“You’ve been miserable?” he chokes out as Sirius’s mouth reaches the gash on his hip. “I’ve been...” He’s been combusting on repeat for the better part of three years, relishing the burn until it consumes him, leaving him to wearily dust off the ash only for it to start all over again.
