“Morning, Doctor Gearloose.” Fenton said, an uptick in his usual tone of voice. Gyro turned in his chair, hid face quickly reddening at just the mere sound of Fenton’s voice. They had spent the weekend together, giving into feelings that were shoved deep, deep down until the moment everything unfurled.
And it was heaven, the two of them resigning to stay locked away in order to make up for lost time. And the agreement of keeping the status quo while at work. But the way Fenton’s brown eyes shined under the dingy fluorescent lightbulbs made him want to break every rule they had put into place.
“Good Morning, Doctor Intern.” Gyro said, he wanted to pull Fenton close and continue where they had left off that very morning. Instead, Fenton approached him, setting down a Starducks cup in front of him with a small smile.
“I brought you coffee…” Fenton said, free hand scratching at the back of his neck, “I hope that’s okay.” He added.
And Gyro smiled, taking the cup and raising it to his beak, taking a sip and smiling in return, “It’s great, Fenton.” he replied, his voice low, “Thank you.” he added in.
And if they took their break at the same time that day, then no one was any wiser.
