Work Text:

"Order up!"

Hearing the bell on the window being tapped, Eijun headed over to take the plates of food. He checked the order number before placing them one by one onto his tray, taking them out to the proper table, where a group of teenagers from the local high school were sitting. They were regulars who frequented the restaurant Eijun worked at, and apparently he was their favorite server, because every time he was their waiter-

"You really should come to karaoke with us tonight!"

"Yeah come on Sawamura, it'll be fun!"

Laughing nervously, Eijun set the plates down in front of the proper customers. "Sorry guys, I'm watching a movie with my roommates tonight," he said, setting down a pile of napkins in the middle of the table. "Rain check?"

"That's what you always say."

"If I didn't know better, I'd say you were afraid to sing in front of us."

Smiling, Eijun swung his tray down at his side. "I just don't need you all swooning over me," he responded as he turned back toward the kitchen. "God knows I get enough of that at home," Eijun added under his breath. He walked back toward the kitchen and pushed open the staff door, setting his tray down on the counter. Glancing up at the clock, he realized he still had another half-hour on his shift.

Grunting in disproval, he backed his butt up against the counter and hopped back up on it, swinging his legs back and forth like a kid in a high chair. He began humming to himself, trying to distract from the soreness of his body from practice earlier, and he rubbed at his shoulder to try and ease the pain. "I should have listened to dad and gone into the family business," he mumbled.

"Oh sure, that sounds like it would have a smash."

"Oh haha, very funny Miyuki."

He turned to see Miyuki watching him, one hand leaning against the counter, while the other brushed his bangs back out of his face. Eijun could count the beads of sweat dripping down his forehead, caused by the heat of working over an open flame. "If you're just gonna stand there criticizing my life choices, why don't you bake some more biscuits for table three," he said, nodding toward the raw dough sitting on the other side of the counter.

Miyuki laughed, starting up that cheeky grin of his when he thought he was being clever. Which was ninety percent of the time. "I'll bake your biscuits," he said, stepping closer to Eijun until he was wedged between the waiter's knees.

"Oh my- what does that even- disgusting. You-you are disgusting, you know that?"

"You love it."

"I'd rather watch wrestling with Kuramochi than listen to you make another terrible pun."

Miyuki held a hand to his chest, feigning shock. "You wound me, Sawamura. Truly, unbelievably deeply. I can feel it, right there. Yup." He took Eijun's hand in his own, and brought it to his chest. "Right there, you feel that? You did it, it's all your fault."

Eijun rolled his eyes as he felt the steadily increasing beat of Miyuki's heart. "That's just your heart, you idiot," he said, looking into Miyuki's eyes. But the look he saw there wasn't his usual, cocky, teasing expression. It was the one the Miyuki really only gave Eijun: one so heartfelt and honest that it made Eijun's chest tighten...

"Yeah, that's my heartbeat. And you know what?"

"What?"

"Like a drum, baby, don't stop beating-"

"Huh?"

"Like a drum, baby, don't stop beating-"

"Oh my god we are so not doing this-"

Miyuki began banging on the counter, ignoring the strange looks he was receiving from the other employees in the back with them. "Like a drum, baby, don't stop be-agphmf-"Eijun tried to cover Miyuki's mouth but all the idiot had to do was step back from Eijun until he was out of reach. So Eijun did the next best thing: cover his own face to hide the embarrassment while Miyuki continued to sing.

"Like a drum my heart never stops beating..."

For a moment Miyuki stopped, and Eijun felt brave enough to uncover his face. But as soon as he did, Miyuki took the opportunity to grab his hands and pull him off the counter. One hand slipped around Eijun's back while the other intertwined with Eijun's fingers.

"For youuu, for youuu!" He spun Eijun around the kitchen, as the chefs and waiters avoided them with ease as if it were something normal. Which unfortunately for Eijun, it was. "Baby, I'm not moving on, I'll love you long after you're gone!"

He spun Eijun around the kitchen, as the chefs and waiters avoided them with ease as if it were something normal. Which unfortunately for Eijun, it was. There were a few collective shouts of "shut up!" and "get back to work!" but Miyuki didn't seem to really care all that much as he spun him back around with a 180 flip.

"For youuu, for youu!" He continued to sing slightly off key as he led Eijun back toward the dining hall. "You will never sleep alone, I'll love you long after you're gone!" He pushed open the doors and nudged Eijun through them, only keeping them open long enough to quietly whisper one last verse.

"I'll love you long after you're gone, gone, gone." And with that, the doors swing shut, and he could hear cheering and banging coming from behind the doors. Eijun could feel the heat rising in his face from... whatever just happened.

"You.. skipped a ver- never mind..."

How ridiculously sappy had Miyuki gotten just then? Geez, he was normally really cheesy, sure, but that was a bit- oh god.

He put his head in his heads and walked over to the corner of the restaurant so he could bang his head against the wall. "I'll I did was hum," he whispered, slightly tapping his head on the wall. "It was only humming!"

Taking another minute to compose himself, he left his corner of embarrassment when he heard the hostess flag him down. "That's it," he said, heading toward his last table of the night. "I'm getting my vocal cords removed."

Turning the key in the lock, Eijun turned the knob and pushed open the door, only to be tackled to the ground once he took a step inside.

"Oh my god!"

"Nope! Just me!"

"Senpai I think you broke my freaking kidney!"

"Kyahaha! You should have been prepared, Bakamura!"

Eijun struggled to flip around under the weight of Kuramochi, but once he got a knee in the guy's stomach, it became fairly easy to flip their positions. Kuramochi clutched where Eijun's knee made contact, and Eijun let loose a small laugh. "Shoulda been prepared, senpai."

Now that their positions were reversed, Eijun smiled as he watched Kuramochi suffer under his weight. "That's karma for you!" Kuramochi mocked his voice beneath him and Eijun laughed. "Alright well, I'm gonna go take a shower before Miyuki catches up."

Kuramochi looked behind Eijun, as if he hadn't thought to consider Miyuki was back as well. "Right. Where is the megane bastard? I thought you got off at the same time?" Grinning, Eijun put his forehead against Kuramochi's chest.

"Our little tanuki had to stay a little late and clean up as punishment for starting up a concert in the back while on shift."

"Agh, he sang, didn't he?"

"Oh yeah."

"Please tell me it was at least some good rock music or something."

"Nah, it was cheesy as hell though."

Kuramochi lifted his head to face Eijun. "Are you calling rock cheesy? Because I swear-"

"That it is the cheesiest form of music aside from pop boy bands? Because it is."

Flicking him on the head, Kuramochi grabbed Eijun by the waist and pulled him forward. He wrapped his leg around Eijun and flipped him over once more, until he was on top again. When Eijun's shoulder hit the floor, he winced a bit, and of course Kuramochi picked up on that.

"Is your shoulder sore from pitching?"

Reluctantly, Eijun nodded. "Normally it's fine but, on days when I have work afterwords and have to carry trays of food all afternoon... it gets a bit rough," he admitted, and Kuramochi watched him with a curious gaze.

Sitting up, Kuramochi began to straddle Eijun, his knees on each side of him. Before Eijun could protest, he places his hands on his left shoulder, and began pushing it into the floor. "O-Ow, Kuramochi-senpai, that really hurts- good. T-That hurts good that hurts so good, please don't stop."

Kuramochi laughed as he massaged Eijun's shoulder. "A bit masochistic there, Sawamura? I'll remember that." Smiling as he felt Kuramochi's fingers dig into his arm, Eijun simply shook his head.

"You're hilarious. You know what I mean."

He basked in the glory of having Kuramochi work magic on his shoulder before he tapped him on the side. "Thanks senpai, but I need to get in the shower before Miyuki gets back and uses all the hot water."

Grunting while Eijun shoved him off, Kuramochi rolled off to the side before standing up. He held his hand out to Eijun and helped him up. "Fine. But do me a favor and leave him no hot water. Like, at all."

Eijun smiled. "Will do."

It felt so good to be back under water. Eijun let it run down his skin, not caring how long he'd been in there, just standing under the shower head. If he ever said that a hot shower after a long day wasn't the best thing ever, he was definitely lying. Screw yoga, this was the most relaxing thing a person could do.

And with him being so relaxed under the water, there was only one thing he had the urge to do...

"He said, let's get out of this town, drive out of the city, away from the crowds."

Eijun ran his hands through his hair, rinsing out the last remnants of soap as he finally released his voice.

"I thought heaven can't help me now. Nothing lasts forever, but this is gonna take me down."

Not having been able to sing, to truly let out his voice in so long... He had been keeping his primal urge forced down, and once he'd let it out...

"He's so tall and handsome as hell. He's so bad but he does it so well. I can see the end as it begins. My one condition is."

It was so calming to sing, especially after having gone so long without doing so. Eijun had almost forgotten the thrill of it, and the way his voice echoed around the small bathroom...

"Say you'll remember me standing in a nice dress, staring at the sunset, babe."

It was the best sensation someone like Eijun could experience, and he wanted to feel more of it. Yet there was something itching at the back of his head... Like he was forgetting something...

"Red lips and rosy cheeks. Say you'll see me again, even if it's just in your wiiildest dreeeams, aaahh."

There was definitely something off about all this, even though it felt right, there was just something...

"Wiiildest dreeeams, aaaAAAAH HOLY SH-"

Eijun screamed when he felt someone grab his hip, pulling him out of his own trance. Almost slipping and falling out of the shower, he managed to steady himself- by grabbing the shoulders of the two trespassers in his shower.

"What the- Miyuki? Kuramochi?"

He glanced between the two of them, and noticed the glazed over look in both their eyes. "Oh for the love of-" why did he have to sing? Him simply humming had turned Miyuki into freaking Casanova, but actual singing had turned them into full on sex-crazed idiots. Eijun hadn't even heard Miyuki come home... then again if he was in the middle of a song, there wasn't much he would notice.

But his two roommates standing in their very small shower, completely naked, was definitely something that didn't miss his eye. "Okay um you two need to go put on some pants."

Before any of them slipped and hurt themselves, Eijun shut off the water and stepped out, completely circling around the two entranced idiots standing in the bathroom. He found their clothes pile in the middle of the floor by the couch, and when he bent over to pick up their pants, he felt a hand sliding down his back.

"Alright, if you wanna keep that hand, you'll take it off my ass."

He stood up only to be pulled back into... Miyuki's chest by the feel of it. Now, normally Eijun would be all for happy-fun times with the boys but... if it was because they were entranced by his voice then it felt kind of wrong and "which of you two just bit me?!"

"Come on, Eijun."

"Oi, Miyuki that's-"

"Let's move to the bedroom."

"Kuramochi, that's not a good- get your hand off my junk before I rip it off." The hand that snaked around his waist pulled back, though only for a moment. "Why not? I thought you'd want it, I mean... you sang for us."

Eijun was ten seconds from locking them both in the bedroom for the night. "It wasn't for you, senpai, I was just singing. Like Miyuki earlier today," he added quietly.

"Hmm... we'll hammer out the details later," said Miyuki, as he let his hand trail down Eijun's chest. A small moan escaped his mouth and he saw Miyuki and Kuramochi visibly stiffen.

He shook his head and took two steps back. "No no no, that was a moan, not a hum." Oh he was so dead. He was so, so dead. He was going to die... if one can die from sex, that is. Next time, he was going to listen to his dad when he suggested going into the family business of ship-wrecking people with their songs.

But it looked like he'd have to put that on hold until tomorrow, after the affects of his song wore off. Eijun was then going to take his life as a siren seriously and actually serve the purpose for which his breed was created, so long as it saved his sanity... and body, from his two lovers.

"Seriously though, remind me to remove my vocal cords."
