Fell Falls

Summary:

Punchable Fell Falls HARD!

Chapter 1: Fell

Summary:

The beginning... Fell POV

Chapter Text

Fell-

“It’s completely asinine. Why do we need a liaison? The fae have spent their whole lives without one.” I grouched. There were so many changes happening in the Fae Courts and this is another one of Leila’s stupid ideas. Things had been fine until this annoying half-blood started changing everything.

“That is exactly why we need it. Humans, and yes even the other courts and supernaturals need to work more closely together. When we work together things improve for everyone.” Leila’s purple eyes glowed, which was an indication that this was going to happen with or without my approval. The glare of her consort, I mean King Rigel, made me stop resisting. I didn’t really want to tick off the Wraith.

“Cretin. What is with your unholy love of human things.” I sneered.

“I am half human, so I grew up differently, Fell... And as Empress of all Fae, this is happening. So however grouchy you’re going to be about it, get on board. I have the list for all the Court’s in the Midwest, plus all the winter courts. Rime can you share with your siblings? That would be one less on my never ending to do list.” The winter queen nodded.

“How did you find all these people?”

“How did you decide which person to have with which court?”

“How exactly are they being paid?”

“They’re all people who have responded to an ad. After intensive interviews, background checks, and personality checks, I have decided which person will be most beneficial for each court. And each court must pay this person’s salary out of their own funds.” An odd noise came from Leila, which in the past had indicated amusement. I’m sure she was thrilled to have pushed any kind of funding to each court, since the Night Court was widely known for being short of funds.

“That is rather dictatorial.” I grumbled.

“You have something to share with the class, Fell? I’ve told you before you are a terrible mumbler.”

I turned to glare, but caught sight of Rigel’s dark expressionless face and instead frowned. I hated everything to do with the Night Court. I couldn’t deny she had managed to pull her court out of spiraling destruction, but I worked my whole time as king to try to bring my court to the top spot, and had finally achieved it, and she had come and ruined it all within months... MONTHS of being Queen. With her purple eyes and charming smile (well charming for everyone except myself, for me it was more of a barracuda smile) she’d swept in and became Fae Empress. There hadn’t been an Empress in decades! And now there was a half-fae as the Empress of the Fae.

She continued without a response from me. Which worked because I didn’t have a response. This whole thing was insane. But it was looking like I didn’t have a choice.

“They will start next week. I have noted whether your liaison is in need of housing accommodations, and so that will give you time to arrange that as well as their salary. Go team!”

“What team?” I asked, confused why she would think we were any kind of a team.

“Wildcats!” We all turned to stare at Leila.

“Right, you wouldn’t understand that reference. Let me know if you run into any major issues... MAJOR issues, Fell. I don’t want you to just complain to me. This is happening, and if you don’t follow what the liaison says, whether they be suggestions or wishes, I will send Rigel to straighten you out.”

With a glare to myself she stood, gathered her papers, and left the meeting room, her entourage following closing. We all sat, me slightly stunned to have been called out, the others seemed to be looking at the sheaf of papers Leila handed out.  This was going to be a disaster.
