    Summary

"In the language of flowers, the deadly nightshade’s purple flowers symbolized silence or falsehood. The Victorians might interpret a gift of belladonna as a warning, or as a symbol of death."

Katsuki gently cradles the mangled body towards himself, feeling his gloves absorb the blood that still seeps from the mutilated flesh in front of him, and he can’t fathom how a body could hold so much blood. But this was Izuku, and he always held too much of everything. Too much hope, too much love, too much blood. And he knows that someone who’s lost this much blood is dead. It is clinically impossible for them to be alive, but he can’t help raising the little piece of love he holds in his arms to catch the slightest sound of a breath. Nothing. He moves a little farther down, close to where he thinks Izuku’s heart is, because even though he wore it on his sleeve, those nights in bed with Katsuki’s head on a firm chest told him differently. Nothing.

There was absolutely nothing except the deafening silence of death.
