guys to learn. It might help with your mission.” Miguel relented. Miguel began making the web bigger. Shade and the kids watch Miguel make the web as they hang on the wall to get out of his way. They were all so impressed by how fast he was able to make it.

“ Big spider’s spider really wants to make it bigger,” Kuro said still eating the food. The others nodded. Shortly after the web was bigger and more roomy. Miles and them didn’t feel like they were going to fall off now. 

“Wow tío, you really fast at this.” Miles jumped down onto the web. The other did the same. Miguel just huffed 

“Yeah, it helps my spider instinct to calm down. When i’m hurt, it becomes more potent usually more… violent but as of late it more calmer for the most part.” Miguel said then saw Pravitr crawling towards him. With his puppy dog eyes.

‘ Sweet spiderling’ Miguel’s Spider side hissed in side Miguel was happy when he saw any of the kids. Miguel also but he’ll never will admit it.

“Aawww. Mr. O’Hara you like us don’t you.” Prav joked poking Miguel's side, Miguel rolled his eyes with a smirk. 

“As if. you all of are dolor en mi culo.” 

“ Big spider lying hehe.” Kuro snicker. Shade crawled to him and put her head on his shoulder.

“Yea but sometimes it's good to have someone to kick your ass. It lets you know you are not alone.” 

“Right. Anyway, should all you guys go back to your earth? It’s a school night and skipping school again.” Miguel said to the kids

“Relax, big man we man we did all our homework, I made sure my band's mate did eya.” Hobie said pulling Miles, Gwen, and 42 in for a hug They couldn't help but smile. Shade yawned still tried.

“Let them stay Miguel. It's nice to be around people.” Shade said as began to drift off to sleep. Kuro fused back into her. they both must be tried and also feel the same those pain pills are very strong.

“Fine, you guys can stay. Try not to scare us awake this time?” Miguel said as lay Shade down back in the hole that he made it bigger for everyone but he highly doubted the kids wanted to be in there with them. He struggles in next to Shade not caring what kids think, he too tries to care, even when the kids are giggling.

Miguel woke up again trying to figure out how long he had been out this time. As looks at his watch he sees the Kids also snuggle up with him and Shade which he is surprised they here. He couldn’t help but smile. 

Chapter Text

it has been many months since Miguel quit Alchemax. It's more like he ran away as then essentially handled him as a prisoner in the company. His work on gene splice and Bioengineering was useful for Alachamax, mainly to create a more addictive Rapture drug for King Pin Dana who has an open market for the drug. Her and Tyler try to run the city by making people addicted. Miguel didn’t want any part of it as his goal was to help cure his daughter from Autoimmune syndrome that had been with her plaguing her since she was a baby.

He went into hiding with his daughter as he continued his testing on a cure. He was one step closer to one, as he tested with a number of animals. weirdly enough spiders were the most compatible on the test of the genes. He was almost done setting up the last of the testing before he and his daughter heard an explosion upstairs. Miguel checked the cameras that his brother set up in the hideout and saw that Alachamax goons busted in and have the house surrounded. 

They were nowhere for him or Gabriella to hide. The only place he thought of hiding was the testing pod. Wasn’t the greatest idea, but his options were small. Both he and his daughter hide just as the goon breaks into the basement. They scan around and look at his paper and computer work. Starting to steal data from the computer probably to give to Dana or Tylor. Gabriella whimper trying not to make to much noise but having to hold her breath with not well develop lungs made it harder. A cough split out and one of the goons heard her and at the same time, another goon hit a button that activated the machine that Miguel and Gabriella were in. seeing the machine was about to close on them. Miguel only had enough time to push his daughter out of it before it was completely close.

“Hey! There they are. Stop the machine!”

“I can’t! I’m trying to override it but nothing working!” the goon shouted trying to figure out how to spot him he made the machine go full power with 50% spider DNA still in the system. Miguel never went up to more than 5% he doesn’t know what 50% will do to him. He saw the light glowing brighter and brighter. As he was hit with a ray of gene-spicing energy. He can feel every adom being torn apart and reformed. He screamed in pain wishing for death as it felt forever.

Gabriella could only cry trying to get her father out of the machine as he heard him scream in pain one of the goons grabbed her pulling her away from the machine as they were ordered to bring her in. 

“Shit he shocking dead. Shock! What we do know?!”

“We still got the data and the brat. Let bring her and-”

The screams stop as the machine finishes the process. It opened up with a bellow of smoke coming out of the machine as everyone heard a thud. They saw Miguel weakly crawling from his machine but something was wrong. His skin and a blueish tone to it and he looks very clammy. He was breathing hard and there seemed to be blood coming from his legs. Gabriella tries to help her father but the goon pushes her down and walks over to Miguel.

“He looks like a dead man. Let put out of your me” Before he could finish his sentence a  Spider's leg shot out from Miguel's bleeding leg stabbing the goon in the chest. The goon stumbled back from being stabbed and fell down as comrades watched and stared in shock.

Miguel was processing what was going on his body felt very tight. Like he is suffocating him. He tried to focus on something or someone as he heard a sickly wet rip. He looked down on his leg and saw more skin was me torn from his body as more spider legs came out. He screams in pain as he can feel new bones made where his legs and lower back are. He can feel his body being pulled, stretched, and torn apart even more. He felt like the inside were on fire and his heartbeat was pumping faster than it had ever had before. He looked at his hands as talons tore on the tips of his fingers and the skin around his arm painfully ripped off from him with a sloppy wet noise similar to a wet towel. His new arms were twice as big and his skin was blue with some red blide-like spike coming from the side of the forearms. 

Miguel hugged his body now ripped as many skins off as he could. Feeling the need felt so tight and small. More sickly rip was heard as his legs were replaced by a huge spider's abdomen and spinnerets that were the same color as his arm with a spider-like symbol on his back. He ripped the last of his old skin which was his head and back. His back has spikes going down his spine and his face now has eight red glowing eyes. His teeth fell out to replace with fangs and now chelicerae around his jaws. 

Miguel weakly got up still hazed by his transformation unaware of how monstrous he truly became. Gabriella was shocked and scared of what happened to her father, before she could say anything she saw the goon that her father stabbed earlier weakly trying to get up as he aimed his gun at Miguel. Gabilla saw this and without thinking ran as fast as she could toward him. Miguel saw his daughter run towards as a shot rang out in the room. To Miguel, everything went slow-motion as he saw his daughter, his own flesh and blood collapse on to the floor. Gabilla was shot in the back. 

Miguel rushes to her, trying to pick up and being careful with the new talons he has. She was so much smaller now in his arm. 

“Gabi? Gabi?!” Miguel said checking on her to see if she was breathing or not. I was slow and painful. 

“What the shock is that freak?!” more goons rushed into the basement seeing the 9ft spider creature in front of them. They had the guns pointed at it scared what it might do. 

But Miguel didn’t care. All he cared about was that his daughter was hurt.

They hurt her.

They hurt his spiderling. 

THEY WERE GOING TO PAY.

Everything became blurry to Miguel, the next thing that happened was there was a gunshot all around the room. There were ten men there but they were being torn apart. Some of their insides were drained when Miguel bit into them. The one goon who has the memory card. His leg was injured during the kill frenzy. He managed to almost make it to the upstair door till he was dragged back down. The last thing Goon saw was red eyes that looked down on his prey.

It was another day for Miguel. He was checking to see if anomalies were happening. Missions report, making sure everyone was doing what they were supposed to do. He heard the door open and from sound alone, he knew who it was. 

“Hi, Peter. Did you finally do your report?”

“Yea, Yea, here it is.” Peter handed the report with out Miguel looking. He doesn’t need to look like Peter has a goofy grin on his face. Knowing he about asked a stupid question. 

“Yes, Peter?”

“I was wondering… do you know what day it is?”

“In my Earth… October 13. On a Friday no less.” 

“ got your lucky underwear on?” 

Miguel rolled his eyes and went back to work. 

“Hey, can you meet me in the lobby in an hour? I got something to show you.”

“If it gets you to leave me alone so I can get back to work, fine.” 

Peter let a quiet yes while he ran off. Miguel groans doesn’t know what Peter wants or he planning. For Miguel, it was another day that he had to deal with. 

An hour passed, and the time went by. Miguel groans knowing he has to entertain Peter and join him in the lobby. Head out his lab towards the lobby which was dark, but wouldn’t affect him as entered the lobby a light came on. 

“SURPISED!!!” 

Miguel whisked to see: Peter, Mayday.MJ,Jess, Bem,Hobie, Pravitr,Miles, Miles-42,Gwen, Peni, Margo,Noir, Ham, and others there with party decorations with a big sign saying: Happy Birthday Miguel. Miguel try to figure out how they knew today was his birthday.

“Lyla.” 

“Guilty, I told Peter yesterday. Man, he went to panic and got things together.”

“Yea, You jerk! Why didn’t you tell anyone it's your birthday?!” Peter said as put a birthday hat on Miguel

“Because it's just another day for me. Also I never really had a good Birthday.” Miguel said remembering all the birthdays he had. Mainly it was him and his brother. His mom would make him a small cake while dad just threw him a card with a couple of bucks in it then head off to who knows what. He just didn’t care to celebrate it. He does for others but not himself.

“Come on. Tio. My Mama made a Tres leches for you.” Miles said while 42 Miles elbowed him.

“Ok ok, 42’s Mom made the cake. My mom decorated.” 

Gwen, Margo, and Peni came forward “We help Decorated the place .”

Hobie, Pravitr, Noir, Ben, and Ham walk forward “ We made sure no anomalies were out. At least a cunt like you need a break, right boss.” Hobie said elbow with a smirk. Miguel smirks back. 

“Also, we have something to show you.” Miles pulled him to a wall where a giant wall Mural with spray paint with all the spider- people (or at least as much as Miles could fit) Miguel was impressed that it took Miles a whole day to do this. The kid has talent.

“If you don’t want it i-

“No. No. it is very nice. Thank you Morles. No, thank you all. This is a very nice Birthday.” 

Miles and they went for a group hug on Miguel. Miguel couldn’t help but smile. This was a very good birthday.

“Guy! Guys! Guess what?!” Pavitr said as rush into the lounge where Gwen, Hobie, Miles, and 42-Miles were chilling. Prvitr just came back from a mission helping a Spider-man. Pav was holding a bunch of tickets and jumping up and down like a little kid in a candy store.

“What's up?” Hobbies said as put down his guitar

“So you know I went on a Mission with Spider-man what earth is like in Florida or something? Anyway, He gave me a bunch of tickets to the fair there. Want to go?!” Prav said very excitedly. 

“Cool, we would love to go, right guys?” Miles said as the other three nodded While the group of Kids were talking Shade walked in coming back from her mission. 

“Hey guys, what you all talking about?” Shade asked. then Pav walked up to her and hugged her. Shade likes Pav's affection he gives her. He then shows her ticket and Shade wonders what it is. 

“Hey, Shade! do want to go to the fair with us?” he asked. Shade gave him a confess look at him.

“What a fair?”

The Kids’ eyes widened thinking she joking but from the look, she wasn’t 

“Wait there's no fair on your Earth?” Miles asked 

“No? I mean I think we have something. I just don’t know since I don’t go out a lot. Being a wanted and also being a threat to the public.” 

“Then let's change that! Come on Shade! You need to experience things that never got a chance. And we make sure you don’t hurt anyone. Right guys?” Gwen said while Miles,42, Hobies, and Pav nodded to agree

“I don’t know guys. I mean what if we get a call for mission or Miguel said no.”

“Don’t worry leave that to us.”

“No.” Miguel shut the kids down

“What why?!” Pav said 

“One, it's a school night and not messing school. Two, we're still keeping track of Shade. Her DNA has been stable but we don’t when it react.”

“Then come with us. You can keep an eye out for her and you take a break from looking at all these screens all day.” Miles suggest

“Yea, old man. Take your women out for once.” 42 smirked the kids know that both of them have a crush on each other they don’t want to amend it. 

“Yeah big spider, take your mate out.” Kuro slides out of Shade’s body now blushing hard, why do these kids have to call them out?

“You make it a date and we just are your guy's kids judging you,” Hobie added

“Yeah Miggy go have fun with kids.” everyone turned to her Peter B. walked in with Mayday in the baby carrier. Peter the hand Mayday to Miguel was going to inject. “ go take Mayday with you. She has a good time to see the animals. And besides I do own you day-off.” 

“Peter but-”

“No buts!” Peter then opens a portal to the Earth where the fair is and pushes Miguel into it. The Kids also push him in. Shade stares at them like they went crazy.

“Come on Shade we get yelled at later!” Gwen pulled her into the portal

“All of you are in so much trouble when we get back,” Miguel said as he ate 5th turkey leg. Now in casual wear like the rest of them. 

“But you seem like you enjoy it,” Miles said jabbing Miguel’s side as they played some fair game. Pavitr, Gwen, and Hobie try to shoot the balloons. But Miguel knows that games are rigged, it a fair, even in the 2099 fair games are still rigged. 

“Guys you aren’t going to win,” Miguel said as the three were defeated. Shade and Miles giggled while Mayday laughed. 42 gave a smirk and thought of stealing one prize, but one look from Miguel said otherwise.

“Aaaww, better luck next folks.” the fair vendor said with a smirk. Gwen, Pav, and Hobie just glare at him wishing they can go out of their powers but they have to act normal. Shade led the group away from the vendor. There were so many things around the fair, she never had this kind of experience before, She was so amazed that she couldn't help but smile. 

“You look like you have a good time.” Shade snapped out awestruck a look at Miguel who had a small smile on his face. Glade that Shade is enjoying herself. Shade nodded in responded

“Hey, love birds! Let's do that!” Kuro but in made both Shade and Miguel blush. Kuro points at a stand that has a competition that looks like a hotdog eating contest. Kuro has a grin on her face. 

“Oh Shaaaddddeee.”

 Shade rolled her eyes knowing what Kuro was about to asked of her. They share the same mind after all. 

“Well since you been well-behaved for the past week and it is a competition so it's not like you can ban us. right?” Shade looks at Miguel and then not sure if she can be banned. She doesn’t want to add another place on the list of places that she and Kuro been banned to.

“You should be fine and I make sure Kuro be well-behaved,” Miguel said as he nodded 

“Oh boy!” Kuro said as she hopped on Shade’s shoulder before she fused back into Shade as take over Shade’s body. Her change from purple to silver.

“Mhaha! I show those losers a real apex predator like me!!” Kuro said about to run till Miguel pull her on her shirt. 

“You better behave,” Miguel said glaring at Kuro while she stick her tongue out at him. It like taking care of sixth child. Kuro ran up to the competition’s director.

“You! stupid man! Let in this competition and show you all to fear me!! Haha!!” Kuro said. The director looks at her as crazy. Luckily, Miles, and Miguel have to stop Kuro before people think Shade some crazy lady. 

“She wants to join your eating competition. She really good at this foods one. Hehe” Miles said while Miguel had to get Kuro off the table. 

“What up with you and getting on the table?” Miguel whispered in Kuro’s ear

“I must assert my dominance!” 

“She can join, just don’t have her on the table.”

“You sure it a good idea for Kuro be in eat hotdog?” Miles whispered to Miguel who has no idea if it was

“Shade said Kuro be well behaved. I really don’t want to get ban from her.” Miguel said as the kids see the Kuro is up against two big fellow, but she just smirk.

“Ok everyone! On your mark! Get set! Go!”

Kuro quickly devoured her hot dog plates that the two big men were shocked by how fast she ate them. She also grabbed there plate as well and eat all there hotdogs too. The judge was stunned as how this woman at all that.

“Haha! Bow down you fools! I’m the dominant predator!!” Kuro declares as stand on the table

“Uh we have a winner folks!” the Judge said as he gave Kuro the ribbon. Kuro was about to eat till Miguel came up to her and grab her off the table.

“You went overboard,” 42 said 

“Maybe, but I win!”

“Kuro can you give Shade back her body?” Miguel asked Kuro rolled her eyes then gave back Shade her body who didn’t like the feeling of having full stomach. She tried to shift a burp and blushing to see what Kuro did in her mind.

“Thank Great ones she didn’t overdo it.” 

42 look with a surprised look “She didn’t?”

Miguel walked up to Shade and 42 with MayDay in hand. She seems to be pointing to the animal area. Miguel figures she wants to go there.

“I’m taking Mayday to the animals area. Care to join?” Miguel asked Shade. She nodded as she never see many animals. 

“Can I join?” 42 asked Miles to come up to Miguel and 42

“Don’t want to join us at the rollercoaster?” Miles asked. 42 quickly shakes his head 

“What the point? We do more thrilling things than any rollercoaster. Besides it's nice to look at animals.” 42 was sweating nervously. Miles just shrugged while he ran off to catch Gwen, Hobie, and Pav. Kuro had a smirk on her bunny face.

“Your scare of heights?” she giggles.  Glare at her. Shade hit Kuro to stop laughing.

“Come on let go see the animals.” Shade said as she changed the subject. Shade, 42, Miguel, and Mayday head to the animals area. Shade was in awe as she never seen so many different animals before. Mayday giggled as she wanted to use her webs to climb on them. Miguel was glad he took them off beforehand. 

“ what animal is that?” Shade asked as she pointed to a sheep. 42 and Miguel look at each other. 

“It's a sheep. You don’t have sheep on your earth?” 42 Asked

“I'm not sure, I… don’t go out much and the only animals I see are the ones in my sectors.” 

Miguel walked up to her and gave her some food for the sheep. 

“Sheep are still around on my earth. Though there not this color.”

Shade put her hands out to feed the sheep. As they came to her they fed from her hands. They felt soft to her, never actually seen a alive one. 

“Heep.”  Shade turns to see Mayday try to reach for Shade. Shade was always scared to hold her. Peter B. always insists on her holding Mayday. Peter a lot of trust towards her. One only a few spiders that didn’t judge her. Shade grabs Mayday to bring her closer to sheep to pet. She giggles as she pets the sheep. 42 and Miguel went to their side. 

“She going go nuts when she sees the rabbits.” 42 smirk not remembering the last time he saw a little kid smile. Both Mayday and Shade look at them with child-like wonders

“Bunnies?” both of them said at the same time. 42 raises an eyebrow to Shade.

“There no rabbits on your earth?”

“No there are but… the sector I live in doesn’t have many animals. Just the standard cat and dogs.” Shade said as 42 and Miguel led her and Mayday to the Rabbit area both Shade and Mayday were in awe when they saw the bunnies. 

“Bunnies!” both said as Shade carried Mayday to one of the pins where black and white were. 

“Aww, I see you like our rabbit.” one of the farmers said then pointed to Shade. “I like your bunnies too. It's kind of cute.”

Shade realized that Kuro was on her should who was growling from being called cute. 42 to quickly grab Kuro from Shade’s shoulder hoping that Kuro doesn’t say anything to give them away. They pretty much say there is no talking animal on this Earth. 

“Heh, that she house train. May we take one out to pet them?” Shade asked. Mayday nodded also wanting to pet the bunny too. The farmer nodded as she pull out the bunnies. Both Shade and Mayday pet them, Shade never realizing how soft they are. With Kuro, it feel more warm and slimy even though she look like a rabbit.  Shade grab Miguel’s and 42’s hand so they can pet them too. Miguel couldn’t help but smile at Shade have a somewhat child-like wonder for someone who never truly got to experience anything.

Miguel's train of thought was interrupted when a photo light flashed on all four of them. Miguel, Shade,42,and Mayday turn to see Miles, Hobie,Gwen,Pavitr was there with Lyla flashing a camera

“Peter is going to get a kick when see you smiling migs.”

“Lyla! Delete it.” Miguel said with a growled

“No can do. Send to everyone to spider scoity. The Spiders need to see their boss relaxing for once.”

Miguel rolled his eyes while 42 groaned knowing his street cred was now gone. The kids laughed, had a good old time till Pav point out something

“Hey, Guys! Let's head to the hills to see the fireworks! It's about to start!”

Everyone heads to the hills to see the start of the fireworks. Miguel made sure put on his sunglasses soo he wouldn’t be blinded, and Shade put on her earplugs so she wouldn’t go into shock because of the sound. 

The light show was beautiful as many lights and shapes that can impress even the stoic of people. Shade couldn’t help but to put her head on Miguel’s shoulder which he didn’t mind. He couldn't help but smile to see the kids were happy and so was Shade. 

This was a beautiful day

Log 1 : 

6:30

My name is Miguel O’Hara. I have been head of the Kaiju Containment core division of Alchamax for 5 years. We have been studying Kaijus, to see how they fight, how they love, why they attack cities, etc. I usually have my own Journal for personal issues but now I created a new one since something happened to me today and I’m afraid I won’t be human for long.

Early today we were conducting experiments with Kaiju’s corpse that we managed to retain from Kaiju enforcers. The higher-ups want to so if we can use Kaiju’s body as a weapon. Like making more bio-mecha. I was against it, they are still living creatures that have their own ecosystem. If we destroy too many then there will be dire consequences. 

I was studying in DNA of this Kaiju, it was a rare one, having both arachnid and reptilia. Into putting DNA into a machine that we were still working on. As I was ready for the machine for its daily diagnostic test, I noticed that it wasn’t on which was strange. I should have known It was set by Kron. he and Tylor hated me as processed with cation with our work. They want to rush for a quick buck. As the machine turned while I was inside of it. I felt myself torn apart, rearranged, and change. It wasn’t painful but it was a weird experience. As I got out of the machine I looked as normal as went in. I thank God I didn’t look like a freak.

I had Lyla look at who was the last one here Kron and Tylor were here messing with it. I have a word with Higher ups tomorrow right now I need to make sure there are no side effects for this. No one ever survives the splice and I don’t trust are Medbay since they under Tylor's control and if he wants to finish the job he will.

My inside is on fire!!

I mean throwing up for an hour and I swear I think I see red. My body felt tight and expanding. My head feels like it is about to explode. I heard clothes ripping and they were getting tight around my body. As I was now able to get up, I noted what I looked like, the first thing was that my eyes were red and everything in the room was brighter. Also, it seems that I was 5 ‘10 but now I seem to be in the 6-foot range. I also noted have a rash now on my forearm. I was too tired from my wave of sickness. I need more rest.

8:30

I woke up from a wave of hunger, a figure from the growth spurt I had. I told Lyla to call out for me. Kron and Tylor lucked out since I would like to give them a piece of my mind. But right now I’m too hungry to think. Doesn’t help that me hown body is itchy like crazy and my back hurts. Took some blood samples and there is still nothing out of the ordinary, I need to get back to the lab to make sure. Something tells me something is not right.

The Kaiju alert system keeps going off in the building. Only our building, and none near us. They have to call the repair people to come and check the building to see if it might be out of order. At the same time, my body was aching again. I was out of sight, thank god. I had to bite my arm to keep from screaming as I felt my spine being pulled and stretched, my fingernails burst with now claws and my jaws started to hurt. The skin around my hands was getting rougher and scarlet. It getting worse I need to get back to the lab. I was able to sneak back to the apartment and not a moment too soon as I was now 7ft or maybe 8ft tall. I also realized I was growing a tail from the base of my spine. Shock.

I talked to Gabe today and told him to keep Gabriella, my daughter, for another couple of days. She was visiting him while taking care of work. I noted while talking to him that he wondering if I come down with something as my voice sounded deeper, I told him I had gotten a cold. Hopefully he by it while figuring it out. I had Layla hack in Alachmax so no one can bother me while I try to fix it. 

Finally got Alachmax and had to make a stop to get a shitton of food as I can feel another growth spurt coming and I kept feeling something coming. I have no time to dwell on it as I need to fix this.

AAAAAAHHH!!

The pain…ugh! It hurt!!

*Kuiju has been found! Kaiju has been found! Please take cover!* 

My head was on fire. I can't concentrate, feel like something near me that I don’t want. Like there in my home. 

*Roar* 

I could see a Kaiju invade the city, it was heading this way. I can see the Kaiju Enforcer trying to destroy it. But I was not used I was on my way towards the building. towards …me.

I know it after me. If I turn into what I think I’m turning into, then Kaiju’s instinct dictates that it try to destroy its competition and that would be me. 

I felt a horn burst through my skull as blood dripped from my head. My jaw split apart as fangs and Chelicerata were forming, I could feel a bitter and copper taste fill my mouth. I hear the ripping and tearing of my clothes as I can feel my body getting bigger, the room keeps feeling smaller and smaller. I hate it. I want to get out, but I can’t move. Every time I try to, it hurts. I felt something burst on my side as green liquid, feeling a new foreign feeling. My spine length in size I guess my tail. My sight was seen all red now. Only one thing on my mind. 

Was destroy this intruder!

Log 7: 

 5 weeks later

Hello, my name is Gabriel O’ Hara, I found my brother's log after he went missing for 5 weeks. During the time he went missing a new Kaiju type came out of the Alchemax building. I knew they were up to something. Alchemax is always the one to pull something like this. They try to use the corpse of Kaiju to make a Bioweapon. Combining the DNA of Kaiju and humans and turning them into weapons. I found out that Kron and Tyler sabotaged the machine just like my brother said. It Kaiju DNA fused in him at a slow pace. There attack from Kaiju that we had problems with before that seemed to try to hunt down something. With my years of experience with Kaijus, they don’t have anyone in their territory.

I’m guessing he's the new Kaiju that I've been hunting down. I have to get him to first before Alchamax can get their hands on him. I don’t know what I can do for him once I find him. But I’ll figure something out. I can’t leave my brother to suffer like this. 

Chapter Text

Gwen teaches Miguel, Prav, and Hobie Ballet 

Miguel groans can’t believe he doing this. But It must be done. During his missions, he noticed that he was losing his agility. He wasn't as flexible as he used to be. I know have his self to blame. One he was so focused on gaining more strength, even with the spider DNA compared to a normal Spider man he wasn’t as strong as them. He decided to work out more and bulk up. It did help that his Spider DNA gave him boost growth, making him more bulkier. But now that losing his agility. 

He and Lyla trying to see if they can change that and one thing they found out is trying ballet helps gain agility and flexibility more. Miguel only knows one Spider-person who has experience in Ballet. He heard the lab door open to saw Gwen walking in. he called her in as soon as she was done with her mission. 

“You call the boss?” Gwen asked wondering why she was called. It more rare she gets called in for anything let alone by Miguel.  

“I need you to teach me ballet,” Miguel said in a serious tone. Gwen stares at him with eyes widened. I think he just heard him

“Hehe, uh sorry can you repeat that, you need me to teach you to do ballet? 

“Yes, did I make it clear?”

Gwen had slapped herself to see she didn’t hit her head hard from the mission. Her boss Miguel, a Ninja, vampire, dude asks her to teach him about ballet. Miguel sighed explaining the reason.

“I want to be more flexible like you all again.”

“Flexibility? But you're pretty good without it. And now all spider people need to be flexible look at Petra.”

“I know but it will help me on my mission. Will you help me?”

Gwen couldn’t help but smirk and Miguel did not like the look of it. What is this girl planning?

“Ok meet me at my earth studio tomorrow. I rent out once a week. I send you the address.” 

Miguel nodded surprised that she was willing to teach him. But something tells him she is up to something.

The next day, after Miguel took care of the mission and had Peter B. in charge, Miguel headed to Gwen’s Earth and headed to the address that she gave him. He wondered how she rant the place since Gwen was still young.

As he entered the building he thought he was the first one there before Gwen till he heard a voice

“Hey, big boss man. Here to become a twinkle toe aye?” 

Miguel recognizes the voice knowing who it is. He saw Hobie in the corner of the room with the biggest grin on his face. Miguel groans knowing Gwen must told Hobie and them. He knew she couldn’t keep a secret. Now have to deal with Hobie

“Yes, I’m trying to regain my agility and flexibility. This strictly training nothing else. 

“Right big man.”

“Are they just mocking me or something else?”

Hobie got up from the corner of the room, Miguel noticed that Hobie was wearing a ballerina outfit under his vest. And have a tutu. Miguel debated whether to ask him or not. Lyla pops up next to Miguel.

“What with the get-up punk,”  Lyla said with a smirk.

“You see I lost a bet with Gwen during a mission. This was part of the bet. But I glad she made it fun see you suffer with me.” 

Before Miguel could say anything they saw Pavitr enter. With a surprised look on his face. Also, have a ballerina outfit with a tutu

“What you guys do here? Are guys here to see me train with Gwen?”  Pav asked 

“No, Pavitr we are also here to train with Gwen, well me and you. Hobie lost a bet.” 

Pav smirked at Hobie “ I see you lost Hobs.”  

Hobie grabs Pav to give him a playful head nudging. Miguel folds his arms and gives off a smile, I like the bothersome they give off. Remind him with him with Gabriel. The door opened again as Gwen came in with a grin.

“I see you guys made it.” Gwen then looks at Miguel. “Where is your ballerina outfit Miguel?

“I’m not wearing that.”  

Before Gwen says anything Lyla pops up again with the smile that she always has. 

“I can fix that.” Lyla snapped her finger and digitally turned Miguel’s outfit into a pink ballerina outfit. Both Hobie and Pav couldn’t help but laugh.

“Lyla! Turn it back!” Miguel said through his teeth. Lyla put her hands up her ear 

“Oh, it sounds like Peter! Have fun Miguel!” then she left. Miguel groans now have to train with this outfit. Gwen giggles, then claps her hands.

“Ok ok, let's get started. So since all of you have never done ballet I’m starting you on level 1. It is called Plié or bent. Now watch how I do.” Gwen went to the rail and had her feet in a five position. Her heels were on the ground.

“You make sure your heel is on the ground completely and you make sure you can feel your pinky toes and then…” Gwen then bends her knee far down and then back up. 

“Make sure you're on tempo I’ll snap my finger to give you an idea.” Gwen then turns to the guys who have surprised looks on there faces. 

“Ok, you guys turn.”

Hobie, Miguel, and Pav tried to mimic what Gwen had just done Hobie and Miguel were having a hard time so Hobie tried to bend the same way as Gwen had just done. Pav did it perfectly. 

“Wow, this easy! Right guys?” Pav looked back at his classmate who just glared back at him. He just let out nervous chuckled while Gwen tries her best not to laugh

“Ok let's see what else” 

So for the next two hours, both Miguel and Hobie try to catch every move Gwen does but fail. Mainly either one or both of them fall flat on the ass while Pav was a natural making Hobie and Miguel look i two Spider who just got bit.

“Wow guys you all…did great,” Gwen said trying to sound nice to Hobie and Miguel. But both of them know they suck so hard.  Pav chime in and hugs Hobie and Miguel to cheer them up.

“Hey, we should do this every week! This so much fun and I think you guys can do it!” Pav said. Both Hobie and Miguel look at each other. Hobie gave his signature grin

“What you say, boss man?”

Miguel rolled his eyes and smirked despite the struggle he did enjoy it.

“Sure, what the hell.”

You will never be good enough

Miguel can’t believe it. He is a father now. It had been almost a year since He and Xina got back together trying to rekindle their love for each other. At the same time, balancing work and being Spider-man.  When Xina broke the news that she was pregnant, Miguel was shocked, Happy, scared, and nervous at the same time.

You’ll be like him

He always wanted a family of his own, but him being a half-spider and his family track record… He doesn’t know he can do it. He made sure that Xina was taken care of as the months went by and her belly got bigger. Both of them were scared that the ultrasound would show a baby with 8 arms or a spider chelicerae. 

You're a mistake 

When the baby was born it was the best day of Miguel and Xina’s lives. It was a baby girl that they decided to name Gabriella. It was tough for them at first, taking care of a baby wasn’t easy. So far Gabriella wasn’t showing any sign of the spider's powers thankfully. And to be honest, Miguel was really glad, wanting her to be a normal child and never have to deal with the Spider-man job. 

Why bother? you’re going to fail

Miguel made sure he did all the things that he wasn’t able to do when he was a child; Give her birthday parties. Take her to amusement parks. Read her bedtime story every night—everything he can while juggling with a job and being Spiderman.

Miguel tries his best for his daughter, but sometimes he doesn’t feel like he is. He’s afraid that something bad will happen. He is a Spider-Man, and nothing goes your way when you Spider-Man. He lost so many people that he cares about for being Spider-Man. Dana, his brother, and his…mother. 

You’ll never change

One few things Miguel regretted in life, was that he wasn’t on better terms with his mother before she died. He wanted her so badly, for her to love him, to see past that he wasn’t like him . He wasn’t Tylor Stone, he was Miguel O’Hara. Conchata’s son. But she never truly saw past that,  reminding herself and him every day. He remembers one bad night in particular, his thought-to-be-real dad George O’Hara. Made her so mad that she drank. then drunk she came into his room and talked to him. She thought he was asleep, but he wasn’t. 

“You were my biggest mistake. I hope you know that. That man used me and then threw me away. Only to leave me with you. Every time I look at you…all I see is him. Why did he curse me with you?”

Miguel never forgot that night. He truly never looked at his mother the same way. He tries to provide him with nothing like his father. He has a better job, has a wife, and treats his family ten times better than his dad ever could. But looking back at it, he was similar to Tyler as much as he hates to admit it. Like he cheated on Xina with Dana and the fact she took him back was a miracle. He became the CEO of Alchemax but changed their ways for the better. And now he has a child and he was going to protect Gabriella and his wife, Xina, with his life. He was never going to let anything happen to them. 

Gabriella was the next best thing that happened to him. She has reddish-brown eyes. Not too red so she can blend in well. He checks every day to see if she gains any of his powers. She watches her get bigger, play with her, feed her, and take her to places. 

You’ll never be good enough

“Do you think I’m a good father?” 

As she puts Gabriella to bed, Xina is taken aback by Miguel's words. She knows Miguel didn’t have a good family life, and that he’s trying everything in his power not to end up like his dads and mom. 

“Why would you say that?” 

“ I feel like everything I do isn’t enough. I failed so many times and I am afraid if I can’t do this-”

Xina hugs him, quieting the worries he has, knowing the inner turmoil he has.

“Miggy, I know you’re scared about being a father. And I know you're really scared of becoming like your parents. But…” Xina grabs him by the face to make Miguel look directly into his beautiful sunset-red eyes. They were different colors when they first met, but they were still the same eyes she had grown to love. But here was so much sadness and self-loathing in them too 

“You listen to me, you are not George. You are not Conchata. And you are not Tyler. You are Miguel, the man I fell in love with and the man who’s going to give our daughter the best life that either had.”  Xina then pulls him in to kiss and smile at him as she rubs his face. 

“We will give her the best life we can give her.”

Miguel holds her hand not wanting to let go of it. Xina was always the type to speak her mind and give him the words to do more. He smiles at her, and then both look at Gabrella’s room, seeing their daughter sleeping peacefully, wanting her to have the best life. 

Lyla popped up between them. 

“Hey boss, there's trouble in downtown. I think they can use Spider-man.” Lyla said with a smirk. Miguel sighed knowing his work as Spider-man had never been done. He turns on his outfit before his masked form, he kisses Xina then turns toward the window and jumps out to swing to the danger.

You’ll never be good enough! Don’t you understand?

“I might not be good enough, but I sure as hell I can shocking try. For her. For them.” 

Chapter Text

“Come on you two. Live a little!” Peter B. groans, bored out of his mind, as he has been in this meeting for a good hour with Jess, Ben, Shade, and Miguel. They have all been talking about how all the earths have been doing. 

Miguel glares at Peter not like him interrupting the meeting. To be fair, Jess and Ben didn’t pay attention and Shade was trying. 

“Come on, Mig! You promised to live a little, remember? It's the weekend! My wife is babysitting me and Jess's kids. Jess hasn’t partied in months. Ben just got paid. And Shade’s never gone clubbing before!”

Shade blushes, not liking that she is being called out, but it is true. She had spent her early 20s though hiding from her Sixs, so going out was never an option. Miguel rubs his temple, not wanting to deal with Peter and just wanting a smooth meeting for once. but he doesn’t even get that now.

“I agree with Peter,” Jess adds, which surprises everyone.

“Really?!” They all say in various levels of excitement.

“Well, yeah. It's like Peter said, I haven’t gone out in months since I’ve been on maternity leave taking care of my kid. My husband wants me to have a girl’s night, but you’ll all do.” Jess smirks as Ben rolls his eyes with a grin.

“Geez thanks. Well, my boss did say there was a good club on my earth…” Ben then pulled up the image with his gizmo to show them the club, “Wanted to try it, but I never had the time.”

“Then that settles it then. We’re going clubbing.” Jess exclaims while Miguel folds his arms.

“What do you mean ‘we’?” 

Jess puts her hands on her hips, not about to have any of Miguel’s anti-fun mood, “You going with us. You too Shade.”

Shade's eyes widened in surprise, “W-What?! I‘m coming?!”  

Peter put his hand on her shoulder,“Hell yeah, your Miguel’s going to show you a good time. Right Migs?” Peter grins knowing that the two usually hang out with each other in their free time. Miguel sighs and walks up to Shade.

“Do you want to go Shade?” Wanting to make sure Shade was comfortable going, knowing she didn’t go out much but that she was always willing to try new things. Something he admired her for. Shade smiled shyly and nods, turning to Peter.

“I want to try this…clubbing? What do you do there?” 

“Well, there’s dancing, music, some drinking, and having a good time!” Peter list off excitedly as Ben came up and gave Miguel and Shade the address to the club. They all agreed to be there in two hours since it would be late at night in Ben’s world then. With that, the others leave, and Shade and Miguel are alone. But Shade can feel Miguel wasn’t so happy about this clubbing idea.

“You don’t like clubbing?” Shade asked.

Miguel sighed, forgetting that Shade could feel what he was feeling because of her abilities.

“More like I’ve outgrown it.” He replies.

“And you're supposed to be the young one here,” She chuckles, “Well, I would like it if you joined. It sounds nice, and you do need to get out of HQ more.” 

Smiling at her joke, she leaves for her room in HQ that she used when she stayed here. Shade figured it was more party so she got Kuro change her outfit to fit the club theme then wear anything she had. Easily, Kuro puts her in a blue dress with matching blue heel boots and made sure the dress had long sleeves to cover her black limbs. Adding some make-up to cover up her facial scars so they were less noticeable and Shade was ready to go.  

“Can you be asleep for tonight, Kuro?” Shade asked her other half. Kuro thought about it knowing Shade just wanted to be a normal woman for once.

“Mmmm…if you let me take over next weekend. Got beat them kids in smash.” Kuro said with a smirk before she fused back into Shade’s body. Shade agrees, it was the least she could do for Kuro. 

Shade ends up waiting in the lobby, some of the spiders staring at her as they go pass, but she was used to it since she was still the oddball here at the society.

“You could’ve met me in the lab.” 

Shade turned to Miguel, and he wonders why she waited in the lobby. Then again, sometimes she just wants to be out and about. 

Shade lifts an eyebrow as she looks at Miguel still in his Spider-Man outfit. She never understood why he always wore his costume everywhere. 

Miguel took a deep breath and opened the portal to Ben’s earth, “Come on before I change my mind about this.” 

Shade nodded as they both walked into the portal and out into an alleyway near the nightclub. Looking down at her gizmo she can see it was like eleven at night on Ben’s earth, and yet, Shade can hear the music outside. She winces from the noise, knowing if she goes in there she might go into shock. Miguel then holds out some earplugs that looked different from any other earplugs she’s ever used.

“These will block out noises so you won’t go into shock,” He tells her, “Also, you be able to hear people. I wish I had finished them early so you could enjoy Hobie’s performances.” 

Shade put the earplugs into her ears and suddenly the music wasn’t so loud, but she could still hear Miguel like he said. It was as if there weren’t any earplugs in her ears at all, which was great as most earplugs don’t work for her at all.

“That's ok” Then Shade looks Miguel up and down “Are you going to change? Don’t want people to know your Spider-Man now do you?” She joked while Miguel just rolled his eyes as he hit the button to change his clothes to casual wear, something that always surprised Shade. 

“Better?” Miguel said in a joking manner, he then put in his special design contacts to make his eyes look brown and to block out most of the neon signs and streetlights. They both head out of the alley, where they both see Ben, Jess, and Peter who were already in line, saving them a spot.

“That’s a cute outfit Shade, and look at you Miguel. For once you don’t look like you're about to go into meetings all day.” Jess joked as they all laughed.

 Finally they make it to the door, the bouncer eyeing them suspiciously as he looked at the IDs that Miguel had created for them on this earth. He was staring at Shade the most since she was the youngest looking one out of the group.  

Giving her a grin that she tried to ignore, he leans over, whispering,“You know, they give you better drinks if you had a better outfit.” 

He clearly didn’t want anyone to hear him. Unfortunately, Miguel did and was about to say something, but Shade beat him to it.

“Well, it's cold and I know you’re not going to make anyone warm with keeping out here.” Shade then grabs her ID and heads in. The bouncer glaring at her, ready to call her out as a bitch until Miguel looked at him. If look can kill, he would be dead by now.

The nightclub was surprisingly crowded, even for a weekend. The music was pumping, louder than Shade expected, that even with ear plugs she wanted to cover her ears. Before she knew it Shade was separated from the group,  lost in the moving crowd, and she knew she couldn’t track them with this noise around her. 

Miguel groaned, not having a good time as the light flashing still stung his eyes. Even with his contacts and sunglasses, Miguel can see Ben and Peter awkwardly dancing on the dance floor, while Jess was talking to a group of women. Looking around for Shade, he finds her near the tables by the bar where most of the people around Shade seem a bit tipsy.

Shade winces at the smell of alcohol all around her,  something she’s not been a fan of since she can’t get drunk. She had been over at the Parkers with Miguel for dinner and unknowingly drank through fifteen glasses of wine. Both Peter and Miguel stop Shade from drinking anymore once they realize, but she had found out that she can’t get drunk.

“Hey, babe wanna party with me.” A tall muscular guy walks up to Shade, clearly drunk with his slurring. The guy was already giving her bad vibes and she doesn’t like the feeling this guy was giving her. The feeling that she was some person for him conquered. He suddenly puts his arms around her making the feeling worse, “Come on baby, let me show what kind of animal I can *hic* be.” 

“No thanks, but I think you should leave.” Shade tells him with a stern voice, trying not to call too much attention to herself. But the drunk guy wasn’t taking no for an answer.

Smirking, he asks,  “Or what, little lady? I’m the biggest guy here.” 

“Well, you're wrong on that.” Shade pointed to someone behind him. 

The drunk man turned around to see Miguel, who wasn’t too happy to see one of his friends being harassed, especially by some drunken fool. The guy's eyes widened at how big Miguel was compared to him, but that wasn't going to deter him.

“Hey, dude! Back off! I know kung fu, so I can kick your ass.”  He said sluggishly. 

Shade was kind of impressed, but then again being drunk does make you lose a few brain cells. As calmly as she, could took the guy's arm away from her. But the guy was about to grab her again. But before he could do that Miguel pulled him away from Shade. The drunk didn’t like that and he was about to go after the two, but realized he couldn’t move. Looking down, he saw that something had glued his feet to the floor. 

Miguel and Shade walk towards the bar, hoping that that guy gets kicked out. Shade looks around at people from her vantage point at the bar and sees that everyone is having a good time, even though half of them were drunk or high. Hell, Jess, Peter, and Ben felt great. But feeling all these wild emotions wasn’t the greatest of feelings. It was giving her a headache, one that Miguel noticed.

“Are you ok?”

Shade quickly nods her head, trying not to show him she wasn’t feeling well. She didn’t want to ruin the fun for Miguel and the others. 

“I’m fine, it's just all this… all this ugh…” 

The room was spinning now. The thumping of the loud music and absorbing so many emotions was starting to get to her. She thought she had gotten pass the whole ‘can’t be around too many people’ since being with Spider Society. She had been getting so much better at being around other people. But being around drunk and rowdy people and the music didn’t help, it only made it worse. Shade was now breathing hard in a panic that she didn’t notice Miguel was holding her close to him. 

“Come on, let's get you some air.”

“No-no! I’m fine. It’s just-”

“Shade, your hair is turning white.” 

Shade looked at her hair and it was indeed turning white. Also, her tendrils were coming out. Only enough for the notice, if they were close to her. 

“Vamos señora.” Miguel whispered in her ear, Shade not having the strength to argue with him. He led her to the backroom and outdoors back into the alleyway they had first portal to. Away from everyone, Shade was breathing much easier.

“How are you feeling?” 

“Better.” Shade stepped away to lean on the wall of the nightclub and sit down. 

Miguel was about to ask if she was ok, but stayed silent when Shade punched a hole in the wall. Miguel can tell Shade is frustrated by the fact she was still not used to being around people. 

“Great one. I thought I had gotten better. Why am I still struggling?!” Shade shouts as put her face in her hands  wanting to cry in frustration, “I didn’t want to ruin your guys' fun by always being babysat by you.”

Before Miguel can respond both he and Shade heard voices at the end of the alleyway. They turn, seeing the drunk guy from earlier, but that he was with two other guys, much to Miguel and Shade's annoyance.

“There you are bitch! No one makes a fool out of me!” The drunk guy yells as his small gang comes around him, ready to fight Miguel and take Shade. Miguel was about to handle these three, but Shade gets up from her spot and stops Miguel from confronting them. 

“You want me so badly?” Shade asked lowly as she walked towards the group of guys. 

The drunk guy smirks, thinking Shade has changed her mind, “Yeah baby, how about you lose this guy and party with us? You’re the hottest thing here.”

“ Even If I look like this?” Shade then transformed into her Bezerk form towering over all three. Their confidence suddenly becoming fear and . Shade tries not to grin or maul them as she savors their fear. 

“ You still want me now?” 

The three cowardly men ran away screaming ‘monster’ before Shade could do anything. Before Miguel could say or do anything Shade turned back to normal, taking deep breaths to keep her calm, but she felt a bit better after blowing some steam. This time she did notice Miguel putting his hands on her shoulders. She was ready to be scolded by Miguel, knowing she was not allowed to do that, but to her surprise, he didn't.

“Want to go somewhere quieter? There’s a place that is still open this late. e can grab a bite to eat.”

Shade nodded, “I would like that.”

After grabbing a couple of burgers, they head to an empty park. There was a children's playground and both of them take a seat on the swings. It wasn’t too cold or hot out at night and the street was weirdly quiet for a New York, not that either of them were complaining. Shade was still on her second burger, which Miguel knew meant that Shade was down.

“Want to know why I’m not a huge fan of parties or clubbing?” Miguel said to get Shade's attention. She looked up at Miguel, who had taken his sunglasses off as if it was dark enough. 

“Your eyes?”

“Yeah. The last actual party I went to was a ‘Day of the Dead’ in Mexico. My brother dragged me there to cheer me up. Too bad there was like a zombie invasion or something. I would enjoy it more if it wasn’t for my eyes and loud noise. Heh, for my younger brother, he and Xina took me somewhere nice, quiet, and a bit dark for me afterward.” 

“They seem nice.”

Miguel looked down with a small sad smile, “They were. What I’m trying to say is I know the struggle to try and fit in and be normal. But at the same time there is something you have to give up. But not give up completely,” He looked at Shade and patted her on her back, “At least you're brave to try.” 

“I wanted to try it out because it sounded like it was a nice way to hang out with people. Like you said, it was nice to feel normal for once. I promised myself after the collider fiasco, that I’d live more.” Shade then looks up,her eyes glowing red at hearing people coming their way, but calms herself as knows who those footsteps are. It was Ben, Jess, and Peter B. They must have noted that they were gone, even though neither Miguel nor Shade told them they left since they didn’t want to ruin their fun. 

“We were looking all over for you two. Thanks for bailing on us just so you two can have a make-out session.” Peter B. retorts. Shade was blushing hard while Miguel gave him a death glare. Jess elbowed Peter knowing they weren’t doing that. 

“Was the clubbing too much for you two?” Jess asked knowing her boss long enough and knowing that Miguel hated being in a place where the lighting was erratic. And Shade being a symbiote; being around loud sounds and emotional people probably wasn’t the best place for the two. 

Miguel and Shade nodded, not wanting to admit it out loud. 

“I know a 24-hour cafe we can go to,” Ben chimes in, “It is for students who want to study, but the public can use it too. There are some snacks, the lighting won’t be so bad, and quiet for you too. The night’s still young, so do you want to give it a try? Or do guys want to go home?”

Miguel looks at Shade, “Do want to give that a try?”

Shade nodded with a smile, “You guys didn’t need to do this. We-I didn't want to be a burden.” 

Peter B. walked around and then put his arms around her and Miguel, giving them a big grin.

“What are friends for but caring for each other? Besides, you guys can make out later. Hell, I can join too.” Peter B. joked while Miguel and Shade rolled their eyes with a small smile as they shoved burgers into Peter’s face at his attempt to get them to smile, “Hey!” He shouts with a laugh.

Everyone else laughed, while Ben led the way to the cafe, the five of them having a party of their own. All in all, it was an awesome night.

Chapter Text

Having a son like Spider-Man can be anxiety-inducing. Never know when not to come home, having him drag himself back to the room all batter and bruised. But, Rio knows that the city needs her son. The city needs a Spider-man. 

Rio was working at the desk of the hospital for only two more hours till her shift ended. It was a slow night. Fame last word for someone who works in a hospital. Rio got a text message from her son, she used to love getting text messages but nowhere did she pray it was not him to write his last thoughts to her. She read the message:

Mom! Please come home now! Need help!

Rio was having a mental panic attack reading this. She asked her boss if she could leave early as her son had an emergency. She drove as fast as she could back to her apartments. Once she ran upstairs as fast as she could, she busted through down waited to see her son bleeding to death. 

She was surprised to see Miles, his Spider-Man outfit was damaged and he had bruising but nothing too serious well from what she could see. He was panicking and grabbed his mom and pulled her to her room. 

“Miles!  Are you ok?!” 

“I’m fine, it's not me that hurt!” Miles said as he tried to drag his mom to her bedroom. Once she entered her room, she saw Miguel lying on her bed bleeding from his stomach or chest area. 42 was trying to compress the wound so Miguel didn’t bleed out. 

“What happened?!” Rio said seeing her son’s boss bleeding on her bed. Jeff is going to have a field day when he sees this.

“What happened?!” she yelled 

“We were fighting an anomaly that got away and he bombed us. Miguel shielded us from the bomb but he got injured. We can’t call HQ because Miguel is too injured to be teleported back and we're understaffed right now so no one can come.”

Rio quickly rushes to Miguel’s side to see how bad it is. The wound doesn’t look too deep but Miguel looks like he still losing blood and there are other wounds that she doesn’t know about. Miguel looks pale from the blood loss, but he looks like he is still awake just in a lot of pain. 

“Este impactante duele.” Miguel cursed to himself having covered up his unmasked face with his arm. Rio sighed in relief knowing he still talking. She walked up to Miguel who didn’t notice that Rio was there.

“Miguel. What type is your blood?”

Miguel didn’t answer but His A.I. Lyla did.

“Hey! I got you. He type -O. He was not allergic to anything but mint. These body stats are-” Lyla then show Rio Miguel’s health stats. So far everything is low but not dangerous yet. But Rio been working in the medical field knows that anything can change in the blink of an eye. She then grabbed the bloody towel that 42 was using to compress. 

“Miles. Both of. I need you to go to the hospital and steal two packs of that blood. Here take my key card and code #1610. It's on the third floor.” Rio said not looking at them trying to think what else she going to need. 42 nodded

“Got it. I steal it. Can’t have Spider-man be seen as a villain for stealing.” 42 said as he put on his Prowler mask. Miles puts on his as they both jump out of the window a swing as fast as they can. Leaving Miguel and Rio. Rio quickly went to the closet and pulled out some Medkits, after she found out that her son was Spider-man, stole a bunch of medical stuff to help Miles out so that if get too injured he could heal up at home no one could find out. Rio grabs some needles and some of Miguel’s hair as if she is going to snitch on him 

“Miguel? Hey! Still with me papa?”  Rio said hoping Miguel would not fall unconscious. Miguel looked at her with his red eyes that were glowing a bit. Something that Rio never knew about. Well, Miles and they did tell her that Miguel is like a vampire in a way. “You not getting hungry for blood right?”

“Did Miles tell you I’m a vampire didn’t he?” Miguel choked out, Rio smirked at him 

“No that was Hobie.”

Miguel groaned, of course, it was him. “Esos niños”. Miguel then dissolves the arm of his outfit so he can bite down on his exposed skin. Rio’s eyes widen when he does this. 

“What are you doing?!”

Miguel let go of his arm and wiped the blood from his mouth. “I change my venom to make my blood thicker so I won’t bleed out.” 

“You have venom?”

“I’m…half spider.”

Rio raised her eyebrow and confessed what he meant. “Isn’t that all Spider-men?” Rio said as she readied the needle so she could close his wound. When the needle went through his skin he hissed in pain, trying not to claw Rio’s bed sheet. 

“N-No, I’m more…complicated.”

Rio nodded as she continued stitching up Miguel’s wound. They sat there in silence Miguel was trying his best not to hissed in pain and give Rio contraition to stitch him. After about a like 10 minutes she was done. She made sure it was cleaned up so it wouldn’t get infected. She grabbed the blood towel and put it away and grabbed a new one and some alcohol to help with the cleaning. She cleaned the wound and Miguel hissed and both heard a tear, Miguel cursed and realized his talons ripped their sheet.

“Look like you going own me one.” Rio pouted, not liking her bed sheet got ruined. 

“I’ll replace them.” Miguel sigh. “I'm sorry you have…to deal with me.” Miguel knows that Miles’s parent doesn’t like him. After the Spot incident and the fact, he was trying to get Miles’s dad killed for the canon their understanding pissed. They were more pissed founding out that Miles decide to join the spider society after the hell they put him through. Miles explained that everyone apologized to him and he didn’t want to be alone. But the main reason he just wants a watch is to see his friends. 

“You know I don’t hate you.”

Miguel turns his attention back to Rio. Rio helps him sit up on the edge of the bed so she can wrap the wound up. Miguel dissolves his costume to his waist so Rio can wrap it. 

“I said I don’t hate you. I might not like you, but you're still a human being and I’m a nurse, and me not like you won’t stop me from helping you.” Rio remembers the night that she and Jeff had to tell Miles that his uncle Aaron didn’t make it. Miles cried the whole night knowing how much his uncle meant to him. After, two years he was getting better, surprisingly after he started to hang with Society. 

“He looks up to you. See you another Uncle to go to like that Peter guy. You guys are like a second family to him. And I be damn if my son loses another Uncle on my watch. lo, tienes?”

Miguel just stared at her, surprised by her words it caused him to choke up a bit. Wondering if it is because of the blood loss that he feels this way. She sounds like a mother that scrolling a child but not in the hurtful manner that he has gotten used to.

“You make it hard for me not to like you,” Rio said as she finished up the wrapping and helped Miguel to lay back down as she could tell he was getting dizzy from sitting upright.

“I’m sorry.” Miguel choked out, almost sounding like he was about to cry.

“Please, stop that.” rolling her eyes wondering what hit this man in the feeling. Miguel was always stoic or at least serious-spoken. That is what Miles had told her. 

“Sorry, I…I never had a nice mother figure. So you talking to me as…like an actual mother. It's something new to me.” Miguel said, realizing he said it out loud. He hates that the lack of blood is making him lose common sense. Rio just says silent, Miles did mention Miguel didn’t have a great childhood. And seeing some of his old wounds that were more akin to someone who was abused. Before she can be asked how bad his past was, she hears the front door bust open. At first, she thought it was Miles and 42 was back but it wasn’t

“Rio! Miles! What going on?!” Jeff yelled from the living room. Rio forgot that during the panic rush to hear she texted her husband that Miles was in trouble. Jeff burst through the bedroom door thinking he going to see his son seriously injured but was surprised to see Miguel on the bed instead. 

Miguel’s eyes widened and were glowing more red. He quickly crawled away from Rio and Jeff to the far corner of the bed, baring his fangs at them. Rio was so surprised at what Miguel was doing but one look on his face made her realize that he was afraid. She turned to her husband who also was freaking out to see a Spider-man crawling inhumanly fast. To Miguel, due to the blood loss, a vision of his step-father flashes in front of him. Remember how his father would beat him so often for just doing the small stuff. 

“por favor no me hagas daño. por favor no me hagas daño, 

Papá!” Miguel sobbed. Rio got between Miguel and her husband, seeing this a few times in her medical career. Too many times sadly. 

“Jeff. leave the room for a moment.” Rio said calmly not wanting to freak Miguel out anymore. His talons and the look in his eyes tell her he is in ‘fight or flight’ mode. Right now it flight but in a moment it can turn into a fight and she knows her or her husband can’t take down a Spider-man. 

“What?! I’m leaving you with him!” Jeff whisper

“Look, Miguel got hurt bad and he was in the right mind because of the blood loss he had, and right now you look like someone from his past who wasn’t too kind to him,” Rio said inching herself closer slowly towards Miguel that began to shake in fear. Jeff nodded that he understood and trusted his wife as he stepped out of the room and closed the door behind him. After Jeff did that Miguel was shaking less but still curled up towards that edge.

“Hey, Hey. he gone. The big scary guy is gone.” it was so weird for Rio to sat that since Miguel is taller and bigger than her husband.

“ lastimame a mi, no a mi hermano” Miguel whisper out. Causing Rio’s eyes to widen more. Miguel taking most of that for his brother. If she ever meets Miguel’s father he going to be a dead man. Rio shook her head to try to stay focused and get Miguel to calm down. She saw that Miguel was covering his mouth.

“I won’t speak Spanish again, I’m sorry.”

God, she really going to kill Miguel’s dad

“Hey! No one going to hurt you. me aseguro de eso.”  Rio said as she took Miguel's arm pulled him up from the corner of the bed and lay him down, a not moment too soon Miguel almost collapsed back down on the bed. The blood loss finally caught up to him as the room was getting more dizzy.

“No…no one will hurt me?”

Rio shook her head as she pulled a blanket on him so he wouldn’t get cold. She looked at his viral sign seeing everything was still low. Hoping Miles and 42 come here soon.

“No, descansa un poco, ¿vale?”

Miguel didn’t say anything but his eyes felt heavy. He sensed no danger as he fell into deep sleep.

Miguel groaned as he tried to open his eyes. The first thing he noted when he woke up he not hurting anymore. His healing was working now and he didn’t feel so dizzy. He realized why as he saw a needle in his arm that led to an almost empty blood bag. So at least he knows that his blood was replaced so that's good. Miguel also realized he was not a HQ but in a room.

“Lyla?” Miguel said his voice so froggy from the lack of water. Lyla popped in front of him with her cheerful self. 

“What you need chief?”

“How…how long have I been out?

“Three hours. You were out like a light. You look less paler now so that's good.” 

Miguel rolled his eyes and was about to get up but Lyla popped in front of him fast

“Whoo, big guy. Let's not get up too fast. Here!” Lyla said as she sent a message. As she did that Miguel heard thumping heading his way. As the door burst open to saw Miles and 42 rush to his bedside. 

“Miguel! You ok!” Miles said hugging Miguel who grunted in pain. He healed but he is still a bit sensitive. 42 to pull Miles away so he doesn’t hurt Miguel anymore. 

“Are you two ok?” Miguel asked only able to remember something after the attack. He remember taking the blast and was trying to teleport back but was too hurt to be teleported. 

“We should be the one asking you tio! Mom said you lost more blood than we thought and if you hadn’t bitten yourself you would have bled out!” Miles said trying not to freak out but failing at it. Miguel felt guilty not wanting to make the young spider worry. Miles doesn’t want to be treated like a kid but sometimes he forgets he is still young. Losing one of his closest family members doesn’t help giving the teen PTSD. Miguel also can tell he worries too, 42 just not the type to show it. 

“I’m fine. Just need some water.” 

“I figure much.” everyone turns to Rio at the doorways with a plate of food and some water for Miguel. “I will be guessing you be hungry. I know Miles to be when he gets hurt like that.” Rio said causing Miles to blush a bit thinking his mom said something embarrassing to Miguel. Miguel nodded took the plate from Rio and drank the water to feel more better.

“I’m sorry if I had been a bother to you.” Miguel looked at the bed and saw the sheets under him were ripped figuring he had caused them. 

“Don’t mention it. You didn’t cause too much problem.” Rio said surprisingly cheerfully to Miguel who was a bit taken back from it. He looks at 42.

“Once I’m done, will head back to our earth. We bugged the Morles enough as it is.” 

“That and I kept kicking Miles's ass in his videogame.” 

“Hey! I was winning!” Miles said while 42 smirked. Rio laughed they were fighting like the two were twin brothers.

“You two go back and get some rest and you Miles better doing some homework, not gaming. Both of you.”

“Yes, mom.” Both Miles and 42 left the room. Leaving the two adults. 

“Did I do or say anything weird to you?” he wanted to make sure he didn’t hurt Rio or anyone. He is sometimes not in the right frame of mind when he is too hurt. Rio shook her head and put her hands on his shoulder to reassure him.

“ nada que pueda manejar. Miguel.”

Miguel looks at Rio “You are a good guy, and you are doing your best.” Rio said as she took his empty plate. “Also, I like green bed sheets.”

Date night

“I can’t believe I’m doing this.” Shade said to herself. Ok not to herself, but to her Symbiote half who was trying to hype her up to do the hardest thing she had done in years. Ask someone out on a date.

“ Come on, Shade! Go in and ask him out. And if he says no, I’ll kick his ass for you.”  Kuro said, as a black rabbit on her shoulder. Shade was outside Miguel’s lab trying to gain the strength to go in. 

It all started when, Gwen, Jess, Margo, Peni, and Shade were having a girl's day out. Shade wanted to experience hanging out with females since never had done that. They decided to go to Gwen’s Earth to eat out. They were talking about their boyfriend/girlfriend and their crushes. Jess going on and on about her husband being so hot, Gwen talking about Miles, Margo about her girlfriend, and Peni having a crush on one her classmates when it fell to Shade

“So Shade, who are you into?” Jess said with a smirk. Shade blushed from the question hoping they forgot she was even there. But judging from the looks she got from the group they weren’t going to let it slide.

“I-I have no idea what you talking about.” Shade as she took another sip of her drink. 

“Oh come on Shade you've been here for what? Six months? I think I know who you have been eyeing on.” 

“Like I said, I don’t know what you’re talking about,” Shade said trying her best to avoid the question. Too bad her other half spilled the beans on her behalf.

“ She thinks the big spider is hot and wants to vuck him.” Shade practically spit out her drink. While Jess and Peni laughed. Gwen and Margo snickered. 

“Hobie so owe me 50 bucks now,” Gwen said giggling at Margo

“You bet on this?!” Shade said she tried to clean the table of her drink

“I mean, you screamed you had a crush on him for a while. I can see it in your eyes, girl.” Jess joked. Shade sighs knowing nothing will get past this woman.

“Was it so obvious?” 

“Yes!” all four of them said at once causing Shade to blush so hard that she was going to melt which it be bad since she was in public.

“I look, I will admit I do like him but…I don’t know. I know you guys trying to get me to go out more and do things more since I have more control of my powers.”

Peni held Shade’s hands and gave her a warm smile 

“You should go ask him Shade, it might be worth a try for both of you.”

“I agree. I have known Miguel the longest and can tell he has been a lonely type, but at the same time, he really doesn’t want to be alone. He doesn’t want to admit it. But, with all the things that happen to him, he feels like he doesn’t deserve it. You know how hard it is for us to get him to get out of his lab?” Jess said with a sad tone, hoping this would help her boss and friend.

“Yeah, girl! Get our boss out of his moodiness. It might brighten him up a bit.” Margo chimes in. 

“Yeah, also I can get more money from this hehe.” Gwen giggle. Shade just rolled her eyes while Kuro hopped off from Shade’s shoulder

“ Yeah! Let's go ask Big Spider. We will rock his vucking world to gain dominance over him!”

“Kuro, that's not how it works.” Shade said as she let out a groan, now getting pressured by five people to do it.

“Fine! I’ll ask him out!” Shade said as she gave in.

Now Shade is standing outside his lab and taking a deep breath. Being a brave woman and heading in. she knows he is there since she can smell him. He was on high up his platform. Shade to this day doesn’t know why he does that, but it doesn’t matter

“H-Hey Miguel! Have a minute?” Shade asked. Miguel looks down to see Shade there. He hadn’t noticed her coming in, since he was so focused on his work. He had been handling so many missions going on he was so drained. At least it wasn’t as bad before the Spot incident. The moment he saw Shade his mood brightened up a bit, Shade could sense it. Lyla pops in with a smirk, knowing that look her boss has. She knows Miguel has some feelings for Shade but he would never admit it. Miguel clears his voice as sudden dryness hits his mouth whenever Shade is near.

“Yes, Shade?” Miguel called down

“Uh, can you come down for a bit I need to tell you…something.”

Miguel raised an eyebrow wondering what she was going to ask him about. He put down the platform to meet her. The platform slowly comes towards her, Shade doesn’t have the guts to tell him that every time he does that it looks stupid. 

‘ It really does’ Kuro said in Shade’s mind, she just rolled her eyes. After like seems forever for him to get down. He got off from the platform and met with Shade who was sweating bullets now and trying to keep herself melting on the floor.

“You wanted to ask me something?” Miguel asked wondering what Shade going to ask. Shade mentally slapped herself to gain the courage to ask him. She got down on one knee and put her hands out.

“Will you go out with me?” She said blushing harder than ever before. Miguel had to stop himself from fainting. While Lyla couldn’t help but laugh. Shade now has a worried look on her face

“Uh did I do something wrong? This how we ask people out my earth.” 

“N-No. you just surprised me at all. Uh, that pose you doing…you do that if want to marry someone on my earth.”Miguel said while rubbing his head thinking 20 things at once

‘She really wants to go out with me?’ he thought. 

“Oh.” Shade said as she brought him back to her attention. “Well uh…do still want to go out with me? It's OK if you say no! I mean …this dumb just forget I say anything i-” Shade was so ready to leave already dying of embarrassment. She was about to head out the door but Miguel stopped her and grabbed her arm.

“Shade, wait.”

Shade looks back waiting for him to say no and how this is very unprofessional of her. But he didn’t say that. He was blush as much as she was. He clears his throat and tries to say the words.

“Shade… I would like to go out with you…if you want to?” he said looking away from her. Shade’s eyes were about to pop out of her sacket from how surprised she was by his answer. 

‘He really wants to go out with me?!’

“ Really big spider!? You want to go out with us- I mean Shade?!”

“Wow thank Kuro for the lack of confidence you have for me.”

“ Hey! I’m you remember? That's your damn problem!”

“Well, where do want to go?” Miguel said bringing Shade back to attention. Shade thought about and decide

“My Earth. I know a few places I can take you. Since it a weekend on my earth.”

“Alright, then I meet you there then.” 

Shade nodded, and then Miguel turned to Lyla whose glasses are red and usually mean one thing. Miguel hoped he was wrong. 

“Lyla, why the camera is on?” Miguel said with a glare. Lyla just smirks and then shows some monitors that have, Peter, Jess, Miles, Hobie, Peni, Gwen Pavitr, Noir, Ham, Margo, and even Ben. all have big grins on their face.

“Way to go Mr. O’Hara!” Pav said

“I knew you have in you Mig buddy.” Peter B. cheering for his friend

“Finally living for once aye boss,” Hobie said with the biggest grin out of all of them. 

“Uh, tío? Shade melting again.” Miles points out. Miguel turned around to see Shade’s leg was a puddle probably from the massive embarrassment she felt at that moment. 

“ Minasan wa dōsureba īdeshou ka.” She said in her sector language wanting to melt through the floor. 

Miguel swapped all of them and commanded Lyla to turn off her cameras which she did with a huff and her arms folded. 

“Man, you're no fun.” Lyla sticks out her viral tongue then she and monitors disappear. Miguel sighs as he picks up Shade so she can reform her legs. 

“Sorry for that. They always like to be in other people's business. Uh, what time do you want me to meet you there?”

“Why are you still not dressed?!” Peter said for the hundredth time to Miguel. Miguel just rolled his eyes, still in his Spider-Man outfit, as he made the last-minute check-up to make sure there were no anomalies on Shade’s earth. 

“Look, dude. I did say to leave it to me, Jess, and Ben. Stop being a workaholic for one minute and go enjoy yourself. You two deserve it.” 

“I know. I know. I just want to make sure everything is ok. Lyla can you-”

Lyla popped up next to him with her arm folded.

“Yes, yes, and yes. I check everything! Your good boss, now go have fun!” Lyla then opens a portal and Peter pushes Miguel towards it. Miguel had used his toe talons to keep him fully pushed in.

“Peter I swear if you guys-”

“Yeah, Yeah yell at us tomorrow. Now go!” Peter then pushes Miguel into the portal. Miguel landed outside Shade’s Lives which is an abandoned factory. Miguel really wants to help Shade out and give her a better place to live but she insists this for the best. She is still not sure if she can fully control her powers and doesn’t want to take the chance. Miguel decided to head in till he heard a noise. He turns to the trees to see Shade wavy her hand behind the tree hiding from him.

“Uh, Shade? Why are you hiding?” Miguel asked wondering why she hiding from him.

“You promise not to laugh?!” Shade said with a nervous tone, that Miguel couldn’t help but chuckle. Remind him of when he was young and tried to date Xina. 

“No. whatever you wear you will look…” Shade came out of the tree wearing a long dark blue dress. That was long-sleeves since was like Fall on her earth. She wears her long boots for once, to cover-up her blacken legs. Shade wasn’t wearing a face mask that covered her mouth. Instead, she was wearing makeup to cover her Chelsea smile and purple lipstick.  Miguel was enamored by her, not in her usual cover-up outfit. Shade looks at Miguel as he still wearing his spider outfit. “...Amazing.” 

“Uh, Miguel you not going out wearing that are you?” 

“Shock no. Give me a second.” 

Miguel then hit a button on his neck that turned his spider suit into a glitch mess till he wearing a long-sleeved black suit with black pants. Something that rich people on Shade’s earth would wear. He then pulls out a pair of sunglasses to cover his red eyes. 

*whistle* “Looking good tío!” 

Both Shade and Miguel’s eyes widen to look up in the tree to see Miles up there hanging upside down.

“Miles! What are you doing here?!” Miguel said not happy that the teen was here. Miles quickly put his out and took off his mask. 

“Whoo. whoo. Tío! I’m not going to bug you two on your date. I’m actually going to patrol Shade’s Earth while you two have fun. No one is going to ruin the date, not on our watch.”

“Our watch?” Miguel and Shade said at the same time wondering what Miles meant. he got down from the tree but he wasn’t the only one. As Gwen, Hobie, and Pavitr also came down from the tree

“ Aaawww your kids want to see you guys have a good time,”  Kuro said as she appeared in her rabbit form on Shade’s shoulder. Shade just rolled her eyes.

“OK ok. If you guys want to help. I allow it but remember-

“I can talk down Krazytown.” Gwen said

“Don’t engage the Six, especially Penny.” Pav said

“And?” Shade said while giving them a grin

“And mess up all Arachnidqueen’s blog shots.” Miles said with a grin as the kids love to mess up Shade’s arch nemesis’s blog

“Good. Just be safe too and don’t cause trouble.” Shade said sounding like a mother for once. Even Miguel was impressed when she took charge, all four of them gave her a salute and they swung off. 

“How much you want to bet it was Peter’s idea they here?” Shade said with a grin. Miguel just smirks back.

“Knowing him, 50 bucks. Oh, one more thing. Lyla”  Miguel called Lyla who smiled at them with her cheeky self, knowing what Miguel was about to ask her.

“Lyla can you-”

“Yep yep! I will be in sleep mode. Don’t call me unless it absolute emergency. You two crazy kids have fun.” Lyla said with a wink then she disappeared. Shade was impressed that Miguel would turn off Lyla for her. Shade also did the same. 

“Kuro?” 

“Yeah yeah. I know. I don’t want to date dumb big spider, but one more thing before I go.” 

Before Shade can react Kuro takes over Shade’s body. Miguel can tell because Shade’s roll over and turn from the vibrant purple to a cold silver. He knew Kuro had taken over which he was used to. Before he could say anything. Kuro grabbed him by the collar and brought him down to her eye level.

“Hurt Shade and I. hurt. you. Entiendes?” Kuro hissed as her eyes turned red. Miguel was not fazed by the threat but he took seriously knowing full well that Shade’s other half cared about her. 

“ I will take care of her Kuro. prometo.” Miguel said. Kuro growled before letting him go. She then gave control back to Shade who was holding her head from the switch. She noticed Miguel dust himself off. So putting two and two together what Kuro did. Kuro blocked her so she had no idea what he told him.

“What did Kuro say to you?” Not happy that her other half did that. Miguel didn’t look fazed though, which is a good thing.

“She said she would kill me if I hurt you in any way.”

“Sorry about that.”

“No. No. I’m not going to lie. My track record isn’t the greatest on dating.” 

Shade smiles “It's OK. I haven’t dated it for 5 years so let's take baby steps together.” 

Miguel nodded with a smile and put out his arm. Shade gave him a confessed look. Miguel looks at her and also confesses.

“We link arms, you don’t do this on your Earth?”

“Oh, I think so.” Shade then links her arms with his. Then Shade got an idea.

“I want to show you the park. Noticed that your earth doesn’t have the same tree as mine. It's not far from here” 

“All alright, lead the way,” Miguel said. Shade the pull Miguel which sometimes Miguel forgets despite her size she is stronger than she looks. Being half symbiote does that to you.  

It only took them a few min to get to the park from where they were. There were fewer people there, which both Miguel and Shade were happy about as both of them hated crowds. Miguel saw the trees in the park which were bioluminescent glowing whites something he had never seen before. Miguel put his hands on the tree and it felt oddly warm to the touch. 

“Do they naturally glow in the dark like this?

Shade nodded “Yes, that's why there are no street lights here. The tree let out a glow from the pureness of this world or that is what they said. Oh! if you see a black flower growing on the tree you are supposed to pluck it so Infinity won't get mad.” 

“Mm? Wait, isn't that your god or one of the gods on this earth?” Miguel asked. Shade nodded as she plucked one of the bioluminescent leaves. 

“There are two gods. There is Infinity who is the god of light while the god of darkness is Eternal. Did I ever tell you the story of the two gods?”

Miguel turns to her and shakes his head.

“ Oh well, the story goes, Infinity and Eternal were enemies. they fought and fought and fought. it says they fought for 7 days and 7 nights. on the last night in the final hour and child came to them. She asked ‘Why do you two fight? don't see what you have done? they stop fighting to see them make a beautiful place. where water runs, trees grow, and animals run free. The child then says: you made all this and me but you two didn't see it. so they stop fighting so they can see what they have created together.” 

“Wow, that's some…lore of your world.” 

Shade giggles “Well that's what my mother told me anyway” 

Miguel smiled but then noticed that there was a black flower behind Shade. He walks over to it a pluck from the tree. 

“Quick! Make a wish to Eternal. Otherwise, you get one year of bad luck!”

Miguel’s eyes widen. His luck is already shit he doesn’t want to make it worse nor does he want to risk it. He closed his eyes and made a wish, then he let go of the flower as it blew away.

Miguel turned back to Shade “What else do you want to do?” he asked  Shade was thinking. Miguel never explored her earth, and she wanted to take him sightseeing then she had an idea. 

“Let me take you to a secret place I know. Not even Alchmax knows about it.” 

Miguel raised an eyebrow wondering how that was possible. Alchmax owns like 90% of this earth. Well, in the shadows but they are in control here. Shade nodded and led him down the path near the end of the park. Shade looked around to make sure no one saw them as she opened the bushes that were covering the path. 

The path was long as going deep into the forest Miguel was surprised that this was even here in the middle of the city, they made it to the entrance of a cave.

“Here it is, this place off limits because of a creature living in it.” 

“Creature?” Miguel asked, Shade just giggled and showed him her symbiote's grin that symbiotes are known for. 

“Me. when I-I first got my power, I really couldn’t control my powers. Every time I try to calm myself I get triggered and go back to being Berzerk. I remember those times when it happened I ended up here. Come let me show you why.” Shade then grabs his hand and lends him in. They deeper into the cave, and Miguel heard the sound of water getting louder and louder till they reached the end there was the waterfall. The waterfall lets out rainbow-like glitter that gives the cave a unique shimmer, the water flow is so clear that they can see the bottom of the pool. 

Miguel was so mesmerized by the waterfall's beauty that he would never thought a place like this would be on this earth. 

“I also used this place to shower you know.”

“Huh?” Miguel was brought back to reality by Shade’s statement. She couldn't help but laugh knowing she would get this type of reaction. 

“Haha, I’m not joking. The water here has a sort of effect on me that helps me calm down. Andrea thinks there is something in the water that helps me stay more grounded. She still running some tests.” Shade then put her hand in the water, feeling the warmness that washed over her and into her body. 

“I wanted to show you these types of places, I know my earth isn’t great because Alchamax and the Valiant 6 control, but there is something hidden even to them.

Miguel smiled and nodded. Shade was about to say something else till her stomach growled loudly echoing through the cave. Miguel couldn’t help but chuckle while Shade blushed cursing the massive appetite that she had.

“Hungry?” Miguel said with a smirk while Shade pouted and crossed her arms. Not want to admit it.

“Yes. I do have reservations at a place.”

“You do?” 

Shade huffed and put her hands on her hips feeling very offended by his question

“Yes, I do. I know my track record of being banned from places is not great but this place knows me. So we should be fine. Also, she knows about how my and your appetites are.” Shade with a smirk while Miguel just rolled his eyes. He hates to admit that his appetite is big compared to most spiders, because of his DNA and the serum he used. 

“You got me. Lead the way.”Miguel said, Shade nodded as they both headed out of the cave. Shade explained that it was on the other side of town so would have to take the suspension train that took them to the other end of the town. Rush hour had already passed so as it was the start of the evening there were fewer people on the train. Miguel and Shade sat quietly both trying to figure out what to say to each other. Till the train passes through an open space to show a sunset. 

“Do you know this great time to see the sunset in the city?” Shade brings Miguel to her attention, Shade points to sunset.  Miguel has to block a bit of the sun even with his glasses his eyes are still very sensitive to the sun. Miguel gave a sad smile.

“I sometimes miss having normal eyes,” Miguel said quietly to himself but Shade was able to hear him due to her heightened hearing.

“I love your eyes.”

Miguel was taken back by her compliment, Shade was blushing but continued

“It was the first thing I noticed about you when I saw your face for the first time, without your mask. It reminds me of the sunset. I would come to a rooftop to watch it. It is one few things I enjoyed during the time I was in hiding. It made me happy.” Shade said reminiscing how life has been unfair for her for a long time. But she still powered on. 

“Your eyes are beautiful too,” Miguel said causing Shade to blush harder and try her best not to melt in front of everyone. Miguel put his arm around her to help her calm down.

“Your eyes are very unique. Never saw anyone with purple eyes before.”

“It is very common on my earth. I’m just surprised no one outside my earth has purple eyes.” 

“Well on you, they're amazing.”

“You really try to make me melt on the train?!” 

“No, but is kind of cute to see you blushing like this,” Miguel said with a smirk.

“Great ones, I never thought I heard the day you saying cute.”  Shade gives him a playful punch, and Miguel rubs his arm as from it. They both shared a laugh till they heard that their station was coming up. Once they stop and head to the place Shade was talking about which was just a few places away.

“I rented the whole place out just for us.” 

Miguel’s Eyes widened from surprise wondering how Shade was able to afford to rent this place. When got there, he recognized this place. This is where Shade works. Miguel helps Shade get a job on her Earth, mainly he doesn’t like the fact she usually steals all the time. If she was going to join the Spiders and be a hero, she would have to change her habits a bit. Shade didn’t mind, It made them feel more normal and her boss was awesome.

“Your boss let you rent the place to us?” Miguel asked and Shade nodded

“Yep! She knows I’m a big eater and told you also a big eater. So she was cool about it. Also, she is going to be-”

“Welcome!”

Miguel and Shade turn around to see a very short old lady. She smiled at the two couples. She grabbed both of their hands before they could react.

“Oye! Your Miguel right? Welcome! Welcome! Shade told me a lot about you. My name is Mama Jo. you look so skinny! Let me fix that.” she pulled the two in or at least tried to since they were taller than her. Miguel remembered that restaurant cafe-style kind of place. It kind of reminds him of Peni’s Earth’s restaurants. It looks fusion of Japanese, Italian, and American foods something that is standard in this city. Mama Jo lends them to their table. Miguel up a chair for Shade to sit. Once sat down he sat across from her. 

“Let me bring you something to eat.” Mama as she headed back leaving the two of them. Shade trying to think of something to talk about. She never really was good at small talk. Same for Miguel, even with the persona he used when he had to be plain old Miguel, he tries not to talk much either. And he now trying to figure out what to say to this woman she has grown attached to.

“Uh… do you have a family?” Shade asked to try to be a brave woman. She immediately regrets asking that one. Miguel winks from the question, hoping she doesn’t ask that one.

“Nevermind I didn’t mean to! I was just wondering and-”

“No. It is ok. Well, the only living family I have is my brother. I haven’t talked to him in a year ever since the Goblin incident.”

“Goblin Incident?”

Miguel took a sip of the water and shook his head. 

“That a different story for a different time.” 

“Understandable.” 

“You?”

Shade raises an eyebrow on the question since Miguel knows about her family situation.

“I mean, There's that kid Timothy that usually follows you.” Miguel said remember the kid helped him during the time he was here taking Shade's place. Shade smiles a bit from thought.

“He's a cool kid, I heard he going to online School now. I wish for him to go to a normal School. But CRs are still being hunted down and not accepted in the sector.” Shade said with a sadden look as she just held her water. It has been 9 years and still trying to fix her world. She doesn’t know how can fix it. As she thought and wondered, she didn’t realize Miguel was holding her hand. Causing her to blush a bit. Miguel can tell she feels uneasy about How the sector is right now.

“Hey, He getting an education. I know you wish he could have a normal life. But right now he has you. You were able to give him another chance.” Miguel said, Shade swore her heart skipped a beat with his words. Before she can respond. A bunch of food was served on to table. Japanese, Italian, and American food Miguel figured since this is what the cafe was known for, but he was really surprised to see some Mexican cuisine. 

“Shade here said you half-Mexican or whatever that means. But that Sector 18 food Shade show me so I hope you don’t mind that to some liberty to make you some of your food. Also, want to try making it for once.” Mama Jo said as she gave Miguel 5 different plates towards him. “Now you better eat up you hear!” She said as left the two again. Miguel stared at his plates of food.

‘Is this what having a grandma is like’ he thought thinking about which plate he should start. Miguel looked at Shade who was wolfing down food and clearly on her four plate. Miguel and the others got used to Shade’s eating habits but it was still something. Shade swallowed then noticed that Miguel wasn’t eating, she thought he was just overwhelmed by all this food.

“You try that one!” Shade pointed to one of the dishes, It was a pasta dish, It looked like Alfredo pasta. Miguel took a bite of it and he had to say; this was one of the best pasta he had ever tasted and wasn’t even a pasta person. For once he wants to eat like Shade, but he reframes from that

“So what do you think?” Shade asked trying to make sure she didn’t drool acid onto the table.

“It's great, this put Manspiders’s food to shame.”

“Don’t tell him that! Or he won’t give you any more empanadas.” Shade said pointing to the dish on his right.

“That is donburi bowel, it is a dish I help make. It has rice, Eggs, soy sauce, onion, and whatever meat you want on it! And you can eat breakfast, lunch, and dinner and-” Shade stopped and realized she had been rambling on about food and thought it dumb.

“Sorry. I didn’t mean to rumble on about that.”

“I didn’t mind, this most I heard you talk. You usually don’t talk much and… it's nice to hear you talk. Special something that you are good at. I know you felt kind of an outcast since almost all the spiders are like…genius and whatnot.” Miguel then took a bit of the donburi bowl, and this one was better than the pasta dish. Miguel couldn’t help but smile as it was so good!

“Well?”

“You thought of this dish?” Miguel as he took another bite, Shade shook her head

“No, my mom did. We didn’t have much so she thought of this to save money.” Shade was reminiscing about her mom and how she would make this all the time. It made her feel warm all the time. Not because of the taste but because her mom made it for her. 

“We did the best we could on what we had.”  Shade said taking another bite. She could feel she was getting teary eyes. Shade didn’t want to cry in front of Miguel. She soon felt someone touching her hand that was on the table. She looked at it was Miguel’s hand he wiped away the one tear that snuck out. 

“I know. And you are strong for that.” 

Before can say anything else Mama Jo came back with more dishes. She looked at Shade and gave her a pat on the shoulder

“Now.Now Shade. You promise remember?” Mama Jo said. Shade promised her she’d have a good time for once. Shade wiped her tears took another bite of her food with a smile and nodded to Mama Jo. Mama Jon then looks at Miguel.

“And you mister, you better eat up before you become skin and bones.”

Miguel nodded as took another bite of food. Not wanting to disappoint this old lady. He really wants to adopt this lady to be his grandma. After like 20 minutes they destroyed a ton of food together. Miguel was for once, it was kind of nice to eat for once. 

“It's good right?” Shade said wiping her lip as best she could. 

“It was a delicious Ms.Jo. Gracias.” Miguel said 

“Oh por favor, call me Mama Jo. I make sure that all my kids get fed good and well. Now who wants Dissert?” 

Shade put her hands up. “Actually Mama Jo, me and Miguel will come back later. I want to take him since it's late and there shouldn’t be a lot of people there.” 

Mama nodded understanding that Shade wanted to take Miguel somewhere and she had an idea where they going next. 

“Ok dearly, I’ll make sure I save it nice and fresh for you both. Oh and Shade you might want to put more makeup on before you head out.” Mama pointed out. Shade’s mouth was getting wider and wider during dinner till the point her teeth were now showing on the side of her face. 

“Oh! I be right back Miggy.” Shade then quickly got up and headed to the bathroom to fix up. Mama Jo was giggling from Shade's shyness something that had never changed after all these years. 

“I'm glad she was able to find someone like you.”  Mama Jo said out of nowhere, catching Miguel off guard by the statement. 

“She hasn’t been happy for five years now. I’m glad she was able to come back to us. She never forgave herself what happened, to my Grandson.” 

“You mean Patrick?”

Mama Jo looks up surprised that Miguel knows about her Gandson. 

“Shade only told me little about him. He was her friend who took care for a while. He also worked for this earth Alchamax, he was found out and was turned into the Lizard. Shade didn’t know it was him before it was too late.” 

“She blamed herself for but we never did. It was Alchamax who turned him into that monster, not her.” Mama Jo said with bitterness in her voice. Miguel silently growled hated the thought that Alchamax could do that. How many others mess up things they did on this earth?

“She was so scared to move on you know.? She thought I'd hate her for moving on. but it is quite the opposite. I want her to move on. Patrick would have wanted that for her. Can you promise me you take care of her?” Mama Jo asked as she held Miguel’s hand. Miguel was never a huge fan of those types of promises. He has let many down in the past for making them. But he relented.

“I Promise, I will do everything in my power to protect her.” Miguel said. Mama Jon smiles knowing she can trust this man to take a woman that she considers her Granddaughter. Shade came back and noticed the two talking. 

“What you guys talking about?” 

Mama Jo turns to Shade with a Smile at Shade.

“Oh nothing. I was telling him about the time you, Uni, and Pat threw up during your Mid School’s play.” She giggles which causes Shade to blush from the incident. 

“H-Hey! Don’t tell him that!”

“Or should I tell him the time you-”

Shade then grabs Miguel and heads out the door with him. Miguel was surprised by her sudden strength. 

“We are back Jo, love you bye!” Shade yelled while she and Miguel were heading out the door. Mama Jo smirked at the two. Once they got far away from the restaurant, Shade was catching her breath not from running but from the embarrassment she just had. She then heard a laugh and she turned around to see Miguel laughing. 

“What so funny?” Shade said as she was blushing harder

“HaHa! Nothing! Nothing! It is the reaction you have. I forget how easily embarrassed you get. It brings you out more.” Miguel said wiping the tears he got from the laugh. He looked back at Shade who was melting to the ground. Miguel’s eyes were wide and quickly pulled Shade up so she could pull herself together.

Shade snapped out her fazed. Never realized that Miguel had a cute laugh that made her actually melt. 

“Never mind that!” Shade said out loud but it was more to herself than Miguel. She then grabbed his hand.

“I…I want to take you somewhere that is very important to me. If you don’t mind” 

Miguel nodded as he held Shade’s hands, too much to her surprise. He feels so nice and warm.  Shade shakes her head to snap out of it. She leads Miguel to the place. It was a nice quiet walk to their destination. They both took in the scenery as they walked. No crime, no Valiant Six to bug Shade. The multi-verse wasn’t endangered for once, Miguel could breathe for once. They both know never to jinx this. 

They finally made it to their destination: a Graveyard. Miguel was a little creep out for Shade's choice to take him it a dark creepy graveyard. But he is not a type of judge, especially for someone who lives in an abandoned factory. They made it to the far end of the graveyard two graves were under a white tree similar to one that Miguel saw in the park. 

“This where my parent is.” Shade pointed to the graves in front of them. Miguel looked at the graves, and he saw the names:  Hikaru Usagi and Aurora Usagi. With words:

Let the Great ones find them and give them the peace they deserve. 

“I come here once a week, I-I still miss them after all these years. I thought by now I would be over them. but…I can’t…no matter what, I’ll always be responsible for their death. it's still over my head. If I haven’t been bor-  before Shade could finish that sentence she felt being pulled in by Miguel. As he hugged her close chest too much of Shade was surprised.

“Deja eso ahora mismo.” Miguel whispered to Shade not wanting her to say her very existence was a mistake. It wasn’t her fault all this had happened. Miguel has been through that road before. Know what feels like to be seen as a mistake. He remembers all the time his Mother would remind him what he is. No one should feel like there was a mistake. 

“You didn’t know that would happen Shade. They would be so proud that you have gone this far and helped a bunch of people. Even though this world labels you a monster. You kept proving them wrong.” Miguel said as he looked Shade in the eye to tell her. Her purple meets his red, they seem so deadly to others but not to her. The eyes she grew to love. Shade quickly wiped the tear that snuck out. 

“Thank. It means so much to me to hear that.” 

Shade kneel at the graves and put her hands together to pray. Miguel decides to kneel next to her. He learned over many travels he should be respectful of the culture and how each earthwork. 

“Hi mama. Hi papa. I’m sorry I haven’t talked to you for a while. I want some time for myself. I want to be a brave girl, that you hope I be. Uh… I guess I introduced you to Miguel. He uh…” Shade wondering what they are now. This first date and to be honest she had only been on one date and that was with her best friend Patrick. She doesn’t know if it is any different on other Earth. Miguel also doesn’t know what they are either, it was one date to be fair he would love to be Shade’s boyfriend. But with his track record on all his past relationships he kind of scared. Dana didn’t work out. Tempest was a one-time thing. And Xina is…gone. He was so scared that something like that would take it away. Every form of happiness he ever got goes up in flame. 

“He someone I’m proud to have found.” Miguel snapped out of his painful train of doubt hearing what Shade had. 

“He was a guy I told you about, he was mean and kind of a what that word Hobie used all the time? Oh a cunt.” Shade said with a smirk while Miguel just rolled his eyes. 

“But he a nice guy, he funny, he strong, he smart, he has some money I think? He has great friends that take care of me. I know that you two always worry about mean. But it's like you always said Dad: I find my own way” 

Shade then got up and so did Miguel, Shade grabbed Miguel’s hands. 

“There is one more person I want you to meet.” Shade leads Miguel a couple of graves down to show the grave of Shade’s best friend, Patrick Connors. Miguel looks over to Shade who has a soft smile.

“He was my best friend and at the time the only remaining family I have. Mama Jo and they took me in. Patrick try everything in my power to help. But…”

“Say no more. I understand.” 

They stood there for what felt like forever, till Shade took a deep breath 

“One of the last things he told me: Promise me that you keep going. On my Earth death isn’t end. It when you stop living, that when it ends.” 

“Your earth does have some beauty to it. I kind of regret banning it. Never giving it a chance.” 

Shade giggles remembering that her Earth was banned. Looking back at it she wouldn’t blame him. Her Earth is kind of messed up and her Alchmax is one of the worst. 

“I don’t blame you. If I was you I would of done the same thing. Come on let go for a walk.” 

They walk down the street and see fewer people now since it is late a night. Looking up at the full moon tonight glowing down at the pair. They didn’t want the night to end, it was so peaceful. Shade put on her face mask to make her feel comfortable as they walk back to the abandoned Factory. 

“Thank you, for going out with me.” Shade said “It…It made me feel normal for once.” 

“No, I should be thank you for taking me out. I can’t believe I saying this but Peter is right. I needed this. It was nice for a minute. Nice not to worry about everything going to shit for once.”  

“Yeah.”

Both Miguel and Shade lock eyes. The eyes they grow to love, her vibrant purple that reminds him when the moon hits the water just right. While for Shade, Miguel’s eyes remind her of the sunset. Never understand how these same eyes can spark fear but be so beautiful at the same time. Neither of them noticed the other as Miguel pulled down Shade’s face mask while she took off his sunglasses to see his beautiful eyes. They both lean in for a kiss, Shade is surprised Miguel is kissing her, hell she is surprised she kissing him. Before neither can react a flash of light came out nowhere surprising both of them.

Both were about to engage the person when they saw the four Spider-kids hanging in the tree smirk at the couple. 

“H-How long you guys been there?” Shade said blushing that she kissed Miguel. On the lips. In front of them.

“Well, we follow you guys most of the time and- Hobbies said as Lyla came out being all red as they were being filmed again. 

“You four are so grounded.” Miguel hissed through his teeth his eyes glowing slightly from the embarrassment he feeling. 

“Uh Mr, O’Hara. Shade melting again.” Pav pointed to Shade who was melting on the ground. Lyla giggles

Venomgirl Christmas special

Shade was wondering what was going on at the Spider-society headquarters. There were decorations all over the place. Weird stars down from the ceiling. There were two types of candle holders. One with eight while the other with seven. And there was a giant tree in the middle of HQ that was being decorated by Margo and Gwen. 

“What's going on? Is this someone's birthday or something?” Shade asked Her Symbiote-half Kuro form on her shoulder.

“ Yeah ghost spider. What's going on?”

Gwen and Margo look down at Shade. 

“They were just sent up the Christmas tree and getting ready for the holidays since they are coming up next week,” Gwen said. Shade and Kuro gave her a confession look, wondering what a Christmas tree was. Margo can tell Shade was confessed

“Do you have Christmas on your earth?” Margo asked

“No?” 

“How about Hanukkah?”

“Hanu-what?”

“Kwanzaa?” 

Shade shook her head “You say words I never heard of. Is this like a spider thing you guys do?” 

Both girls giggle 

“No Shade for most Spiders, they celebrate one of these holidays. For me, I'm Jewish so I celebrate Hanukkah. Margo Kwanzaa. Hobie just celebrates whatever seems to be the least capitalized. Miles,42, Peni and Pav do Christmas.”

Shade nodded trying to get what Gwen was telling her.

“Do I need to pick one?”

“Well no, don’t have something around this time of the year,” Margo asked

“We have the Winter Festival that we do in February and the day of light. That one on December 25.”

“Oh so you do have Christmas or at least something similar,” Gwen said 

“What is the day of light?”

Shade spits out her phone and pulls up a picture of the Gods they worship in her world. One has a white veil while the other has a black veil. "So the one white is Infinity the god of light while the black veil is Eternal the god of Darkness. The Day of Light is a celebration of Infinity. The day of darkness would have fallen on your guy's Halloween, I think?”

“Wow, well do you want us to put something up for your holiday? We try to make sure every earth gets its holiday celebrated.” Margo said while Shade shook her head. 

“No need. I want to see what your holiday is all about if you don’t mind.”

“Sure, uh which one?

“All of them.” Shade said with a smile. Both Gwen and Margo were surprised that Shade wanted to celebrate three holidays. Then again they forget Shade never got to experience things since she had to stay hidden. Shade wants to finally live for the moment.

“OK then. Well on my Earth the first day of Hanukkah why do I swing by my Earth? Peter Noir and MJ will be there.” Gwen said.

Shade nodded as she headed over to Miguel’s Lab to talk to him. Shade got close to Miguel during the events that were happening on her Earth. He trains her to get better control of her powers and to be a better hero. So he must know these holidays that Gwen was talking about. Also to hang with him. Once in the lab, it is always dark mainly because of Miguel’s eyes. She saw Miguel looking at the screens, checking on anomalies. 

“ Hey big spider, what are you doing?” Kuro yelled while Shade groaned, not wanting to announce they were there. Miguel turns around, blinking fast probably from overly focused on the screens. Shade wishes he would stop doing that.

“Yes, Shade?” He asked when Kuro talked if Shade wanted to ask a question, it was just her ‘other’ beat her to it. 

“I was wondering what you do on your Earth during this time of the year?” 

Miguel gave her a questionable look with his eyebrows raised, confused about what Shade was talking about. Lyla, his A.I. Pop out of nowhere and shows Miguel the calendar on what Month it is. 

“Oh, you mean the holidays?”

Shade nodded “Yeah, Gwen said she does Hanukkah a Jewish Holiday. I don’t know what that is. So I’m going to join her to know what it is. Do you also do that one? There are two other holidays this month.”

“No, I don’t do Hanukkah or Kwanzaa.” 

“Oh, how about the Christmas one? It seems that one is meant for everyone.” Shade asked. Miguel just looks away. Miguel doesn’t do Christmas. Not anymore, ever since Gabriella. Miguel stays away all the Holidays, especially Christmas. 

“You should go ahead and enjoy Hanukkah with Gwen and them. I need to get back to work.” Shade was going to ask but Miguel went back to work. Shade has the feeling that she shouldn’t press it anymore. She was about to leave.

“I’ll bring back something!” Shade called out as she left. Miguel couldn’t help but smile. Funny how she was cold and small and is now more open to talking to everyone and experiencing everything she can.

“That woman.”

Shade Teleported to Gwen’s Earth, It was nighttime on her Earth. Shade transforms her outfit and wears her face mask just in case someone from outside the Spiders is there. 

Shade knocks on Gwen’s door to her apartment and Gwen opens the door, 

“Hey, You made it! Come in oh don’t worry it's just us Spider and my dad.” Gwen led Shade into the house, she had only been there a couple of times mainly to drop Gwen off when she was hurt from the missions. Shade saw Peter B., His MJ, Mayday, Noir, and Hobie. Also Gwen’s dad. Shade waved at everyone with a smile behind her facemask.

“Oh, I brought a cake that I made. I didn’t know if I was supposed to bring something or not.” Shade said as she gave the cake to Gwen. 

“Well you didn’t have to but thanks. You just in time. We were about to light the candle.” 

Shade gave her a curious look “Candle?” 

Gwen nodded as she led Shade to the table everyone also gathered around it to see an eight-head candle holder, it was a strange shape. 

“So before we light the candle, we recite the Shehecheyanu, a Jewish prayer to express gratitude to God. it will begin at the start of Hanukkah. It's up to you if you want to join. I don’t want you to think you're being forced to pray.” 

Shade shook her head “No, I am honored to join your ways. The Great Ones don’t need true loyalty. They love no matter what we do that doesn’t go against life.”  

Gwen nodded wondering what Shade meant but she was happy that Shade could join in. They all held hands while Gwen’s dad recited Shehecheyanu: 

“Blessed are You, Adonai our God, Sovereign of all, who has kept us alive, sustained us, and brought us to this season.”

After that, George lights the first candle and then blows out the candle lighter. Shade was wondering why he wasn’t going to light up the other seven candles.

“So we only light up one candle per day for the next eight days,” Gwen explain

“Really? So this lasts for eight days?” 

Gwen nodded “Yep, you are free to join us for all of them or a few if you want.” 

Shade nodded, she then looked around to see what everyone was doing. Hobie was playing with a dreidel with Mayday who was giggling at it. The toy reminded her of those Beyblades that were popular when she was a kid. Look some more to see Peter and MJ exchanging gifts with Noir and George. Gwen walks over to Shade with a tray of food. There was an assortment of jelly donuts and chocolate coins.

“Here have some-” Gwen didn’t get to finish as Shade shoveled most of the food down in one gulp. George looks over to Peter and wonders if this is normal for Shade. They nodded. 

“Glad I made a tray just for you.” Gwen giggles and prepares for Shade's eating habits. Shade just blushed while Kuro was laughing on her shoulders. The rest of the night everyone enjoyed themselves.

Shade decided to join Gwen for each day of Hanukkah for the next seven days. It was nice to get to know the other's days and what each candle represents. After that Shade decided to explore the next Holiday that was coming up. Which was Christmas. 

“So there are two things about Christmas?” Shade asked Miles, as it was her, Miles, Peni, and 42. Hobie tagged along since have nothing better to do. They were on Peni’s earth since she had more cool stuff compared to theirs. 

“So there is a religious side and a non-religion. But the point is that it is a get-together Holiday for all three, but Christmas is usually the one most people do.” Miles explained. 

“I see. So we just buy gifts for a person?” 

“Yep, we feed more to capitalism to keep the pigs fed nice and happy,” Hobie said as everyone just rolled their eyes. Knowing Hobie hates all that is capitalism. 

“Ignore him, do you have any good tech Peni? Would like to get Liz and Uncle Aron some new tech toys.” 42 asked trying to change the subject, Peni nodded

“Yep, there are new computers that are pretty cheap. And since your earth doesn't have them, they are the hit of the town.” Peni turns to Shade 

“What do you want to get for Miguel?” Peni said with a smirk which caused Shade to blush. Kuro giggles quietly in public.

“W-What do you mean?!” 

“Come in love, you want to buy that old cunt a gift. He probably could have used one” Hobie said with a smirk with his arms wrapped around Shade. Funny that even though Hobie is taller than Shade, he is way younger than her. 

“While you guys help lovesick women here, me and Miles are going to the tech shop to get that stuff.”  42 said while he and Miles headed their ways

“You two better behave and not get in trouble! Or Miguel going to have your heads!” Shade shouted out to the two boys. 

“Ok, Mom!” Miles said knowing this would make Shade blush and sure enough, she was.

“What!?” Shade shouted back to Hobie and Peni laughed and dragged Shade to the way there was going. Peni trying to think what her boss would like, Shade was also wondering what she should give Miguel and the others. 

“Oh! How about this store?” Peni pointed to what seemed like a gift shop.  It Looks like an older couple works there. Hobie grin

“Ah! A mom-and-pop store. My kind of store.”  Hobie said which is the first hearing from Hobie since he is not the type to shop. 

“Well, I'll take a look.” Shade said as they entered the store. There was a bunch of stuff that seemed more from her Earth because it was less technological than most stuff in Peni’s world. Shade sees a bunch of Ocarinas, and she is amazed that this earth has them. They also have good qualities, thinking she can buy them for the kids.

‘ Or can we steal them?’ Kuro said in Shade’s mind. Shade rolled her eyes, changing her ways. She looks around and then lands on music boxes. Shade figures that these might not be in Miguel’s time. 

“What are you looking at, mate?” Hobie said as he came from behind her as she tried to pick out one music box. 

“Trying to pick out a music box. You are better than me with music since listening to sound is… my weakness. Shade grabbed one of the boxes, blew up the box, and began to play its melody. 

“Mmmm… how about you make one?” Hobie stated 

“Uh, what?! No no no! I can’t make something like this.” Shade stuttered at the thought of making something this completed in a short time. She doesn’t even know what type of melody Miguel would like. Hobie smirks knowing Shade is thinking about how she is going to do it. Trying to get this woman more confident in her abilities. She sees what she can do. 

“I believe in you mate. Hell, the boss man would like anything you give him. He's going to love either way.” 

Shade blushed at the comment, trying to keep herself from melting in public. 

“Really?”

“Yeah, mate. What we told you about that confidence?” Hobie playfully punches Shade’s Shoulder; she just smirks at him. For a guy who is younger and taller than her, she does act like a grown-up. Shade nodded at the gift Idea and bought Ocarinas for everyone else so she could head back to meet up with Miles and 42. She is just glad they didn’t get into trouble, unlike last time.

“You boys got what you want?” Shade asked. Miles and 42 nodded.

“We took care of some thieves that tried to rob the place, you welcome Peni.” 42 said with a smirk while Peni stuck out her tongue, treating the two boys like they were her brothers. Miles turns to Shade.

“You're coming over to the Christmas party at my place right?” 

Shade nodded “Yes, don’t understand why you want to do it early, since Christmas is tomorrow on your earth. 

Mile just chuckled, “For Puerto Ricans, we start our Christmas at midnight, so we start ours early.” Miles turns 42 “Hey let's go help my mom and you can bring your mom, Aron, and Liz.”

“Oh, do you need my help?” Shade asked, wanting to help out with the festivities. Miles shook his head. 

“Do sweat Shade. Take care of it, you can bring something if you want. My mom loves your earth’s Conchas.”

“I'll make sure they the fresh. And make sure me and Kuro don’t eat it all hehe.” 

“ No promises,” Kuro said with a smirk while Shade rolled her eyes. Then Shade gave everyone their gifts. Everyone gave her a confused look. Shade was thinking she must have done something wrong.

“Did I do something wrong? I gave you what I was supposed to do, right?”

Peni giggled then said “Well you have the right Shade. You were supposed to wrap them up and give it to us on Christmas. Also, you are supposed to put it under a Christmas tree.” Peni then shows Shade the picture of a Christmas tree. Similar to the one Gwen and Margo put up days before. This is a very weird holiday to Shade.

“Oh, ok uh should I wrap them up?” Shade asked everyone nodded, and then Hobie walked up to her with some wrapping paper.

“If you want I can help to wrap the rest up for you. Since this is your first time.” Hobie then opened a portal to his earth, Shade nodded as she and Hobies headed to his world. While Peni, Miles, and 42 head to Miles’s Earth to get ready for the party.

“Have an idea what type of melody you will put in the box?” Hobie asked as he was wrapping the remaining gifts that Shade brought. Shade was still thinking about what song to put in the box. Hobie could tell she stomped on this so they gave her a suggestion.

“Well, I travel to a lot of Earths to get music ideas and I went to one of your Empress’s choices. Your Tempest is a great singer. But anyway, there should be some of your Earth music.” 

Shade went over to Hobie's stash of music, there were a bunch of songs from her earth, some she recognized. Some she had never heard of. There was one that she was drawn towards the most. It was like something in her heart telling her ‘This is the one’

“This is the one.” Shade said as she took the music piece. Both Hobie and Kuro look at Shade wondering which one she picked. Kuro hopped on Shade’s shoulder to take a look at what she found.

“ That one?”

“Yep, don’t love it?’ 

“Shade, I'm you. Of course, I love it. Bet going make a big spider wet his pants and give me pancakes!!”

Shade rolled her, and Hobie laughed like how she talked to herself. 

“Well, now you just gotta make it and give it to him.”

“Yeah. making it is going to be the hard part.”

“No, giving him is going to be the hard part,” Hobbies stated which got Shade to be a concern about the statement. Would he not like the gift?

“Bossman hasn't been the same since his kids eased. He stopped celebrating things. Christmas is usually hard on him so he locks himself away and lets us have fun. Miles tried to invite him but he declined.” 

Shade nodded understanding what he meant, seeing how everyone wanted to spend time together during these times. It makes her feel sad how he chose to be alone and then spend time with others. They treat him like he is part of the family. Doesn’t he want to join them? 

“Well, I wish you luck then, oh here.” Hobie tosses an empty woodbox to her. 

“I take these gifts to others if you want so you have one less thing to worry about.”

Shade nodded as she made a portal to her world and she jumped in. Shade got to work making music boxes, something she hadn’t done since she was a kid to try to make extra money for her family. After a few tinkering and tests…

“And done!”  Shade said as she carved out symbols on the box with blue and red designs like Miguel’s usual colors. She was a little extra surprised when he opened it. 

“Hope he likes it.” Kuro rolled her eyes while eating food and waiting for her other half to finish working on the box. 

“ Shade, he's going to love it. If he doesn’t I will beat Big Spider’s ass and drag him to the party so he can join us.” 

“How about we don’t do that.” Shade then called Lyla to see what was going on.

“Heya Shadey, what is going on with you?” Lyla asked 

“Oh. nothing much finished some stuff I was wondering what Miguel is doing. Is he going to party?”

Lyla pops in and out then looks at Shade with a sad look. Knowing that her creator doesn't want to join in Christmas activities. 

“He doesn't join them, he is in his lab watching for anomalies.”

“ Man, would it kill him to take a break from that?” Kuro said but both she and Shade wished Miguel could join the others. This seems like the time to be with someone. Shade decided to wrap the music box the best she could and then made a portal to Miguel's lab knowing he was there. 

The portal opened right outside of his lab. It was quiet at HQ, no one was around. Shade was guessing that everyone was having their holiday celebration on their earth. She went into Miguel’s lab, as she entered it was dark as usual she decided to quiet me and continue deeper in the lap. Her abilities allow her to be unnoticed if she concentrates. When she enters the open space where the platform is, she sees it high up and can see Miguel there. He looks like he is looking at a video, Shade can hear the video from down where she is from, she can hear his voice and a little girl. 

“Papa! I saw Santa gave me a teddy bear that I wanted! I was a good girl this year!”

“ You are always a buena niña.” 

“Open the gift I gave you!”

“Wow! You made this?”

“Yep, you love it?!”

“Amo todo lo que hagas, Gabi” 

Shade’s eyes widened to realize what the video was about. It was him with Gabriella. She doesn't know how long since Gabriella disappeared. The only thing she knew about Gabriella was that she was not his daughter but she treated her like she was his own. And when her Earth collapsed he was never the same or that was what she was told. Shade couldn’t imagine how he felt, but one thing she knew was that he shouldn’t suffer alone. 

Shade transforms her legs so she can jump high to reach the platform, she then climbs up on it. Once she got on it Miguel didn’t turn around knowing it was Shade. 

“You know, staring at the screen for too long is going to hurt your eyes, especially your eyes.”

“Should you be at the party?” Miguel said taking his eyes off the video. Shade stepped forward to look at the video of him and Gabriella training gifts, the thing Gabriella made for Miguel was a necklace that said ‘mejor padre’. Shade glanced down at his desk to see him holding that very same necklace she made. 

“I'm going to join them soon but…” 

“You don’t have to worry about me Shade, just go have fun.” 

“But I want to have fun with you there!” Shade shouted with the sudden outburst that took both her and Miguel by her outburst. Miguel turns around to reveal he has tears in his eye and she can tell he's been crying. Tears began to fall from her eyes, both forgetting that Shade is half-symbiote so she is more prone to feel other people's emotions. 

“I wish you weren’t so vucking stubborn,” she said as she tried to wipe the tears. Miguel handed her a tissue 

“Well, sorry that's how I am. If you don't need anything then you can leave.” Miguel was about to go back to Video but Shade summoned her tendrils to block the video. Miguel was about to yell at her before she grabbed him by his face so she could look into his eyes.

“Look, I know you are hurting. I can feel it, but I know you want to join the other but you feel like you don’t deserve to have…any enjoyment. But that is not true!”  then Shade hugged him. “She wouldn’t want this for you.” 

Miguel took a deep breath and hugged her back. He knows Shade means well. Not only her but Miles and them. Wanting them to join them and be in their lives. But how could he? He caused so much trouble no matter what he did, it was just best that he stayed out of their way. Funny, how neither Miles nor Shade refused to do that. 

Shade let go of him and then gave him a poorly wrapped gift to Miguel. Miguel looks at it, surprised by the gifted.

“Miles said that you exchange during this time.” Shade points to the clock on the screen on the left to Miguel he looks to see It's midnight on his Earth so it's Christmas for him now. 

“I-I made it. It was my first time making this so it might not…” 

While Shade was talking Miguel unwrapped the gift to see a red and blue music box. It has his spider symbol. He never saw a working music box, the last time he saw one was when Xina showed him one in one of her retro collections. Too bad It wasn't working so they never knew what it sounded like nor could they find another one. Miguel opened the box to see its notes. He saw the wind-up part and tried to wind it up

It played a melancholy melody but at the same time, it had a somber tone to it. Miguel saw the words inside the box 

“You always be our hero”

Miguel stared and listened to the melody probably the first time he liked something from the ‘retro era’ 

“Sorry it's not much, but I wanted to give something from the heart you know.” 

“ You better like the big spider! We skip meals because of-”

Both Kuro and Shade were surprised as Miguel quickly hugged them. Tears began to fall in Shade’s eyes knowing they were not hers but Miguel’s. But despite it, there weren’t tears of sadness, more like joy, something it is really hard to express.

“Thank you Shade…it's a very nice gift.” Miguel wiped away his tears.

“I don’t have anything to give you.”

“Well…there is one thing you can give me.”

Miles and they were waiting for midnight to open gifts, but Miles was wondering where Shade was as she should have been here by now. His mom Ria even wonder

“Hey, where is your strange friend? Is she okay?” 

“She is not that strange mom, she likes us.”

“Right, having a foul-mouth rabbit thing and leaking acid. She still owes me a table, you know.” 

Miles rolled his eyes then everyone heard a knock at the door, Miles opened the door thing it Shade finally made it everyone was surprised at who she brought with her,

“Miguel?” everyone said, surprised to see him. Shade smiled while Miguel looked away, not used to being at parties since the last party he went to was a dumb Alchemax party he was forced to go to. 

“ We brought the Conchas !” Kuro said breaking the awkward stare and silence. Peter was the first to break the silence, giving Miguel a big-O grin while Mayday climbed on top of Miguel.

“Hey, Miggy! I knew you would make it.” Peter teased while elbowing Miguel who was groaning. Peter then hugs Shade and whispers into her ear. “How you do?”

Shade just smirks “My little secret.” Shade then gave everyone their gifts. She saw Gwen and her dad Goerge. 42, his mom, Aron, and earth-42 Lizard. Peni, Noir, ham, Margo, Jess, Pavitr, Hobie and Ben were all here. Shade was happy and surprised that all these people were there. Mile walks up to Shade and hands her a gift.

“What this?”

“Your gift. We all pitch in to find it for you.” 

Shade opens it to take out the purple ball. Shade was confused till she sensed what the ball was. It was symbiotic, Shade was confused by this gift.

“Don’t worry, it is a non-sentient symbiote. Miguel and they were trying to see if this helped Kuro to make colored clothes. You did say you would like to wear more colored clothes than black and white.” 

Shade turned to Miguel who was slightly blushing, not knowing that he helped. Shade smiles happy about the gift. She removed her mask to eat the purple ball, for a split second her hair turned purple and Shade shivered from the feeling of eating a symbiote, she’ll never get used to it. Gwen, Pavitr, and Hobie walk up to Miles and Shade.

“So…How do you feel?” Pravitr asked. Shade shook her head

“I’m fine. Uh, are you sure this is non-sentient? I did not feel anything. How about you Kuro?” Shade looks at Kuro whose eyes widen and she looks around the room like it's her first time being there. 

“Kuro?” 

“ What that?” Kuro pointed to Gwen’s green sweater. Everyone wondered what Kuro meant. 

“You mean my sweater?” Gwen said as she still didn’t what Kuro was talking about. Kuro hopped onto Gwen’s shoulder the pointed to Gwen’s sweater again

“ No no. this color…I had never seen it before. The whole room is different now.” 

Everyone's eyes widen realizing that Kuro can see other colors. Shade grabbed Kuro off Gwen’s shoulder, and then pointed to the blue cup that was on the table. 

“Is that black, white, or red to you?”

“ No, I've never seen that one. It looks very calming.” 

“That color is blue Kuro. you see blue. And the color of Gwen’s sweater is green. You can see another color now Kuro!” Shade said with glee as she hugged Kuro. Kuro rubs her cheeks to Shade’s, purring. Miles chuckled seeing Kuro the mouth half of Shade purring like a cat even though she looked like a bunny. Kuro quickly stops realizing what she doing.

“ It's cool. ” Kuro trying at cold but she not fooling anyone. Shade then used her tendrils to wrap the kids around to hug them.

“Thank you, you guys” Shade let go of them and then turned to Miguel. “And thank you, Miguel. I get the feeling this was your idea.”

“I just think it is better if Kuro has… a better understanding of colors than all.” 

Everyone gave Miguel the ‘yeah right’ look. Shade just smirked then she hugged Miguel and left him up with her strength. 

“Thank you, Miguel.” 

Kuro hopped on to Miguel’s Shoulder who also had a smirk on her face.

“ Yeah big spider, not so cold as I thought” Kuro then pecked him with a kiss. Miguel was surprised that Kuro kissed him. Shade giggles from this, and Miguel just smirks

“Why don’t give it a try then, change the color of your outfit.”  

Shade nodded as she closed her eyes and tried to imagine the color of her outfit matched the Christmas colors around her, red and green. Soon her clothes change from her usual black and white to red and green. Shade opened her eyes and was surprised but happy

“Tah-dah!” Shade exclaims while everyone claps for her. The rest of the night everyone enjoyed food, played games, traded gifts, and sang Christmas songs terribly. All in all, it was a very nice first Christmas for Shade.

“Wow thanks for inviting me to your house, Margo. Your parents don’t mind?” Shade asked looking at all the festive colors around Margo's house to get ready for the Kwanzaa. Shade had to make sure that Kuro was outsight since Margo’s parents don’t know her Spider-byte. Shade wasn’t the only one there as Hobie was also there too. 

“Man Hobie. You be celebrating all these Holidays.”

Hobbies just smirk “You know me, I don’t believe in consistency. Also, my mom used to celebrate this holiday since she half-Swahili.” 

“Oh, uh Swahili?” Shade asked forgetting others earths have country while hers has sectors. So when any of them tell her where they are from she gets very confess. 

“That's like sector 37 for you right?” Hobie said knows a lot about Shade’s earth. 

“Right. Anyways, what is this Holiday about? It looks similar to Hanukkah right since it is not a one-day thing.” 

Margo nodded “Almost, Kwanzaa lasts for seven days insisted eight. But each day does represent something. Today it represents Umoja. It means maintaining unity in the family.” 

Shade nodded trying to understand the Holiday that Margo explaining. Margo’s parents came in with the seven-head candle set.

“It's nice to see a fellow Swahili. Margo said you got from mother’s side?” Margo’s mom said with a smile. Both Margo and Shade were sweating knowing Margo had to lie to her parent about Shade’s race and celebration. Hobie was trying to hold back the laugh.

The rest of the night Shade has an awkward talk with Margo’s parents about where she is from and how she knows Margo and Hobie. but besides that, she has a good time. Eating an assortment of Swahili and it took Shade a lot of willpower not to eat drool and devour all the food. She was so glad to start to get better control of that. 

“So you won’t be here on New Year's Eve?” Margo’s dad asked kind of sounding sad. Shade nodded

“Yep…I have plans with someone, but I’ll come over the day after, I bring some of the bread I told you about.” Shade as she and Hobie were about to head out. They wave goodbye and as two need to find a place to open the portal back to HQ. Hobie just looks at Shade with his signature Smirk. Shade looked at him.

“Why are you giving me that look.” She said 

“No reason I think I just know who that person is.”

Shade rolled her eyes knowing nothing get past this boy. She has a plan with the person on her Earth. At least one holiday she has in with common everyone is New Year.

“Well, I hope you two kids have fun and don’t party too hard.”

“ Were the vuck is he?! ”

“Kuro, be patient. he coming.” Shade said as she was waiting on top of the roof of the abandoned factory that she called home. It is also a great spot to watch the fireworks. She just hoped he make it on time it was like five minutes till midnight. She just hoped he come. 

Just then a light appeared behind as the portal opened up and Miguel came out from it. Wearing his usual Spider-man outfit. For him, his work is never done. Shade couldn’t help but sigh. It wouldn’t kill him to try to wear something comfortable. Even Shade turns her outfit into a winter dress that is sky blue, flexing her ability to have more colors now.

“ What vuck took you so long?! We have been freezing our butts off waiting for you, you know?!” Kuro growled glaring at Miguel. Miguel sighed and then showed Kuro a bag full of food. Know full well that Kuro be happy if he gives her a bag worth of food. 

“ Fine, I accept your apology!” Kuro then wrapped her Tendrails around the bag to take a hop away a few meters away so He and Shade could talk. Now they want to deal with their gooey emotions. 

“Thank, she was getting antsy.” 

Miguel just smirked as he sat next to her on the rooftop.

“More like you were getting antsy. I told you I was coming.”

Shade huffed.

“Well, It like almost midnight so of course I was getting impatient. I didn’t want you to miss the fireworks.”

“Well, you're one hour ahead of me. So sorry.” Miguel then sticks out his tongue playfully. Shade huffed and stuck out her long tongue that playfully licked his cheek.

“Yuck.”

“Well, you deceived it. Can you at least wear something normal? I want to hang with Miguel O’Hara for once, not Spider-man.” 

Miguel hit a button on his neck to change his outfit to a coat and jeans. It is pretty cold on Shade’s earth. They sat there for a while till the two minutes till the new year. 

“It has been one …uh what you guys always say… hell of year?” Shade said finally breaking the silence. Miguel raised his eyebrow wondering what she meant. Then again this whole year was weird for him too. Trying to stop Miles from ruining his earth, stopping Spot from destroying everything. Getting his DNA back in control. And dealing with Shade’s earth and Shade’s DNA problem. Like she said it has been one hell of a year. 

“Yeah…who knows what going to happen next year? Every year things get worse and worse for me. And me, making things worse doesn’t help.” Miguel said as he looked back at this year. He wish he could of done thing differently. Maybe listen to Miles more than try to capture him and let his dad die. Trying to help stop Spot more. cause fewer problems for kids if he kept track of his DNA. What if-

“Hey…”

Miguel stopped his train of thought not realizing that Shade put her hand over his. He always forgets that she can feel what he feels. Something he doesn’t have to say. 

“I know you must not have had the best year. I know I didn’t but you know what? It wasn’t all bad.”

“Really? How come?”

Shade then smiles at him. She also has the warmest smile for a person who hides behind the mask more than him. He wishes she be more open, but he understands why she wears it.

“I met you guys, If wasn’t for you guys…I would still be hiding and never get to enjoy life like my friend wanted me to. I was so scared that I felt like I would ruin it. But I’m not so much anymore. Thank you all.” 

Miguel was about to say something Lyla popped up between them. With a smirk on her face.

“Hey, you love birds there are thirty seconds till New Year's here.”

Miguel’s eyes widen “Oh shock! I almost forgot.” Miguel then pulls out a couple of earplugs. “Here! So you don’t go into shock because of the sound.”

“Thanks, how about your eyes?”

“Wear special contacts so won’t go blind.”

Lyla then shows the countdown as it counts down from ten. Shade whispers to Miguel’s ear. he sighs, as he smiles

“5…4…3…2…1…HAPPY NEW YEARS”

Fireworks went off as Miguel and Shade shared their New Year's kiss. For both of them, it has been years since they kissed anyone. So the feeling was nice.

“Let's take on this year together.”

“Lets.”

Chapter Text

Things have been quiet on Earth 2424. There haven't been real threatening crimes going around. Not even the Viliants 6 weren't active for the past couple of days. But for Shade, it was blissed as head to her job till she heard an explosion a couple blocks away from her. Shade sighed knowing it was too good to be true. She ran to the alleyway and had Kuro transformed her outfit. Then swing towards the trouble.

“ Who do you think it is? Blogbitch? Gunny? Kraz?”

“We just have found out and see.” Shade said as swung into the ice cream shop that was hit. All the people in the store ran out, Shade caught one who was coming out. The shop clerk had some burns but none to serve.

“Are you ok?” Shade asked. The women nodded and pointed to the store 

“There is a crazy person in there! He wants people to be his friend or something, then he starts tearing things up!” 

Shade thought this might have been Krazytown but this doesn’t sound like her. Shade told the women to get to safety. The women ran while Shade jumped in. The place was a rake. 

“ I don’t smell Kraz.”

“Me neither…” Shade then was tackled down by a figure. She was surprised she couldn’t smell him. From how he feels he wasn’t human. Shade looked up to see he looked like a Spider-Person with his red and black outfit but he had a wicked smile, with sharp teeth.

“Do you want to be my friend?” 

“What?!”

“I said do want to be my friend?” 

Shade changes one of her arms to be bigger, trying to push the robot guy off of her. She commands Kuro to change her arms into claws. The android did the same, which surprised Shade.

“Are you another Alchemax villain product?”

“Product? I’m Flipside and I throw in here from my earth.” 

Flipside then began to glitch out show Shade that he was not from this earth.  Now knowing he an anomaly that she needed to send back, she was about to call someone from the Spider society until heard a voice behind her.

“What are you doing Vemony?” 

Shade’s eyes widened when she saw Krazytown right behind with her robotic jester-like look. She jumped back from her psycho android.

“Oh, Vemony I haven’t seen you in weeks. I got a new game to play called Bomb and Seek. You seek the bomb that I hide and I try to stop you before they go off! Want to play?!” Krazytown said to her twisted smile, Shade groaned not wanting to deal with Krazytown today,  she already had her one crazy android quota full today. 

“Get lost Krazytown! I’m busy!” Shade growled. Krazytown just pouted

“Come on Venomy. The bombs going off soon and-” Krazytown stopped talking now and noticed the other android in the room. “Who that?”

Flipside also gave her an odd look trying to read her out. He walks up to the two trying to see what he looking at. He whistles at them

“Wow, your hardware is very impressive. Who made you?” Flipside said as he grabbed Shade with a long arm and pinned her to the wall as she tried to talk to Krazytown, who was not happy with this

“Who asking?”

“I’m asking, name Flipside. Want to be friends?”

Krazytown rubbed her chin like she was thinking about then put her hands out.

“Sure pal! Put it there!” 

Shade knew what Krazytown was about to do. She had seen so many times all of Krazytown’s male victims. Flipside smiles happily as he shakes her hand. Krazytown the out an electrical shock that can fatally kill a person, but Flipside wasn’t fazed by this

“Whooo! I like your hello. We going to be good friends.” He said with a childlike tone. Shade got up and dusty herself off not like this friendship witnessing. Before she could do something an orange light filled the room they were all in. Shade knows it portal opening up from the Spider society. Hop out from it was her new boss that followed, Miguel O’Hara

“There the Shock you are!”  he yelled sounding very pissed off. Both Shade and Kuro are not surprised.  Flipside turns towards Miguel and gives off a smile showing his sharp teeth.

“Spider-man! Where have you been? I made some new friends. This Krazytown.”

“Hey! Who said I’m your Friend?!” Krazytown said with a glare

“I did. also I want to play that The Bomb and Go Hide game you were talking about. It sounds fun!” 

While the two androids talk to each other. Shade came around to Miguel wondering who this Flipside was.

“Hey, Mig you know that guy? He a Venom variant because I couldn’t sense him?”

Miguel shook his head “No he is from my Earth. He an android that was created during Heroice age from my Earth. It has imprints of both my Spider-man and Venom. Be careful around him. He unperdentable and he trouble.”

“He reminds me of Krazytown.” 

“In a way, he might as well.” Miguel then throws one of his net bombs at the two androids.  Flipside was able to catch it and surprised everyone by eating it. A small explosion went off in his body but  he absorbed it like a cartoon character,

“ Have any better ideas big Spider?!” Kuro mocked, and both Shade and Miguel rolled their eyes. 

“Guess we're doing the old-fashioned way.” Shade shoots her tentacles toward the two Androids. Krazytown stretches her arm to get out of the way while Flipside releases his claws and slashes one of the tendrils causing, Shade to hissed from pain. Miguel dashed toward Flipside with his talons to slash Flipside’s arm but he wasn’t able to cut it. 

“What?”

“I got an upgrade Spider-man. How else am I supposed to play with you?” Flipside then pulls Miguel toward him for a bone-crushing bear hug. “Come on Spider-man! Let's celebrate that I made a new friend! Maybe we can become that thing called a couple.” Flipside said as he squeezed tighter. Shade rushes to Miguel's aid till Krazytown grabs her from behind.

“He let those two boys talk it out. Let us girls have some fun! I got some new lip bomb to try out..” Krazytown then pulls a device that looks like a lipstick but something tells her it isn't. Shade then wraps Krazytown and throws her at a parked car as she rushes to Miguel's aid. Flipside saw this and wasn’t happy that Shade hurt his new friend so he threw Miguel at Shade, Shade was able to catch Miguel. 

Miguel and Shade dodge Flipside's attack as he stretches his arms at them. Krazytown threw a bunch of bombs at them Shade, Shade quickly threw them back at Krazytown. She was hit with her bombs but Krazytown quickly got up from the attack. Miguel was about to web her again but Flipside slashed that web and then grabbed the Krazytown which she was not happy with.

“Hey!”

“Come on new buddy! I let hide and bomb it be fun with two on two,” he said while they both jumped out of the cafe. Miguel and Shade groan as they have to chase the two killer robots down. It took a while, Miguel had to get Lyla to deactivate the bombs as fast as she could while Shade tried to catch the two. 

Let's just say it was one hell of a chase. After a bit of struggle and a lot of bombs. Miguel and Shade were able to web up Krazytown and Flipside. Both of them laugh surprised that the two heroes were able to catch them.

“Nice job buddy! You caught me!” Flipside said, Miguel just groaned and hit a button on his wrist that made a signal that shut down Flipside. Shade was shocked when he did it. 

“You could have done that the whole time?!” she angrily said, Miguel rolled his eyes under his mask

“Your robot was able to disrupt the signal for me to be able to.”

Krazytown looks at Flipsside and back at Shade. “Mmmmm…that guy he…dreamy!!!” Miguel and Shade were taken aback by her words.

“Can I see him again?”

“Shock/Vuck no!” Miguel and Shade said little did they know the two killer robots would be seeing a lot of them together.

• Shade has a dress-like outfit and wears a face mask. her hair is white when she is in venomgirl mood. She doesn't look like the stander symbiote when fused.

• Kuro hates being called 'cute' she is an apex predator. so being called cute is like calling her weak. it doesn't help that the only form she can change outside of Shade's body it a bunny. animal is hard to do. unless it's a kid they get a pass. (it's a symbiote thing).

  and if you call her a parasite. you're dead.

• Kuro fuse in Shade's hair to make it look normal. her hair turned white when her power was triggered when she was 16, so when Kuro needed to hide she fused in her hair and made it black. Kuro also turns to her superhero suit. Shade does have some clothes under but half time she is naked. and Kuro hangs on Shade's Shoulder when she wants to talk to people. kind of like Jak and Daxter
• in Shade's world, different words are
  Great Ones=gods
  Void=hell
  Vuck=fuck
  Kars=car
• so when Shade fights she gives herself a 10 min time limit as she does note that the later the fight drags out the more feral/brutal she becomes. to the point she starts like others inflicting pain on others. that side Shade is scared the most.
• Shade has a second mouth, that is how her voice goes deep and makes a clicking sound.
• so Shade has a pocket pouch in her throat where she holds her phone and wallet when she venomgirl. She swallows her phone every time. so when she throws it back up it does freak people out that she has to unhinge her jaw.
• Shade grows new teeth once a year. It's a pain and they are stronger than last time. she can bite through steel now.
• Shade’s world is a vending Paradise. if you didn't Know Shade's Earth or at least the city she leaves is a fusion of Japan, Italy, and New York. so she has a Vending machine almost everywhere and you can get almost anything in them.
• Shade starts wearing underwear just in case something happens to Kuro since Kuro is her clothes. She got the idea from seeing Miguel was almost being exposed once.
• so the current time on Shade's earth is 2023, but there is something that earth has that ours don't like bio-weapon cops. also holograms and compound R for a few examples
• So Shade lives in the abandoned factory main to hide from the six and to be away from people if she loses control

• so her Christmas is called the Day of Light which celebrates the god of light Infinity, it is just one day of peace. for the day of Darkness is for the god Eternals that one is on Halloween.
• Shade's fighting style is lackluster even tho she has been fighting for 9 years. despite that, she can still hold her own. also if you wondering how she fights it main be down low and attack with a mix of capoeira fighting styles since she learned how to break dance years ago.
• Shade's world looks like the anime Kill la kill. art style-wise.
• Shade can feel other people's emotions due to her being half symbiote. sometimes they can overwhelm her so she needs to be careful being around people. one reason why she won't be near people
• Shade has no stomach so her appetite is endless and have a hard time realizing she needs to stop eating.
• if Shade slaps Kuro, Kuro nor Shade don't feel the pain. Kuro just reacts to it for more annoying than pain. if someone like Miguel slaps Kuro Shade, I kind of feel it but it doesn't really hurt. also, it is when Kuro is in bunny form.
• so Shade's gemstone is a moon gem. I'm still figuring out when her birthday is but at this point, it is somewhere in June. which is also my birthday month. funny it be like that

• Shade had two friends: Patrick and Uma. They are all childhood friends. also fun fact: Patrick was originally was going to be Shade's boyfriend but I decided to change.

   

• Shade's Berzerk Form: like most symbiotes Shade's emotion will get the best of her and she loses control turning into a hulking rabbit-like beast monster. And takes a lot to snap her out of it. One mission it took 5 spider-people to bring her back. And she and Kuro will feel terrible for losing control. Her strength and speed increase she is more durable to attack. Her range jumps from 10 meters to 20 meters. She can infect people to be under her control and she gains wings the longer she in that state. Once out of that form, she be in a coma for days. It is more of a mental strain than a physical one. When Shade gains more control and has a host her power is more grounded. But if she her and the host get too worked up they lose control and can lose themself.
• Shade can turn into Berzerk anytime. But she refuses at first. To her, she feel every time she turns, she loses a piece of humanity.
  She does have a habit of turning into Berzerk in her sleep. Miguel gets squished a lot by her

Mother’s day

On some earth, they have different holidays, while others have the same. Today was Mother’s day, some that ruff for someone like Shade who lost both her parents. She misses her mother despite everything. Despite all the secrets she had. Despite forcing Shade to experiment on. She still loves her mother, and still wishes she was here. 

Everyone knows she is alone on her earth, she asks that she not to be bothered about mission today from society. She was happy today, it was quiet on her earth today so she didn't have to worry about it and her boss gave her the day off knowing how hard this day was for her.

“Here are some flowers, Shade.”

“Thanks, Gigi. they look nice.”

GiGi nodded with a sad smile knowing why Shade asked for them. “They in the house please come over to Mama Joe’s place after you are done. I don’t want you not to eat like last time.” 

Shade nodded nice to know there people here who now care for her 

“I promised.”

“Is your boyfriend coming over well?

“Heh, not today but it will be fine. I'll see you later, ok?” they both wave at each other as Shade heads to her destination; the graveyard. There were a few people there, people who also lost their mother but it was very quiet. She headed over to the graves of her parents, the flower at the grave sites had die so it was time to replace them.

“Here mama, I got you some new flowers, they have a favorite color, blue roses. Got some for papa too.” she said as she replaced the flower on the graves. To also a somber coming here. Talking to them, people say that she can never hear their voice again. 

“There, that looks much better. Sorry this is the only thing I brought. I already ordered your flower papa, so both of you can match.” Shade sat next to the graves and looked up at the sky glad it was a nice day that she could talk longer. “Well, this week wasn’t so bad. Queen being less of a hassle these days. They use Krazytown as their new villain. But they still ‘use’ me for view and still their favorite villain but a lot of people start to note i’m not the villain but the six are. Sigh I still miss you mama, I miss you both.” tears began to form, it has been years that always come here and she still gets tear up by it .

“I should know you were here.” 

Shade turns around to see Miguel O’ Hara in his normal clothes and wearing his sunglasses to hide his red eyes. Shade gave him a sad smile, she tried her best to keep this a secret from everyone. 

“What gave it away?” she asked as Miguel walked up to her

“You were quiet or quieter as usual, you didn’t really come to talk to me either. Usually means that something was on your mind or is bothering you. Then I realize what day it is.” Miguel then helps Shade up from her spot. 

“I know how hard this day can be. You are not the only one who has lost the mother or father.”

Shade nodded “And you? I know you don’t like talking about your family and all…” Shade tries not butt in on Miguel and his personal life. Besides Gabi and his wife she knows nothing about her family. But the feeling he gives off now is anger and sadness from it. He also gave off this emotion when his family was brought off but it was strong this time. Miguel can be good at hiding his emotions from others but not Shade. Mainly, she is half symbiote and reading emotion is her thing. Not like she can turn it off.

“It's hard for me too…my mother… She wasn’t a great mother. Mostly, towards me because of things out of my control.” She can hear the bitterness from his voice and see him gripping his hands hard from anger. 

“I like to think she loved me but…many years being with an abusive husband and being used by another. She took it on me.” 

Shade took Miguel hand and rubbed it sensing his overwhelming aniger. She can tell he was trying to calm down for her since she can sense it and sometimes he lets his emotions get the better of him. It is hard for him to remember what he is or who his real father really is. The day he left her at the retirement home was he thought the best day ever but still bitter wishing he had a better relationship with her. 

“I-I’m sorry, you didn't deserve that.” 

“Heh, yeah I know but…sometime…she made me regret ever being born.” Miguel tried medding their relationship till the end but it was too late and before they could truly fix it she died, and till this day he blames himself for it. It was like one last cruel thing that she did towards him. 

“Don’t say that Miguel, I know your great person and it's a shame she didn’t gotta see it.” Shade pointed out. But Miguel knew she did get to see it just not as Miguel O’hara. But as Spider-man. She would tell him how he should try to be like spider-man, selfless, caring, protect the weak from the abusive strong. Even when he tried to tell her that he is Spider-man, she didn’t believe him. Funny how one time she saw him it was when he was in costume. 

Miguel sighs and looks down at Shade forgetting that she was there still rubbing his hand and having a sad smile trying to understand what he felt because of this day. 

“Sorry, here I am trying to make you better but you're the one trying to make me feel better.”

Shade chuckled flattered by Miguel’s gesture and gave him a hug.

“No no, it is nice to hear you speak about your feelings and it does feel like it makes you feel lighter. Shouldn’t hold that stuff in. I-I had bitterness toward my parents for years. How they just let their child be used for testing. I hated them, for a while. Then after finding out what they did to my mother and how they threatened my father. If they didn't play along…I don't know what Alchemax and Andrew would have done to us. I just wish…” Shade looked back at the graves and put her hands on her mother’s “There was another.” 

Miguel thought the same for his mother ‘Wish things turn out different’

“Well, I won’t dwell in the past. Not anymore.” Shade creases Miguel's face and so does he with her face “And you shouldn’t either. We failed and they failed too but we can learn from them and don’t make the same mistake they did. I bet she would have wanted that and wanted you to be better than her.”

Miguel gave a sad smile “You right, no more having the past handle us down.” 

Shade nodded 

“Hey, since we're free, want to go to Mama Joe's place? She will kill me if I don’t come.”

Miguel smile 

“I would love that.”

Chapter Text

27 Mig: the hunt 

“Miles, an anomaly has been reported on your earth. We try to figure out the type of the anomaly so they stay alert.” Lyla stated as Miles swung to where the anomaly had been located. Once he reached it he noticed some of the cops surrounding the building as the alarm went off in the toy store. He saw his dad there too. He was taking the hit that this is spiderverse dealings. 

Sure enough, Jeff saw Miles drop down as some police officers were keeping people back from getting too close.

“So, Mr. Jeff, what seems to be the problem?” Miles puts on his deep voice even though he doesn’t have to since his dad knows he is Spider-Man.  

Jeff rolled his eyes because he could never get used to talking like that when he was in his Spider-Man outfit.

“We don’t know, the alarm went off in the toy store. One of my guys went in to see what it was. They shot it and when they did…” Jeff then shows Miles the melted toys that Miles couldn’t help flinch from. He doesn’t want to know what the staff would have done to the person if they got hit. 

“Ok, so the…thing is still in the toy store?” Mile walk towards the store.

“Yeah, be careful,” Jeff called out, Miles nodded as he went in. The store was completely dark, only the light from police lights was seen. 

Miles looks around the toy store and stops himself from stepping on the floor as he sees it melted through. He saw the trail of burnt acid-yellow liquid that he followed till he got near a basket full of stuffed animals. Some of them were melting. Miles can hear whimpering from behind the basket. He saw some wiggle in the shadow of it. 

Guessing the anomaly is hurt by the police shooting at them, Miles decides he is going to try to calm the situation down.

“Hey, I'm not here to hurt you.” Miles approaches the basket. The whimper turns into a growl, like to warn him but it falls flat like someone trying to put on a brave face. 

“Leave me alone.” 

From the sound of the voice, it sounds like a little girl to Miles. Miles looked around to make sure it was just those two in there, Miles took off his mask to make sure he was not a scary guy. 

“Hey! Hey! I’m not a scary guy. I know this is all scary and it didn’t help that someone hurt you. Let me take a look at it.”

“No! I’m going to hurt you! I missed Papa!” Miles' heart began to break hearing the kid's voice. She was just scared.  He heard her scream as the light of the glitching happened. He has to act fast, not wanting this kid to get hurt anymore. He wondered why the cop shot the kid?

“Hey, look. I promise I’ll help you find your Papa.”

The kid started crying as he heard Miles “You promise?”

“Yeah, why don’t you come out.” 

“But I'm going to scare you.”

“Hehe trust me nothing is going to scare me-” Miles stopped himself as the girl came out from her hiding space. Or what Miles thought was a girl. The girl was standing on the ball of her feet that deformed. She had a long flexible tail that was wrapping around her like a scared animal. She has dark gray skin, her hands have claws, and her head is big with long brown hair. Her eyes were completely black. 

Miles notes the wound that she has, it looks like the bullet has gazed at her on the shoulder. The yellow liquid was her blood that was causing the melting. Miles recognized why the type of creature she reminded him of. From an old movie that his dad and he used to watch. 

“You're a Xenomorph?” 

The girl's eyes widen as she quickly crawls toward him

“You know what I am?” 

“Yeah, I thought you were only in movies?” Miles said as he pulled out his watch to call Lyla. Lyla popped in to see if Miles needed help then she took one look at the alien-like girl. 

“Oh, you were able to catch the anomaly. That was easy.”

“Yeah, I’m bringing her in can you tell Andrea I'm bringing in someone,” Miles asked. Lyla Slatute opens a portal to spider society for them. The girl was scared as she went behind Miles. Miles patted her on the back to tell it ok.

“Hey, we're going to a better place than here and we going help that wound you have there and stop you from glitching.”  Miles whole the girl's hand. “What is your name anyway?

“It's Gabriella.”

“This is my first time healing a Xenomorph,” Andrea said as Gabriella’s wound. She had to be careful not to get burned by her blood. She was able to stop the bleeding. Miles got her temporary watch so she doesn't glitch anymore. 

“Is she going to be ok?” 

Andrea nodded “Yes.” Andrea finishes bandaging Gabriella. It was tricky because of how acidic her blood is and most of the bandages she had the blood burn right through it. Luckily, they found some bandages that they could hold. More lucky it was just a gaze. 

Andrea gave the child a teddy to make her feel better. Children with anomalies are treated better as they are mostly scared. They usually hang with spiders who save them till they send them home. 

“She stayed here for a few hours before we sent her home. We have made sure that she is not injured anywhere else.” 

Gabi whimpered, it sounded like a sad puppy crying “I want Papa!” 

Miles tries to cheer her up “Hey now! No crying, remember? Once you heal up we are going to take you back to your papa. But for now, you get to hang out with me. Part of the cool kids' group.” 

Miles was about to call for others when Miguel and Peter entered the medbay. It was more like Miguel carrying Peter in, as he got injured. Not too injured for him not to be creaking jokes. 

“At least take me out of dinner first if you're going to carry me?” Peter joked while Miguel rolled his eyes, tempted to just drop Peter.

“Peter, would you stop with the dad jokes and-” Miguel trails off as he sees Andrea and Miles in the room. But his eyes were focused on Gabi, it was like he saw a ghost as he dropped Peter onto the floor. 

“Hey!” Peter rub his butt from the drop but Miguel was too stunned to care

Gabi stared at him and then ran toward him without thinking 

“Papa! I miss you so much!” Gabi hugged him. Miles then just realized that this is a Gabriella variant. The spider society has a secret rule that not even Miguel knows. 

Try to send any Gabi variant home as soon as possible before Miguel finds out. But in this case, it was too late. 

Gabi let go of him and then looked at him with a bewildered look. Miles guessed that she figured out that this was not her Papa

“Papa, how do you turn back to normal?” Gabi asked.

Miles was going to answer for Miguel but Miguel stopped him. He knows that everyone tries to keep Gabi Variant away from him as he never truly gets over it but he always tries to push it aside. He is still a hero. 

He bent down to her level but not much as she was bigger than most gabi he saw. He dissolved his mask to show his face to her. 

“I’m not your papa sorry,” Miguel said, giving her a sad smile. Gabi looked at him harder and then smelt him to check on him. Indeed he was not her papa. Gabi whimpered again, hoping it was Papa. 

“We make sure we get you home as soon as we can.” Miguel looks up at Andrea and Miles. “Do we know what Earth she is from?”

Andrea pulls up a hologram of Earth. The Earth is number 27. It was an unmarked Earth so no one has gone to that Earth yet. Miguel down at Gabi and saw the bandage on her arm. 

“What happened to her?” he asked harshly. They know how protective Miguel is towards kids when they are hurt. Miles steps forward to explain

“She kind of scared one of the cops on my Earth. We have to bandage her up because she is a xenomorph.”

“Xeno-what?” Miguel was confused till Peter came up and used his phone to show Miguel an old movie poster of an egg with a green glow. 

“There are aliens from the movie Alien. There is usually a scared creature that can impregnate people and to make more in the movie and-” Peter was rambling on till Miles signaled not to continue as Gabi whimpered more making Miguel hug her close to him. “Uhhh…but that's just the movie! You do not like those nasty- I mean uh aliens” Peter tries to save himself but everyone in the room side-eyes him. Miles walked over to the poster to see another one that was the next slide show. It was one about Alien vs Predator. Gabi saw the poster and pointed at it.

“That looks just like-”

Before she could say anything the lights went off. Everyone went on high alert. Miguel brought his watch close to him and called Lyla. 

“Lyla! Start now!” 

Lyla pulls up the building power. Half the building lost its power, it was the part they were in. Not only that someone had activated the locked-down system so no one could get in or out of the building not even using their watch to leave. Lyla checks to see if an anomaly broke out that caused it but Lyla shows that all anomalies were counted for.

“This is not good,” Andrea said as she put on her mask. Everyone else did the same. Something wasn’t right about this. And soon enough they heard a crash and the alert system went off. This time for intruders. Ben busts through the door all bloody and bruised

“Miguel! We're under attack!”

Andrea and Miles rush to Ben's side to try to get him up. Gabi went behind Miguel who was scared of what was going on.  

“Ben, who's attacking?!” Miguel asked, trying to send a call out to a spider on this side of the bundling to say high alert. 

“I don’t… we can’t see it. We try using a heat signal on them but it looks like they have something to interfere with it. We were able to trap it on this side of the building. Hobie, Webbslinger, and Jess are trying to take them out. But…” They all heard a crash. Andrea, Ben, Peter, and Miles’s spider sense went off as all 6 ducks as an explosion burst down the wall to the med room. Hobie and Webbslinger were thrown, they were bloody and bruised. Andrea and Miles help the two up, and everyone turns to smoke to see Jess being held by her neck as if something invisible is choking her. 

Miguel quickly shot his red webbing around the invisible figure as his eyes were able to see the outline compared to the other spider. He quickly pulled the creature off Jess. he took this opportunity to charge at the creature and pin them. The creature let out an angry clicking noise as it revealed itself to Miguel by uncloaking. The creature was wearing a hamlet that had braids-like appendages. He was wearing heavy armor that looked like Miguel’s talons wouldn’t get through it. 

Miles saw the creature and recognized it from the movie poster he had seen earlier. 

“That a Predator!” Miles called out to Miguel. Miguel turns back to Miles 

“A Predator?!” 

“It's like an alien! Watch out they-” Miguel didn’t get the chance to listen as the Predator kicked Miguel off of him. Miguel quickly got himself together before the Predator came and punched him square in the face. 

Miguel launches his red web again at the Predator. The Predator was able to cut too much of Miguel's shock. No one is able to cut his webs. It wasn’t the only thing that surprised him, as the Predator shot his own web at Miguel and then slammed him on the ground causing a creak to appear from the impact. 

Miguel had the air knocked out of him but didn’t have time to dwell on it as the Predator charged with its own talons out, Miguel barely had time to backflip and kick the Predator away from him. He backflip-kicked him so hard that the Predator helmet came off. 

The Predator covers his face and glares Miguel down showing his reddish-yellow eye. He reveals his face to Miguel, much to his shock. 

‘It's my variant?!’ Miguel thought. 

The Predator or this Miguel looks like Miguel. He has mandibles that were clicking very loudly and were flaring up in anger. The Predator Miguel let out a deafening roar as his fangs grew longer as he rushed ready to kill Miguel. He was so fast that Miguel didn’t have time to react.

“Papa! Stop!” Gabi rushes between Miguel and Predator Miguel. Predator Miguel managed to stop himself before his talon went through Miguel. Predator Miguel looks at the XenoGabi and she quickly hugs her father not wanting him to kill the people that were helping her.

“Please Papa…don’t hurt them. They help me.” Xeno-Gabi said with tears in her eyes. This seems to calm the Predator Miguel down as he puts his talons away and eases up a bit. He just glared at Miguel and let out an angry click. Miguel wanted to say something but something told him shouldn’t, not with a very piss-off Miguel variant. 

Predator Miguel used his web to grab his hamlet that was across the room while picking up Gabi as she hugged him hard. Then the Predator Miguel's arm blade glows red similar to when Miguel’s. He then with one swift motion opened a portal to everyone's shock. He walked back towards it not taking his eyes off of Miguel. Gabi waves a sad goodbye and mouths the words ‘sorry’ to everyone. 

The portal then closed and the power came back on. Miles and they were still getting themselves together, still trying to comprehend what just happened. Peter walks over to  Miguel to see if he is ok. 

“Well, uh…that could have gone worse.” Peter jolly said, Miguel nodded

Back on Earth-27 on a spaceship 

Predator Miguel or 27-Miguel finally found his daughter. A Xenomoph tries to kill her but a portal opens up dragging all three of them. The Xenomoph was taken care of before he went hunting for her on Earth 1610 the time he got there Miles took her away to the spider society he saw her bleeding and went hunting to find her before more could be done. 

He checked one of Gabi’s wounds and it was already healing which made him happy. Gabi was still holding the bear that Miles gave her. She wished that she could thank them properly. 

“I’m glad I was able to find you before anything worse happened.” Gabi heard her father say through the hamlet as it was hard for him to talk without it. 

“I was trying to avoid that Miguel.” 

“Papa?” 27-Miguel turn back to Gabi as she holds the stuff bear 

“They were nice to me and weren't scared of me. Can we please say we're sorry?” Gabi asked if it was her fault that some of the spiders got her because of her. 27-Miguel sighs, forgetting that his daughter is a nice kid and wants to do the right thing. 

“Once you heal…I think about it.”  

27-Miguel went back to work creating his own watch to travel the multi-verse so in the hope that one day he would find an earth to cure his daughter.

Chapter Text

Being in charge of the hundreds and hundreds of spider-people and their earths can be one hell of a job for one person, but someone gotta do it. Miguel knows this. He is staring at the computer keeping track of things as much as he can. Sometimes I forget to eat and sleep. 

And forget other things

“Miguel!” 

Miguel nearly jumped from the sound of Jess’s voice. He turns around to see her right next to him, probably yelling his name for who knows how long. She had her hands on her hip and held her kid as he gave him an annoyed look. Like a mother who told their child to get off their game like hours ago. Miguel rubbed the bridge of his nose.

“Yes, Jess?”

“Miguel, do you know how long you've been here?”

“An hour or two?” 

Jess wanted to facepalm herself. This fool has been up here for days and he totally forgot what day it is. Jess called Lyla

“Lyla, pull up a calendar for a forgetful spider here.” 

Lyla popped up with her usually cheeky smile as she did. Miguel rolled his eyes wondering what Jess was saying about there nothing important on this- his eyes nearly popped out of eyes socket when he saw what day it was.

It's Shade's Birthday. His girlfriend's birthday. And it's today.

“Shock.”

“Shock is right Miguel. What are you going to do? The day is almost half over and I can tell you don’t have a plan don’t you?”

Jess was so right, he doesn’t have anything for Shade. Hell, he never got the time to think what she would like to do. They can go out to eat since she loves food and eats a lot. But they do that every time they go out. Maybe he should do something nice or maybe go watch a movie. He got to think of something. He feel so stupid that he don’t know a lot of things about her they been dating for a months

Miguel then asked Lyla to pull up where Shade was. Lyla pulls up a hologram to show that Shade was hanging out with Miles and them at the cafe. They got her a Birthday cake. Shade was smiling even behind her face mask that Miguel couldn’t help but smile to glad that Shade is happy for once. 

“She wasn’t keen on celebrating it, you know?” Miguel turns to Jess with a confused look. Shade will be the first one to try to celebrate anything once she finds out. But on her own Birthday she doesn't?”

“She probably doesn't since there is no point, there is no one there to celebrate with.” 

“Yeah.” Miguel is not a Birthday person himself. He stopped caring since he was 13 so it made no difference that he made it to another year. 

“Jess-

“Can I take over for the rest of the day and next? Yes! Now go fix yourself up and do something for her. We and the rest of us had to make up excuses for your dumbass. Peter was about to pull a plan B.”

Miguel cringes when he mentions Peter’s ‘Plan B’ Plans. They are never good.

“Thank Jess. I own you one.”

Jess just smirked while push him off the platform 

“Just go. And if you screwed this up we will never forgive you!” Jess shouted at Miguel who opened a portal to his penthouse to take a quick shower and try to figure out what he was going to do.

Shade was with Hobie,Miles,42, Gwen,Pavitr, Peni and Margo talking to her and give her cake for her Birthday

“Thank guys for the cake. It's really nice of you.” Shade said to the kids who sigh as they figured out today was her birthday. She was hoping that Lyla or Andrea didn’t tell anyone about it but she figured someone would guess it. Her money on that, it was Hobie.

She let Kuro eat the cake as she wasn’t really in the mood to eat it. It's going to the same place so it doesn’t matter which half of the brain is eating it. 

“Why didn’t you tell us it’s your birthday today, Shade?” Gwen asked 

“Yeah, not a birthday person?” Miles chimes in.

Shade blush as she doesn't want these kids to worry. Kind of feel guilty for hiding it from them. But there is nothing really to celebrate about it. Half time she wished she wasn’t here from all the pain she went through. Having the words from Penny plan in her mind over and over again 

‘If your power never activated none of this would have happened.’

“Shade?”

Shade turns her attention back to Miles and those who have worry look on their face as they see her lost in the train of thought.

“Oh I'm sorry. You're right, I'm not a Birthday person, I’m going to head home. I have to check on my Earth anyway. Come on Kuro” 

“ Man, I was enjoying the cake.” Kuro hop on Shade’s shoulder. She was about to open a portal to her Earth till Miles stopped in a panic. Miles and them have to keep Shade on this Earth till Miguel does something for her Birthday. They all figure to be so focused on his job that he forgets that it is Shade's Birthday today. Peter told them to distract her till him and Jess get Miguel off his ass and do something for her.

He her boyfriend for fuck sake.

“Wait Shade! We-we have other plans for you.” Miles said, trying to choose his words. Shade can tell when someone is lying due to her powers so he try his best not to lie too much.

“We want to show you the gifts we got you.”

Shade raised her eyebrow kind of surprised they got her present.

Pav was the first one to give her a container full of tea.

“I got the best chai I could find, and I made sure they were nice and sweet and spicy for you.” 

“Thank Pan I’ll enjoy chai te- I mean Chai! With my Peach bread hehe” Shade said catching herself not wanting Pav to go on a ‘chai’ rent again. Gwen was next as she gave Shade some headphones which confused Shade as she really can’t listen to music or loud stuff. 

“Me, Hobie and Peni have been working on headphones that won’t put you in shock. They let out light sounds to help you listen better. We also got the help from 8532 Agony to help test it out.” 

Shade looks at the headphone, it even has the colors she likes. Black,white, and purple.  She smiled from the gift and also dreamt of listening to Hobie’s music without going into shock. 

“Thank you three.”

“ Me and 42 got you the cake, and we talked it over to manspider and our mom tried to see what you like, so a peach version of a Sunday cake.” Shade nodded. It was a really good cake. She just wasn’t in the mood to eat it. Margo gave Shade some magazines from not only her Earth but others' earth. They were fashion ones with different outfits.

“You wanted to try some other outfits from different earth so I got some magazines I found so you can try.” 

Shade open some to see many different outfits and hair styles she can shapeshift her clothes into. She would surely try them out when she got home.

“Wow thanks Margo. I really appreciate it. I’ll test them out when I get home.” Shade hit the bottom of her collar to open the portal. The others were going to stop her but Shade was faster then them as she put her tendrils out to block them from coming at her. She has a sad smirk on her face.

“Look, I know you want me to stay but I'm going to need some space.” she said as she jumped in. The kids want to follow till the portal closes. Miles quickly pull out his watch with a sigh

“Hey…yeah she left. She went back to her earth.” Miles explains to Peter and Jess. he really hopes Miguel has something for her.

Shade got back to her home, landing all the stuff that the kids gave her on the coffee table. She sat down to see a gift from Timothy and Blackheart. It was a new game that she was eyeing on. There was also a note:

“We got you this. Hope you like it. We know you want to be alone so when you better we can play?”

“Hehe, they really cared for you, Shade.” Shade looked over to Kuro who was laying on her lap like a real rabbit. Shade pet her even though it likes petting half her brain the more she thinks about it. Kuro tries to make Shade feel better knowing that today isn’t the best day for her. 

“Are you down because dumb big spider most likely forgot your Birthday? I’ll kick his ass the next time we see him.”

“Kuro, it's fine. It's not like I told him about.”

“ But why? You like Big spiders and not just a host thing either. Like you like-like him.”

Shade sighs as if her other half doesn’t know why she doesn't care for her Birthday. Almost all her friends and family she used to have died and recently found out that it was mostly all her fault. Why didn’t she get a handle like her sisters? Why didn’t powers show up when she was a kid? They did horrible tests to try to get something out of her only to quit when she was ten and the only reason they didn’t kill her and use her for parts was because her mother begged them. Sometimes she thinks maybe her mother should have let them kill her. None of this would have happened if she didn’t…

Beep  

Shade was lost in the train of negative thoughts as her necklace watch went off. It was a message from Miguel. If it was anyone else she would have ignored them but she doesn't know if something is happening on her earth.

‘Hey, can you meet me on the roof of HQ? I know you don’t want to be around people and I want to talk to you, is that ok?’

Raise her eyebrow wondering why Miguel wants to meet on the rooftop? If something important they would discuss in his office. Shade was too curious by this request that she went.

It was night time. Shade and Miguel have the same time zone on their earth make it another reason why their earth is so similar. She portal in onto the rooftop not wanting to be noticed, a habit she should try to break. She saw Miguel was sitting there waiting for her to look out on his city, Shade walked over to him.

“You know you're going to hurt your eyes if you keep staring at all these lights.” 

“Heh, after we fused my eyes don’t hurt as much anymore.”

“Your welcome?” Shade sat next to Miguel and watched the city with him. She can hear his heart quaking abit probably on the fact that he did forget it was her Birthday.

“Shade i’m-”Miguel was about to say something till Shade put her hand up 

“I know, you're sorry you forgot it was my birthday today. And let me guess: Jess, Peter and the Kids try to cover for you?” she smirks. She might not be as smart as any other spider but she is clever, Miguel let out a nervous laugh.

“To be fair I didn’t tell them to cover for me.”

“Heh right” 

Miguel can tell Shade is putting a fake face. Something was bothering her, he doesn’t need emotional powers like her. He got up and walked towards her. 

“I’m getting the feeling that something else is bothering you?” Miguel put his hands on Shade’s face to create it. A gesture that he does for Shade helping with bounding and it is a thing in her culture. A sign ‘I’m here’

“si algo te molesta me lo puedes decir?”

“Shitte iru, it just…” Shade looked away from him, trying not to cry in front of him, making him worry more. 

“Do I deserve to live?”

Miguel was taken back by her words.

“All the stuff I've been through. All the pain, suffering, and chaos that happened to my earth was because of me! Void, it affected you all too if I just happen been-”

Shade was cut off as Miguel hugged her 

“Suficiente de eso, don’t say those words. I told you before: that wasn’t your fault. Please, stop feeling that it is.” he said kissing her forehead, getting how hurt she felt with all that happened to her. To them. It can be overwhelming to anyone. 

“There is one good thing that came from all that happened.” Shade looked up Miguel as he smile down on her 

“I wouldn’t get to meet you.”

Shade couldn’t help but chuckle “that so corny.”

“Heh, I can joke like the others once in a while.” Miguel kissed Shade on the lips. She could help to smile. Miguel can be cold sometimes but he does have a heart and he does care. It just has a hard time showing it just like Shade.  Miguel then pulls out a box to give to Shade. She took the box guessing it was her gift. As she opened it. It was a collar with a moon stone. 

“Will it be your birth month stone that was custom made in short notice. Sorry it's nothing much.”

“I love it, Miguel. Thank you.” She kissed him again. He then took the collars and put it around her neck since Shade can’t really wear bracelets.

Shade sighs knowing something else. 

“Why am I getting the feeling that others have something waiting for me?” 

Miguel smiles at how very clever Shade can be. 

“Yeah, if I didn’t bring you back here they would all kill me and I wouldn’t hear the end of it.”

“Well…” Shade changed her outfit to a more casual “let not keep them waiting.” 

Miguel opens a portal to where the others are before Shade steps in Miguel hugs her from behind and whispers in her ear.

“After this, I do have another surprise if you’re up for it?” 

Shade smirk as she rubs Miguel 

“I would love that.”

Chapter Text

“Absolutely not.”

“What?! Come on Miggy. You promise.” Shade huffed while making Miguel his usual coffee, visiting his girlfriend at work. He always does before leaving for three days, when his time of the month comes around. He knows that Shade knows about his curse, something that made him surprised that she believed him when he told her. More surprised that she wanted to stay with him. 

“I know…I just don't want to scare you… or hurt you. I’m not completely myself when I turn.” 

Shade walked over to the table with his coffee, it was a quiet day so there were not many people around. She caresses his face while handing his coffee. Giving him a warm smile that he grew to love.

“You're not going to hurt me. Besides, you have let me. My car isn’t in the shop remember?” Shade smirked. Miguel groans, forgetting about that. He kind of messed up his car last month when came to the campsite late. It was hard to explain to the mechanic why the huge claws marks inside the car.

“I can take an Uber.”

“Not a chance. How are you going to explain why you need to be dropped off in the middle of the woods” Shade pointed out. 

“I can call Peter or Jess.”

“There out of town, Miguel. Stop trying to make excuses and let me take you.”

Miguel bites knowing she is right. He has no choice but to use Shade. Shade smirked again knowing she was right. 

“I will be off in two hours. You can get your stuff, and I’ll pick you up at your place, okay? And you better not try to get someone else.” Shade huffed, knowing that Miguel would do that. Miguel couldn't help but grin. Shade knows him too well sometimes. 

“Ok…you can take me but you have to leave before it gets dark, ok?” he kissed her, wanting her to promise him that she would leave before the moon raise. 

He just hopes nothing goes wrong.

The drive up to forest was a quiet drive, Miguel was looking a bit paler the last time Shade saw him. He was sweating and she could swear his eyes were different colors, it was more red then his usual reddish-brown. He explains it normally when it is his time of the month. He was wearing a tank top and shorts even though it was fall time he was getting hot. Also have a bag of stuff like extra clothes and some meat just in case.

“So….what color is your fur.” Shade asked. Miguel was taken back by the random question. Then again it been an awkward ride for the both of them. 

“It is brown with some red. I never really exam myself while I'm in that form.” 

“Why not?”

“Not a huge fan turned into a 8ft wolf, Shade.” Miguel hated this curse on his father's side. Something he dealt with for most of his life. One reason why he tried not to date, all his past partners didn’t want to deal with his disappearing act. Shade was different but one day she did force it out of him why he disappeared once a month. He broke down and told her. He thought that she wouldn’t believe it.

She did.

“I bet you're a handsome and fluffy wolf.” Shade jokes. Miguel couldn't help but smile. Cheering him up abit knowing he felt like shit right now.

“You would never know.” 

“Well actually…” As soon as Shade said that, the car began to slow down, forcing her to pull over on the side of the road. Miguel wondered what was going on till he looked over to Shade’s dash broad and saw that her gaslight came on. He looked over to the shade who was just smiling.

“Oh would you look at that, I forgot to fill up the tank. Silly me.” Shade shrugged her shoulders. Miguel knows damn well she did this on purpose. He was panicking knowing it was going to take at least an hour for the tow truck to get here and by the time they did he be already a wolf. 

“Why didn’t you fill the tank?!” 

“Because I forgot.” 

Miguel took a deep breath trying to calm himself down, he can already feel himself getting antsy for the upcoming change. Him getting upset will make things worse.

“Shade, I know what you're planning and I told you it's dangerous.”

“And I told you you're not going to hurt me. Miguel, I know you. You won’t hurt me. Because you're the nicest guy I know. Beside…” Shade got out of the car to lead Miguel to tuck. She opened it up then pulled out a duffle bag something Miguel noticed when he was putting his bag in the tuck.

“I came prepared.”

“Shade-

“Look, either I go with you which I do believe is safer than waiting for a tow truck out in the middle of nowhere. Where I could get attacked by an animal or worse, some serial killer.”

“You need to stop watching true crime.” Miguel facepalm himself wanting to just yelled at her for this stupid plan. He bites and let Shade come.

They kept walking deeper and deeper into the woods. The sun was already setting making the wood more creeper for Shade's taste. She noted that despite cold weather out here Miguel was in a tank top and not only that she could of swear steam was coming off from his body.

“I always knew you were hot Miguel but think you are this hot.” she joked pointing out the steam that was coming from his body. Miguel couldn’t help but chuckle despite the situation he was in. 

“Yeah, my body temperature get really high before I transformed. That's why I wear shorts and a tank top when I come out here.” Miguel then stops in an openish space part of the forest. Shade looks around them, seeing the space. There was a huge tree with a hole in the bottom, big enough to fit a person. 

As she examine the area, Miguel took out a blanket and jacket and toss at Shade who caught it from surprise

“Put on the jacket, it will keep you warm and… I won’t be so fast to attack you since it still have my smell.” Miguel was still uneasy about this but he have no choice. He then pull out some roast beef and lay them on the floor, Shade was curious what he was doing. Miguel figure she going to asked

“A quick bite after I transform. It take alot of energy and I will be very hungry. So I should be going after this and not-”  Miguel was cut off as Shade hugged him. He was so warm to touch almost like he was burning up from a fernet. 

“Hey, look at me.” 

Miguel hasted to look at Shade right now, afraid of what she’ll think after all this. Not wanting to lose the few happiness he has. He turn to her as she cress his face again

“It's going to be alright, do you truly think this changes anything between us?”

“I-I don’t want you to see me like a…monster.”

“You're not a monster Miguel! You're my boyfriend. The man that helped move in. the man that took care of me when life giving me shit. I don't know many monsters who do that.” Shade then picks up the bag and grabs the rest of his stuff.

“Come on, let me help you get ready.”

Shade hurdle under the tree  sitting on a blanket and wearing the jacket that Miguel gave her while he was standing in the middle of the open field to give them space. The sun finally set and now the two were waiting for the moon. Miguel decides to leave his boxer on, wanting to keep some dignity. 

“Does it hurt?”

Miguel snap back from his distraction as he look up Shade 

She asked again “ Does it hurt? I mean all those werewolves movies I seen, it usually hurt. Do you like…become a  wolfman type werewolf or like twilight ones?” do you do the skin one where you rip off your skin to reveal to the wolf inside or…” Shade realized that she was asking way too many questions in a short time. A bad habit that she has. Miguel couldn’t help but chuckle as he knows Shade is shy about asking for questions so he doesn't blame her for being curious. 

“Sorry I didn’t”

“No no.your fine. Uh…well it's nothing like the movies.”

“Is that why you don’t like watching the underworld and american werewolf in london?” 

“Hehe , kind of. I mean the American werewolf one was probably the closest to it. It does hurt but not as bad when I first started off. After I went through puberty and a few years, it is not as bad but it is still going to hurt.” Miguel looks up seeing the moon starting to raise. He groaned a bit, feeling his inside shifted and bones started to ache causing him to fall on one knee. Never getting used to shift.

Shade saw this.

“Is it starting?” Miguel shook his head

“N-No, it my body making it easier for me. My organs just shifted.”

“Gross.”

Miguel got up knowing in a few moments the real pain would begin. 

“Yeah, this is nothing that I'm about to go through.”

“How long till we got till it starts?”

Miguel looks up at the sky.

“It won’t be long. I’ll warn you,  it is not going to be pretty. Like I said, the American werewolf was close; they got right on the transformation.”

“Do you think one of the people behind the movie was a werewolf?” Shade chuckled. Miguel couldn’t help but roll his eyes and smirk.

“Maybe, they seem to know what they're doing. Any other questions? Wondering why now you want to ask about the werewolf thing?”

Shade blushed “I didn’t want to bug you with a question when you first told me that you were a werewolf. You don’t seem so keen on telling me more about it so I didn't force it. but…I’m glad you trust me enough to finally tell me about this.” 

If it was up to him he would took this secret to the grave since he lost so many partners from it and never be able to have a normal life. He was so glad he met Shade. Here being into horror movies as geek out on and monsters seen on screen.

“Shade, I- ack!” Miguel hugged himself as the pain racked his body as he fell on his knees. Shade was about to get up instinctively to help him before he put his hands up to stop her from coming closer. 

“No…stay where you are!” Miguel hissed through the pain as his nail length became longer and turned into sharp claws that can through flesh, he tried his best not to scream or yell not wanting to freak her out. He bit his lower lip as his back broke and pushed out. Shade covers her mouth in shock, hearing his bone crack and break. This was nothing like movies. 

His muscle expanded and grew as reddish-brown fur spread across his body. Miguel had to stop biting his lower lip as his fangs were coming in. his face pushed out to muzzles and his eyes now bright red. He couldn't help howling signaling that his transformation was done.

Miguel breaths heavily from the transformation, his body still aches from it. 

“Miguel?”

Miguel looked up at Shade as was out of a tree hole and only standing a few feet away from him. She was slowly walking towards him. He wasn’t kidding that he does turn into an 8ft humanoid wolf as he stands on his hind legs.

“Miguel? You're still in there?” Shade asked again. Miguel hears her heartbeat to see if she fears him. Her heart was slightly beating faster than normal but he sensed no fear from her. Most likely worry about him after that painful transformation. He walked over her on all fours and sniffed her. 

Shade allowed him to smell her thinking it was his way to identify her. She then pet his fur, being the most soft thing she ever felt. It reminds her of all the times she and Miguel sit down together watching the sunset. 

“You are so soft.”  Miguel then licks her in surprise. His tongue was tickling her

“Hehe! Hey! Stop that! You're not a dog, your a wolf.”

“ You taste good though.” Miguel gives her a toothy smirk showing off his sharp fangs. She huffed while she walked over to pick up roast beef that he placed for him to eat after. She fed him it as he rubbed his head

“Hey! I’m not a dog like you say” Miguel growled out 

“I know but I can’t take care of my big bad wolf?” Shade looks around and then looks at her watch as she is here all night. 

“What do you usually do?”

“Hunt, sleep, scare anyone that is in my territory."

“Huh…then again I figured you weren’t going to play on your phone. Want to go for a hike?” Shade said while putting her fingers together, Miguel knew that look.

“You want to ride on my back, don’t you?”

Shade blush with a nod. Miguel sigh

“You lucky I love you.”

Chapter Text

Miguel sighs not wanting to deal with this. He tries to distract himself by keeping track with everyone's mission hoping he can avoid the problem as long as he can. Telling Lyla direct any call that isn’t a spider to a message. He just hope that-

“Hey, Miguel!” 

Miguel slightly panicked hearing Shade’s voice from below. He looked down to see her wave at him before jumping up onto the platform, not needing to wait for the platform to come down. 

“Hi Shade, I see the mission went well.”

“Well of course it was a simple one and you always have my back if things go south.” she giggled. Miguel is glad that Shade has been lightened up since joining and it made her better since they've been dating. 

Shade stared at Miguel sensing something was off with him. Like feeling nervous and wanting to avoid something. Her tendrils wrap around his waist as she gaze her hands on his face, making him look at her.

“Miggy, what's wrong? Did something happen?”

Miguel sighs as he puts his hand over hers. He knows he can’t hide his feelings from her. Being her boyfriend and host does make it harder for him to hide stuff from Shade.

“It's my brother.”

“Is he giving you a hard time again?” 

“Heh, no. He called about my mother. She and George wanted to see me since it had been years since the last time I saw them.” Miguel rubs his temple. He doesn’t want to see his parents.

“And to make matters worse, Gabe also spilled that I have a girlfriend now and…they want to meet you.”

Shade was surprised and taken back by that. To be honest both of them agree to try not to get their family involved for at least for now since they haven't been together for that long. How are they going to explain to their parents that they are not from each other's earth?

“I've been avoiding it for weeks but Gabriel has been persisting because my mom has been bugging him. He even threatened to drag me there if I don’t go this weekend.”

“Then let go.”

Miguel's eyes widened from what Shade just said. Shade took off her face mask and gave Miguel a small smile.

“My parents want to see me and…I was thinking maybe I should tell them I have a new partner. The last one didn’t turn out… well.” Shade remembers that her parents hated Zee and how they treated Shade. It wasn’t a great time after the Lizard incident. 

She knows about Miguel and how he feels about his parents, so having him deal with them alone for all these years. Taking most of their verbal and sometimes physical abuse only gave the feeling of anger,bitterness, and abit of sadness that almost always coming off of him. 

“Look, we can try to avoid problems or we can take it head on. Were spider-men remembered? Or at least you.” Shade joked trying to cheer Miguel up. Miguel gave her a smile as she can feel his mood lighten just abit.

“You're a spider-woman too.” Miguel sighs but he relentlessly says 

“Ok, I will go. Just so they get off my back. Just…just be warned. They are… not the greatest of people.”

“Miguel, I literally had to fuse with you to see your life. I already know how they are going to be. Could be worse. We have to hang out with Tylor. I can’t promise you that I wouldn’t punch him in the face.” Miguel smirked as he brought Shade close to him and kissed her on the lips.

“Please do, and I’ll love you even more.”

“Ok ok kumo. Let's see. How about we do your parents first to get it over with and then will do mine next weekend? Mine don’t bite much.”

Miguel really wants to back out right now. But he is already here standing outside his parent’s house. With Shade. They work on what to say to his parents. Like, which country she is from, where she works, what degrees she has and Shade thought this is a male thing to do to impress their daughters' parents. They also made sure that Shade’s makeup is good and her limbs are covered up.  She made a cake in hope to butter them up.

Shade can feel Miguel’s anxiety and worry mostly for her. She is not going to lie, she also feels the same way mainly to act normal around normal people is just so hard when you're half symbiote.

“Will do great.” She said quietly to both herself and to Miguel. Before Miguel could say anything, the door opened as Gabriel was already here to their surprised . 

“Wow, Impressed that you didn’t bail.” Gabriel eyeing Miguel up and down to make sure he was really there. Miguel rolled his eyes behind his sunglasses. 

“Shade convinced me to come.” 

“Really? How do you do it?” Gabriel asked as Shade smirked, she’s glad one of Miguel's relationships is getting better. 

“Gabriel, who is at the door?” all three of them turn to see Conchata walking up to them. She was smoking her cigarette and eyeing both her son and Shade. 

“Well, I'm surprised you came and it looks like you brought another one. Who is she? number five?” she retorted to Miguel who didn’t appreciate her comment. He knows she is blunt but he knows that George is going to be worse.

“Where is George, ma?”

“And you're not going to call him dad?”

“You and I both know why.” Conchata rolled her eyes and led Miguel and Shade to the dinning room where George and Kasey were talking to each other. Shade was surprised that Kasey was also here. George got up from chair with a cane and hopple over to Migual and Shade with a smirk. 

“I see that my ‘son’ has returned. Finally man up to see his old man for once in his life.” George said look up at his son who grew bigger from the last time he saw Miguel.  He then turned to Shade, he wasn’t so happy. Even Shade can tell he doesn’t like her but she tries to be nice.

“Hi Mr. George-s I mean Mr.O’Hara my name is Shade Usagi.” She bowed to George. George eyed her even more with confusion.

“Is she Chinese or something? I thought she was African?” 

Shade tries not to show her confusion as she doesn't know many countries on Earths that are like Miguel’s. Miguel was ready to say something that he was going to regret till Gabe got between them.

“Hey! You and Ma promise you're going to behave. I did my end.” Gabe said as he folded his hands. It took him weeks to bug his brother to come here. He is not going to let them push him away.  Conchata walked over and put out her cigarette. 

“Well, I cook dinner. But judging how big you have gotten you really don’t need it. What have Alchemax been feeding you?" She commented on Miguel's size. Both Miguel and Shade cringe from the question. Shade whispers to Miguel’s ear.

“Ugh…guessing we forgot to figure out how to dodge that question.”  

Miguel nodded as the last time he saw his parents was when he first started out at Spider-man and he was 6’2 now he was almost 7ft tall. Kasey walk up to Miguel and Shade with a smirk

“Wow, I truly didn’t think you would show your face here. Shade must make you something to get you here.”

Shade just giggled while Miguel rolled his eyes not wanting to deal with Kasey’s banter. 

“I said that we will get this over with since my parents also want to meet Migiuel and… we can’t hide this forever.” Shade pointed out 

“Si podemos.” Miguel quietly huffed, wanting never to see his parents again and never letting them meet Shade. How they treated Xina, he knows damn well they give Shade some shit maybe even worse. 

“So why are you here? I thought you and Gabe aren’t dating anymore?” 

“Ha! We are retaking it slowly and I want to see the mayhem here today.” Kaesy laughs, not wanting to miss this drama. All four of them heard Conchata call them to come to the dinner table. Miguel sighs knowing this is going to be a long night.

Dinner was quiet and awkward. Miguel sitting across from his parents eating slowly with the same pacing as Shade who was sitting next to him. She has to keep calm so her mouth doesn’t show too much. They were so glad that they ate before coming here knowing this was going to be torture for them. Gabriel and Kasey also sat quietly like they were waiting for a bomb going off between the four. 

“Didn’t think she was your type.” and there it is the first fire thrown by George. Miguel knew his dad was going to say something first. He is the type that speaks his mind. 

“And what happened to the last one you brought over? Peter was it?  Was your gay phase done that fast?”

“I’m pansexual dad.”

“So gay.”

Miguel rolled his eyes not wanting to deal with his dad being homophobic towards him. The last person he brought over was Peter and at the time they were dating. His parents didn’t like it, not that he cared. But they really gave Miguel shit for it. One of the many reasons he didn’t come back. 

“Look, the only reason I came here is because you keep harassing Gabe for me to come here. Are you two just going to bash me all night?”

Conchata took a sip of her drink not phase on Miguel’s comment. 

“Well if you come over once in a while we wouldn’t have to do that. Unlike you, Gabriel comes at least once a week to see us.”

Gabe groans not wanting to be dragged into this argument. Miguel wanted to leave till he felt Shade’s tendril wrap around his leg to keep himself calm. He guessed Shade can feel his anger rising. Miguel took a mental deep breath to calm him down, not letting his parents get to him. 

“I've been busy dealing with the company as you two keep forgetting that I'm CEO now. Something that you always wanted.”

“And no time for us? The people that got you there? And no ‘thank you’ too?” George scoffed 

“You still have this house that Tylor gave you and I send you money. I was hoping you two took it as a hint to leave me alone forever but of course, it wasn’t enough for you two.” 

George gave off a laugh that Shade didn’t like. It  rubbed her the wrong way. 

“Well, you barely made a name for yourself. Only coat tailing your old boss. Also I heard you only control half of the company.”

“And starting to sound like him as well.” Conchata said quietly but both Miguel and Shade heard and they knew what she really meant. Miguel glared at her. Shade can feel Miguel getting more annoyed, she decided that she should try to change the subject but Conchata beat her to it.

“So Shade is it? How did you meet one of my sons?” Conchata asked but came off like Miguel found Shade in the dumpster on how she made it sound. Shade knew what to say as she and Miguel rehearsed before coming here. The least Shade could do is try to impress them.

“I met him at Alchemax, I was hired to be his assistant, there have been new changes going in the company in the past few months so he needed someone to help with the changes. We have been working for a while so we decided to try this. We have so much in common.” This was half true as Shade did what became one of Miguel’s second commands somehow. From all training and hard work to prove she was a good hero did pay off. But telling your boyfriend’s parents that the real reason that you two are together is that he is a host to a symbiote hybrid that they fell in love with, doesn’t sound like a good idea to tell.

“I should have figured you were the secretary. Then again it must be a CEO thing.” Conchata made a slide comment.

“Are you sure he didn’t just pay you off the street?” George asked. Gabriel choked on the water from the comment, while Kasey just looked at him with eyes widened. They both look at Miguel who was about ready to jump across the table to beat the shit out George. Probably for once Gabe would let him. Shade was confused by the comment but judging from the now rising anger Miguel gave off and the shame that Gabriel and Kasey felt for her, it was bad.

“No? I mean he did pick me up on a corner because I have get something one time.” Shade said with more confusion in her voice. She was pretty sure she blew thinking that they thought she was an idiot or something.

“You brought home a prostitute, great. I would have taken Peter then this.” 

“She is not a prostitute! She is my girlfriend that I meant at work nothing more. Dios mío, por eso no quería venir aquí si nos vas a tratar así.” Miguel cursed under his breath while George glared back at him. Miguel tried not to show but a hint of fear leaked out of him. Shade was surprised from fear that Miguel has from his father then again she noted some old scars on his body. Older than before he became spider-man.

Miguel trying not father's glare fazed him. He outgrown his father, hell he can beat him up not only because he is an old man but Miguel is half spider now. But the trauma from his childhood still lingers but he dare not show it. Not wanting George get the satisfaction. 

“Well, what school did she go to? Or where is she from? Her last name doesn’t sound from this country .” Conchata stated as she took another drink not fazed on Miguel outburst.

“I went to Alchemax Academy for the gifted and I’m from New Nevua. I was more in the westside of town. My parents are immigrants. They came here hoping to get me a better life.” again not entirely a lie. Shade was sent to Alchemax school on her earth before it was destroyed. And her parents did want her to have a better life.

“So your parents are immigrants? Where are they from? Your last name sounds Japanese.”

Shade tried to think what countries were that, Miles explained to her she was america mixed with japanese,italian and african due to her black skin. Before she can say anything Miguel spoke up for her.

“There are immigrants, both from different countries and they're both hard working to get there daughter where she is today.”

“You met them?” George asked. Both Miguel and Shade shake their head

“Not yet, we're seeing them next week since I want to get this over with you two.”

George sip his drink, not fazed by his son’s remark 

“Well, I hope you give them a better hostility than you giving us. Don’t want them to know I raised a son with no matters.” 

Conchata then got up a brought out the cake that Shade made for everyone. 

“Well might as well try this cake you tried to impress us with. Did you actually make it?” 

“Oh yes, I love to cook. I didn’t know what you two would like so I made something that is very popular where I wor- I mean where I buy my cakes!” Shade quickly backtrack, not wanting to give up where she really work at, a cafe instead of a huge fancy company. 

“If you made it, it's ok. It looks well done.” Conchata said as she cut the cake. Probably the nicest thing she said so far to Shade. 

“I try to make a cake you would all like, Miguel said you two made like so I made tres leches it a sector 18 delicacy.” Shade mentally slapped herself forgetting that she was not on her own earth. 

“Sector 18? Is that like a camp or something?” George asked 

“No, it's the name of a neighborhood I was in!” Shade quickly tries to fix her mistake and hopes neither of them do any deeper than that.

“Sounds like a ghetto place.” Both Miguel and Shade heard George underhand comment. Miguel could have sworn he saw his step-dad smirk thinking he wouldn’t do anything. He had no idea what Miguel could do to him. 

Shade can tension was so high between Miguel and George. She tries to think of something before Miguel beats the living shit out of him. I mean, she would let him but she doesn't want Miguel to have any regret later on.

“Miguel, can you show me your room that you promised? You did say you show me around your childhood home.” Miguel sighs, taking Shade’s hint that he needs to calm down. Only Geoge and Tylor were the only people that got under his skin so easily. Miguel could only nod at that point fearing that even if he speaks he’ll just go off on them. Miguel and Shade quickly got up and head to Miguel’s old room

“Just make sure she doesn't take anything.” George made one more slide comment enough for both of them to hear. Shade had to push Miguel up the stairs so he wouldn't turn around and charge at him. Once they got into the room, Miguel sat down on his old bed and put one hand over his face while the other gripped the bed. Shade closed the door and walked over to him and sat down next to him. His emotions are leaking out of him like a loose faucet. 

“No quiero estar aquí. No quiero estar aquí. No quiero estar aquí.” Shade can hear him muttering in Spanish knowing that is not a good sign. It is never a good sign when just talking in only spanish. She put hand over his, causing him to gripped the bed harder as Shade heard rip as Miguel’s talons scratch the bed sheet. 

“Nosotros no deberíamos estar aquí, no quiero estar aquí.”  

Shade pulled his hand away from his face, having him face her. Miguel’s eyes were slightly glowing both in anger and sadness. He wanted to cry, feeling humiliated for both of them. 

“Hey! Look, we're almost done. You said you only do two hours with them and we have 30 minutes left, ok?” 

“How can you stand there taking all this?!” 

Shade was abit taken back but she knew what Miguel meant. 

“Miguel, I was called way worse. My earth saw me as a villain for 12 years. Remember? I know how words…can hurt. But I'm done letting that slow me down. Besides both your parents try to get under your skin, mainly your dad. Trying to hurt me to hurt you. I am more angry that they are doing that to hurt you. As much as I want to…I know I don’t want to do anything to upset you.” Shade huffed out as her eyes flash red then back to purple to show how upset she really is. 

Miguel sigh, the beef with his parent will never end 

“They're doing a good job.” 

“I can tell, I sense disappointment from your mother and envy from your father.” Shade pointed out, reading everyone's emotions, trying to figure Miguel’s parents out more. 

“I also figure that much.” Miguel then looks around the room he grew up with. Nothing but bad memories, the moment he graduated from Alchemax academy he got his own place away from his parents. It was one of the happiest day of his life, but that only last for so long.

“I always hated this house.” 

“Huh?” 

He sighs “This house just reminds me that I was on a leash with Alchemax and my parents. Tylor threatened to make my family homeless and George would of took it out on me. I have to make sure I was the best, make sure I can’t shock up. If I do…then everyone gets screwed but mostly me.”

“Miguel…” just then, the two heard a knock on the door, the door opened to see Gabriel and Kasey there. 

“We were just seeing if you two are ok? You two were taking a beating from mom and dad.” Gabriel said as he could tell his brother was frustrated. Shade can tell that Gabe was half telling the truth.

“I’m guessing they sent you two to check on me? They really don’t trust me, huh?” Shade half joked but the look that Gabriel and Kasey gave off was a look of shame. They know Shade isn’t what Conchata and George think she is.

“Don’t worry about it. I have thick skin.” Shade looks around the room. There was some tech stuff and a few books but the room was mostly bare. Figuring that much since Miguel isn’t into minerals. She got up from the bed she was sitting on then looked down to see a second bed under it. 

“Did you have a lot of sleep over or something?” Shade pointed to the second bed. She soon regretted the question as she felt sadness and fear from both Miguel and Gabriel. Just the look alone was enough to tell her.

“We had many bad nights that I used to sleep with Miguel at times.”

“You only did it so they don’t bug me.” Miguel muttered as he looked around the room. He then got up from the bed, now feel a little better from getting some space from George

“Like I said, this place was nothing but bad memories. But after today, I’m done with them. They're never going to change, they haven’t for the past 35 years” he said as got up. 

He wants to be finally free from them.

“Are you sure you want to do this? I know what it's like to cut ties from someone who is toxic. If you think this is the right decision, then I'll support you. I don’t want you to have any more regrets.” Shade wants to make sure that Miguel wants this. Not wanting to have more regret on the mountain of regret he has already. Miguel gave her a soft smile and nodded, then looked over to Gabriel who agreed with Miguel. He might not have the same problem like Miguel has but he hates seeing his brother get upset every time he has to deal with their parents. He doesn't even remember the last time they were all happy. So much fighting.

Miguel looks at Gabriel wanting to know what he thinks. He felt awful leaving his brother when finally graduated from the academy. Their relationship was strained for awhile after that but Gabriel soon understood why.

“Look, dad's always been an ass and mom…I'm not going hold you if you're truly done with them. I am with Shade, I don’t want you to have regret but I also don't get hurt by them. Also be nice not to get bugged by them to get you.” Gabriel smirked at Miguel. Miguel couldn’t help smiling back so glad he had one family member that cared about him.

“Come let's finish this, I’m pretty sure the two are annoyed that were all up here avoiding them.”

All four of them headed back downstairs, George was sitting in the living room, looking annoyed that all four of them went upstairs. Conchata was cleaning up the table.

“I was wondering what took you all so long. Something  caught her eye?” George retorted. Everyone was starting to get fed up with how he was asking towards Shade, but Shade was used to it. She has her ways on upping people like this.

“Nothing worth gawking at. It is not really my style but you and Ms.O’Hara have a lovely home. Just wish host more like that.” Shade playfully sighs. Miguel,Gabriel,and Kasey couldn’t help but smirk at Shade’s statement. George glare at her comment not wanting to back down

“Well I guess my son pampered you a little too much. That seem to be your type’s things” 

“Your son pampers in his own way. He made sure to ask how my day was. When we can go out and make sure I'm well. That's all I need. Not in some fancy stuff. It too bad you have poor sight to see.”

“Miguel! Are you going to let your woman talk to me like that?!” 

“You should be happy she talking to you at all. All the shit you gave her all night. It be that last time you two talking to her as well.” Miguel sneered as Conchata came into the living room. She overheard what was going on and also wanted to see the look on George’s face as Shade was talking back at him. 

“Is it now?” Conchata asked

“I’ll send you two one last checks. That is my final gift to you two. The house is fully paid off so you can live here as long as you want. I’m not dealing with you two anymore.” 

George laughed that bugged everyone, even Conchata. He wasn’t taking Miguel’s threat seriously. As he struggled to get up and coughing while he laughed.

“ Huh? Now your man up? Didn’t do that with the other ones.”

“Trust me, I would say or do things that I would regret. But I grew from that and I grew from you.” Miguel then heads out and Shade follows after him. The two head toward the car. Miguel felt like he could breathe for the first time that they got there. Shade can tell that some weight was left off his shoulder, she holds his hand. Miguel for a moment forgot she was there. His head was thinking everything and nothing at the sametime, wondering if this was like to finally be free from one burden that ben plaguing him for so long.

“Miguel?” Miguel turns his attention back to Shade. 

“You're ok?”

“Y-yeah, I never thought I would see the day that I… finally told them off. It…bittersweet.”

“I figure that much.” the two turn around from the voice to see Conchata smoking another cigarette. 

“So this is it huh?” 

“It's been that way for years. Just finally got the courage to leave you two once and for all.” he took a deep breath, remembering all the time his mother emotionally abused him. Telling him that he is going to end up like him. Only seeing Miguel as ‘him’

“You know. All I ever wanted from you is to see me as Miguel and not like Tylor or George. That all you ever saw me didn't you?

Conchata didn’t respond. Miguel sighs

“Look, I can give some extra money to leave him and start new. I-” Miguel didn’t notice his mom walk up in front of him and rub his face. Conchata met her son for the first time tonight, not realizing how much he had grown.

“When did you become a caring person?” she asked. Miguel couldn’t help but look away and pull away. Part of him was upset that it took her up till now, when he finally left them. The other part…he was still longing for the recognition that he craved for either parent for once. 

“You never bother asked. You think I end up like…’him’. I’m nothing like him.” Miguel sneers from the last part. Conhata knew he meant Tylor. Remembering  the day that Miguel confronted her about him and him being his real father. 

“I suppose I did.” she turned to Shade, Shade couldn’t help glare at her. She is not as bad as George but the fact she still hurt Miguel in some way. 

“Shade, take care of him. He can be dumb and stubborn. Something that O’haras have in common.” 

Shade was confused about her words but there was no ill will behind her words. 

‘I wish you would care for him when he needs you the most’ Shade thought as she nodded. She wants to speak her mind but she won’t. For Miguel's sake.

Conhata then gave Miguel a card. The card said the housing department for victims of violence. 

“I work there now, I know it is ironic for me, not leaving him and all. Your ‘father’ isn’t doing too hot so I think it's fair I suffer just so I can see him rot like the bitter old man he is.” she said as took out another cigarette and lit it up. 

“Give the money to them, at least you can do it.” she said as she head back inside

“Cigarette are still illegal, you know?” Miguel calls out, Conhata waves him off. Both Miguel and Shade go back to their self-driving car. They both sat there for a few minutes in silence just to process the night.

“You ok?” Miguel asked Shade. She was surprised as she was about to ask the same thing

“I’m ok? I should be saying that to you! You just cut ties with them and I don’t want to read your emotions out loud to you.” Miguel wraps around her. She did the same with her tendrils around him, knowing he just wanted to be comforted right. 

“Isn't it normal that wish…things were different?” Miguel said trying his best not to break down in front of her, he knows Shade can sense it but she won’t point it out. 

“I don’t know. For me I just felt empty. I felt alone but you won’t feel that.”

“I won’t?”

“Because you have me. Your brother. And the other spiders who became your family. We're not going to let you be alone, not this time.” Shade kissed him as she hugged him. He couldn’t help smiling as he let Shade’s tendril wipe the tear that was beginning to fall.

“You're right. But you still have to deal with your family, you know?”

“Hehe right. Hopefully they don’t bite like yours.”

A = Affection How affectionate are they? How do they show affection?

Miguel is so-what affectionate. Since becoming the leader of the society, he closed himself off from showing any affection. But when he opens up, he takes his partner out to a place where there are just the two of them. He would cuddle them and tell them how much they mean to him.

Shade very affectionate especially if her partner is her host. She would cook food and make crafts for them. 

B = Best friend What would they be like as a best friend? How would the friendship start?

He is always there for them when they have a rough day or want someone to talk to. How it usually starts is Miguel just goes back and forth, bad mouthing them, especially if they got on his nerves at the beginning. 

Shade be the shy friend that hang in the back around but she is there. Listen to her friends problem. She knows she can’t fix all there problems but she always be there. For Shade it is extorted by choosing invert. She is dragged in to be someone's friend. 

  How Miguel and Shade became friends was they were fighting each other.

C = Cuddles Do they like to cuddle? How would they cuddle?

This man is so touch sarve it is not even funny. He would first nuzzle on his partner's neck signaling them cuddle time. He doesn't care if he has a big spoon or the little spoon he will take his partner into the room. Couch,bed,floor he doesn't care. This man just wants to cuddle.

Shade loves cuddling! It a symbiote thing. She’ll try her best not to fused doing the cuddling.

Every chance she get she’ll force Miguel into a room to cuddle.

D = Domestic Do they want to settle down? How are they at cooking and cleaning?

Miguel would love to settle down when he can. He rather cook. He might not be best cook but that man not touching laundry.

Shade wants to settle down, she love to cooking and cleaning she ok with it. 

 Shade and Miguel will get a maid to help clean one a month 

E = Ending If they had to break up with their partner, how would they do it?

For Miguel, He understands as he don’t want to mess this up. He had 6 partner and his luck on love it terrible and he so afraid he lose this one. He raither save himself from heartache.

Shade it be more harder if her partner is her host. So she ‘ll feel like she had fail to please them.but she will honor her partner wishes and let them go. But how she does it. She doesn't want to see their love as a ‘i’m just using you as a tool or host.’ 

 if Miguel and Shade have to break up it be more of understanding. He want Shade to get a chance to live a bit more then choosing him, Shade also doesn’t want their love to seem toxic. 

F = Fiance(e) How do they feel about commitment? How quick would they want to get married?

Miguel would be nervous, like the last time he tried, he only got up to be a fancee before he had to break it off. Miguel will take as much time as he can. Maybe at most a year.

Shade be loyal to the very end toward her partner. I think after six months she be ok with getting married but still would like take it slow. Not wanting to rush things.

G = Gentle How gentle are they, both physically and emotionally?

Being with 3-5 partners, Miguel learns to be more gentle both physically and emotionally. The man has super strength and if his partner is a normal person it can be difficult. Emotionally, he had hurt people more than physically and he does have moments where it slipped, but he tries his best not to hurt his partner.

She very gentle. Shade being able to read emotion she got an idea what a person is feeling if they are distorting or happy. She very gentle physically as she used her tendrils

H = Hugs Do they like hugs? How often do they do it? What are their hugs like?

He loves hugs but he won’t show it. He does once in a while if someone feels down. His hugs like a bear hug but he won’t crush his partner 

She love hugs, shade prefer it over kissing sometimes. She does a lot and she hugs a warm feeling. Which is weird for symbiotes since there cold feeling

J = Jealousy How jealous do they get? What do they do when they’re jealous?

This man is so jealous. Miguel is good at hiding it but he will give his partner hints. Like pulling them away from a person. Give a snarky comment. 

Unless it is a symbiote Shade rarely gets jealous. If she does she usually hugs her partner and tells anyone ‘their mine.’

K = Kisses What are their kisses like? Where do they like to kiss you? Where do they like to be kissed?

Sweet and gentle. He make sure he careful with his fangs unless his partners request him to bite them. He loves to kiss the neck. He like be kissed on the shoulders, neck,cheeks, and lips

She does have acid saliva. It has a burning feeling not enough to hurt but it does take a person back. She like getting kiss on the neck and fore head. She’ll kissed anywhere. 

L = Little ones How are they around children?

Miguel loves kids! Man wants so many but reasons, he is happy with just one. If they're young he shows them a good time and does the things he couldn’t do when he was young. He be the best father towards them, something he wish he had

Shade be so scared around them. She doesn't want them to be alone with her. She doesn't want to scare them with her face and all. But she makes sure they are safe around her.

M = Morning How are mornings spent with them?

Miguel is a morning person weirdly. He gets up early to clean up, cook breakfast, and do some hero patrolling. He also checks up on his partner and gives them kisses just in case he has to leave.

Shade will get up early (mainly for work) she’ll cook a huge meal for her partner and herself (mostly herself) to make sure they're ok and drinking water. If she have time she watch them off. 

N = Night How are nights spent with them?

It be late with all the hero work he has to do. You really need to drag him home sometimes. But when he does he settle down. Eat dinner, watch t.v. cuddle. Then he be knocked out.

Shade makes sure she is home on time to eat dinner with her partner. If the night is quiet she’ll read a book with them

O = Open When would they start revealing things about themselves? Do they say everything all at once or wait a while to reveal things slowly?

You need to beat the information out of him. Miguel is a very private man. If he trusts you enough he’ll tell you. When he was with Shade while she was at her lowest he told her to say ‘I can relate.” when he does he’ll dump info on you.

Shade be after she trust her partner enough. It is slow reveal not wanting to overwhelm them with her problems.

He 50-50 depends on the day and how stressed out. He will start to only speak Spanish if he is really stressed.

She tries to be patient as she can’t really afford not to be. Not wanting to be Berzerk everytime she is. 

Q = Quizzes How much would they remember about you? Do they remember every little detail you mention in passing, or do they kind of forget everything?

Miguel just needs to know enough about his partner. Will forget birthdays though, even his owe,hehe.

Shade will remember everything especially if she fused with her partner. 

R = Remember What is their favorite moment in your relationship?

Miguel I was when Shade took the offer in joining the society. He did missed her during the time after the collider incident 

Shade it when Miguel held her hand while she was Berzerk. She got used to people being afraid of her and someone like him is not a winner in her book.

S = Security How protective are they? How would they protect you? How would they like to be protected?

Man will take a bullet for his partner. Man will fight to his very last breath. Miguel doesn't want to be protected but he appreciated it if they were there for him when he was at his lowest.

Shade will kill someone if they are a threat to her partner. She is very protective, especially if there her host is. If someone protects Shade they’ll get in front of her.

T = Try How much effort would they put into dates, anniversaries, gifts, everyday tasks?

Bare min. He takes his partner out to a nice place where there are not many lights (or sound for Shade) he tries to not get an over-expensive gift to overwhelm his partner.

Shade will cook a huge feast, make the house look nice, and make a great gift. Try her best to make it the best day ever. 

U = Ugly What would be some bad habits of theirs?

Not being up front. The man is hiding his injuries and his problem. Acting he should be the one to bare the task. Shade wishes he would stop doing that because Miguel knows he is not alone and there are people there that love him even if he thinks no one does.

Hurting people. Shade tries not to say hurtful things or hurt Miguel. The worse thing was the argument Shade had with Miguel and she brought up Gabe. They both didn’t talk with each other for weeks

V = Vanity How concerned are they with their looks?

The only real issue that Miguel has is that he looks so much like his father that he can’t unsee it. Shade pressures him that he is nothing like his father.

Shade is very concerning. Her mouth scar always wears a face mask or make up to cover it up. She has to make sure her hair is black and her eyes are still purple. Cover up her blackened limbs. She always feels ugly but Miguel makes sure she isn’t, telling her she is the most beautiful woman in the world. 

W = Whole Would they feel incomplete without you?

Miguel will feel lost. No matter how many partners he has it always hurts the same when they are gone.

Shade would feel so lost, especially if her partner is her host.

all of Miguel's senses are heightened, not just his sight. He uses sight the most but he can smell them in detail. Hear things from far. Even touch is heightened.

For Miguel, acting snobby. He hates himself when he acts like a rich person at work.

For Shade she doesn't like being used as a tool. She was with a partner who was using her. Giving her some trust issues

You have to knock Miguel out; he only get three hours of sleep if he is lucky.

Shade sleeps like a baby. It helps if her host is nearby.

A = Affection How affectionate are they? How do they show affection?

Mig is not very open with his affection; he likes to keep things between him and his partner. He shows them by taking them out to cafes or arcades. Anyplace they would like to go he doesn't mind.

B = Best friend What would they be like as a best friend? How would the friendship start?

He was distant to them at first. Mig have trust issues so it takes time to get used to them. It be very business like just want to keep thing professional

C = Cuddles Do they like to cuddle? How would they cuddle?

He doesn’t mind cuddling because Miguel (his variant that he base off) likes cuddling. He does warn his partner about the thorn, especially if he is in his demon form. He wrapped his arm and tail and would let out a soft purr and rose like scent. 

D = Domestic Do they want to settle down? How are they at cooking and cleaning?

To be honest he doesn't think he could ever since he was half demon. He doesn’t know if he is immoral, or one day he goes insane and loses his mind. As much as he wants to, he knows that can never happen. 

E = Ending If they had to break up with their partner, how would they do it?

He is hurtful and he wants his partner to hate him so they can never look back at him. Mig wants them to forget about him. If they refuse he will erase their memories of him from them. But it is a very last resort. He only does it when he knows he is losing his mind. 

F = Fiance(e) How do they feel about commitment? How quick would they want to get married?

He is very loyal, he is not a cheater unlike his dad. But he wouldn’t want to get married. The whole losing his mind thing but he be quick about if he could

G = Gentle How gentle are they, both physically and emotionally?

Physically he is more gentle compared to emotionally. He watches his strength and tail especially when in his demon form. He is very blunt and sometimes has a hard time reading the room or being too blunt. He will be hurting feelings but he will apologize knowing he can be too blunt.

H = Hugs Do they like hugs? How often do they do it? What are their hugs like?

He is not much of a hugger due to his thorns but when they're not out in the open he doesn't mind. He only does it if his partner is feeling down. It comes off cold but not off putting.

I = I love you How fast do they say the L-word?

He be in his dying breath before he say it lols

J = Jealousy How jealous do they get? What do they do when they’re jealous?

He is worse than Miguel when he gets jealous. His tail slapped the ground warning people to back off their mine. His claws and thorn be out and green rose be appear in cheat till his partner that he is jealous.

K = Kisses What are their kisses like? Where do they like to kiss you? Where do they like to be kissed?

Just like hugs Mig’s kiss comes off cold but not too cold. He likes to kiss on the lips,neck and chest. He like to kiss his partner on there neck and lips 

L = Little ones How are they around children?

Not so great, he watches them but he has more uncles that give the kid 20 bucks to shut up. He will make sure they are alive when you get back.

M = Morning How are mornings spent with them?

He makes them breakfast in bed then gets on his game, if his partner requests him eat with them he will.

N = Night How are nights spent with them? 

Mig will either play games with or watch a movie till they fall asleep so he can carry them to bed

O = Open When would they start revealing things about themselves? Do they say everything all at once or wait a while to reveal things slowly?

Mig would reveal his demon form. They probably figure out he is not fully human because of the tail and the eyes. He is a little nervous. I mean turning into a 8’5 hulking-like demon isn’t something you enjoy showing but you have to just in case. 

P = Patience How easily angered are they?

Very, Mig will excuse himself and try not let his demon side slip out. He don’t want hurt his partner physically or emotionally

Q = Quizzes How much would they remember about you? Do they remember

every little detail you mention in passing, or do they kind of forget everything?

Mig remembers everything about their partner to a stalker level. It is kind of hard not to have the ability to read souls. 

R = Remember What is their favorite moment in your relationship?

His partner accepts his demon form and sees him as him and not as Miguel. 

S = Security How protective are they? How would they protect you? How would they like to be protected?

Mig is very protective and this without a contract bound on him. He will lay down his life for his partner and even go full demon even if meant they live. He doesn’t need protection he know he hard to kill, he more worry that people will hurt his partner in order to get to him

T = Try How much effort would they put into dates, anniversaries, gifts, everyday tasks?

Mig will try to remember these things to him there another day but if they mean alot to his partner he will make sure they will have a great time on that day. 

U = Ugly What would be some bad habits of theirs?

Lock himself out. He doesn't want his partner to be bothered by his issues. Especially when his demon side acts up, it is alone to deal with no one else. (

V = Vanity How concerned are they with their looks?

The only thing he really bugs is that he looks like Miguel, he grows out his hair and makes it look messy so he doesn't have to look like him. He knows the variant of him but he wishes he wasn’t his partner to make sure that he loved him for him. 

W = Whole Would they feel incomplete without you?

Yes, he would feel empty again, wanting to rid his human emotions and go full demon so it hurt the least.

X = Xtra A random headcanon for them.

Mig is a gamer, which surprised a lot of people that met him.When they go to his place they see his game set up that look like he fork over 10000 for it (he not as rich as Miguel but he does have well paying job) also type the game play are RPGs and first person shooters.

He doesn’t like partners that only see him as a tool (similar to Shade). He is half-demon but he still half-human he wish people still note that. He not evil just because most Blackheart are born from evil sin doesn’t mean he was. 

Z = Zzz What is a sleep habits of theirs?

He sleeps like 5-6 hours on a good day but he doesn't really need to sleep much due to being half-demon.
