Chapter Text
Inside a white palace, sat a being dressed in white. Her form shifted as she watched a floating window. The window showed a tsunami made of yellow spiders being led by a dragon and a squirrel. She was amused as she heard evil laughter from the other side. As she watched, she would often look up as if questioning something or someone. She watched curiously as the humans laughed only to see one of them run to another room
Suddenly a new window appeared before her. This new window showed a young boy sleeping. As she examined the window, an incorporeal being materialized before her and quickly knelt down. She looked at him before stretching her arm before her. The being quickly changed its appearance to a parrot and perched on her arm.
She looked at the parrot and gave them a soft smile. The parrot gawked before speaking, "Mother! The missing soul has been found!" As soon as the parrot spoke, 'Mother's' form solidified into a woman without a face. 'Mother' looked at the screen that suddenly appeared and asked, "Has the soul been reincarnated?" The parrot tilted their head to the side before excitedly answering "That's right! A strange force is protecting the soul from us!"
'Mother' sighed before looking up wondering who would be next in this game of chess. She then began to laugh, causing the parrot to lose balance and fall. She looked at the parrot amused before she kept paying attention to the windows.
Before leaving, the parrot knelt before her and disappeared. 'Mother' watched as her 'child' left and began to spin the windows. She stopped one of the windows and reached towards it. As she reached, she made a grabbing motion towards one of the spiders and 'took it'. She watched as the spider looked around the room before looking at her and became horrified. Eventually, the spider became sluggish and stopped moving. Soon 'Mother lost interest and teleported the joltik to one of the stands nearby.
'Mother" then looked at the second screen with a conflicted expression. She worried for her late friend who always worried for others instead of himself. If only he had chosen to stay, then he would be able to see the others. Instead, he had ended up being entertainment. She smiled knowing a certain someone had created an interesting game. She could only hope she wasn't part of it.
'Mother' looked around before focusing on something. She began to laugh before she spoke, "Oh my. If I'd known I was being observed, I would have given you all a show." She materialized a white fan and covered her nonexistent mouth. "I do wonder. Will you become another chess piece? or will you become a bystander? Maybe you won't even know you are involved until it is too late..." As soon as she finished, she made a motion with her hands and everything went black.
