Spiders

Summary:

Katsuki is the strongest person Izuku knows. He can take pratically anything and keep on punching, like the tank he is. It's one of the things Izuku admires about him. However, that doesn't mean Katsuki doesn't expierence pain. The rare times he does, Izuku is by his side instantly.

Hence, the moment he heard that scream, he smashed through the door.

Notes:

This is silly. This is for sillies and giggles. Yet another IRL situation I brought to life through my favorite boys! I also thought it was perfect alongside Moths so I bring you Spiders. Please, giggle, laugh, cry, and enjoy.

Work Text:

The day had been incredibly taxing on Izuku. Between saving civilians, arresting villains, and catching a building (don’t ask), his body and quirk were at the absolute limit. Everything was sore and hurting and he was just done. All he wanted to do was strip and collapse in bed. Maybe in a bathtub too. Being clean also sounded really nice. A glance at his visible skin (from all the tears in his expensive hero costume) had him grimacing from the grime. Yeah, he was filthy. Izuku wasn’t sure how anyone was coming near him without a full body suit honestly.

Without much thought, Izuku stomped his way through the agency into his private office. Perk of having your own agency: Privacy. It was so nice to be able to lock the door and just wallow in his own pain and suffering for a few moments. Granted he is a people-pleaser at heart so the lock was rarely ever engaged but it's the thought that counts, right? He groaned as he sank into the sofa, a throw pillow cushioning his head’s impact. Briefly, Izuku wondered how hard someone would have to be hit with a pillow to knock themselves out.

The ache in his shoulders and back won out against any plausible testing. Cause really, if anyone can do it, it’s him with One-For-All. Ain’t no reason his super strength can’t knock someone out with a pillow. Enough force with strong enough fabric and boom, soft squishy K.O. Izuku shook his head, trying to focus again. Why was he thinking about knocking someone out with a pillow? What did that have to do with anything?

Unfortunately, he didn’t have ADHD for nothing. His hands slowly worked pieces of his hero suit off as he pondered the possibilities. Certain questions coming up like who could withstand the testing? What would the damage be to the pillow? To the person? Was there a possibility of a broken nose? Fractured skull? Could it kill someone? Would the pillow need to be made of special steel-based fibers? If it’s using metal-reinforced fabric is it still really a pillow? Would it be comfortable? Is it a solution to Eijirou’s pillow destruction habits? Eijirou goes through a lot of pillows, this would be a great invention if it worked. How would processing work? Who would fund the testing?

The thoughts kept piling up until a shrill scream threw Izuku in overdrive. He knew that scream. It was rare he ever heard it, sending all his hair on edge as his adrenaline was flooding his system. With the assistance of One-For-All, Izuku bolted from his office to the one on the other side of the hallway. The door was smashed with a simple kick and Izuku threw himself into the room. He landed in a perfect crouch in perfect position to throw a Detroit Smash. Green eyes scanned the room for any threat only to come up… empty?

“‘ZUKU!” The shriek startled him, prompting the hero to shoot straight up and twist to his left. The scene had Izuku questioning his sanity for a moment until he realized it was very real. His palm met his forehead in an exasperated face-palm. If he hadn’t hated his day before, he certainly did now.

“Kacchan,” Izuku crossed his arms and shot his blonde boyfriend the sternest glare he could. This was ridiculous. There was no reason for Katsuki to be acting this way. Katsuki was cowering on top of his desk, curling up like a cat with one ungloved hand pointed at his little coffee table currently littered with papers. Izuku growled under his breath and prowled closer to the table to identify the “threat” currently disabling his boyfriend. He swore under his breath. “Kacchan, what the fuck?!”

“GET IT!” Katsuki screeched. When the offending thing twitched, Katsuki let out a shrill squeak and curled tighter on the desk. “Zukuuuuu please, please, please get it!” Izuku sighed, tilting his head back to the heavens in the stereotypical “Why me?” fashion.

This was something that they had been working on since they started dating, really. Much like Izuku’s fear of moths (which he was mostly over, okay?! He just can’t touch them. Or see them fly. Or let them near him. But they can exist!) Katsuki also had a fear. A very particular fear that left Izuku little choice but to deal with it head on. He wasn’t really sure where this fear even started from. He knew when the fear got exponentially worse, but not the origins. He could still remember being four years old and prowling the forest for any signs of an insect. Katsuki was always the brave one, grabbing at every bug in sight without a care in the world.

“Kacchan,” Izuku stomped closer to the table, grabbing a tissue. “You are a grown. Ass. Man,” The greenette practically snarled, viciously slamming the tissue against the top of the table. “It’s a goddamn spider. A spider, Kacchan,” He lifted the tissue to reveal his victory prize: Smushed spider. “This is ridiculous,”

“No it’s not!” Katsuki whined. “They are terrifying! They get in my bracers and in my hair when I’m in the alley! They can be poisonous! They are dangerous!” Izuku turned an irritated gaze onto his partner.

“Kacchan, it was a damn movie!” Izuku snapped. He knew he shouldn’t have let the Bakusquad take Katsuki to see that movie. Katsuki’s antics had only gotten worse after that.

“So? It was a radioactive spider! It gave the guy damn spider powers! That’s legit enough for me to be scared!”

“Kacchan! We are twenty-three years old living in a damn world of super heroes!”

“AND?!”

Needless to say, Izuku and Katsuki continue to have the spider argument every time a spider is within Katsuki’s sight. Izuku could only pray when they showed up at Hanta and Shouto’s a few months later and were greeted with a Spider-Man themed party.
