Jungkook is sulking. He decided to do so 10 minutes ago, having waited 40 minutes for Namjoon to return home. He said he’d be back from the studio by 9pm, and it is currently 09:53pm. Jungkook huffs, crossing his arms where he’s sat in the middle of the sofa. It’s so not fair. He was looking forward to lots of cuddles, and maybe even playing Mario Kart together.
Instead, he’s on his own, bundled in his big dumb boyfriend’s hoodie, because his big dumb boyfriend isn’t here. Jungkook buries his nose into the fabric because gosh darnit he misses him! It’s as he’s contemplating whether he should just go to bed (where it smells even more like Namjoon) that he hears the door to their apartment creak open.
“Hi bun, I’m so sorry I got caught up at work and I just lost track of time”
And whilst Jungkook would love to run to him and give him a big hug, he has already decided that he is mad and he is sulking. So instead, he simply huffs once more, subconsciously pushing his bottom lip out into a pout. After a few too many seconds of silence, Namjoon turns from where he’s hanging his coat up, eyebrows furrowed in confusion.
“Baby? Are you okay?”
Jungkook sighs loudly, and the older seems to finally realise that his lover is mad.
Whilst Jungkook firmly avoids any eye contact, Namjoon can’t help but smile a little. The younger does this sometimes, when he’s feeling a little needier and not getting the affection he wants. If he didn’t know his boyfriend so well, Namjoon would be more concerned, but he had the perfect remedy for his bunny’s sulking.
He kneels down slowly in front of Jungkook, so that they’re at the same height due to the younger’s position on the sofa.
“Baby,”
He kisses Jungkook’s nose.
“I’m so sorry that I was late home tonight,”
Then his cheek.
“I should have paid more attention to the time.”
Then his other cheek.
“I’ll do whatever I can to make it up to you, okay?”
Jungkook finally makes eye contact with him.
“Mario Kart tomorrow?”
They’re the first words his boyfriend has spoken to him since he got home, and Namjoon couldn’t be more relieved that Jungkook doesn’t seem too upset.
“Yes, of course we can play Mario Kart tomorrow. We can do anything you want.”
Namjoon starts to smile, until Jungkook frowns and says “I’m still mad”
His smile starts to fall of his face, until his boyfriend adds “and my madness can only be fixed by hugs and kisses.”
Now Namjoon is grinning as he leans in to kiss him once on his forehead, then on his nose, and then barrages him with kisses all over his face, making Jungkook burst into a fit of giggles.
“Stop, stop!” He finally manages to get out, and Namjoon is glad to see a complete absence of pouting or frowning. He stands up and scoops his boyfriend into a bridal carry, making him break out into another fit of giggles as they make their way to their bedroom.
Once they’re in bed, Jungkook hooks his leg over Namjoon’s, head resting on his chest, and the oldest strokes his face, placing one last kiss on his forehead before they both drift to sleep.
