Work Text:
It was supposed to be a relaxing evening. All the house lights turned off, the only source of light was being softly illuminated by the TV, in which the sound was turned down extremely low to not disturb Sally, who was sleeping upstairs.
It’s a perfect recipe for a chill, relaxing night, but for Sunny, that euphoric feeling was ruined by a certain pain in his head. While it had been a while since the incident he had with Basil, his head still ached where his eye lay missing. Luckily, it wasn’t a constant pain, but it was still unfortunate when the fiery feeling came around every once in a while.
So, there Sunny was; laying on the couch, with Basil laying on the opposite, and Aubrey, Kel, and Hero sleeping on the floor. Kel, specifically, was laying right below Sunny.
Just when Sunny was on his tenth attempt of falling asleep, he heard a soft mumbling coming from beneath him.
“Mm..”
Sunny moved his head from the couch to look below him.
The noise came from Kel. It was almost incoherent, but Sunny was feeling a bit nosy. He wanted to know what Kel was saying. Was he awake?
“Sunny…”
Whether Kel was asleep or not didn’t matter anymore. Kel muttering Sunny’s name was enough to send his cheeks on fire. His thoughts were all jumbled up that he didn’t notice there was a hand awkwardly placed on the side of his head.
With enough force from Kel, he jerked Sunny’s head down towards him. Sunny couldn’t think straight; what was going on?
Kel proceeded to plant a soft kiss on Sunny’s bandaged eye. Sunny’s eyes widened. If he didn’t know what was happening before, he definitely did now.
Just when Sunny was about to question Kel, the tanned boy slumped back down on the floor, making a soft ‘thud.’ He proceeded to start lightly snoring as he always does.
So… he was definitely asleep, right? He was sleeping-talking, right? Sunny’s head was spinning in circles, trying to process what just happened. The blush on his face got brighter the more he thought about it.
Regardless, Sunny was still going to have trouble falling asleep, although this time it won’t be because of his head pain.
