Something of him.

Summary:

Soap has it bad for the resident big bad guy of the task force. There's nothing he can do about it though. That is until an idea strikes and he thinks he can finally have something of Ghost with him.

Work Text:

Johnny was a sap. Of that everyone in the 141 knew, no doubt there whatsoever.

He loved the 141 to pieces. They were his family out there on that terrible world they had to face everyday.
It was good to know he could rely on them, specially Ghost. He would stop at nothing for the man.

There wasn't a single thing he wouldn't do for him, even if Ghost was non the wiser about the fact.

He wished he could have more though, craved for him even.
He was a sap for the 141, but he was completely smitten by that big ass of a man.

Ghost and his stupid jokes, terrible but that never failed to bring a smile to his face.

Ghost and his stupid strength that could carry him in one arm like he weighted nothing, out of harms way.
Ghost and his stupid tactical intelligence that could get them in and back safely.

Ghost and his stupid little openings for Soap to slip through and get lost inside. His stupid eyes contact and standing too close. Gods... Johnny was a bad boy. Thinking like that of his Lieutenant. But who was he kidding, he had a soft spot for Ghost so big he could fit a whole football filed of Ghosts inside.

He even missed the idiot when they weren't on missions together, and came back so stressed out he felt like he would explode. No one got his six like Ghost. No one made him feel so safe as Simon.

He new they had something, but he also knew it was more to the side of trust, companionship and friendship, even if Ghost kept telling him that friendship wasn't on that god forsaken field manual. He just wished he could have more of him, be closer, give more. Meet him outside of work. Go for drinks, and grab lunch together. Maybe movie?

But who was he kidding?? Ghost didn't even seem to leave the base when all of them would go home. Speaking of home, it was time to head out, get a bit of time off finally. Ghost never said anything about leaving the officer's buildings on their leave, even when Soap asked directly. And now Soap was here, wanting to stay as well. Yeah, he was a sap and would miss that big stupid dumbass during the two days leave he took.

Two days... god he was so stupidly done for the man.

He even had a crazy thought of stealing one of Ghost's masks to take with him. No he wouldn't trace parallels with him wanting a mask and the whole sleeping with the boyfriend shirt thing.

Poor Simon was completely oblivious of his stupid pining, after all, but damn he really wanted something of the man to keep with him. To give him luck, or that was how he tried to lie to himself. He really wanted to say he was brave enough to sneak into the barracks for the goddamn mask, but he needed to go and Ghost was right beside him. The man was talking something about their next head out after his and Gaz two days off work, and as always he was watching Ghost more them he should. Those shoulders! Dear God.. Ghost lifted his arms, crossing them and Soap almost drooled by the sight. He had it so bad.

But the motion struck him with something else. Between Ghost's glove and sleeve.

His tattoo.

The idea struck him like lightning, making him release an exclamation. Ghost stopped talking and turned his eyes on him. Soap shook his head, and told him to keep talking, but his head was out of commission.

He and Gaz left right after. Two days later they were back on base. And Soap almost couldn't keep his giddiness off of him. He was just so happy.

He couldn't keep his smile from his face and whenever Ghost looked his way he would grin like a lunatic. Even Ghost made fun of him for it. Asking what got him in such a good mood, hinting at him getting off on his leave. But Soap never said anything. Just smiled more and more. Pure happiness.

If he made sure to deny getting fucked on leave that got nothing to do with anything. And if he didn't realize he just outed himself to Ghost with that comment, well.. that was something else entirely.

He was just so happy.

It was all that matters.

The week rolled out with them going on a reckon mission. The 141 stationed on some city, playing civilians for the day. Ghost beside him on a Cafe while he nursed a nice hot chocolate, waiting for their target to approach.

It was nice, relaxing even. He would turn this into one of his many fantasies where he would ask Ghost on a date. It gave him ideas but it was better than nothing.

The hot chocolate and his delusions warming him so much he got up to pull his hoodie off, damn small chairs, not noticing his shirt almost going with it.

"Johnny."

Quickly he looked around, searching for their target. They needed to see who he talked to, where he got to, but he still wasn't there. So his attention got back to Simon as he sat back down and arranged his hoodie in his lap.

"What?"

"Is that a Ghost tattoo on your pelvis?"

Shit! His jeans were that low!?
