It was the most important puyo battle of the… minute? It was the most important battle to Amitie right now because it was the one currently happening and every puyo battle was important to her. Especially ones where she was winning.
With one last cast of Fairy Fire, she brought the match to its end, sending the wall of puyo collapsing onto her unlucky opponent. Her feeling of victory was short lived, however, as something cold and scaly poked her shoulder and she shrieked. But a second later, the registration of being intimately familiar with that touch passed through her blitzing brain and she turned around with a large smile already on her face. A smile she saved only for her boyfriend. “Sig! What’re you up to?”
“I ‘unno. Was passing by.” He scratched the back of his head and Amitie patiently waited for him to process his next thoughts. “Wanna get lunch?”
“Sure!”
And, with that decided, the two traversed the wrecked Primp Town to find a place to eat. But, strangely, Sig found himself to be the one leading. Strange, considering Amitie was always the one taking charge. As he was about to turn around and ask if something was wrong, something small and soft poked his cheek. It was Amitie poking him, of course.
Weird, but not unexpected from Amitie. She was a very touchy-feely person. Frequently hugging him from behind or intertwining her fingers in his to lead him on another adventure. He himself preferred to be hands-off with others as much as possible. But being close to the eternal warmth of his girlfriends? That was an exception.
The two continued on, the incident behind them. And then Amitie poked him again. They ventured forth and Amitie struck once more. By the fifth time, it was getting hard to ignore and Sig just had to ask.
“Ehehe,” Amitie muttered guiltily. “Well, I just kinda freaked out earlier when you surprised me and I wanted to do the same to you.”
“Oh. I’m not surprised if I know you’re there.” That thought wound through his head until he came to a conclusion and closed his eyes. “I closed my eyes. Surprise me.”
Well now an entirely new problem arose. Sure, Amitie could wait and put him on edge for the poke… but then he’d be too lost in his thoughts to have it even register. But if she did it too soon, he’d be expecting it. There’s no surprise there! She had to think outside the box. She had to do something he wouldn’t even think she’d do.
Then, the thought flashed through her mind and she knew she couldn’t even let herself think before she did it or she might stop herself.
Standing on the tips of her toes, she grabbed Sig by the shoulders and leaned into him, pressing her lips to his. It was only for a second before Sig’s eyes shot open in surprise and he separated, so shocked his breath left his body and he needed air.
“Gotcha, didn’t I?” Amitie said. But then Sig didn’t respond.
Oh no. She knew Sig wasn’t a fan of being touched, but she thought he was okay enough with her-- Had she crossed a line? She looked to him, praying to whatever goddess watched over Primp that he would forgive her.
She found Sig blushing. Red spread over his usually pale face and he looked away, either embarrassed or shy, two things she had never known him to be.
“Yeah,” he said, voice slightly higher than its usually low monotone. “You got me.”
