“Not here, darling,” he said. “First, I have a special job for you.” He led them to the table and curled his tail about Alero’s ankle as they sat. “Someone who will melt for your particular talents.” He gave him a sly look.
“And what talents are those?” Alero asked lightly. Cal laughed.
“You are as vain as a cat,” he informed him.Before he was scooped up by the illithids, Alero Assira was in over his head already.
