Work Text:

The wedding planning was driving Stiles up the wall. Between choosing flower arrangements, tasting cakes, and making sure the pack didn’t accidentally reveal their supernatural nature to the caterers, he was swamped. The stress had culminated in a relentless headache, a pounding rhythm behind his eyes that made it hard to think.

Peter, ever the observant fiancé, had noticed Stiles’ discomfort the moment he walked into their shared living space. “You look like you’re about to keel over,” he commented, his eyes narrowing with concern.

Stiles sighed, rubbing his temples. “I feel like it too. This headache is killing me.”

“May I?” Peter offered, extending his hand in a silent offer to take away the pain.

Stiles didn’t need to be asked twice. He eagerly took Peter’s hand, anticipating not just the relief, but also the chance to witness a phenomenon that had always fascinated him—the appearance of black veins on Peter’s arm as he absorbed the pain.

As their hands connected, Stiles felt the immediate rush of relief flood his system. His headache dissipated, replaced by a warm, tingling sensation. But what truly captivated him were the dark, inky veins that snaked their way up Peter’s forearm, a visual representation of the pain being siphoned away.

“I never get tired of seeing that,” Stiles said, his eyes glued to Peter’s arm.

Peter chuckled. “Most people find it unsettling, but you’ve always had a knack for seeing beauty in the unusual.”

Stiles looked up, locking eyes with Peter. “It’s not just about how it looks. It’s what it represents—your ability to take away pain, to offer relief. It’s like a physical manifestation of what you do for me emotionally.”

Peter’s eyes softened, and he pulled Stiles into a gentle kiss. “And you have no idea how much it means to me to be able to do that for you.”

As they broke the kiss, Stiles once again traced the now-fading black lines on Peter’s arm, a small but meaningful gesture that spoke volumes about their relationship.

“Every time I see these veins, I’m reminded of how deeply connected we are,” Stiles said softly. “It’s like a visual affirmation of our bond, and that’s something I’ll never stop being fascinated by.”

Peter smiled, his eyes filled with love and a touch of awe. “And as long as I live, I’ll never stop wanting to be the one who can take away your pain.”

Stiles felt his eyes moisten at the heartfelt declaration. “And I’ll never stop being grateful that you can.”
