‘Now is the time. I can do this, I can do this, just say the words: I love you Saiki!’
He heard her thoughts as she approached him in the park. ‘Good grief. How do I get out of this? I can’t teleport because she can see me. Maybe she just won’t confess, and even if she does I’ll just erase her memory.’ He pretended not to notice her as he walked the other way, however, he was escaping at walking speed, and she was on a full sprint. She would catch him, and it would be too late.
Suddenly, as she neared, he felt something happen to his body. Was this some new ability? Were his powers growing? He stiffened up, his legs weakened, his heart began to race. No, it wasn’t his power, it was her’s. He felt her hand catch his and stop him completely. It was all over now (until he would rewind time to stop himself from coming here.)
“Saiki, I…” Teruhashi began, as he turned around and looked to her face which appeared beautiful, for a split second until he saw through it with X-ray vision and she was just a hairless meat person again. Damn. At least he still had the memory of the day he was finally without his psychic powers, the day he could finally see her true beauty…
He regretted it back then, but now, he was grateful that he stared at her so long that her face blushed deep blood red. It was a welcome image seared into his memory. He could recall the memory and imagine that blood red, beautiful face over top of her bloody meaty face muscles and everything would seem normal again. She was almost perfect, if only he could also use a ring that stopped x-ray vision much like his telepathy dampener.
Oh, damn, he was staring at her again, and she hadn’t said a word in a solid 3 minutes. There was that blush again.
He decided to break the silence. He opened his mouth to speak, but she was faster once again.
“Saiki, I’ve come to tell you something that’s very important to me, and it’s okay if you say nothing, just listen, and I’ll leave you alone because I know that’s what you want.” She smiled, but for some reason, his chest felt heavy. She was right, he did want to be left alone, but why did it feel like that was so wrong, and that he needed to fix it? He continued to listen, he relaxed a little, not because he was more comfortable, but because he was more, what was it… sad?
“Saiki I love you!” There it was. It exploded out of her like an unexpected but totally expected but still somehow a surprise bomb. Now was the time to rewind it… but he didn’t. Somehow, it felt like rewinding this moment would be like desecrating a sacred shrine… he couldn’t. He just couldn’t.
So now what?
“I know.” He replied, not having put his words through the stupidity filter before saying them. I know ?! Now was not the time to quote Star Wars! Damn it, his nervousness was at an all time high.
“You know?!?” She gasped, throwing her hands over her mouth. Blushing furiously. She drew away her hands. “How did you know?” She gasped again. “Are you psychic?!”
Crap. How did she figure it out so quickly?! No matter, he would just have to deploy the old faithful tactic of looking utterly and hopelessly confused. “Huh????” Maybe that would throw her off the trail.
“Never mind.” She looked away from his face. His nervousness dropped by 80% the moment her eyes were no longer meeting his, until he imagined her face when it wasn’t see-through again. ‘That girl just confessed to me!’ All sorts of feelings and desires welled up in his body, not the least of which was his desire to hold her, just then.
And that was when his feelings wrested control of his body away from him, and he took her in his arms, in a close, loving embrace. He could feel the warmth of her hair on his face, and her soft, perfect pretty girl body relaxing into his mostly normal cool guy body.
“S-Saiki?” She said softly into his neck, as the world disappeared into white around them. He heard her thoughts, her hopes, her own desires, one which stood out more than all others: she hoped he would return her feelings. Not because she wanted to add every man she knew to her list of ‘dudes that fell for her’, no, it was not like before. Now her feelings were true, pure, perfect. She truly loved him for who he was, for his grumpy face, his normal looking features, for always being true to himself, everything.
The only thing he could do in this situation was what he wanted. He whispered into her ear with warm, soft breath. “I love you too.” He suddenly felt her body tense up, and her thoughts went quiet. Oh no did she die?! Do people die from love confessions?! He quickly released the embrace and held her shoulders to look her in the face. “Teruhashi are you okay?!” His concern was extremely apparent, it was the most emotion he had ever displayed to her in the entire time they’ve known each other.
That made her cry.
Not tears of sadness, but pure light-touched tears of joy and love. “I’m so … happy.” She smiled, giggled, and sniffled all in the same moment.
Just then he was overwhelmed with a desire, but, he read the same desire coming from her mind, it was so strong, it was consuming him, it made him feel as though he was under her thrall, but he knew his mind and his desires were his, he always knew. He dipped down towards her lips, and she knew what it meant immediately.
‘I’m going to kiss Saiki!!!! YeEEEEEEEEESSSSSS.’ Her mind suddenly yelled aloud, ruining the tenderness of the moment, no matter, he would just have to get her brain back on track.
“May I…?” He asked in the softest, most tender voice he could manage. It stopped her brain dead in it’s tracks.
“Please.” After that, all he could hear was a high pitched and delighted ‘eeeeeeee ’ coming from her mind until at last, their lips touched, and all melted to calm, silence, warmth, and perfection.
