"Kacchan are we almost there?" Izuku asked, he tried not to whine but he wasn't used to this kind of exercise. Don't get him wrong he was having fun hiking and being outdoors with Katsuki but it was getting dark and it was a long ways back.
"Almost, just hold out a little longer fucking Nerd." The blonde answered. Katsuki had huge plans for them this weekend. They weren't exactly dating… but they weren't exactly not either. It was complicated, and Katsuki wanted to make it uncomplicated.
Izuku grunted and panted as they hiked. Truthfully it was a good workout. And he got to watch Kacchan's ass. He blushed, and mumbled as he was deep in thought. Suddenly Katsuki stopped and Izuku almost ran into him.
"We're here." Katsuki stated, he moved aside some bushes and let Izuku go through first. Beyond the bushes was an already set up campsite. The blonde had been busy setting it up the night before. There was a small yellow tent to one side, a picnic table to the other, and a fire ring in the middle.
"Whaa! Kacchan sugoi!" Izuku praised looking around the place with big bright eyes. It was pretty much dark now so he couldn't see all too well but he could tell it was a campsite. "For us?"
"Yup." Katsuki answered, blushing to his ears. Izuku was so adorable he wanted to just eat his face sometimes. He went over to start the fire and light some lanterns, lighting up the place some.
"Go ahead and unpack, then I want to show you something." He gestured toward the tent. God damn he was nervous as hell!
"Okay!" Izuku was grinning from ear to ear as he crawled his way into the tent. This was such a romantic thing to do. He thought. Oh, but, was he looking too much into this? They were friends first and foremost. But lately they had been getting closer… they even kissed once. He blushed thinking about it. Every time they were alone lately his heart fluttered and stomach would do flip flops.
"Fuck, you almost done in there shit nerd?" Katsuki asked and cleared his throat. He had put down his own backpack by the tent door to unpack later.
"Ye-yeah, sorry Kacchan!" Izuku scrambled out the tent. He looked around the campsite again now that it was all lit up. "This is so cool Kacchan! Thank you for taking me here." The greenette beamed. He had never gone camping before, whereas Katsuki did it quite frequently.
"Yeah… you're welcome." Katsuki said with a soft expression for the nerd. They both blushed, and were silent for a moment. Finally the blonde broke. "Get your fucking ass over here Nerd, there's something else I wanna show you."
Izuku nodded and nervously followed. They walked past the tent, away from the light. It didn't take long to come to the edge of a cliff. "Kacchan?" The greenette questioned looking at the blonde's face in the dark.
Katsuki rolled his eyes. "Look out, you damn Nerd. Not fucking down." He pointed straight out away from the ledge, not down, out at the forest.
Izuku was confused but did so. He was suddenly speechless as he stared out and up. There was a vast sea of stars and a crescent moon in the dark night sky. Sure he had seen the night sky before. He sort of forgot what it looked like though being in the city and this place felt different. " Whoa… Kacchan It's gorgeous!" He finally spoke.
"Yeah…" Katsuki was looking at Izuku when he agreed. He was so overwhelmed and nervous, he felt like he was going to cry.
"Kacchan?" Izuku turned to the other boy.
"What?!" He didn't mean to snap. "I'm fucking fine okay. Damnit." He cursed at himself and rubbed at his eyes.
Izuku frowned at him and reached out but Katsuki just gently knocked his hand away.
"Just… let me get this fucking out before I chicken out." He took a deep ragged breath, Izuku still looking at him concerned. "I… you… we… damnit why is this shit so fucking hard!" Katsuki swore, he had been over this scenario a thousand times in his head, he had known exactly what he was going to say. So now why was it so hard?
Izuku smiled softly up at the blonde and gently took his hand in his scared ones. "It's okay Kacchan. Take your time."
Katsuki was able to calm down a little then and collect his thoughts. "De-Izuku. I know I've been a shitty person to you. I don't fucking know why you call me your friend. I don't… shit! I don't deserve you!"
"Kacchan…"
"Just let me fucking finish okay." He said gently, getting a nod from Izuku. "We've been through so much in our short lives. It… it hurts to think one day… I may never see you again. And that shit fucking scares me! But Izuku I… damnit I need you in my life!"
Izuku had tears at the corners of his eyes, and gripped Katsuki's hand more firmly. "Kacchan I'll always-"
Katsuki cut him off. "No, fuck, I mean… I need you here." He took Izuku's hand and placed it on his own heart. Tears threatened to fall from crimson eyes.
Izuku looked up at Katsuki, smiling softly, tears streaming down his face. He placed both his hands on either side of the blonde's face. "Kacchan, you already have me. You've always had me, and always will."
Katsuki nuzzled his face into Izuku's hands as they brushed his tears away. "I love you Izuku." His voice was soft and raspy, but full of love as he looked down at the greenette.
"I love you too, Kacchan." Izuku responded before burrowing his face in Katsuki's chest. The blonde wrapped his arms around the smaller boy, holding him close.
The two boys sat on the edge of the cliff for what felt like hours. Just holding each other and snuggling. They talked mostly about the future and the present, remembering only good things from the past. The stars sparkled so bright and Katsuki loved the way they shone in his new boyfriend's eyes.
"Look Kacchan! A shooting star! Make a wish." Izuku closed his eyes tight and wished for a long happy life with Kacchan and to make a family together.
Katsuki obeyed his boyfriend, making a wish himself. He had a smile on his face watching Izuku.
"What did you wish for Kacchan?" Izuku smiled.
Katsuki leaned down and kissed Izuku's temple before whispering in his ear. "To be with you always." Izuku blushed, giggled, and snuggled closer to Katsuki.
After awhile they got up and made their way back to camp. Katsuki made them dinner over the fire. And since it was late they soon retired to the tent. That weekend was beautiful for the new couple. They wished they could have stayed longer but they had to return to UA. Katsuki was not looking forward to his squad teasing him for taking so long to ask Izuku out. However the other was excited to finally tell people it was official.
