"Wataru… Hey?" As Tomoya lifted his head to look up at his partner, he could only smile to himself at the sight that greeted him. He was asleep, with his head resting back against the couch, his hair covering half of his face.
Tomoya chuckled and reached up to brush those strands away, then took a glance back at the movie. "I agree, it is kind of boring." He cuddled up to Wataru's side, pulling his knees up to his chest. "Hey.. I love you."
"I love you more than words can describe~" Though his eyes were still closed, there was a mischievous, little smile on Wataru's lips and Tomoya only rolled his eyes.
"I knew you weren't really sleeping."
"You had no idea~ I'm a masterful actor after all," Wataru said as he pulled the blanket covering the two of them over Tomoya's shoulder before it would fall off. "But!" He yawned, dropping his head on top of Tomoya's, nuzzling him. "It is indeed a boring movie and I may have really dozed off there for a little while."
Curling up even more in his embrace, Tomoya let his own eyes close. "Maybe we should take a nap…" he mumbled. Feeling nothing, but Wataru's warmth, it was easy for him to get sleepy as well. Especially so late in the night.
"It's good background noise for a nice sleep." Wataru agreed and squeezed Tomoya close to himself, pressing his lips into his hair for a moment. "Ah, I love you…" he mumbled.
"I love you too, but if your choice for the next movie night will be like this too, I might consider a divorce."
"Fufu~ Surely you wouldn't throw away two years of marriage just for a movie, hm?"
"Don't tempt me."
Contrary to his words, Tomoya only moved closer. Cuddled into Wataru's arms, more and more until he was practically fused with him, his head rested on his partner's chest, his soft heartbeat under his ear was the perfect little lullaby.
And Wataru wasn't complaining either, getting to hold, to caress his most beloved like this. With nothing between them, it was a beautiful feeling. One he could never get enough of. The comfort of a home. Of a person he could call his home. "Tomoya-kun… will you marry me? Allow me to stay by your side for the rest of our lives, just like this?"
"Idiot.." He took Wataru's hand, fingers intertwined, both hands decorated with a dazzling ring. "No matter how many times you ask, I'll say yes every time. You are really… My Everything.." With his other hand, he began to play with Wataru's braid, untying it and letting it loose.
Wataru remained silent and allowed it to happen. He let Tomoya begin rebranding it, while his eyes closed back down. This time, he'd truly drift off to sleep. But not before he'd whisper. "Thank you…"
Tomoya pressed a kiss to Wataru's shoulder and pulled the blanket better around him to make sure he stays warm. He finished the braid he started, giving Wataru time to drift into a deeper sleep. Only then did he also let his own eyes close.
The noises of the TV faded from his mind, the only sound he heard was Wataru's steady breathing and the soft beat of his heart, a song, a rhythm, reserved for him. As he felt Wataru's arms tighten around him, he knew he was safe. No harm could ever come to either of them, as long as they were together. With that assurance, it was easy to fall asleep.
A night like all the others, on the couch with a movie, yet each one felt special in its own way. No matter how much time has passed. Each moment was more beautiful than the last.
Each moment. Every day. It was home.
