Summary
“Jones was a wanted man.” The man continues, his head dipping low to avoid your stare. “Several counts of stagecoach robbery and the murder of a Lawman by the end of his life, that’s what they say. Sheriff sent at least twenty of his best men after him, too. Said he wanted Jones hanging by the following day.” His words drop low, as though he was telling you a well-guarded secret from his innermost thoughts, “Allen Jones was a thief, to say the best, but he wasn’t no murderer.” A jaded look crosses his face—just for a second—but before the look can fully register, your vision is rippling at the edges, contorting the world around you into a spinning blur.
