Work Text:
Lav had met a lot of stupid people in hell. Fuck, it seemed like half of the sinners she encountered were dim bulbs but she had never been the brightest in life so she couldn’t judge…to harshly. But this kid, he was the son of a wealthy hellborn demon, was currently winning some awards for how stupid he was. But at least he was winning something she supposed.
It started the moment she told him she had hired another dancer for his music video. The kid, Valor, had perked up right away at the idea of another pretty little thing running around, his words not hers. Lav merely rolled her eyes and started to get ready.
The kid wasn’t a half bad singer but he had the stage presence of a dead fish so she knew she had to get someone eye-catching. And who was more eye-catching than Angel Dust?
They had met in the studio about sixty years ago; he was the one who warned Lav to not make any kind of deal with Valentino. Something she was forever grateful for. She worked at the studio for about a decade when it became clear her star would rise no high Valentino dropped her. From there she worked as a stripper and dancer. Now she worked doing music videos.
When she heard that Angel had quit porn she reached out to him letting him know that if he wanted to dance with her again she would get him a spot. It was nice to be able to reconnect with her old friend.
“So Lav you never did tell me who the new dancer was?” Valor asked from the doorway of her dressing room. Meeting his eyes in the mirror she gave him a look as she dabbed her blush on.
If the kid was anything like a majority of hell's population he’d get a wet spot in his pants from the very idea of being in the same room as Angel Dust. It was honestly sad how desperate some of Angel’s fans were.
“Nope.” She made sure to pop the p in a way that would make her mother roll in her grave.
“Are you going to tell me?” Originally it was going to be a surprise but then the little fucker might not be coherent for the shoot.
“An old friend of mine, I'm sure you’ve seen some of his stuff.” The kid groaned clearly, not happy.
“You hired some dude?” Lav laughed.
“Not some dude, kid. Angel Dust.” It was like there was magic woven into his very name with how some people reacted. The kid at least just looked shocked and not like he was going to cum in his pants like a school boy.
“Angel Dust? Hell’s most popular whore? Hell’s pornstar?” Rolling her eyes Lav began to blend out her eyeshadow.
“Honey there is only one Angel Dust.” She chided. “He’ll be here in half an hour.” She said tapping the screen of her hellphone to make sure she hadn’t missed a message from him.
“You’ve got to help me!” Wrinkling her nose she met his eyes in the mirror again. What the hell was he talking about?
“I am helping you! I got you the most famous entertainer in hell. You should feel lucky, hell you should feel blessed Angel doesn’t do porn or hooking any more and the only reason he’s doing this is because he wants to spend time with me.”
“He doesn’t do porn any more?” This time she turned to face him.
“Did you miss it! Him leaving porn made the fucking breaking news about a month ago.” Valor stumbled to the side like someone had hit him.
“I thought it was a joke.” Idiot she thought as she turned back to the mirror.
“Now what the hell do you need help with?”
“You’ve got to help me get at least a date with Angel Dust.” Biting the inside of her cheek to keep herself from laughing she dug out her eyeliner.
“Why was it always your dream growing up to fuck him?” Valor nodded.
“Wasn’t it every guys?” In an effort to not ruin her makeup she had to pull the eyeliner pen away from her eye.
“You’re a moron, Angel's not going to sleep with you.” Valor made a confused noise like he had never been told something was impossible.
“Surly Valentino or whoever his new pimp is would be happy with the amount I’m willing to pay.”
“Kid, he’s not Valentino’s anymore and he ain’t got a new pimp.” She breathed out a sigh of relief when Valor nodded along with her she was hoping he would catch on.
“So he’s a free agent.” Slamming her eyeliner down she rounded on him.
“Alright moron Angel will be here any moment. Come with me, keep your mouth shut and your eyes open.” Valor nodded, clearly he didn't get it. But he would.
Right on time the double doors to the filming area opened making the entire cast and crew freeze. Outside was parked was a cherry red 1934 Cadillac Phaeton Convertible. The back door opened as Angel stepped out.
He was wearing a short black dress that clung to his curves like second skin with black pumps that clack along the pavement as he walked in the door. He wore vintage sunglasses in one hand was his purse in the other was his work bag.
But the most important detail that caught everyone’s attention was his coat. It wasn’t something that anyone would normally put the former pornstar in. Well it wasn’t so much a coat as it was a red pinstripe tails suit jacket. Now it was a color that everyone in hell knew most called it radio red.
“Angel!” Angel lifted his sunglasses before he ran towards Lav.
“Lav baby! It has been too long!” The spider cried wrapping both sets of arms around his friend.
“I know honey. But that will be remedied. The dressing room is back there, go get ready I’ll be back in a moment.” Angel nodded before walking off swinging his hips.
Once Angel was gone Lav turned back to Valor, “Now do you get it.”
“Okay so he’s fucking the radio demon so what?” Alright, perhaps the kid was the dimmest of bulbs. Rolling her eyes Lav jerked her head towards the shadows.
“Tell me what you see.” Shadow was not trying to hide himself in his dark little corner of the studio. His red eyes scanned the room before he slipped through the shadows to kept watch outside of the dressing room.
“Holy shit.” Now he got it.
“Look kid you so much as look at Angel wrong and boom you’re lunch.” Patting his cheek she stalked back to the dressing room. She nodded at Shadow before entering the room. Angel sure kept hell interesting.
