Chapter Text
Master Clive,
I trust this missive finds you in good health and high spirits. I write to inform you that I have come across a passage of great significance within the notes left behind by your late brother.
In these pages, he speaks of our land and its connection to the Mothercrystals prior to their ruin. He muses on the great Moss' teachings, how this divine illumination once guided our forebears out of the darkness, and yet, paradoxically, how it stirred in them the allure of temptation that which beckoned them into the shadows anew.
It appears to me that your brother was in the process of crafting a book: a work of profound insight into the nature of our world and the intricacies of its peoples, cultures, and faiths. Whilst I have previously touched on his promise as a historian, now, having read the full breadth of his notes, I am convinced that he would have been an extraordinary one. The passion and clarity of thought evident in his writings are remarkable, and I believe his story has the potential to leave an indelible mark on our understanding of Valisthea's history.
As I recall our conversation, wherein I bestowed upon you my stolas quill, I am reminded of my fervent wish for you. Your brother's untimely passing during the battle at Origin is an enduring sorrow that weighs heavily on your soul. So I urge you, my dear friend, to delve deeper into his writings, that they might not only shed light on his journey but also offer you a piece of his spirit that can never truly be extinguished.
Should you require any assistance or guidance in this endeavour, do not hesitate to summon me. I stand ready to aid you in any way possible.
With warmest regards,
Harpocrates II Hyperboreos
Loresman Harpocrates,
Thank you for bringing to light my brother's endeavour. When the need arises, I will not hesitate to seek your counsel. Your wisdom has been invaluable to me, and I am fortunate to consider you a friend and mentor.
Forgive me for the brevity of my letter, but I shall arrive at the hideaway anon where we might discuss his notes in further detail.
Sincerely,
Clive Rosfield
