Summary
Clive, an aspiring fight choreographer and performer, and Gav, his partner, have finally been allotted the main stage spot at the Rosalith Renaissance Faire for their comedic duo characters "Lord Underhill and Overfoot." It comes with not only more exposure and opportunities for tips, but the hope that all their work might finally be paying off. When an old friend Rodney asks for a favor, the situation is too perfect for Clive to pass up, unknowingly setting him on a path that will force him to confront his past, present, and future while questioning the nature of love, worth, and fulfillment.
Jill, a nomadic jewelry maker and historical rapier enthusiast, along with her business partner and friend Tarja have been travelling together since they first left high school. When she runs into an old friend in need after almost seven years on the road, she decides she must help. Jill has always looked ahead to the journey, but as the consequences of her actions unfold, she finds herself finally considering her destination.
None of this is made any less complicated when Clive and Jill's trajectories collide.

Pairs figure skater Clive Rosfield has watched his entire life fall apart for the second (third? fourth?) time after Benedikta Harman abruptly ends their partnership in the middle of a competition, six months before the 874 Chronolith Trials. What he doesn't expect is a third (fourth? fifth?) chance at the Trials, in the form of his childhood friend, Jill Warrick, who bears her own scars. Together, with the help of legendary coach Cid Telamon, they are going to finish things on their own terms. They only have four years to do it.
And by then, the whole world will be watching.

But competition isn't all he finds in the city of angels; his childhood friend (and crush) Jill Warrick is competing too. Not only are Clive's Olympic dreams on the line, but so are the dreams he's harbored since the last time he saw Jill, even though he doesn't feel at all worthy of her. Gold isn't all he's hopeful for now.

In annual midsummer do the three great nations of Storm hold the Triunity Faire, a festival of merriment and mummery, of fledgling nobles in intimate step of both ballroom dance and tourney wrought steel. For the first since war's end with Rosaria, the North has been invited back into the fold, tasked with hosting their stately southern neighbors in lands yet caught by wintry chill.
The true purpose of the Faire has long been for the High Houses to court potential matches for their sons and daughters, and for Jill, Princess of the North, and Clive, Lord Marquess of Rosaria, this means enduring myriad attempted betrothals. Both dread attending and firmly believe that falling in love is an impossibility.
Under the moonlight, their resolve will be tested.
