1 INT. ANTIQUE STORE - AFTERNOON
ISAAC puts a book into a bookshelf. He’s tall and well-dressed. Typically masculine, with a slight hipster aesthetic that is akin to if a Twin Cities 2010s hipster listened to David Bowie and Motley Crue.
ELAINE starts to fidget with her hands. She wears an engagement ring and wedding band on her left hand. She is short and extravagantly feminine. She has a tote bag on her right shoulder. She is standing near a black cardigan, embroidered with violets and white lilies.
She looks forward with surprise and wonder.
ISAAC doesn’t notice her. The two are standing in an antique store, filled with books, jewelry, taxidermy, globes, and various knicknacks. They are about 6 feet apart.
ELAINE fidgets with her engagement ring.
ISAAC notices her, she is looking down.
ELAINE is focused on a white line on the old wooden floors, acknowledging a separation between rooms in the store.
ELAINE looks back up to him. They share a long look. A title card reads: “line.”
CUT TO:
2 EXT. FLOWER SHOP - AFTERNOON
The shop is large and appears as though Lady Bird and Labyrinth started a flower shop together. A young Elaine is surrounded by various ivies, admiring.
ISLA walks forward, with both slight anxiety and strong purpose. She is 16-years-old, dressed in a modern 80s style, she has soft features. She is holding a potted pansy plant.
A 17-year-old Elaine notices her coming toward her. She is puzzled, yet hopeful for a potential friendship.
Isla reaches her and offers the pansy.
ISLA
Isaac said you like pansies.
YOUNG ELAINE
I do. Thank you.
Elaine goes to grab the potted plant, the girls fingers graze each other.
