While watching the news interview Endeavor about the new vigilante team, he called them outcasts. Eijirou proudly proclaimed themselves to be the Outcasts, neither legit heroes or true villains. Everyone hemd and hawd but agreed.

    • He saved Izuku, when the kid first started out and has been training Izuku ever since.
    • Isamu was known as Slow Down due to his quirk, slow motion, which allowed his to slow down objects and people. He quit after a devastating injury that left him needing a cane to get around.
      • Slow motion: User can slow down objects and people to varying degrees. The effects last for 30 minutes, then the person, slowly regains normal speed which can take up to another 30 minutes depending on how much they were slowed down. Isamu can also release them from the slow down before 30 minutes is up and they regain their normal speed.
    • Isamu also starts mentoring Tenya, Momo, Denki and Eijirou too.

    • Taka's quirk allows him to stretch his limbs up to 15 feet.

Chapter 3: Meeting Endeavor

Chapter Text

"Hello villains," Endeavor sneered at the five vigilantes before him.

The Outcasts cowered before the number 2 pro hero, who looked about ready to incinerate them. They were trapped in an alley, with seemingly no way out.

"Uh, Deku," Chargebolt stammered out. "Any plans?"

"Uh?"

Suddenly Creati charged forward, tapping at her chem bag. "I GOT THIS!!!"

"CREATI!!"

Last night an attempt to apprehend the vigilante group known as the Outcasts, failed. Number 2 Pro-hero, Endeavor was in pursuit of the vigilantes, when they trapped him in ... bubble gum flavored flame retardant. The pro-hero was stuck in the substance for over an hour, before police and other pro-heroes found him, and took them another hour to get him out as the retardant had harden at that point.

Endeavor has not commented on the incident, but number 3 pro-hero, Hawks, who was at the scene, stated that at one point they considered eating the pro-hero free and that the scene was a bit hilarious.

Tenya, Izuku, Eijirou, Denki and Momo, stared at the t.v. mounted to the top corner of the cafe.

"Do you think Endeavor would be 10x more madder, the next time we run into him?" Eijirou asked.

"Probably best we avoid him," Izuku said.

”Hey guys,” Denki called out holding his phone. “Check out all the bubble gum Endeavor memes they’re making.”

Chapter 4: How it started.

Chapter Text

  • The group met in a teen support group for quirkless teens.
  • It is run by this quirkless, hippie looking guy in his mid 40s, named Mr. Yamada.
  • Inko put Izuku in there so he wouldn't feel so alone and make friends.
  • Izuku was well into vigilantism at this point and staying up at night to fight bad guys kinda took a toll on his sleep. Inko thought that Izuku was getting depressed.
  • It is there Izuku befriends Tenya, Momo, Denki and Eijirou.
  • Tenya is all about finding self-worth and going to UA general studies to better help his pro-hero brother. Momo is actively participating to find her own self- confidence. Eijirou and Denki are 'we don't wanna be here but our parents are making us.' Izuku is like 'I sympathize with you all, my mom is forcing me to go here, but this is the first time I have made friends.'
  • The teens get along very well, but Izuku can't hang out with them due to his 'job' at the cafe (He was already working there).
  • One night they stumble upon Izuku battling a villain. Izuku lets his identity slip and basically has to save them and bring them to Isamu’s cafe.
  • After a whole lot of questioning and freaking out, Izuku explains why he is a vigilante, and that he is dedicated to helping people, if not as a hero then as this.
  • Tenya and Momo are mad and want Izuku to stop because 1) he’s putting himself at risk 2) what he is doing is illegal.
    • Denki points out that Izuku doesn’t have a quirk, so it is not really illegal.
  • Eijirou and Denki really want to get into the vigilante business and be quasi-heroes, but Momo and Tenya are like “Heck no!”
    • They eventually join as well, ‘just to make sure that the others are safe.’

Izuku is like: Hey Isamu-san, I got 4 new teammates!

Isamu: Aw, fuck. What did you tell them?

Denki: You’re the former vigilante Slow Down!

Izuku: *sweatdrop* Not much.

  • Isamu, reluctantly, now has four more kids to babysit/mentor and gives them jobs at his cafe so they have a place to meet up.

Eijirou: Why did you decide to mentor Izuku?

Momo: Probably to pass on his wisdom and knowledge.

Isamu: To prevent the kid from ending up dead in an alleyway.

  • After a few weeks, Izuku is able to create everyone’s gears and costumes and they all come up with codenames when they go out in the field.
  • Thus the Outcasts begin.

Chapter 5: Meeting Eraserhead

Chapter Text

So one night on patrol…

”Hey Deku, have you ever met Eraserhead,” Red Riot asked.

”Well once,” Deku replied. “He was trying to capture me, but his scarf wrapped around my arm and he accidentally activated my lasers, so he blasted himself in the face.”

Later that night…

The Outcasts looked on in horror at Eraserhead standing before them.

”Oh no! It’s Eraserhead!” Engine shouted.

”Oh god, there’s more of them,” Aizawa muttered in dread.

The next day.

The team was setting up the cafe for before it opened.

”You know I’m surprised that Eraserhead, just let us go,” said Eijirou.

”Maybe there was crisis or villain that took precedent,” Momo said.

Same day at U.A.

”You okay?” Present Mic asked his longtime friend. Eraserhead sat at his desk looking more stressed, tired and dejected than usual.

”I’m questioning my life choices,” Aizawa replied.

Chapter 6: The cafe

Chapter Text

  • Isamu owns a cafe called the Jumpstart Cafe. It is a local business more akin to Starbucks, rather than say a maid’s cafe.
  • The workers there are Shubo, Izuku, Tenya, Momo, Denki and Eijirou.
  • The uniform is a white or green shirt with black pants and black waist aprons.
  • The kids mainly prepare drinks, warm pastries and help with clean up. Isamu and Shubo will mostly due the baking.
  • The cafe has a counter on one side with the kitchen behind it. The rest of the area has couches, chairs and tables.
  • Isamu is a fair boss and doesn’t put up with crap from customers.
  • Once, when they were out of a certain cookie, a lady took the pastries on display, threw them to the floor and stomped on them saying that if she couldn’t have her cookie no one could. Needless to say, Isamu did not let her leave until she paid. For. Every. Single. Pastry.

Chapter 7: Hosu

Chapter Text

  • When Tensei aka Ingenium confronted the hero killer Stain, he was paralyzed by Stain’s quirk, but was saved by Isamu, who just walking by and saw the entire thing.
  • Isamu managed to slow down Stain, and slow down Tensei in order to slow the progression of his injuries. He then dragged Tensei to the hospital, where he recovered from only minor injuries.
  • When Tenya learned of the incident, he was enraged. He looked up to older brother so much as Tensei was a great commander and exemplary hero.
  • Despite Isamu assuring Tenya that Tensei is okay and expected to make a full recovery, Tenya can't let it go.
  • Tenya sneaks out and make his way to Hosu. He looks for Stain, but is confronted by Isamu and the others.
    • Isamu had a feeling that Tenya would do something stupid. This was confirmed when Tenya's suit was gone and his communicator was turned off. Fortunately, Tenya forgot to turn off his locator.
  • An argument ensues, when Isamu drops a bombshell - He fought Stain as a vigilante.
    • When Isamu was still, Slow Down, he faced Stain, who was trying to kill a local thug. Isamu managed to defeat Stain, due to the fact his slow motion quirk lasted longer than Stain's paralyzing quirk.
    • Isamu and the thug managed to get away, but during the fight, Stain gashed Isamu's leg pretty badly, ending his vigilante career and requiring Isamu a cane to get around.

Isamu (to Tenya): He is a sociopathic, highly trained, serial killer and you are a quirkless, 15 year old on skates. He won't go easy on you because you're a kid. He will kill you! Do you not understand the danger you are putting yourself in? If you die, how will that affect your family? What will your parents think? What will your BROTHER think!?

  • At that moment, Tenya has an epiphany. He didn't think how his actions would affect those closest to him, and how straight up reckless he was being. Tenya breaks down crying and apologizing to the others.
  • Isamu pulls him into a hug, while the rest of the Outcast comfort him.

Denki: Man, what if Stain just came in right now and started fighting us?

Everyone: SHUT UP DENKI!!!

  • The next day, Tenya visits Tensei in the hospital. Tensei is okay and is expected to be released in a few days.
  • After some short chit chat, Tenya starts crying again and apologizing to Tensei, but not saying what for. Tensei, slightly panics and tells Tenya that there was not much he could do and Tensei doesn't expect anything from him, except living a good life.
  • Later, Tensei and the chief of police in Hosu review the security camera of Tensei's fight with Stain. Tensei points out Isamu from the footage and wants to know who that man is.

Chapter 8: Eraserhead and Ingenium headcanon

Chapter Text

  • Aizawa would be the first pro hero the Outcast would get ‘close’ too.
  • Eraserhead tried to apprehend Deku once, but failed, due to accidentally activating Deku’s palm laser and blasting himself in the face.
  • For the longest time, Aizawa wondered how Deku was immune to his quirk.
  • He watched Deku from a distance when he could, and got more suspicious when the others joined.
  • He started speculating that the Outcast were quirkless, first with Momo’s chem bag and then working out that none of the vigilantes had any powers.
  • He watches them more consistently now. They don’t have any powers so technically they’re not breaking the rules, but Aizawa still thinks what they are doing is extremely reckless.
  • He refers to the Outcast as his problem children.

  • Tensei loves his brother Tenya with all his heart. He encourages his brother to do his best and be the best person he can be.
  • Because Tenya is quirkless, Tensei knows that he is not expected to become a pro-hero like the rest of the family and can choose any path in life.
  • Tenya is studying at U.A. General Studies to help his brother in the future, but Tensei just wants him to live a good life.
  • Tensei survived the incident with Stain, and is still a pro hero thanks to Isamu. Tensei tried to get Isamu to join Idaten, but he refused.

Isamu: I can barely walk to my bathroom without a cane, and you’re saying you want me running around to save lives?!

  • Tensei would find out about Tenya being a vigilante by finding one of Tenya’s skates haphazardly hidden under his bed. From there Tensei put two and two together.
  • Tensei is more lenient with vigilante laws, but is still horrified that his quirkless, baby brother is fighting villains every night. He doesn’t let on that he knows but subtly tries to steer Tenya away from his nightly activities by inviting to the company more and having him participate in more administrative hero work.
  • It is with his conversation with Taka, Momo’s family butler, when the two indirectly tell each other that they know the truth about the Outcast, that Taka tells about his experiences finding out that Momo was doing vigilante work. At first he was terrified, but seeing Momo grow into a confident young woman gave Taka the assurance that she would be fine and that Tensei should do the same.
  • Tensei understands this when seeing his brother in action one night saving people. Tensei decides to step back and support his brother from a distance, but will step in when he needs too.

Chapter 9: Codenames

Chapter Text

“We should make codenames,” Eijirou said. Everyone in the cafe breakroom looked at him. “We’re vigilantes now, we should make codenames, like Izuku has.”

“It would be a good idea for concealing our identities further,” Momo said. She hemd for a moment before turning to Izuku. “How did you come up with your codename?”

“Oh! Well,” Izuku stammered, looking a bit flustered. “Uh… well a kid I knew called me ‘deku’ because I didn’t have a quirk. So I call myself ‘Deku’ to sort of turn an insult into something positive.”

“I see,” said Tenya. “So you took your biggest insult and made it into a source of strength.”

Eijirou shot up and stamped his foot on the table. “Alright! Enough chit-chat. My codename will be Red Riot.”

“After the hero Crimson Riot?” Denki asked.

“Yeah, that dude is manly as hell!”

“GET YOUR FOOT OFF THE TABLE!” Isamu shouted from the doorway.

Eijirou scrambled back into his seat as the other giggled at his embarrassment. Momo spoke up.

“Well then, my codename will be Creati,” she proudly said.

“Oh because you make things with the chem-balls,” said Denki. Denki thought for a moment about his codename. “I got it. Chargebolt!”

“That’s really good,” Izuku complimented.

“Yeah fits your suit powers,” Eijirou exclaimed.

“What about you Tenya?” Momo asked.

Everyone looked at Tenya.

“I…I don’t have a name in mind,” he said.

“How about Skates?” Eijirou suggested. “I mean you are rolling around on those disks all the time.”

“That doesn’t sound like a good name,” Izuku retorted.

There was a pause before Denki spoke up.

“What about Engine,” he said. The group stared at him before he continued. “Tenya, you said that most of your family has an engine quirk and the jets in your boots give you an extra boost, so why not call yourself ‘Engine’?”

Everyone gazed in awe at the revelation.

“Yeah,” said Izuku. “That sounds really cool.”

“A lot better than my idea,” Eijirou said dejectedly.

Momo turned to Tenya. “So Tenya…?”

Tenya thought for a moment.

“Engine,” he said. “I like it.”

Chapter 10: Stain

Chapter Text

  • A few days after the Stain incident, the Outcasts are on patrol. Isamu and Shubo are closing up the cafe.
  • Isamu gets a call from Deku that they are wrapping up, and should be heading back soon.
  • Isamu then goes to throw out some garbage when suddenly a sword is at his throat.

Stain: I thought I recognized you from somewhere. In the alleyway… nearly got caught by the cops thanks to you.

Isamu: Pretty pathetic to go after a crippled man.

Stain: Even crippled you still manage to get in my way…Slowdown.

  • Stain announces his intentions to kill Isamu once and for all. Just when he is about to, Stain gets jabbed in the leg by Isamu’s cane and Isamu manages to get away, but not far.
  • Stain, annoyed by the act, is not deterred as he advances on Isamu, ready to kill him. He is then kicked in the face by Deku as the others arrive.
  • The Outcasts are now engaged in a 5v1 fight with the hero killer. They know Stain’s quirk and do their best to avoid getting paralyzed. Red Riot and Creati create defenses, while Deku, Chargebolt and Engine go on the offensive.
  • Engine struggles with not going full berserk on Stain because of what Stain nearly did to his brother, but a reckless move fueled by rage results in him being paralyzed. Now the Outcast have to defend a prone Engine and Ismau while fighting Stain.

Isamu: WHERE THE HELL IS SHUBO?!!!?

Shubo is in the cafe, mopping the floors while listening to music with headphones on.

  • Stain is able to get Red Riot, severely lowering their defenses. As Stain is about to go for another attack, Eraserhead stops him by wrapping his scarf around Stain’s arm. This allows Creati to immobilize him in bubble foam.
  • This is short lived as Stain quickly free himself and resumes fighting. Thankfully, Eraserhead’s quirk nullifies Stain’s quirk allowing Red Riot and Engine to move again.
  • Engine decides to put his emotions aside and focus on defeating Stain and protecting his friends, not getting revenge.
  • This time, with the combined efforts of the Outcasts and Eraserhead, they are able to trap Stain in a quick hardening foam and immobilize him for good.
  • Shubo runs outside, finally having seen what happened through the back window and called the police.
  • The Outcasts make a quick get away via a smoke bomb. Eraserhead is credited as the hero that defeated the hero killer, which gains him a lot of unwanted attention.

Later

  • Aizawa is walking through the General Studies department, when he crosses Tenya walking in the opposite direction.
  • Aizawa notices something, and stops Tenya. He examines Tenya, to much of the teen’s confusion, but Aizawa lets him go, brushing off the suspicions as probably nothing.

Aizawa: Looking back at the fight.. Engine.. I could have sworn…. Ugh. I’m just tired and stressed from everything.

Chapter 11: Yokai

Chapter Text

The Outcasts were on patrol as usual. They were at the cargo docks, which had reports of suspicious activity going on.

“Are you sure this is the spot where villain activity is going on?” Chargebolt asked over the comms.

“That’s what the scanners reported over the last few days,” Deku replied. He hopped from crate to crate. The rest of them scanned the area via the ground.

“Nevertheless, we must remain vigilant,” Creati stated. “Danger could be lurking where we least expect it.”

“Yeah, but we’ve been here for two hours,” Red Riot groaned.

“Nothing in the outside perimeter,” Engine stated over the comms. “And no heroes nearby.”

The Outcasts regrouped. They found nothing suspicious.

“Well, we just wasted a whole two hours,” Red Riot mumbled. “Seriously, why are we doing this when we could be chasing down- HOLY MOTHER OF MEGATRON!”

The group turned to stare at the scene of a mysterious man in a yokai mask and trench coat, lifting a cargo crate with a mysterious black mass.

“I’m not the only one seeing this, right?” Red Riot asked. Chargebolt snapped a photo. Unfortunately, the flash didn’t go unnoticed. The villain saw them and hurled the crate towards the vigilante team.

After a lot of fighting, running and screaming (on Denki’s part), the Outcasts finally managed to get away from the villain and into an alley.

“Who was that?” Chargebolt practically screamed out.

“A villain,” Creati replied, catching her breath.

“But who?”

“Chargebolt, we don’t know,” said Engine. “And clearly, he is very powerful.”

“I guess that was the suspicious villain activity,” Red Riot stated.

“And he was trying to kill us!” Chargebolt shouted still freaking out.

“We don’t know if he was trying to kill us,” said Creati.

“He threw a cargo crate and a car at us,” Chargebolt rebuffed.

“I’d say that’s trying to kill us,” Red Riot said in agreement.

Engine got his teammates attention. “Whatever just happened, we need to talk to Isamu, right Deku?”

Deku stood with his back to the group, saying nothing.

“Deku?”

Deku turned to them and outstretched his arm. In his hand was a little black microbot. The Outcasts examined it in confusion.

“Uh... what is that?” Chargebolt asked.

Chapter 12: Hound Dog

Summary:

Sorry for the hiatus. Been busy. Enjoy this small treat.

Chapter Text

Chargebolt was backed into a corner. Separated from his team and faced off against Hound dog, alone in an alley. The pro hero snarled ready to take the illegal hero in for his vigilantism. Chargebolt genuinely wondered how he would get out of this one.

The rest of the Outcasts came bursting into the alleyway.

“CHARGEOLT!” Deku shouted. “WE'RE HERE TO-”

“Who’s a good boy? Who’s a good boy?” Chargebolt said as he rubbed Hound dog’s belly. The pro hero laid on his back, panting happily. The rest of the team looked on in bewilderment.

“I don’t know whether to be impressed or confused,” Creati said.

“And this is a pro hero,” Engine added.

“How are we going to stop him long enough to escape?” Red Riot asked.

Aizawa and Hizashi stared at the scene before them in confusion.

“Resist! Resist!” Vlad King shouted as he furiously rubbed Hound dog’s belly.

“What’s going on?” Aizawa asked.

“Apparently, Hound dog asked Vlad King to help him overcome his weakness of belly rubs,” Hizashi answered.

Chapter 13: Yokai Part one

Chapter Text

  • After the initial attack at the cargo bay, Deku examines the little black object they found. He reports to the other that the object is a microbot and a man-made one at that.

Momo: So it’s not from a quirk.

Izuku: No. It is made completely by hand and there is a sensor in it, designed to pick up neural frequencies.

Tenya: That would mean…

Isamu: Whoever you fought back there didn’t have a quirk or at least didn’t use it.

  • The team decides to go back to the cargo bay later and look for clues.
  • Later Tenya is with Tensei, running some errands at the mall. Tensei has been doing better since the Stain attack and chats to Tenya about how school life is going. Suddenly, a mysterious yellow gas fills the mall, causing people to gag and cough. Tensei tries to help but falls victim to the gas. Tenya is strangely unaffected , so he uses Tensei’s hero comms to call for help.
  • Everyone affected by the gas is taken to the hospital and very ill. The only ones not sick were Tenya and a middle aged woman. They are kept in quarantine, then released.
  • Tenya gathers the Outcasts and tries to convince everyone to find the reason behind the gas attack, but Isamu stops him, saying that this is in the hands of the pro heroes.
  • At the “Quirkless but not Worthless” teen group meeting, Mr. Yamada notices that Tenya is upset and takes him aside after the meeting to chat. Tenya states that after everything that happened to his brother, he can’t help but feel like a useless bystander. Mr. Yamada states that his feelings are valid, but that doesn’t mean he needs to fix every problem that comes his way; just be there for his brother and everything will work out fine.
  • Back at the cargo bay, the Outcast finds a hidden lab in one of the crates. There is a workshop to produce mass amounts of microbots.

Red Riot: It’s like a goddamn mini factory for microbots.

  • Creati stumbles upon photos and news clipping of scientists at a chemical company, and an article of a gas explosion that killed many faculty and staff. She finds a highlighted section of a staff member, not killed by gas explosion, but by being trampled to death from those fleeing the explosion. Creati can’t help but note that one of the scientists in the photo looks familiar but can’t place it. Regardless, she takes photos of everything.
  • The group also stumble upon a strange yellow liquid emitting a gas. Tenya suspects that this is the gas that was at the mall, so Deku takes samples.
  • Unfortunately, the Yokai masked man returns and engages in battle with the vigilantes. After a brief battle, the Outcasts make a getaway.
  • Back at the hideout, the Outcasts show the gas to Isamu, who immediately jumps back from the fumes making him nauseous, but the kids feel nothing. Shubo also feels sick from the smell even though he is in the other room.
  •  Momo deduces that the gas has an effect on people with quirks, but not quirkless people. That’s why Tenya and the lady were unaffected by the gas attack: both were quirkless.
  • Now they know what the gas does but, how do the pieces all fit, who is the Yokai masked man and what is his goal.
  • Isamu goes ahead and leaves an anonymous tip to the police and tells the vigilantes to leave it at that.
  • On the hero's side, the pro-heroes and police check out the cargo bay, but the crate is empty. There are traces of chemicals, so whoever was there packed up shop and hauled out of there.
  • Naomasa talks to Eraserhead, about the relation between the gas attack at the mall and the mysterious tip. He is concerned that something big is about to happen, that could harm a lot of people.
  • Eraserhead calms his concerns and assures Naomasa that they will stop whoever is doing this. Eraserhead decides to pop by the back of Isamu’s cafe and have a chat with the owner.
  • Eraserhead brings up the incident with Stain and states that Isamu is quite acquainted with the Outcasts. He wants to know what they know about the gas attack. Isamu is vague and states that while he sees them around he doesn’t know what they know and leaves it at that.
  • Just then Eijirou comes out to tell Isamu that he and the others are heading out, but is shocked to see Eraserhead there. Eraserhead leaves, and Isamu heads inside.

Eijirou: What did he want?

Isamu: Just what you guys know about the gas attacks.

Eijirou: Did…you…

Isamu: I didn’t tell him anything, relax.

Chapter 14: Yokai Part Two

Chapter Text

  • Later at home, Momo researches the gas explosion described in the news clipping. She finds out that the lab was working on a gas that would incapacitate crooks, but negligence of safety regulations led to the explosion. She also discovers a series of articles discussing a failed lawsuit by Yoshio Sato for the death of wife, Maki Sato, who was trampled to death by the ensuing chaos.
    • Momo suspects that Yoshio is the Yokai man. She calls Denki to ask if he could look for that man’s whereabouts, since he is better at social media searching than she is, but finds that he has moved out of the country and remarried.
  • Meanwhile, Tenya goes to Mr. Yamada’s house to talk, since Mr. Yamada allows the kids to visit his home when they need to. Mr. Yamada isn’t there, but Tenya finds the microbots and Mr. Yamada plans to release the gas at the Sky Egg tower. Unfortunately, he gets captured by the Yokai man, but not before sending a message to the group that says ‘Danger, Yamada, Sky Egg.’
  • At the cafe, Isamu asks Izuku and Eijirou where Tenya is, since he is usually early for his shift. The two don’t know. Momo and Denki arrive to tell the group of their findings, when they get the text. Eijirou is confused, but Izuku sees on the locator that Tenya is moving at a fast rate.
  • Denki gets everyone’s attention and reveals that while going through Maki Sato’s social media he found out her father is Mr. Yamada. More digging showed that he worked at the same lab company, but specialized in microbots with neural sensors. Momo recognized him from the news clippings.
  • Izuku puts it all together: “ So Mr. Yamada worked at the company when the gas explosion happened. His daughter was killed, and her husband filed a lawsuit which was dismissed. After that he took his microbot research and the toxic chemical to get revenge.”
  • Eijirou remembers that Tenya went to visit Mr. Yamada at his home and must have been captured. Denki then tells the group that the chemical company is doing a conference at the Sky Egg. Isamu voices his concerns about the group going to confront Yamada with the Pro heroes likely showing up, but the Outcasts don’t care. They need to save their friend.
  • At the Sky Egg, Yokai aka Mr. Yamada begins his attack, locking the executives of the chemical company as well as many people in the room, taking out the guards and secures both Tenya and the bomb to release the gas to the top of the antenna via microbots.

Tenya: Mr. Yamada! Please stop! You’re going to hurt countless people!

Yokai: You don’t understand. I have to send a message for my daughter.

Tenya: What about what you’re doing to innocent people!? You hurt my brother!

  • Yokai gives a silent look, but regains his determination and leaves. Just as predicted the pro heroes, such as Eraserhead, Hawks, Midnight and Endeavor show up, Yokai is prepared. He blocks and exits and sinks tons or microbots on the heroes forcing them to protect the crowd and fight the villain.
  • The Outcasts show up as well. Creati and Chargebolt are able to create an escape for civilians but by cutting open a door and using the chem-balls to block the microbots from covering it. Eraserhead is not happy to see the vigilantes, but Deku tells the heroes that the microbots are not a quirk and are controlled by the mask.

Midnight: So.. this bad boy needs to be put to sleep? Well that can be arra- ack! (Immediately gets punched by microbot fist)

Red Riot: Yeah…let’s do something about the microbots first.

  • As Deku and Red Riot help the heroes fight Yokai and evacuate people, Creati and Chargebolt free Tenya and set on getting the bomb at the top of the antenna.

Creati: (Throws chem-ball to create make-shift climbing steps) Chargebolt, get the bomb!

Chargebolt: Why me!

Creati: Because your plasma cutters cut through microbots.

  • Fortunately Hawks gets the bomb, only to discover that it is on time with less than a minute. Creati warns that there is not enough time to get the bomb deactivated or out of the city and if it goes off it will cause massive devastation.
  • She takes the bomb, secures to the roof and creates a chem-dome. The bomb goes off and misshapes the dome, but no gas escapes.
  • Back at the fight, Yokai manages to subdue the heroes and vigilantes, and trap them. Ready to finish them off, Hawks clips the mask off him with his feathers and destroys it. The microbots deactivate, and Yokai is captured by Eraserhead.
  • Endeavor tries to grab the vigilante but a chem smoke bomb aids in their escape, except Tenya who stays as he is only seen as a hostage in this.
  • In the end, Mr. Yamada is arrested, those affected by the mall gas attack are healed and the heroes at the scene get all the credit. However, the Outcasts mourn the loss of a mentor in Mr. Yamada.

Tenya: Just…what makes a man do something like that.

Isamu: The world can be a cruel place that can make people snap and go over the edge. We just have to remember that no matter what life throws at us, we can’t fall down a dark path and drag others down with us.

Chapter Text

Today on the news...

The attempt to apprehend the vigilante team, known as the Outcasts has failed again. A group effort by various pro-heroes failed, when said heroes were subjected to an itching quirk. Hawks, Endeavor, Midnight, Present Mic and a few others have been subjected to this quirk, but are expected to make a recovery. Police detective Naomasa has this to say:

"These vigilantes should not be regarded as heroes of any kind. They are villains breaking law and no matter how long they keep this rouse up, they will be apprehended."

Later...

"HOW COULD YOU LET THEM GET AWAY????" Endeavor roared in a post-mission meeting.

"How were we supposed to know, one of them had an itching quirk?" Hawks retorted.

At the cafe...

"So Izuku" Eijirou asked. "Since when did you have itching powder in your gauntlets?"

"Oh, I just found a discarded box in the dumpster, during the fight," Izuku replied.

A few days earlier...

"So this is how we capture the Outcasts. Everyone understand?" Naomasa asked.

"Yes," said the heroes in the school conference room. Outside in the hallway, they were unaware of a spy listening in.

'I known I shouldn't be eavesdropping,' Tenya thought. 'But I can't let my team and I get captured.'

Notes:

Tenya is an unintentional spy in U.A.

Chapter Text

  • Eventually the Outcasts would go to U.A. and be in the hero course. It would be Nezu’s idea after their identities are discovered.
  • The Outcast would be sitting in the police station waiting for some punishment. Eijirou gives some pep talk:

Eijirou: Guys… I know what we did was illegal. We knew it was illegal, but we still did it for whatever reason we wanted to. But in the end we did it to help people, and we helped a lot of people, probably more than any of us ever expected to. We should be proud of that, that we did something, that we made a difference in someone’s life, that their loved one is safe, that they get to go home to their families. (Stands up) We should carry that feeling going forward, knowing we did good even if we did it on the wrong side of the law. We knew the consequences and we accepted it. Whatever the punishment is, we go through this together and it is nothing we didn’t expect!

Nezu: Congratulations! You all are going to UA!

Eijirou: Except for that.

  • Nezu’s reason for doing this is a) he sees potential in them and b) villains are rising and they need all the help they can get.
  • The parents aren’t too happy about their kids’ vigilantism but accept Nezu’s offer.
  • The Outcasts are put in the hero course, which is quite the talk for a while.
    • Bakugo is upset that Izuku got in without a quirk.
    • Shinso is jealous that his friend Tenya got into the hero course with no quirk, while he has a ‘villain’ quirk.
      • This strains their friendship for a while.
  • The kids are put in class-A, but on weekends shadow a hero, since they already have experience.
    • Tensei tried to get Tenya to come work with him (protective older brother instincts), but Tenya chose Hawks.
  • Aizawa refers to them as his problem children
  • Isamu gets to work in UA as a teacher, with Shubo as an assistant.
    • His cafe got destroyed in a hero/villain fight, and this was Nezu’s way of making it up to him.
  • Bakugo isn’t interested in learning from some, “old washed up vigilante”
    • He proceeds to get defeated by said vigilante Isamu, who criticizes him for relying only on his quirk and not technique.
  • Isamu and Aizawa are in the ‘tired parent/don’t mess with our kids’ club together.

Notes:

The next few chapters are gonna focus on how the characters (og/oc) fit in this AU. So expect more character development headcanons and maybe some world-building.

Chapter Text

  • How the Outcasts develop…
  • Izuku
    • Basically, while he was a solo vigilante, he got used to being in a team. He had been a vigilante for a while and his drive to do so, stems from his intense drive to be a hero and save as many people as possible.
    • The analyst of the group, he would examine the situation, and explain what is going on and come up with a plan.
    • Izuku doesn’t really see himself as a leader and would rather it be either Tenya or Momo, but both assure him that he is the best at it.
    • Also, team mechanic, fixing everyone’s gear.
    • Izuku is still a big All Might fan, but hasn’t met him yet
    • When he goes to the hero program in UA, All Might would approach Izuku to be the next successor to One for All. Izuku would refuse at first, but with All for One on the rise, Isamu and the others would convince him, since he is the most suited for the quirk.
      • After getting One for All, Denki comments how Izuku’s been getting more broken bones. Isamu is ready to kill All Might. All Might is cowering.
    • True to the canon, Izuku loses One for All after All for One is defeated, and becomes a hero/teacher at U.A., applying Isamu’s teaching to his students.
  • Tenya
    • Speedster of the group, plus wannabe leader. Tenya first learns that leadership is not just given out, but earned. If Izuku is out, he becomes second-in-command.
    • While in the general studies at UA, he made friends with Shinsou. They are close until it comes out that Tenya was a vigilante, and get shoehorned into the hero course.
      • Shinsou is jealous of how easily the path of a hero was given to Tenya, while Tenya was an illegal vigilante.
      • They are able to patch things up. Tenya may have asked (read begged) Aizawa to take Shinsou under his wing to be a hero.
    • While Tenya seemed to have joined vigilantism to make sure that the others were safe, underneath it all: Everyone in his family are heroes, so he wants to prove himself and see himself as someone worthwhile.
    • Parents aren’t too thrilled with what he has been doing, so things at home are tense. Tensei is trying his best to be there for Tenya.
  • Momo
    • One of the three brains of the group (Izuku and Tenya).
    • At first, Momo is a shy, in her shell kind of girl who lacked confidence. During her time as a vigilante, Momo grows more confident and develops a more bubbly and fiery personality.
    • She’s able to apply her chemical knowledge to her vigilantism through her chem-balls.
    • Eventually, Momo realizes that she can’t always rely on her chem-ball in certain situations, so Isamu teaches her bojutsu and becomes quite skilled at the staff.
    • When she gets to UA, Momo is nervous and desperately wants to be friends with her new classmates.
      • She does this easily with her personality.
  • Eijirou
    • Eijirou is the muscle of the group.
    • At first, he thinks that vigilantism is this cool, adventurer type thing, but is hit hard by the realities of operating outside the law.
    • Eijirou struggles with a lifetime of feeling weak due to being quirkless, so vigilantism provided a feeling of strength and power. It is until, during a villain fight, Eijirou freezes in fear and the civilian nearly dies.
      • Eijirou basically slumps into self-doubt again, but is talked out of it by Isamu, who encourages him to grow stronger as a person, not with gear.
      • Isamu details his own fears when he started vigilantism and his fears now, but he pushes through and confronts them, not running away.
    • Eijirou has his black hair throughout the series.
    • When he enters UA, Eijirou gets along with most of his classmates, and butts heads with Momoya from class 1B, who calls the Outcasts villains undergoing reformation.
  • Denki
    • The literal powerhouse of the group. Denki is not the brainiac in the group, but does have his moments.
    • Like Eijirou, Denki thought vigilantism would be this cool thing, but realizes the dark reality of it.
    • Denki is a bit cowardly in fights, but comes through for his friends and innocent people.
    • Denki, like many people, idolizes heroes, but wants to prove that he is more than some quirkless kid. All his life he was looked down on or pitied, so he wants to change that.
    • He is very close to his friends, especially Eijirou, and is quite observant.
      • Once Izuku gets One of All, Denki realizes how powerful the quirk is, and the damaging effects on the user’s body. He becomes very concerned for Izuku’s health and well-being.
    • Tries to present himself as a ladies man. More than once tried to romance a girl while on patrol or during a rescue.
    • At UA, he avoids Houngdog like the plague.

Chapter 18: Lesson number one

Summary:

This is a song fic that has been in my head for a while. Enjoy.

Lesson Number One from Mulan 2.

Chapter Text

The screams and chaos generated by the kids was astounding. Isamu had faced many things in his life, but a bunch of rambunctious kids from Masegaki Primary school was something else. Apparently, these kids never learned to respect authority and Isamu can’t help but feel that the parents dropped the ball on this one.

This was Isamu’s test, according to Gang Orca: win over the kids, so he can be a teacher at UA. Isamu did not think that this was sufficient testing for a teacher position, but his cafe was destroyed and he needed a job. Shubo was quivering in some corner trying to avoid this whole mess, granted he is not one to deal with a gaggle of unruly kids, but Isamu deals with teenagers and Karen customers so, better than nothing. With a deep sigh he approached the kids.

“Okay everyone,” he called out. “Settle down!”

No one listened. “Settle down! Hey!”

Isamu barely dodged a hoard of binging balls hurled at him, by some kid, Tamashiro he thinks the kid’s name was. Isamu glared at the kid. “That is not very nice.”

“Oh yeah,” Tamashiro said. “Like we have to listen to you.”

The kid sent more binging balls Isamu’s way, but the man didn’t panic. With one swift move of his cane Isamu whacked every single one of those chompy-black ball monsters without breaking a sweat. Tamashiro seemed shocked that his quirk was defeated so easily as did the other students who just stared in awe.

“You have power, I give you that,” Isamu said. “But if you think just using brute force is the way to go, you got another thing coming.”

“Whatever, I’ll still be a hero some day,” Tamashiro shouted as he sent his biggest binging ball yet at the man. Isamu just leaped over it, before whacking it into submission. He turned to the boy.

“Beating up people isn’t being a hero, it’s being a villain,” Isamu stated firmly. “If you want to be a hero, you have to be gentle, at the same time you’re being tough.”

“That’s a silly notion,” said some smug kid as he walked up to the adult. No doubt the leader of these rascals. “How can you be tough and gentle? It’s impossible.”

Isamu took a breath before explaining: “It sounds funny, but the world is filled with opposites and so are all of you. To be a good hero, you must bring them all into balance.” The kids looked at him in confusion. “Uh, let’s see if this help:”

[Isamu]

Earth, sky

Day, night

Sound and silence

Dark and light

One alone is not enough

You need both together

Winter, summer

Moon and sun

Isamu quickly pulled off a jump and staff-spin in mid-air before landing.

“Okay, I’m ready!” Tamashiro called out that he struck a fighting pose.

“Uh-huh, but you’re still out of balance,” Isamu stated, simply nudging the boy off balance. “You’re halfway there.”

Komari stared in awe at her students. They finally seemed to have calmed down. They weren’t loud and rambunctious, but now listen to the man as he taught them new forms.

“I can’t believe it,” she cried. “He got them under control.”

“No.”

Komari turned in disbelief towards Gang Orca.

“He taught them discipline,” he corrected. Nezu was right, the former vigilante would be a great teacher.

Chapter 19: Taka the butler

Chapter Text

  • Taka is Momo’s family butler, and has been with her since she was born. Momo considers him a third parent.
  • Taka has always noticed that Momo had been a shy, and low confident girl; like a shrinking violet.
  • Eventually, Taka started noticing a change in Momo: becoming more open and confident. At first Taka had no idea where this came from but chalked it up to her teen quirkless support group.
  • That is until one night he catches her sneaking into the house in her vigilante costume, but Momo doesn’t see him. Taka concludes that the changes happened when the vigilante group Outcast showed up.
  • Taka wants Momo to stop so she doesn’t put herself in more danger. As he is working up his case and contemplating going to her parents, he realizes something: Momo has grown into a more confident person and has been more open to others in school and at home.
  • Taka used to be worried about Momo always being in her shell, but now she has grown into a strong woman and he couldn’t be more proud.
  • Seeing her transformation Taka decides not to stop her, but step in when he needs to.
  • Taka heads to the cafe during closing. He reveals to the Outcast and Isamu that he knows but will not tell. They are obviously worried, but Taka explains his reason that this vigilantism has helped Momo grow and he will not stop that.
  • When Momo asks what he will do when her parents find out that he knew and didn’t say anything, Taka assures her that he will deal with the consequences as they are his own doing, but ultimately will support her.
  • Taka then bows to Isamu, and tells him to take care of Momo. Isamu accepts.
  • Isamu then puts the fear of god in the others, to be more careful when coming home on patrol so as to not get caught by relatives.
    • The Outcast fearfully promised to.

Chapter 20: New Suit

Chapter Text

“Isn’t it amazing!?” Hagakure shouted in glee as she showed off her new hero costume. It was a simple bodysuit with the upper torso white and the legs a pale lavender purple. On her wrist was a control button. When she pressed it, Hagakure turned completely invisible. Class 1-A stood in awe, except Bakugo to scoffed. “Midoriya made it for me.”

Izuku looked down sheepishly. “Well I just thought it wasn’t fair that you only had gloves and shoes … plus walking around completely naked,” he muttered the last part hoping nobody noticed. “I was able to make a sturdy material that disappears when you need it to.”

Sero walked up to Izuku. “Can you look at my costume?” he asked

“Mine too!” Ochako said eagerly.

Izuku soon found himself surrounded by his classmates asking for improvements on their suits. The poor boy started to get overwhelmed as he tried to calm everyone down. Bakugo scoffed at Izuku's newfound popularity and walked away. Aizawa just stood to the side, watching the whole scene. He hoped Nezu was right about this being a good idea.

Chapter 21: Son of Stain

Chapter Text

  • Chiaki is Stain’s 15 year old estranged son. Chiaki knows who his dad is and what he has done, so distances himself from him as much as possible.
    • Chiaki has short black hair and red eyes
  • Stain left Chiaki to be raised by Chiaki’s mother, while he pursued ‘justice’ or at least his version of it.
  • Chiaki can control his own blood as well as others, but doesn’t use it.
    • Quirk: Blood control - Allows users to manipulate their own or others blood.
      • Can control people like a puppet
      • Make blood constructs
      • Quicken healing process
  • Expert hacker and hacked into several places.
    • His mom knows that he hacked into his school system and messed with the websites.
  • Chiaki’s mother, a friend of Isamu, asked Isamu to step in to help before the boy gets arrested.
  • Isamu asked Nezu to place Chiaki in the general studies division of U.A.
  • Isamu also gave the Outcasts a heads-up on who Chiaki is and not to be mean to the kid because of who his dad is.
    • Tenya is a bit wary around him, but warms up to Chiaki
  • Chiaki has a pretty chill time at school, until during lunch when eating with the Outcasts, Monoma reveals that Chiaki is the son of the Hero killer, Stain. As a result, Chiaki stops going to school for days.
  • Vlad King then comes to visit him and convinces him to return to school. He doesn’t have to be a hero to make up for what his dad did, but at least make a good life.
    • Vlad Kings knows the stigma of having a blood quirk
    • He also apologizes for not keep his students in check
  • Chiaki then returns to school and despite the rumors and glares from people he persists. The Outcasts, especially Tenya, are happy for him.

Chapter Text

  • Monoma
    • Antagonizes class 1-a, and now the Outcasts when they get admitted to the hero course.
    • Constantly calls the Outcasts villains in reform and but heads with Eijirou a lot.
    • Finally goes too far when his comments cause Chiaki, Stain’s estranged son, to not show up to school for days.
      • Shinsou hypnotized Monoma and made Monoma drop his pants down in front of everyone.
    • Vlad finally steps in and punishes the boy. Nobody knows what he did, but it was enough that Monoma just keeps his distance and solely praises class 1-b.
  • Bakugo
    • Furious that Izuku got into the hero course AND was an illegal vigilante. He used to torment this kid for not having a quirk and now he is in the hero course.
    • Even more furious that other quirkless kids are in the pro-hero course
    • Is dismissive of Isamu, calling him a washed up vigilante, but later suffers a humiliating defeat from him in a sparring match.
    • Later picks Isamu to do a work study under as he realizes the man’s intelligence and skill
  • Naomasa
    • Not too fond of the Outcasts, since the last vigilante incident (Crawler and Pop step)
    • Wants them to be captured
    • Is shocked to discover that they are just teenagers
    • Eventually agrees with Nezu to let them go to UA
  • Tsuyu
    • Is a bit curious about the Outcasts when they join class
    • Gets along well with them, until she casually states that vigilantes still act outside the law, so they are villains
      • She didn’t know that they heard her say that. Ends up feeling terrible about it and apologizes
  • All Might
    • Is a teacher at UA to find his successor. Nighteye offered Mirio but All Might refused, stating that the boy lacked something.
    • When Izuku enters UA, All Might finds what he is looking for and offers to let Izuku become his successor.
      • Izuku refuses at first, not needing a quirk, but with All Might weakened and villains on the rise he accepts.
    • All Might agrees to Isamu’s terms that Izuku shouldn’t use All For One, until he masters it, or in an extreme situation.
  • Aizawa
    • Closets pro-hero ally to the Outcasts.
    • He deduces that now the vigilantes have quirks so he keeps vigilance on them when he can.
    • Figured the connection between them, Isamu and the teenaged staff at the cafe.
    • May have exposed their identities.
    • Calls him his problem children.

Chapter Text

League of Villains

  • Still very much a present threat in the story. They don’t do the USJ attack, but become known after the Stain incident.
  • Are aware of the vigilante group, Outcasts. Isamu made it clear to the teens not to engage in battle with them, since these people are no joke.
  • Unfortunately, the Outcasts had a few run-ins with them, getting on All-for-one’s radar.
  • When the League of Villains attacks the U.A. training camp they also snatched Denki on his way home from the  cafe.
    • Denki was on a call with Izuku when it happened, so Izuku heard everything including who took him.
  • Isamu tells the team not to go after Denki and let the heroes handle it, as this is way too dangerous.
  • They don’t listen. Donning disguises, they go rescue Denki and Bakugo and are successful. They also cheer on All Might in his fight against All-for-one.
    • Isamu’s cafe is destroyed in the fight.
  • While Denki is captured, Shigaraki tries to entice him with the opportunity of gaining a quirk from his master. No longer will Denki be looked down upon for not having a quirk.
  • Bakugo dissuades him, telling Denki to ‘not slum up with these losers.’

Denki: LIKE I’D JOIN THEM AFTER THAT ONE (Gestures to Himiko) TRIED TO STAB ME!!!

  • Unfortunately, Aizawa spots them during the rescue mission. At this point, Aizawa has made the connection between the Outcasts and the kids at the cafe. Fearing for their safety from the League of Villains, as well as the incident with Crawler, Aizawa lets Naomasa know the connection and lets him take it from there.
  • Days later, the kids and Isamu are taken to the station where they meet Nezu, Aizawa and Naomasa, who is surprised that the vigilante’s are just teenagers.
  • After much deliberation, Nezu is able to get them into U.A. as students and Isamu and Shubo as teaching staff. Nezu realizes that after the fight with All-for-one, All Might is weakened. Villains will take this as a chance to rise up. The Outcasts and Isamu have proven that they are more than capable of handling villains, so why not. Good use of their talents.
  • Naomasa reluctantly agrees as long as they are supervised. Aizawa feels another headache coming on.
  • League of Villains is still a pain in the ass, that gets only bigger.
