“Lynette…” he muttered. She brushed his hair away from his face. She could see his wounds now, a big cut above his right eye, and some scratches on his cheeks.
“Lyney,” she whispered back. His tears were flowing faster now, to her shock. Quickly, she wiped them away with her sleeve as fast as she could, but she couldn’t keep up with his crying speed.
As they sat there in the quiet night in Fontaine, she found that her eyes were wet as well. She buried her face into her brother’s hair, and they stayed like that for a while.
