To Have Justice and To Hold His Hand

Summary:

Higuruma Kento -

It has such a nice ring to it, does it not?

After nearly a year together, Nanami Kento and Higuruma Hiromi finally exchange vows.

Notes:

This is a copy of a long awaited RP marriage between my Nanami (@RATIOTECHNIQUE) and my friend Ghoul's Higuruma (@JUDGEMENTSHAND). This took place on Twitter (I'm still calling it that, bite me!)

Formatting may not be perfect since I've literally just copied tweets over, but overall I think this is a lovely, heartwarming scene! I had a ton of fun writing it, and I hope you enjoy reading it!

Work Text:

Today is the fateful day that both Higuruma Hiromi and Nanami Kento have been waiting for, the day they truly become one. Needless to say, it has been nerve-wracking, even for the blond. While most things have went smoothly, a few have not. Makeup had taken a bit longer to apply than originally anticipated, setting his intricate schedule askew. Knowing that he has to be at the altar by noon, less time would be spent on his hair. Which is styled similarly as usual, yet somehow neater. Not a strand astray, thanks to some very pricey, very well reviewed hair gel. Kento slowly steps toward the altar, his near-glistening white shoes audibly clacking against the tiled floor. The suit he wears is also white, though a small pin in the shape of a sunflower is safely affixed to his lapel. It's not the same as the one earned by bengoshi, yet it still holds incredible meaning:

𝙡𝙤𝙮𝙖𝙡𝙩𝙮.

From this day forward, he will be loyal - to his husband, to his love. To his world. The way he walks down the aisle emanates confidence, back as straight as can be, arms draped down both sides. They swing slightly, not too much. This act has been practiced time and time again - to perfection, Kento hopes. Eyes forward, he keeps focus on the altar itself, the crucial piece to the puzzle to finalize their binding vows. It's beautiful, made of marble with green vines delicately wrapped along the edges. Sunflowers adorn the surrounding area - a prominent theme of this wedding. Behind this, there rests one of the entrances to the hot spring, one where the view is immaculate. Sunlight reflects off of the water in a way that makes it appear as if it's sparkling, full of glitter and hope. Kento slows his pace once he's close to the altar, bowing slightly toward the officiant. His groom isn't here, yet, but that is according to the schedule. Takuma Ino stands nearby, both Hiromi's and Kento's rings in his possession. They rest in a velvet box shaped just like a sunflower, eagerly awaiting the two fingers they shall reside on for many, many years. The present groom finally glances toward the guests, his chest tightening as he soaks in the expressions he can see. This is really happening. Once Higuruma Hiromi steps through that door, Nanami Kento's minutes are limited.

Nanami Kento, as he is still known at this present moment, wouldn’t be kept waiting at the altar for very long. As the volume of the prelude music begins to noticeably die down, a reverent silence befalls the crowd, excited whispers no doubt heard but very few in number. From behind those large entry way doors stands the missing half of this union, by now more ‘walking ball of distress dressed to nines’ than man. Beside him his best man pats him on the shoulder, adjusting his floral pin and dabbing his head of sweat for what is to be the final time before the big moment. ❝This is it, Higuruma-san,❞ Itadori says, flashing the attorney an encouraging grin as bright as the sun, ❝Just remember what I told you, ‘kay? Nanamin is in there waiting for you. Don’t focus on anybody else.❞ With a stiff nod, the stress-ridden lawyer gratefully accepts his trusted companion’s words of encouragement, even attempting to smile back. It’s a pitiful offering— gagged and unsure— akin to a child’s drawing. Yuji can’t help but chuckle. ❝—Just Nanamin. If you do that, you’ll be fine! I promise.❞ Before Hiromi is able to muster a reply, the big heavy doors leading into the wedding hall begin to slowly creak open, prompting the rose-haired teen to leap away so that he might discreetly take his seat inside. A final thumbs up is thrust in Hiromi’s direction then, one he receives just in time to snap his head forward.

‘ Kento… I just… I just need to focus on Kento. ‘

Eyes the color of raw umber follow the flower pedal sprinkled aisle to the altar, a brilliant sheen glazing over them at the sight before them. There, standing tall and wearing the most beautiful smile the world over is Nanami Kento— His Nanami Kento. His groom. His husband… After having spent only a night apart, Hiromi had been struck with a longing unlike anything he’s ever experienced in his life, his lock screen open atop the pillow beside him as he had attempted to sleep remedying his loneliness about as effectively as a photo of oxygen to a drowning man. If the night previous had benefited him in any way, it had served to fortify his decision to commit the rest of his life to this man, this man who had in many ways become his oxygen.

❝Kento… My god…❞ He exhales softly, a rush of emotions washing over him as he dares a step forward. The others would follow, increasingly more sure than the first, eyes never leaving that heavenly visage. The rest are a blur, as are the cheerful faces lining the aisle until finally… yes… ❝Kento…❞ Comes a tender sigh, Hiromi’s eyes already starting to mist over as he shakingly takes hold of both his fiancé’s hands. There’s an affectionate squeeze then, one that says ‘please, please don’t ever leave my side again’ without the need for words. ❝You look so… so gorgeous… my casse-croute…❞

The doors swing open, and Kento thusly snaps his gaze to follow the sound. Light almost akin to what would be emanating from the pearly gates surrounds the attorney the moment chocolate hues rest upon his form. The blond takes a sharp breath in an effort to remain as calm and collected as possible. It's difficult to do so, to say the least. Higuruma Hiromi looks indescribably handsome, beautiful, captivating in this moment, in the present place and time. The white suit, a stark contrast from his usual black, signifies what Kento believes to be a shift away from the 'darkness.' Only light remains.

He knows that he is Hiromi's light - the 𝔩𝔦𝔤𝔥𝔱 beyond the 𝔡𝔞𝔯𝔨𝔫𝔢𝔰𝔰.

❝ Hiromi ..., ❞ he replies, words barely more audible than a whisper, undertones of emotion laced throughout each syllable. As if he's close to tears. ❝ You ... ❞ He isn't certain as to what to say. Vows are imminent, and he has them ready; what else can he express? His gaze briefly falls upon their joined hands, the squeeze eliciting the softest smile he's given anyone. His heart - it's absolutely full, close to bursting. The other's gesture - the squeeze - is read loud and clear. Nanami Kento, soon to be Higuruma Kento, will adhere to that request. A moment passes. It's essentially that, a brief second, before the officiant speaks. Kento turns his attention away from the object of his affection, a temporary break from his heart swelling even further.

❝ Dearly beloved, ❞ the officiant begins, and the blond instantly feels his lower lip quiver. It's subtle, but Hiromi may be able to pick up on it. ❝ We are gathered here today to join this man and this man in holy matrimony. ❞ A brief pause; Kento glances back down at Hiromi, lower lip quivering even harder. He knows it's going to be his turn to recite his vows first. These promises, these words, they mean so much. ❝ The couple have chosen to write their own vows, which they will now recite to each other. ❞ The officiant glances at Kento, nodding. ❝ Nanami-san, it is your turn. ❞ The blond swallows, throat visibly bobbing. He's read and reread these vows so many times.

Yet, he hasn't heard them spoken out loud. Eyelids fall, partway, as he parts his lips to speak. His voice spills out quietly at first, and he clears his throat (with a pardon) before a second attempt. His lip is still quivering.

Hands still entwined together, Kento makes no attempt to move or shift position. He's fine like this. Content, even. ❝ Hiromi, my beloved - ❞ Another pause, albeit brief, as the words he'd written and read run through his mind.

❝ It has been nearly one year since we'd met in that fateful café, an event of complete happenstance. Yet, I can safely state that such an event has entirely changed my life. Meeting you has unequivocally been the best thing to happen to me. ❞ His eyes, full of adoration and hope, completely open once he finishes this part. Chest rising, falling, it's apparent that he's taking deep breaths to stave off tears. He must finish this. ❝ You have been my utmost pillar of support, my partner in every sense of the word, and my best friend. Every hour we spend apart, be it due to work or any other reason, is misery. I am empty without you. To have proposed to you back in May was an easy decision. It felt right, it felt complete. The ring upon your finger conveys how I feel about you - about /us/. Given that, our matching wristwatches also declare to the world that we are a match. ❞ Kento makes a point to slowly pull one hand away from Hiromi's - just to tuck back the sleeve of his jacket. Said wristwatch is there, appearing recently polished.

❝ I have desired to take your name ever since that proposal, as I believe that it not only suits me better than my own, but that it further proves my dedication to you. I vow to always be by your side, physically or in spirit, and to protect you when needed. ❞ At this point in time, the blond's lower lip cannot stop trembling. He sucks in a sharp breath, a very futile effort to prevent the inevitable. He's crying. It's a silent cry, tears streaming down his cheeks without fanfare. ❝ I will be the husband you've always deserved. ❞ He can't help but to glance down, toward his feet, where a few teardrops begin to settle. ❝ I will be the man who always loves you, and will always be there for you. Please, Hiromi - take ... every part of my being as your own ... for I belong ... to you. ❞ Sharply, he'll pull the hand he'd used to show his wristwatch toward his own lips and clench it tightly. He's falling apart. His emotions are spilling forth, and he cannot even fathom trying to stop them. This day ... is one he will never forget.

Despite their having been together for almost an entire year, the majority of which they’d lived together, Hiromi can only recall a single time previous that he’d seen Kento brimming with emotion this profusely. Not before nor since the younger man had proposed to him had he exhibited such unbridled emotions and for Hiromi, this revelation is both reassuring and mildly disconcerting. The man who had until now served valiantly as the pillar grounding them both throughout this process is crumbling right before Hiromi’s very eyes, so wrought with bottled up emotions that he is scarcely able to speak as within Hiromi’s grasp his well-manicured hands palpably quiver.

‘ Kento… ‘ He mouths affectionately through upcurled lips, fighting back with everything in him not to disrupt the ceremony by pulling the tearful man into his arms. Mercifully, the officiant skillfully shatters the tension when he belts out his opening address, prompting the two lovers to shift their gazes from one another, albeit briefly. Their vows are to be read next, starting with Kento’s. Hiromi can feel his heart pounding thunderously within his chest as anticipation mounts. As the love-struck lawyer is listening to his fiancé’s beautifully written vows, it’s as if the other man’s emotions have begun seeping into him by way of his voice. Each eloquently composed thought, each cherished memory relayed with such delicate care it tugs mercilessly at the attorney’s heartstrings, chipping away at his own composure as his lover’s visibly dwindles away. If there existed any doubt in Hiromi’s mind that his beloved Kento didn’t love him, that he harbored any romantic feelings for another man, they are most assuredly gone by the time his vows are coming to a close.

Tears… A torrent of hot, salt-spiked tears set the attorney’s eyes ashimmer then, made to trickle down his cheeks once the identical dams situated at the base of each deep-seated optical cavity have reached capacity. Still smiling as they meander down each accessible furrow, his grip of Kento’s hand tightens. It says ‘I’m here, darling. I’m here and I’m not going anywhere.’ At the conclusion of Kento’s vows Hiromi’s hand is thusly extended outward, fingers grazing his cheek before the shell of his palm fully cups his tear-saturated face. Thumbing at those glistening pearls, the attorney’s own refuse to let up. It’s like this the two are permitted to remain for some moments until the officiant draws them back to the matter at hand. Only then would Hiromi relinquish his comforting touch. The vows he’d written are in his jacket and it is from here that he would need to draw them out when instructed.

❝And now, Higuruma-san. Your vows.❞ In a manner much like the one his fiancé had exhibited when steeling himself for this task, Hiromi straightens his posture before clearing his throat into his his closed fist. One hand still holds Kento’s now, one last tender look exchanged between them before he begins to read. ❝My dearest love, my heart, my moon and stars, today, surrounded by all of our loved ones, friends and colleagues, I have something very important to say to you that I can only hope you’ll keep close to your heart for the rest of your days, to comfort you in times of weakness or uncertainty, days where perhaps you may even doubt yourself or my undying love and devotion for you. As I’m admittedly not the most eloquent when it comes to articulating my feelings, I’ve decided after careful consideration to express myself here in the language I’m most fluent in. So, without further ado…❞

A pause permits Hiromi to inhale deeply, his nerves palpably shot as he once again gathers himself as best as he can.

❝Standing here, before an audience comprised of the most important people in our lives, I adjudicate you, the defendant, Nanami Kento, on this day, August 27th, 2023, guilty of the crime of grand larceny of the highest degree. You, Nanami Kento, have stolen my heart. You stole it from me and have not only kept it with you, but nurtured it, enriched it with careful affection and exposed it to a unique, profound love that had never been experienced prior to your care, thusly fortifying it and making it stronger and better fit to face a world that is at times unjust, cruel and contemptuous of things it doesn’t understand. For this act, I sentence you to a lifetime of happiness, love, devotion, warmth and bestow upon you a new surname of which you will be known with great affection from this day forward. I advise you that you have some fifty to sixty years to appeal the judgement and sentence against you, although it is my earnest hope that you will accept these charges and allow me both the honor and privilege of carrying them out with you for as… as long as we both shall live.❞ By the time Hiromi is finished speaking, more tears are trickling down his face and nose, his composure nearly lost as his gaze is elevated from the page in his hand. Thankfully, at the very least, he’d held it together until the end.

For a few moments, the blond waits, allowing his tears free rein of his cheeks, Hiromi's gentle hand, and thusly the floor. The sound of said teardrops slapping against the tiled floor are so subtle, so quiet, that one would have to concentrate to hear.

However, to Kento, they're as loud as a heavy rain dancing along a windowpane - echoing throughout the entire venue. The other man's gesture, the contact physically connecting the two of them, soothes his screaming heart. Tilting his head into the palm of his beloved's hand, he sniffles, wordlessly addressing the fact that he's shed more tears this day than he has in a long, long time. It is now the attorney's turn to speak, and that comforting touch vanishes. For Hiromi to express his utmost feelings and thoughts, Kento is positive - without a doubt - that these vows will be meaningful and impactful. Time - one of Kento's most impactful aspects of living, essentially his /brand/ - comes to a halt as the words flow from the older man's lips. Each one akin to a music note, a part of a symphony dedicated only to him. 'Beautiful' doesn't even begin to describe what is heard by the sorcerer; in fact, there have never been spoken words so inexplicably intoxicating - even though they're delivered just as a verdict and sentence would be. Perhaps that delivery is part of Hiromi's charm. Kento takes a shuddering breath as said sentence ends, and the tears begin to trace the issuer's cheeks. He steps closer, fingertips delicately swiping away what they can. It is then when the blond mouths a few reassuring words, ' You did wonderfully, my love. '

The officiant chimes in seconds later to keep the ball rolling; this is appreciated by Kento, who abhors wasting even a moment on a normal day. As much as he would like to linger and gaze into his world's eyes, he still dons the name 'Nanami'. That must change. ❝ Nanami Kento, do you take Higuruma Hiromi to be your wedded husband to live together in marriage? Do you promise to love him, comfort him, honor and keep him for better or worse, for richer or poorer, in sickness and health and forsaking all others, be faithful only to him so long as you both shall live? ❞ The recipient of that question straightens even more, gaze briefly trailing over toward the audience. ❝ I ... do. ❞ Shaking. His voice is shaking, but it's clear that he's agreed upon these vows. That in minutes, he will truly be Higuruma Hiromi's husband.

The delicate touches to his tear soaked cheeks to follow the conclusion of his vows are greatly appreciated by Hiromi, as is the silent expression of encouragement he receives from their recipient. Beneath Kento’s touch Hiromi’s skin yearns, his eyes falling closed for just a second as he savors their closeness not unlike an appetizer before a greatly anticipated meal. ‘ You did too, precious. Marvelously, ‘ He replies by way of his muted lips, eyes still red and puffy rolling open to bask in his soon to be husband’s unrivaled beauty in this moment. Nanami Kento is everything to him, as he’d so eloquently expressed in his vows. He wants to remember every detail of this moment forever and ever. A stray bolt of lightning could strike him down from the heavens and he’d die the happiest man to ever live. Of this he is certain.

With their composure for the most part restored and their eyes depleted of moisture, Hiromi and Kento join hands once again, gazes locked as the officiant leads them onto the next part of the ceremony— I do’s. Hiromi’s eyes never stray from his beloved’s face as the question is posed to him, although he does tense up a bit on instinct. Of course Kento wouldn’t forsake him now, not after all that has just transpired between them. Still, as intrusive thoughts are wont to do, it still crosses his mind, the nightmarish notion of losing his beloved at the altar. Heart pounding, the attorney waits on baited breath to hear those words, two crucial words that in their proclamation would set the course for the rest of their lives. ‘I do. ‘ Releasing a breath he hadn’t realized he’d been holding, the love struck lawyer’s smile widens, cheeks dusted pink as he affectionately squeezes his fiancé’s hands once more. Those pretty lips had done their magic once again, drawing forth still more moisture from eyes Hiromi was certain would never produce tears again. Inhaling sharply however does well to keep them contained. It’s his turn now.

❝And do you, Higuruma Hiromi, take Nanami Kento to be your wedded husband to live together in marriage? Do you promise to love him, comfort him, honor and keep him for better or worse, for richer or poorer, in sickness and health and forsaking all others, be faithful only to him so long as you both shall live?❞ Eyes scanning the packed pews briefly before returning to his beloved’s awaiting gaze, there exists no doubt as to what the older man is about to say. Grinning lips utter the words evenly, excitement barely contained by perhaps the same miracle that had brought these two men together in the first place. ❝I do.❞ At this, the officiant nods. ❝Repeat after me please. I, Hiromi Higuruma, take you Kento Nanami, to be my husband, to have and to hold from this day forward, for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish, till death do us part.❞ This Hiromi does without so much as a drop of hesitation, his heart swelling up within his chest tenfold as that fateful moment nears. The officiant would ask Kento to do the very same before at last, he’d slide that ring onto his finger…

Emotions continue to swell within the blond as he listens to the attorney say those two very important words - words that carry more weight than a semi truck. Lips remain in a wide smile, absolutely no anxiety remaining on any of his features. The thought of Hiromi leaving him at the altar has never crossed his mind. Yes, they've had disputes; they've had disagreements; they've had fights. Admittedly, what couple hasn't? Kento has made it absolutely clear that he has eyes for the thirty-six year old and nobody else. He is to be loyal, and he's positive Hiromi will be the same. As soon as his fiancé states the required lines following the 'I do,' Kento straightens up. One further squeeze to the hands enveloped within his, and then he pulls them back. As he's aware what he'll need to do very soon. But first -

❝Repeat after me please. I, Kento Nanami, take you Hiromi Higuruma, to be my husband, to have and to hold from this day forward, for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish, till death do us part.❞ The last five words send a chill down his spine as he utters them out, a final reminder of his dangerous career choice. The reason why he'd been apprehensive of ever forming such a close bond with anyone. Marrying Hiromi means that if the worst occurs - No. He can't think of that, not now. Not today.

Ino's turn to bear the rings arrives, and the blond takes one of them. They're matching, just as everything else is, though Hiromi's has a silver band tracing along both the top and the bottom. The light - it signifies the light that has fought the darkness and won. Fingertips tremble slightly as the precious metal is picked up, delicate maneuvers following suit so that it does not fall. He then looks directly into his fiancé's eyes. They're such beautiful eyes, and finally, it seems as if all traces of sadness have evaporated from them. Sparkling in the light of the room, they captivate Kento, nearly distracting him from his imperative task. With his left hand, he picks up Hiromi's holding it with as gentle of a touch as the ring in his right. ❝ I give you this ring as a token and pledge of our constant and everlasting love. ❞ Sucking in a sharp breath, he will then slip the ring down the attorney's appropriate finger, his chocolate eyes refusing to leave those umber ones. ❝ It is now the groom's turn to do the same, ❞ the officiant declares with a nod toward the older of the two. It's admittedly difficult for Kento to pull his hand away, even though he's well aware that the contact will return in due time. Ino then turns, slightly, offering Kento's ring to Hiromi. The seconds until Kento Higuruma is an official entity are fewer in number. He couldn't be more elated.

' We're so close, my love ... '

A shudder based at the nape of Hiromi’s neck courses down the length of his spine as he listens to his fiancé repeat the words he’d just recited back to him, their meaning rattling his very soul like a celestial incantation. Although they had rehearsed this part of ceremony extensively, their meaning hadn’t impacted him the way it does now, electrifying his nerves like live wires and igniting his blood. This is really happening. He and Kento are going to be husbands from this day forward. As he stands at the altar, hand in hand with the love of his life, Hiromi can’t help but think back to the day they had first met, as detailed in Kento’s vows. From the moment he’d first laid eyes on Nanami Kento, as he had expressed to the man himself verbatim, he knew he was in trouble. A closeted gay man, the simple question of ‘do you like men?’ asked of him by an angel come to earth had been enough to send him running, leaving a stunned 7:3 sorcerer in his wake.

‘ Had I never texted you back that night… Had I never admitted to it… my desire to see you… Would we be here now? Would we be together or would life have carried on as before? Without you, who would I be? ‘

At the conclusion of these final declarations of immovable love and devotion, the highly anticipated rings are thusly presented. Hiromi recognizes his mother’s choked sobs from one of the frontal pews as the blond beauty takes his hand in his own, his dark eyes brimming with adoration staring up and into his as he brings the shining silver band to the base of his finger. Suppressed tears stinging them once more, he swallows hard as the younger man at last slides what is to be another symbol of their commitment to one another onto his finger, the digit’s shaking no doubt adding difficulty to the task. Kento doesn’t appear deterred however, slipping the band on with relative ease and grace reserved for who is by far the most divine man Hiromi has ever known. And with that, it’s his turn now. Turning slightly so that he might pluck Kento’s ring from its velvet-lined cradle, his other hand gives his lover’s another reassuring squeeze. It’s unclear however just who is being reassured here. Once he has it in his grasp, Hiromi delivers the line, adoring eyes finding those captivating pools the color of coffee and never letting them go throughout. ❝I give you this ring as a token and pledge of our constant and everlasting love,❞ He muses in earnest, hands still trembling slightly as he slides the glimmering object onto his fiancé’s awaiting finger. Holding back tears he beams up at him, inhaling deeply through his nose in another vain effort to contain them.

❝Now, please join hands. By virtue of the authority vested in me, I now pronounce you husband and husband,❞ Recites the officiant clearly, a gentle smile on his face as he turns to address Hiromi. ❝You may now kiss the groom.❞ Without hesitation Hiromi would immediately draw his beloved husband into him, cradling both sides of his face in his hands before delivering the most impassioned, most loving kiss to his lips a man can muster. Tears are gushing down his cheeks like twin geysers, as huge smile gracing his lips as the crowd around them erupts into a chorus of cheers and whistles, all while confetti rains down upon them from above. ❝Ladies and Gentlemen, I proudly introduce you to Mr. and Mr. Higuruma!❞

Although the two men have kissed many a time, Kento can't help but highly anticipate the one that's right around the corner. He knows enough about weddings, about the ceremony itself, that after he receives his ring -

Their lips will join for the first time as husband and husband.

To say his heart is fluttering is an understatement. Eyes remain on the other man's, even as his ring is placed upon his finger; he'll have plenty of opportunities to relish in its beauty later, of course, but today Hiromi's eyes are captivating in ways they've never truly been. He, too, hears the sobbing from the guests, and as much as he's curious to see if any source of such noise is related to him (read: his parents), his gaze can't shift. Not at all. The instruction from the officiant rings through his core, and his lower lip once again threatens to quiver. Yet - he doesn't care; at this point in time, he can shed more tears than an entire river and it would be just fine. Slowly, delicately, he lets his eyelids fall closed the moment he feels his newly appointed husband's hands rest upon his cheeks. They're warm, full of utmost comfort, and manage to steady his shaking - enough to allow him receipt of the best kiss he's ever received. Hiromi's passion is unbridled, evident throughout each and every movement of his tongue, and as their lips finally part, Kento emits a soft, pleased sigh.

Once the two are officially announced by their surnames, Kento Higuruma speaks, focus entirely on his husband. ❝ There is one final task I must do,❞ he says softly, though at a volume the guests in the front seats can hear. As discussed previously, the blond picks up the other man - bridal style, obviously. His lips are in an incredibly wide smile, and as he walks back up the aisle with husband in tow, he finally lets his tears truly flow. Earlier was more of a prelude to a full blown symphony. ❝ I ... love you so much. ❞ The crowd's confetti dances through the air, a true symbol of the joyous occasion that has occurred on this beautiful August day.

That joyous moment where in which their lips collide at the behest of their officiant is by far the most exhilarating of Hiromi Higuruma’s entire life. With this it is done, Kento is now his husband at long last. He truly couldn’t be happier. For the sake of decency as they are standing in front of just about everyone they each know, Hiromi doesn’t linger. The kiss, although zealous, is tragically brief, only lasting a few spellbinding seconds until their lips would ultimately come apart. Hiromi’s eyes rolling open half way so that they may perceive his most precious treasure, his hands caress Kento’s pronounced, tear slicken cheeks as he waits for those aged bourbon pools to rejoin in his adoring gaze. When they do, what they perceive is an elated attorney, a man of 36 who looks considerably younger amidst the sheen of nuptial splendor. ❝That’s a wonderful name you have there, Mister Kento Higuruma,❞ He quips playfully as the hands cradling his lover’s face fall away in preparation for what is to happen next. He’d agreed to it, the manner in which he’d be leaving the altar. Even so, he’d still emit a surprised little yelp as the younger, evidently stronger man lifts him up into his arms. At this vantage point Hiromi would then proceed enthusiastically nuzzle into his husband with his nose, a string of contented chuckles parting his lips as his beloved carries him away.

❝I love you too, Kento. And to answer your question, yes. I do like men, I think.❞
