Chapter 1: Spring is Here! Cure Lotus Has Bloomed!

Chapter Text

In the grand fields of the Hanataba Kingdom, there was a queen who ruled by herself named Queen Hibiscus. She had beautiful, long, bright red and orange gradient hair while wearing a ball gown dress wrapped in colorful Hibiscus flowers.

Many of the fairies who serve under her tend to the Royal Gardens, which is the core of the kingdom and its tranquility. However, the real power lies in the castle’s cellar: the Royal Flower Crowns.

“Your Majesty! Your Majesty!” A bumblebee fairy cried, bursting into the queen’s quarters.

“What? What is it, Maru?” The queen asked in surprise.

“The Royal Flower Crowns! They’re glowing! This has never happened before!”

“Lead the way.” She grabs her large magic staff and heads down to the cellar.

As they reached the location, there were the crowns, locked behind glass boxes. “Look, Your Majesty!”

Queen Hibiscus looks around her to see all of the crowns glowing. “Oh no.”

“What is it, Queen Hibiscus?”

“Maru! Bring in Nalin and the others to me! I need them immediately!”

“Yes, Your Majesty!” She squeaked and headed back up to retrieve five fairies: a yellow squirrel, a white deer, a pink butterfly, a red robin, and a purple bunny.

“What do you request, Your Majesty?” Nalin asked as he and the others bowed. As Nalin looked up, he saw that the crowns surrounding them were glowing. “What the…? Why are they glowing?”

“They’re here.”

“Who is?” The purple bunny asked.

“The Royal Army.”

Maru gasps, “Oh no! Them?

The queen nods. “I’m afraid so. I have no choice but to do this. Back away.” The six fairies do as they're told and the queen’s staff glows brightly. “O, Royal Crowns of the Hanataba Kingdom. Release from your captivity and begone!”

The fairies watch as every glass case of the crowns floats in the air and all of the crowns zoom out of the castle and into the sky until they can’t be seen.

“My Queen!” The robin exclaimed. “What happened? What did you do?!”

“I had to,” she answered solemnly. “Even if I hide them away somewhere else, they will find them, anyway.”

“Who are ‘they’?”

“The king and queen of the Dokunuma Royal Army. For many many years, they’ve wanted my power to take over the kingdom. We have always been victorious, and I can’t let that happen again!” She then sighs to take a pause. “You all need to come with me.” Back upstairs in her bedroom, she opens a small treasure chest in her drawer. Inside were five colored bracelets.

“What are those?” Asked the deer.

“These,” she said as she picked them up. “Are bracelets. Not just ordinary bracelets. They belonged to our kingdom’s greatest warriors: The Precures.”

“Precures?”

She nods, “Yes. I need you five to find the newest generation of warriors.”

“But where can we find them?” Asked the deer.

“Planet Earth.”

“Earth?”

Then, a rumble shook the castle. “You must head there at once! I’m going back down there!”

“But Your Majesty!” Nalin exclaimed. “What if we can’t find the Precures?”

“You will. Now, go!”

Maru looks to Nalin with an affirming nod. “I believe in you all.”

She uses her staff to cast the five fairies into bubbles and out the nearest window. “Maru, guide the others into their homes for safety.”

“What about you?”

“I’ll be okay!” She rushes back down to the cellar with her staff. Then, the wall burst open with a large hole.

“Queen Hibiscus.” Said a deep voice.

She points her staff out. “King Kuraidoku.”

“So wonderful to meet you, Your Majesty.” He bowed, mockingly.

Her grip tightened. “Leave this place at once.”

“Where are the Flower Crowns?”

“I’m not telling you.”

“Hm.” He sneered. In his hand formed a dark purple energy ball. As it grew, the queen created a golden dome around her. When the ball was released towards her, the queen strained herself in defense, but the barrier broke and sent her flying into the wall.

She quickly stands up and runs to him, swinging her staff. The king easily swipes it away and throws her to the ground.

“Give me the Crowns.” He growled.

“Never!”

“Where are they?!” The queen doesn’t respond. “Huh. Stubborn, I see.” He pulls her closer. “If you don’t give them to me, this entire kingdom will suffer.”

The queen’s eyes widened and her breath hitches. “No. Please!”

“Tell me the location!”

The queen did not respond once again. “What am I going to do? I’m not bowing down that easily! I’m never giving them up!”

“Do you choose to perish?” He chuckled. “How noble.” With the snap of his fingers, Queen Hibiscus then felt a sharp pain in her chest.

She starts to cough violently. “What did you do to me?”

“Poison. Your Majesty,” He said in a mocking tone. “Until you give me the location, you will slowly perish of poison and this kingdom will be under my rule.”

“You’re a monster,” She croaked. “What of my people?”

“They’re poisoned, too. All will suffer.”

“F-Fine!”

“Oh?”

“I’ll give you the location! Please, release me and my kingdom from this curse!”

“Tell me it first.”

After Queen Hibiscus releases a cough, she tells the dark king, “Planet Earth.”

“Thank you, Hibiscus.” He then leaves the broken cellar.

Then, Maru flies in from the stairs. “Your Majesty! They’re all—! Oh no! Your Majesty!” The bee gasped in horror as she saw the large hole in the wall and the queen lying on the floor.

“Maru!” The queen cried.

“My Queen! What happened to you?!”

“The king. He poisoned me,” She then starts to cough violently. “Has he poisoned you, too?”

“I don’t feel anything.”

“Thank goodness.”

“Please. Let me take you to your room.”

“No, I’m okay.” She picks herself up from the floor and walks to her golden staff, but stumbles onto her knees.

“Your Majesty! Please, let me help.”

As they slowly reached her bedroom, the queen lay in her bed. “King Kuraidoku…” Her coughing fit had returned. “I must…”

“Your Majesty,” The bee hummed worryingly. “You must rest. I’ll look after you.”

The queen then closes her eyes and slowly falls asleep. “Nalin, Lila, Winnie, Mallie, Wisty. Please… find the Precures.”

°°°

An alarm clock rang at 7:45 in the morning. A young girl with tangly blonde hair groans and turns her alarm off. She stretches and gets out of bed to do her morning routine.

The girl hums to the music playing on her cell phone as she cleans her face in the bathroom. As she sighed in satisfaction after splashing water on her face, she brightly smiled. “Today’s another spring-tastic day!”

“Namika!” Her mother called from downstairs. “Your breakfast’s ready!”

“Coming!” She heads downstairs to see a small plate with a stack of pancakes topped with syrup and whipped cream.

“I made your lunch, too.”

“Aw, I should’ve woken up earlier.”

“Why?”

“I could’ve made it myself to save you time and you wouldn’t have to feel tired every day!”

“Aw, Mika, you’re too much. Oh, and before you leave, make sure to water the garden. I’ve got a lot to do today.”

“Sure thing! Thanks for the pancakes, mom!” She sits down to eat. After, she cleans up and wash the dishes.

Back upstairs, Namika tied her hair in two pigtails and her school uniform had a white shirt with a light blue sailor-like collar, cuffs, and skirt. However, the bow under the collar was yellow. The knee-high socks she wore were white with a yellow stripe at the top.

When she finishes her final touch-ups, she checks her alarm clock. It was now 8:10. She headed downstairs with her school bag and her wristwatch and put on her shoes to water the garden in the backyard.

In the garden was a water fountain, two wooden benches, and a pond. Near one of the benches was a watering can. Namika takes it and pours water into the planters filled with many flowers and other plants.

When she finished, she headed over to the pond. She gasped in excitement when she saw one of the lotuses just blooming. She takes her cell phone and snaps a quick photo.

Then, Namika heads out the other door with her bag, waving goodbye to her mom. “Just finished the garden! Bye, mom! Have a good day!”

“You too, sweetheart!”

As she walks down the streets of Hanahirano, she checks for the time. “Hm, only 8:15. I could go for a smoothie to wash those pancakes down!”

She heads inside a smoothie shop called ‘Tropical Juices.’ Inside, an older man worked behind the counter with a couple of people working on the smoothies. “Morning, Mr. Yamamoto!”

“Ah, Namika!” He greeted her. “On your way to school, I see? I assume your usual?”

“You know it!”

“So much energy at this time.” He laughed and gave a nod to the employees behind him, who also gave friendly waves to the young high schooler.

When she received her drink, she paid the price and said goodbye on her way out. As she was enjoying her drink, she decided to check her watch and she nearly spat it out. “What?! It’s already 8:25?! Shoot!”

Trying to finish her drink, she had to speed-walk her way while trying not to get a brain freeze.

Meanwhile, Nalin and the other fairies poked their heads out from a tree. “Where do we start?” Lila asked.

“Let's start down this way,” said Wisty as they flew a bit farther out. “But try to be as low as possible. We don’t know this place.”

Nalin looks at the yellow bracelet in his paws and recollects Maru’s words. “I believe in you all.”

“Nalin!” Mallie cried. “Look out!”

“Ah!” He screams and the bracelet flies.

“Ow!” Namika winced. “Ah! I’m so sorry!” She picks up the drink and the lid and puts it in the nearest trash can.

“Where did it go?! Where did it go?!” Nalin cried.

Namika sees a yellow bracelet near the trash can and picks it up. “Are you looking for this?”

“Ah! Thank the flower petals! Thank you!”

“Nalin!” Mallie cried.

“W-Wait.” Namika paused.

Nalin freezes. “Oh, shoot!”

“I-I heard you talk. Am I going crazy? I slept pretty well last night. No, no. I have to be wrong.” She then picks up the squirrel and places him back in the tree. “There you go, little guy.” Then, a distant bell. “Ah! I gotta go! Stay safe, little squirrel!” She then takes off running to Sakuhana High.

“Are you hurt?” Winnie said with a worried tone.

“Nope! I’m okay!”

“Be careful next time, Nalin!” Mallie scolded.

“Sorry.”

“Did anything happen with the bracelet?” Lila asked.

“Mmm, no,” Nalin replied as he examined the bracelet.

“Let’s keep looking.”

“Mommy, look!” A little girl pointed at the tree. “A squirrel!”

Nalin jumps and the group scurries deep into the tree.

°°°

Namika flies through the doors. “Ah! Made it!” She huffed and puffed in exhaustion.

“You’re lucky, Miss Fukushima,” said her history teacher, Mr. Takashima. “Where did you go?”

“Just a smoothie run. Took longer than expected. Won’t happen again, sir.” She bowed in apology and took her seat in the middle row.

As the history class went by, Namika was writing down notes while also sneaking in some doodles. One of them was the lotus she took a picture of from the garden.

She then took a look at the window and saw five figures floating by the window. She squinted her eyes, confused.

“Miss Fukushima? Is everything okay?” Mr. Takashima asked.

“Oh, yeah! Everything’s okay. Thought I saw something fly by the window.” She then looks down at her paper. “Was that… the squirrel from earlier?”

°°°

In a dark swampy lake lay a castle. A young humanoid girl with dark pink hair in a lab coat was looking into a microscope with a pair of tweezers in her hands.

“There we go.” She said.

Another humanoid with blacked-out eyes and red and black armory walks into the laboratory. On his head was a black crown. “Miss Tsutsuji.” Said a male voice.

“Prince Castor, do not bother me right now. I’m almost done.”

“With what?”

“This.” She holds up a small seed.

“A…seed?”

“Watch.” She shoves the black seed into the pot of a beautifully grown sunflower. The seed sinks into the dirt and the flower immediately wilts until it turned black and the petals had fallen off.

“How interesting. What is it?”

“I call them Dark Seeds.”

“Dark Seeds?”

“Why, yes. When you plant those seeds, the plant it possesses will rot away and give off a polluted smell. A perfect way to kill off Earth life and find those Flower Crowns easily.”

Then, an angry young female voice stomped inside. “Tsutsuji!” It was another humanoid girl, but at about Castor’s height.

She also had blacked-out eyes like Castor. Her long, dark red dress draped to her ankles and was wrapped with poison ivy. Her tiara on her head was black with more poison ivy wrapping around her head.

“What did I tell you about touching my things without my permission?!”

“It was for my invention, Princess Ivy. It’s very important.”

“What’s so ‘important’ about your invention?”

She chuckles, “It’s about our plan to retrieve those Flower Crowns.”

Her attitude quickly dies down. “The Crowns, you say?”

“Why, yes. These seeds I just made will be plenty of help.”

“Show us, Miss Tsutsuji.” The queen and king stepped in.

Castor and Ivy bowed while Tsutsuji took one knee. “King Kuraidoku, Queen Belladonna. Your Majesties.”

“You may stand.” Said the queen. Her long, dark red dress flared out at the feet with large black orbs that wrapped around it from the waist down.

“Look at this.” She shows the two rulers the dead sunflower. “I used my Dark Seeds to kill this little flower here.”

“She says she made them to help us with finding the Royal Flower Crowns.” Castor added.

“How interesting.” Said Queen Belladonna.

The inventor then puts many of the small seed packets into crossbody bags. “My Prince and My Princess, these belong to you.”

“Thank you.” Said the prince while the princess snatches it out of her hands.

“However, to plant the seed, you must say these words: ‘O, Dark Seed, plant thyself into the surface and rise. Let your growth pollute and poison this land!’”

“Prince Castor, I shall send you out first,” said King Kuraidoku. “Test them out.”

“Yes, Your Majesty.” He bows and disappears.

During the lunch period, Namika sat at the bench in the garden the school had. As she was eating her lunch, she took out her cell phone to look at the lotus picture. “Ah! So pretty!”

“Hello, Namika.” A girl said.

She looks up at her phone to see a girl with white hair walking to her. “Ah! Vice President Yuri! How are you?”

“Doing well. Thank you.”

“No meetings today?”

“No, thankfully.” She sighed.

“Have a seat! Look at this picture I took!”

She sits down next to her. “What is it?”

This lotus just grew in my house’s garden this morning before I left! Isn’t it beautiful?”

Yuri’s eyes sparkled. “It’s amazing! It’s even yellow like your hair. What a coincidence.”

“That means it’s going to be a spring-tastic day today! Yellow lotuses symbolize joy and good luck.”

“Are you sure you don’t want to join the gardening club, Namika? You seem to have a great knowledge of flowers.”

“Sorry, but no. Clubs aren’t interesting to me.”

“Are you planning to become a botanist in your future?”

“Well,” Namika thought as she kicked her legs. “Maybe. My mom is one.”

“That sounds great!”

In one of the bushes in the garden was Nalin and the other fairies. “And why are we here, Nalin?” Wisty asked. “This better not be another one of your dumb plans.”

“Trust me,” the squirrel said with confidence. “This time, it’ll work. I’ll wait until she’s by herself.”

“Well, I better get going,” said Yuri. “Have to make my rounds.”

“Okay! Bye!” She waved as Yuri got up and left the garden.

“Alright! Wish me luck!” Nalin exclaimed and ran out of the bush.

As Namika finishes up the last of her rice, she wraps the box in the yellow cloth. “Oh, you’re the squirrel from earlier! Hey, little guy!”

Nalin froze before he could speak. “Oh no! What should I say?!”

“What are you holding there? May I see it?”

Nalin looks at the bracelet in his paws and then up to the blonde. He raises his paws up.

Wisty’s nose twitches. “Nalin! What is he doing?!”

“What a cute bracelet!” She gasped. “Ooh! It’s got a lotus charm on it, too! Aw!”

Wisty says, “I’m going out there.”

“Hold on. Not yet.” Mallie said as she blocked the bunny with her wing.

“Huh? Why not?”

“You know, I‘ve loved lotuses ever since I was a little girl,” Namika rambled. “Any color is great, but I’ve loved yellow ones! Silly, because I have blonde hair. They symbolize good luck and joy, and I’m known as being a happy person.”

She then noticed that the squirrel was still sitting in its spot. “Oh! Did I ramble too much? I’m sorry. I like flowers.” She awkwardly laughed. “Hm, surprised you’re still here.”

“She…! She has to be one!” Nalin thought. “The passion! The knowledge!”

“So um, about earlier. Did you actually talk back there?”

“Nalin! Retreat! Retreat!” Wisty cried.

Namika then hears a rustling in the bush. “Hm?” She then gets up to walk over to it.

“Oh, no! They’re going to get caught!”

Namika gets on her knees and looks closely in the bush. “Hello?”

The four other fairies backed away in fear. “What should we do?” Winnie whisper-shouted as her antennas twitched.

Namika then locks eyes with Wisty. “Oh! Hey, little bunny! It’s okay to come out!”

“Don’t trust her, Wisty!”

Nalin couldn’t move. He wanted to shout to tell them that Namika wouldn’t hurt them, but he didn’t want to risk it. However…

“Wait!” Nalin then yelled. “Guys! She won’t hurt you!”

Namika then turns to the squirrel. “You can talk!”

“U-Um—!”

“Everyone, scatter!” Mallie instructed. Then, Wisty and Lila sped out of the bush while she and Winnie took flight in the air.

“W-Wait! I won’t hurt you! I promise!” Namika cried.

“Guys!” Nalin yelled again. “Please, she won’t!”

“Come on, Nalin! This place is a bad idea! Let’s go!” Mallie said.

“No! Please! Trust me!”

Winnie was flying over to the group but dropped her pink bracelet on the way. “Oh no! My bracelet!”

Namika sees the object dropping into the grass and runs to it to pick it up. Nalin then flies to Winnie and the others. “Guys, please,” he said again. “She won’t hurt you.”

“Are you sure about that?” Wisty asked.

“Yes, yes! I’m sure!”

Wisty was hesitant. “I don’t know.”

He pleads again. “Please. I’ll show you.”

The group looks at each other and flies down to Namika. Winnie hesitatingly creeps up with her wings covering her body to take the bracelet back.

“Is this yours?” Namika asked gently. Winnie slowly uncovers her body. She nods but doesn’t respond. Namika then gives the bracelet to her.

“Your name’s Namika?” Nalin asked.

“Yep!”

“Okay, Namika. Is there anyone else around us?”

The blonde looks around the garden. “No.”

“Good. Can we talk to you?”

“S-Sure.” She sits at the edge of the fountain with Nalin standing in her hands.

“Namika, my name is Nalin. This is Wisty, Mallie, Winnie, and Lila. My friends.”

“Hello.” She softly waved.

“We may not look like it, but we come from a different world. The Hanataba Kingdom.”

“A kingdom?!” Namika shouted.

“Shh! Shh!”

“S-Sorry. Are you, like, royalty?”

“Technically, no. We serve under our queen. Queen Hibiscus.”

“She sounds very regal! Hibiscus’s are a symbol of royalty and power.”

Nalin’s face then turns saddened. “Well, her power has been…fatiguing.”

“Oh no. What happened to her?”

“W-Well…” Nalin then turns to the group.

Mallie then steps forward. “We’ve been informed that our queen and our entire land has been poisoned by the Dokunuma Royal Army.”

“Who are they?”

“They’re the people who possibly poisoned our kingdom. Our queen gave us these bracelets to find the warriors that protected us: the Precures.”

“Precures?” Namika then looks at the bracelet in her hand. “These belonged to them?”

“Yes. Her Majesty sent us here to find them. She even sent away her Royal Flower Crowns. They’re the power source of our home. We’ve searched for a long time and we can’t find them anywhere.”

“Can we trust you?” Lila asked. “We need help to find them.”

“Yes. I’ll do my best.” She nodded.

“Thank you, Namika.” Nalin said with tears in his eyes.

A bell then rang. “Ah! I have to go to class!” She gives the lotus bracelet back to Nalin, quickly springs up, and runs to the bench to grab her school bag.

“Class?” Lila tilted her head to the side.

“Yeah! I’ll see you after school!”

Nalin watches Namika disappear around the corner of the building and looks back at the lotus bracelet. It started to faintly glow yellow.

“Nalin?” Mallie asked. “Are you okay?”

“Hm? Oh, yeah. Yeah! I’m okay.”

°°°

After school was done for the day, Namika switched from her inside school shoes to her outside shoes. She heads to the garden to see Nalin and the others.

“Sorry, it took so long! Hope I didn’t keep you waiting that long!”

“That’s okay!” Nalin beamed.

“So! Where should we start looking first?”

“Hm, I don’t know.”

“I know! Let’s try the Hanahirano Park! A lot of people gather there when I get out of school every day.”

“Perfect! Let’s go!”

“Ah, well, I don’t want anyone seeing you guys floating around me. Here,” she opens her school bag. “Get in here.”

Nalin hesitates. “It looks cramped in there.”

“There’s not a lot in it. I think you all can fit in here.”

“Alright.” He shrugged. The five animals flew inside and they all headed to the park.

Namika sits down on a bench and breathes in the fresh air. “Ah! It’s so nice out!” She opens her bag and the fairies pop out.

“Finally!” Nalin exclaimed. “I’m free!”

“Wow. You’re right. There’s a lot here. How are we going to find the Precures?”

“Try this.” Namika clears her throat and cups her hands around her open mouth. “Hey, Precures! I have your fairy friends here! Where are you?!”

“Namika!” He flies up to cover her mouth.

The people around looked at her confused and surprised. Namika sinks onto the bench. “Sorry.” She mumbled.

“Let’s try finding another way.” Mallie said.

“But how?”

“I’m not sure.” Namika hummed. She sees a small pond near the bench. Near it was a small girl and her mother, kneeling at the pond.

“Mommy, mommy! Look!” The girl pointed. In the water was a flower floating on a lily pad. “What’s that pretty flower over there.”

“That’s a lotus, sweetheart.” She kindly replied.

The girl gasps in delight. “It’s so pretty!”

Namika smiles at the conversation and decides to walk over to her. “I like lotuses, too. They are pretty, aren’t they?”

“Yeah!” She nodded.

“You know, they symbolize good luck if you wish to it.”

She gasps, “Really?” She turns to her mom. “Mommy! Can I make a wish?”

“Sure! What do you wish?”

The little girl places her hands together and bows her head down to the flower slowly floating to her. “I wish to be as strong and hardworking as mommy and daddy!”

In the sky, the Dokunuma Prince Castor flies above. He looks around the area with a disgusted look. “Revolting. This place is a disgrace. These…trees, this grass.” He then opens his crossbody bag and takes out a black Dark Seed packet. “Let’s see if your little invention worked, Tsutsuji.”

He rips the bag open and holds the black seed above him. “O, Dark Seed, plant thyself into the surface and rise. Let your growth pollute and poison this land!” The seed glows a purple around it and Castor throws it down towards the pond.

The seed lands inside the buds of the lotus flower and the flower starts to wilt. The skies turned a dark black and the clouds disappeared.

“Mommy!” The girl asked. “What happened? What happened to the flower?”

“I don’t know.” The woman said, worried.

“What’s…going on?” Namika questioned. Then, she heard the two coughing beside her. “Hey! Are you okay?”

“Help.” The woman wheezed. “I can’t breathe.”

“Mommy!” The girl wailed. “It hurts!”

“It’s okay. Mommy has you.”

“Namika!” Nalin cried as he flew towards Namika. “We need to get you inside somewhere safe!”

“What? Why?” She grows worried as she sees the people in the park falling to their knees and coughing violently. “What’s happening?!”

Then, she feels a sharp pain in her chest. She falls and starts coughing. “I can’t breathe! Nalin!” She wheezed. “What’s happening to me?”

“It’s the Royal Army! They’re here to invade!” He panicked.

“Nalin!” Wisty yelled. “Oh no! Namika! Quickly, where can we put her?”

“I don’t know!”

Castor breathes in the air. “Ah, that’s more like it.” He looks down and spots five animals. “There you are.” He grinned.

He dives and snatches them into his arms. “Hey! Let us go!” Mallie screeched.

“Who are you?” Nalin asked.

“Why, I am the prince of the Royal Army! Prince Castor! You don’t know me?”

“Prince? I don’t remember there being a prince!”

“Shut up! Where are the Royal Flower Crowns? You’re a part of the Hanataba Kingdom, are you not? Where are they?”

“We’re never telling you!”

“If you don’t tell me, this entire world will perish!”

Namika looks up. “Who are you?”

“Hm?” He hears a voice and sees that it was a human girl.

“Who are you? What are you doing to do with them?! Give them back!”

“Namika!” Nalin yelled.

“Oh? What are these?” He snatches the bracelets off of the animals’ necks. “Bracelets? Feh!” He throws them aside.

“No!” Winnie wept.

Namika sees the bracelets and rushes over to them. Her coughing fit seemed to get worse. “What did you do to me, you monster!”

“Looks like it’s affecting you.” He chuckled. The ground began to rumble and he leaps into the sky. “And it seems it’s about to begin.”

“What?” She looks to the pond and sees the lotus growing to the size of a giant. To her surprise, it had black eyes and a pair of arms and legs.

“Fertiliar!” It yelled. The giant started stomping around the park, throwing trees and crushing bushes.

“Hey!” She hoarsely yelled. “Don’t do that!”

“Fer?” The giant turns to hear her voice and it stomps towards her direction.

“Yeah! You heard me!” She slowly starts to stand up. “Leave…” her breathing started becoming shallow. “This park…alone!” She falls back onto her knees, wheezing.

“Namika, no!” Nalin cried.

“The poison’s getting worse!” Wisty said. “If we don’t save her, then…!”

Before Namika could stand again, she was picked up and thrown into the bark of a tree. She yelled in pain and cried.

Nalin felt a sense of anger rising in him. “Namika!” He then bites into Castor’s hand, making him let go and hold his hand in pain. “Quickly! Over here!”

The fairies fly over to Namika. “Namika! Can you hear us? Namika!” Lila called.

She moans, opening her eyes. She heard a loud ringing in her ears.

“Namika!” Her hearing cleared she could see a small white deer floating above her. It was Lila.

“Your…bracelets. I kept them safe for you.” She weakly opened her hand and there they were.

“Namika.” She whispered and each fairy took back their bracelets.

The blonde slowly gets onto her knees, wincing from her back pain. She uses the bark on the tree, plus the fairies, to help her stand again.

“You!” Namika yelled at Castor. “I don’t know who you are, or whatever that giant thing is, but you both need to leave! Now!”

The prince laughs, “Oh? And what are you going to do? Your body is slowly becoming weaker! There’s nothing you can do! This world shall rot into dust when I find those Royal Crowns!”

“No! They belong to the Hanataba Kingdom and these fairies’ queen! They care about flowers and nature unlike you! You’re a monster who just likes to see people suffer!”

Lila then sees Nalin’s bracelet glowing. “Nalin! Your bracelet! What’s going on?”

“I-I don’t know!” The object starts to glow brighter. “Wait. Could it be?”

“I care about this planet!” Namika takes a step forward. “I want to see its beauty grow! If you kill off this planet’s life, we won’t survive!” She then eyes the young girl and her mother. “So that’s why I want to protect it, even if it does cost me my life!”

“Everyone, stay back!” Nalin told the group and flew to Namika. “Namika!”

“Nalin!” Then, a burst of golden light flashed Castor and the giant Fertliar, blinding them.

Namika opens her eyes to see a void of bright yellow and herself wearing a shining yellow dress. “Ah! Wh-Where am I?! Nalin?! Guys?!”

“I’m here! You’re one of them!”

“Nalin!”

The squirrel appears with the yellow lotus bracelet. “Take this. It belongs to you now.”

“What?”

“You’re a Precure now, Namika!”

“I’m…? I’m a Precure?!”

“Yes! Yes, you are! Now, you have to transform.”

“T-Transform?! Wait, I’m confused.”

“You’re a hero. Say whatever comes to mind. Then, raise your arm in the air.”

“Um, okay!” She takes the bracelet puts it on her wrist and raises her arm. “Precure! Blooming Metamorphosis!”

The lotus charm from the bracelet glowed and released a ball of energy. The glow disappeared and out came a yellow watering can filled with clear water.

She catches it by the handle and pours the water down the dress, forming her yellow bow with a pink lotus, top, shorts, a belt with chiffon fabric at the front, and a skirt that draped from her legs and wrapped around her waist behind.

From the belt was a clipped-on loop with a whip wrapped around it.

She then passes the watering can to Nalin and he pours the water into her palms. She splashes the water on her face, making her hazel eyes turn a light yellow.

Nalin then pours the water down one arm to make Namika’s puffy yellow and white sleeve and a white yellow-striped glove that formed up to her elbow. The same forms on the other arm.

He passes it back to Namika. The water then flows down her legs to form her knee-high socks designed like her gloves, but with yellow bows on the back. Her heels were yellow with pink lotuses on the straps.

Next, she pours the water on her head. Her blonde hair glowed and she spun, making her hair transform into a cream-yellow gradient. Her pigtails became bigger and puffier and her hair clips consisted of a large yellow lotus and a smaller pink lotus.

Finally, she throws the empty watering can and the bracelet into the air and they merge into a yellow choker; the watering can becomes a charm. Namika catches it and clips it around her neck.

A pink lotus blooms, revealing from its buds a warrior dressed in yellow. “The shining sun of joy and creativity! Cure Lotus!”

“Cure…Lotus?” Prince Castor said in shock.

“Whoa! Namika’s a Precure!” Mallie flapped her wings in excitement. “This is amazing!”

The new Cure Lotus looked at her new outfit in surprise and her new hair transformation. “Whoa, whoa, whoa! Wait! What am I wearing?!”

“Welcome, Cure Lotus.” Nalin said with a smile.

“Nalin! What is this?! Why do I look like this?!”

“This is you! You’re Cure Lotus!”

“Cure Lotus?! Me?” She then put her hand on her chest. “Oh! I don’t feel that sharp pain anymore!”

“Yeah! You have the powers of a Precure! It healed you!”

The prince growled and looked up at the giant Lotus monster. “Fertiliar! Get her!”

The giant looks in her direction and charges after her. “Fertiliar!”

“Lotus! Jump away!” Nalin instructed.

“What? Um, okay!” Lotus jumps away but starts to freak out as she floats in the air. “Ah! Too high! Too high!”

“It’s okay! It’s a part of your powers!”

“Jumping really high? Ahhhh!” She screamed as she flew back down.

“Lotus! Focus on your target! Your target is that giant!”

“Well, what do I do?!”

“Attack it!”

Stress started to build up. “How?!”

“You know, kick and punch it!”

“Oh! So like a superhero!”

“What? No!”

“Yeah! You kick and punch! Watch!” She runs towards it at the speed of lightning.

The Fertiliar opens its bud and shoots out small black seeds as bullets. Lotus dodged every seed and winds up a punch. She hits the Fertiliar, making it fly across the park and knocking it to the ground. Then, she jumps up and axe kicks it.

Prince Castor gasped at the attacks. “Such power! How does a little girl have this?!”

Lotus then looks behind to see Castor. “You!” She runs to him and tries to round-kick him, but he catches her leg and throws her toward the Fertiliar, who just stood up. The giant catches her. “Hey! Let me go!”

“Lotus!” The fairies yelled.

“Come over here! Hide!” Lila instructed and they hid underneath a bench.

As Lotus squirmed, Castor floated above her. “Cure Lotus.”

She bares her teeth. “What do you want?”

“Don’t stand in my way. Those Flower Crowns are mine.”

“No! They’re not!”

Then, a sphere of purple energy floated in Castor’s hands. “Then, it looks like I’ll need to do this.”

Her eyes widened as it charges up. “No! No!”

“Lotus!” Nalin yelled.

Castor turns around. “On second thought,” he snatches Nalin up before he can even escape and holds him tightly. “I’ll use him instead.”

“No! Lotus!” He strained.

“Nalin! Let go of him!”

“And what will you do?” The prince sneered.

Lotus then felt a rise of anger in her. “I said let go of him!” Then, a bright light burst out of the whip from her belt. The Fertiliar was, yet again, blinded and drops her.

“What is this?!” Castor yelled, shielding his eyes. Nalin had enough room to worm out and escape. He flies to Lotus.

“Nalin!” She unclips the whip and it unravels. “What’s going on?! I have a whip?!” The rope glowed brightly.

“I think this is your weapon! Use it on the Fertiliar! Shout out your attack! Remember to focus!”

“U-Um, okay!”

“Come on, Fertiliar!” Castor shouted. “You’re not going to be beaten easily by a human girl!”

Lotus closes her eyes to focus. She cracks the whip, making a loud crack sound that echoed. She then opens her eyes and she runs towards it.

“Precure!” She spins the whip in a circle above her head. “Lotus…!” She cracks with the whip horizontally, vertically, then diagonally left and right. A giant, translucent pink lotus appears in front of her. “Whiplash!” She cracks the whip to send the giant lotus flying.

“Whoa!” The fairies gasped in amusement.

The giant lotus envelopes the Fertiliar and it cries out, “Fer~!” The monster then disappears.

“Oh, wow! I did it!” Lotus cheered. “Woo! I did it!”

“Cure Lotus,” Castor muttered. “I underestimated you. Tsutsuji, looks like your invention failed.” He snaps his fingers and disappears.

Lotus points at the sky. “Look!” The clouds had returned and the sky was now a clear blue. The park was magically rebuilt and the people were relieved of the poison.

“Mommy?” The girl whispered. “Are you okay?”

“I’m okay.” She said as she hugged her. “We’re not hurt anymore.”

“Are you two alright?” Cure Lotus asked as she approached them.

The little girl looks up at the blonde warrior. “Whoa!”

“Thank you, miss, for saving us!” Said the woman.

“You’re welcome.” She said with a smile and a wink.

“Lotus!” Nalin yelled. Lotus’s form disappeared and Namika was back to normal.

“Woo! That felt great!” She said as she stretched. “I’ve never felt such a rush of energy before!”

“Look!” Nalin holds up a flower crown surrounded with vines and lotuses of yellow and pink. “We got a Flower Crown!”

“Whoa! This is a Royal Flower Crown? It looks so pretty!” She was given the crown and puts it on her head.

“You look amazing, Cure Lotus.” Nalin joked.

She giggles, “Thank you!”

“Namika!” The other fairies called, joining the duo. “That was incredible!”

“Aw, thanks!”

“And you got one of the Royal Flower Crowns!”

“What do we do with it? Can we go to your home and give it to her?”

“Sadly, no. She’s resting to fight off the poison that affected her. We’re going to need to stay here for quite a while until it’s safe.”

“That’s okay! You can stay at my house!”

“Really?” Lila asked. “Thank you!”

“Everyone. Nalin, Lila, Mallie, Wisty, Winnie. I promise. I will retrieve those crowns and save your kingdom!”
