A Series of Omakes for Commander Citrine

Summary:

An Omake series of snippets of the main story

Chapter 1: Citrine Gets Caught Dancing

Chapter Text

Homeworld

After another exhausting round of giving an in-depth report to Yellow Diamond, Tanya was given a grace period in her private domicile near Yellow Diamond’s office. It wasn’t much, but it Allowed Tanya to unwind and relax; with pep in her steps, Tanya had her hands clasped behind her back as she marched herself into her quarters, walking behind her was Orange Pearl trailing behind.

The reason for Tanya’s good mood today, was the fact that Yellow Diamond gave her a day of rest…that is to say, her superior had given her the order of being on standby for a good amount of the planet’s rotation; that was, give or take, the equivalent of forty eight hours on Earth.

Right as Tanya entered her Domicile, she could not help but preen and chuff with excitement, “Heh!” she made a mirthful sound escape her lips, before she giggled in excitement and began twirling around in a circle across the floor like a ballerina with her arms out wide, then pulled them in to twirl faster.

With a celebrity lunge, Tanya leaped daintily across the floor and landed gracefully back down and continued to laugh to herself. “Um…” Her Pearl tried to get her attention with a shy look given at how well her Citrine was dancing.

Tanya continued to twirl and dance with a few dainty steps in between her celebratory ballerina-esque dance, “Can you believe it Pearl!?” She sang out while she continued to dance by herself. “One rotation free until the next assignment!” Tanya giggled to herself.

“That’s…” Her Pearl tried to get her attention while subtlety looking up behind her to their extra witness to Tanya’s rather beautiful dance.

“Think of all the things I can do in my free time!” Tanya gushed while she twirled on one foot and tucked her other leg up to spin faster, and stopped to face her Pearl with an excited expression…only to drop what she was doing and give an embarrassed look at the second audience member of her little impromptu dance.

As fast as she could, Tanya straightened up and made the Diamond Salute, “My Diamond…p-p-pardon my behavior…” She tried to explain to a bemused looking Yellow Diamond.

Said Diamond had her fingers clasped on her chin in thought while resting her elbow in her hand in a gesture of thought, “Oh…carry on, my little Citrine.” she mused with chuffed expression at her embarrassed Citrine gem, “Perhaps I should see if you’d make a good duet dance with my Pearl in one of her songs she sings for me.” Yellow Diamond mused.

While Tanya had the grace to try and explain herself at being caught red handed in acting such a way.

Orange Pearl however had objections to Yellow Diamond's suggestion, but didn't voice them but did think them. “Over my cracked gem! If anyone’s going to dance with my Citrine. It’ll be me!” Orange Pearl thought to herself with blushing cheeks, and thought back to how well her Citrine could dance in such a way

Chapter 2: The Great Orange Pearl Rebellion

Chapter Text

"Pearl! what have you done!" Tanya yells in worry and sadness in the turn of events of her Orange Pearl Rising up in such a fashion. She's not against it, but she couldn't let things happen like they did on Earth...corruption.

"I have secured a war for a future for our love! no longer shall someone steal you from me!" Orange Pearl defended herself

"Pearl!" Tanya barated O.Pearl from opposite of her, "My Allegiance is to the stable Diamond Authority, not this unstable socialism uprising!"

"From my point of view, the Authority is the unstable one! They are in the way of our relationship!" Orange Pearl protested back

"Then you really are lost if you think Communism can work after overthrowing the current ruling authority!" Tanya yelled back vehemently

Chapter 3: Steven Universe Future | Homeworld Election

Chapter Text

Homeworld

As Steven enters the Diamonds' palace where he once held a ball in an attempt to talk to White diamond, he could see in the distance where two Quartz gems talk about an upcoming election, while an Aubergine Pearl gives a tour to a group of Gems in the background. Steven could see three holoprojections of the electoral candidates.

From the Jasper on the right of the conversation, she has her fists on her hips in disapproval. “I can't believe half of Homeworld gems are gonna vote for that Diamond stooge, Zircon.” she bemoans in disappointment, before smiling and gesturing to the other image of a blue Zircon. “Now Zircon, that’s a face you can trust!” she boasts.

“Are you kidding me!” another Quartz gem says, as she interjects in on the conversation, it was a Rose Quartz gem, one of the many former Hoplite gems that was ‘rescued’ and brought into Citrine’s service rather than be stuck in a bubble for more than four thousand years if her Citrine hadn’t protested as much to Yellow Diamond in such a convincing manner and provided so many cons to release her and her fellow sisters into her armada.

The Rose Quartz gem preceded to gesture at Tanya’s image, “forget those two, now Citrine, that’s a leader that knows what she’s doing!” she gushed, “Most of the colonies support her.” she chided the other two quartz gems, “You homeworld gems seem to forget often that the colonies count as well.”

Meanwhile with Steven, he shrugged to himself, “huh, that’s why she’s disappeared for a while.” he mused.

Elsewhere on homeworld where Tanya was discussing politics with Orange Pearl, and reasons why she needs to make sure Homeworld and its colonies become a stable democracy, she couldn’t help but panic inwardly. “Blast it! I was only explaining how a democratic system works, I didn’t realize it’d lead to me throwing my hat in the ring…okay, relax, at least I emphasized that a democracy is held up by a term limit leader.” She thinks to herself, not realizing that a set time year limit was not fully discussed, which would lead to a hundred year term limit later on.

Chapter 4: A misunderstanding

Chapter Text

In some alternate timeline, Steven tries to stop Citrine from ruling the galaxy...though the information was given from mixed messages through the gossip grape vine of gems throughout the once great Diamond Empire. What Citrine!Tanya was in fact doing, was consolidating every gem Colony together, so that warlords wouldn't arise from the once ruling class of noble gems. Her end goal was in fact conquering the colonies into one government force, and install a republic democracy after reorganizing the outer and inner gem colonies into the Milky Way's first Galactic Republic.

After wards, after makinh sure the government was stable and would event Earth in anyway, she'd retired to Earth and finally relax in the safety in the knowledge that the splintered Gem colonies were brought together and wouldn't cause any ripple effect with infighting wars amongst themselves and end up involving Earth in their petty squables.

Homeworld

Steven rushed through the hallways after he confronted the Diamond on what was really going on with Citrine, and all they ever did was appreciate how well Yellow's Citrine commander was helping homeworld and its many colonies; He thought he had made sure to make the Diamond's realize what they were doing was wrong, but now it was Yellow's Citrine that seemed to pick up where they left off and continued in their conquest of the galaxy.

As Steven continued to run towards the newly made 'senate' auditorum commission by Commander Citrine with dozens of Bismuths constructing such a thing, he could hear the ongoing discussion of heard to understand topics of 'government' and 'elections'. He wasn't sure what it meant, he supposed he should have gone to school like Connie said.

Kicking the doors open with his strength amplified by his gemstone, Steven stormed in with a concerned look on his face as he stepped forward, only to find himself the center of attention of various gems in a large circular autiroum, with Citrine at the Center next to a podium. "...uh..." he uttered, unsure to continue from here.

Citrine gestured towards Steven, "Ah, Steven, just the human-gem Hybrid we've been discussing about." she said while pulling up a datapad, "We were just talking about honoring you as the founder of dismantling the Empire, and allowing the Republic to form."

"What?" Steven was puzzled, not sure what was going on, "Aren't you...uh...wait...you're not forming your own empire?" he asked.

Citrine blinked back her own puzzled expression, "Steven, what gave you the idea I was doing something like that? I'm consolidating the colonies to form the first Gem Republic of the Galaxy, an electoral establishment that'll allow all gems to have a say in the matter."

"...hehe..." Steven laughed nervously as he rubbed his head in embarrassment, "Oh...you know, there were rumors you were conquering colonies to make your own empire..." he guessed.

Citrine glowered at Steven, "Baseless accusations, I assure you Steven." she responded with a distasteful look on her face, "And Besides, even if I wanted to make my own empire, that's too much delegating and micromanaging on my mind, there's a reason the Diamond Authority was handled by more than one Diamond, it's too much for one being to manage." she deadpanned at Steven with an exhausted look in her eyes. "And even then, they delegated their planets to high ranking officials within their courts."

"Right..." Steven said with a nervous smile, "Sorry, my bad, seems I misunderstood the situation..."

Citrine rolled her eyes, "Obviously." she sighed in minor annoyance.

Chapter 5: Death Star rip-off

Chapter Text

Situated within a conference room of Hessonites a Emeralds, Yellow Diamond's Citrine commander is seen march in with her pearl close behind her. "I'd apologize for the holdup." she uttered out in exhaustion with her cape flapping behind her on her shoulders as she stormed her way around the conference table, "But I've had to deal with a long discussion on why we've been slow in the development of our new super weapon to Yellow Diamond."

The Gems glanced at each other, while the projection of a large moon-like super weapon was displayed at the center of the table they sat at, a holoprojecter showed the super-weapon slowly turning to show all of its unique properties. Most of the peridots were aware of how long the talks between their Citrine commander and Yellow Diamond tended to drag on for, but that's per the usual with how she has to discuss with her yellow Diamond of all that's been going on between periodical reports.

Some gossiped that they swore they heard Yellow Diamond ask of Citrine's well being, but that was hearsay if anything. No way a diamond would be that emotionally attached to one of their gems, regardless of how personally well she made her gem. it's unprecedented to say the least.

Back to the matter at hand. one of the Hessonites stood up and smiled as she reported their latest completed project that took quite a hefty sum of resources and time to create. "Well, seeing as you are here, we can now discuss how easy it will be, now that we'll have the destabilizer moon working at full capacity and in working order now."

As Citrine stood next to her chair she would have sat in, she kept standing as she faced the hessonites and emeralds under her command. "oh? you think a weapon such as the one we are on will work so easily against anymore rebels in the future?" she asked with a raised eyebrow.

Another Hessonite slammed her fist down and smirked at her commander with confidence, "Exactly! With the existential threat that is the DeathStar Destabilizer moon, no longer shall any more traitorous gem think of trying to rebel! The fear this weapon stand for, will cease anymore thoughts of anyone within the caste to never again think of raising a flag against the Diamond Authority!"

As Citrine glanced between the gems under her command, she leaned forward and placed her hands on the table to lean on it more. "And you all believe this...super weapon will be the best deterrent for any more rebellions?" she question with an odd and dangerous tone of voice.

The Emeralds and Hessonites glanced at each other once more, before an Emerald spoke up with an unsure tone, "Well, yeah! A super weapon such as the one we are on, should be more than enough to cause any gem to puase and think of every raising a rebellion once more."

"hmm." Citrine made a sound of musing, as she hummed in thought, her eyes glanced at the gems before her, "I'd say otherwise. while this completed project was made at the request by Yellow Diamond, I had tried to warn her of the wasted resources it put a drain on the empire, and the simple matter of a certain exhaust port that'll cause the whole project to be a blunder should a ship shoot its weaponry down it." Citrine warned.

"Well..." Began another Emerald with a nervous expression, "It's not like a rebel gem force would have the capabilities to send of squadron of ships to this super-weapon, and somehow by some miracle, shoot a torpedo down a tiny hole that is its exhaust port, and blow this entire project to smithereens."

"...." All as one, every gem save for Citrine blinked, before sweating in nervousness, "Um...we do have turrets to block and defend the exhaust port...right?" one of the Hessonites asked in panic mode.

"...I mean, it does, and we are capable of send out our own intercepters to intercede any attempts from any rebels..." Another Emerald uttered with a troubled look.

Citrine glanced between the gems with a disappointed frown, "Well, All I see around me, is wasted resources that could be potentially be blown up by a mere lucky shot into a small vent in this gemforsaken super-weapon." She groused with a snarl.

From Citrine's point of view, she could help but draw so much parallels with a certain movie. It was baffling how stupid it was that she found herself inside an near exact copy of the Death Star.

What's next, is she gonna have to force choke one of her Hessonites for disobiedance with her yellow lightning spark ability?

Chapter 6: I am your cousin!

Chapter Text

With the rest of the Crystal gems busy fighting her own team of close confidants and crew members, Tanya and Steven face off against each other after finishing a little skirmish between them; Steven with his shield, and her Saber sword respectively. Granted, Tanya didn't go for any dismemberment blows or anything deadly, otherwise she couldn't get the gem hybrid to come to her side of her arguement.

As Steven backs away in fear with his shield up on his arm, he narrowly stops himself from tripping on a ledge as he was cornered by the commander Citrine in front of him.

Tanya raised an arm and offered her hand out to Steven, "Enough of this, Join Me Steven! Together, we can secure a better future for the Gem Empire and all life on earth!"

Steven glares over at the Citrine in front of him, as he clings to the nearby railing. "Never! I'll never join you!"

Tanya smiles a rather evil smile, "But Steven, Don't you want to know who your mom really is, it could help us together in stopping the diamonds!" she challenged him

Steven frowned, "What, wait, what do you mean?" he asked, "What do you know about my mother that I don't know?"

"Steven..." Tanya began to say with an ominous tone, her hand still out as an offering of peace between them, "Your mother was not simply Rose Quartz...she was Pink Diamond!"

Steven shook his head and his lips twitched in denial, "No...that's not true...that's impossible!" he denied.

Tanya stepped forward with a sly smile, "Search your feelings, your memories Steven! You know it to be true! With Pink Diamond your mom, and Yellow Diamond as my progenitor, that essentially makes us cousins!" she challenged back.

Steven thought inwardly, then things began to make sense from the recent memories he's been dreaming. "No! no...no!!!!" Steven cried out.

"Join me Steven!" Tanya urged the gem hybrid, "Together, we can save the Earth!"

"...Wait what?" Steven stopped being in denial, and blinked curiously at the Citrine before him, "You mean....you're not out to conquer earth!?" he Questioned the Citrine commander.

"Of course not!" Tanya glared at Steven, "How else will I finally get some vacation time and finally enjoy some Earth Coffee?"

"...So that's why the news was talking about aliens abducting coffee bean farmers..." Steven murmured.

"...My gems under my command can get a bit overzealous for me." Tanya nervously chuckled.

Chapter 7: Rose and Citrine face off against each other

Chapter Text

Earth, Galaxy Warp

It was supposed to be just a simple check on the cluster within the Earth and see if they could repair the galaxy warp, what Tanya did not expect was for any remnants of Rose Quartz’s crystal gems to show up and confront them; thus without any fanfare between the opposing parties, a fight broke out between Tanya and her Pearl against Rose and her pearl, along with Skinny and Jasper against a rather short Amethyst gem and a fusion of sorts that called herself a Garnet.

As Tanya wielded her gem saber out from her gem, it emitted out small yellow sparks as she clashed against Rose’s sword as she fought against Tanya; Both opponents stared into each other’s eyes with equal determination to win the fight as they clashed their weapons against the other. Rose raised her shield to block a blow from another of Tanya’s swings of her saber, in the heat of the moment, Orange Pearl leapt from over Tanya’s shoulder with a spear and shield in hand, before aiming a stab of her spear at Rose’s body.

“Raagh!” Pearl yelled as she leapt over Rose’s shoulder to meet the other Pearl, Orange Pearl raised her small shield to deflect the attack away as they both leapt away out of the air from each other, and lunged back in to attack the other while Rose and Tanya continued their heated little match against each other.

Over with Garnet and Amethyst of the Crystal gems, and Jasper and Skinny of Commander Citrine’s forces, all four gems were doing their best to work in tandem in teamwork as both sides clashed against each other. With some advice from their commander Citrine to not get too full of themselves, more specifically Jasper, both Quartz gems from the Beta Kindergarten had long since worked out their differences and fought in sync As Jasper used her overwhelming strength via her fist instead of simply her helmet to fight alongside Skinny and her Pole-Axe.

Clangs and bangs echoed off as Garnet and Jasper used their fists to block and punch the other, while Jasper would occasionally use her gemstone helmet to throw in a headbash into the fusion’s own head, only to miss as the fusion using a certain ability of hers to foresee some of the moves as best as she could in the heated fight between them.

It was a different story for the off-color gems on the other hand, Skinny felt conflicted fighting an Amethyst from the same Kindergarten as her fellow Amethysts over at Pink Diamond’s human zoo. Amethyst felt conflicted fighting a rather uncanny vibe she felt from fighting an off-color gem like her, as if she was fighting a sister of a large family.

All in all, the area was filled with the cacophony of gem weapons clashing once more on Earth, only on a much smaller scale compared to the five plus thousands of years ago.

Back with Tanya and Rose, while their pearls were busy fighting against each other, leaving both of them to themselves as they clashed their weapons against each other, Tanya gave a glowering look at Rose. “So…Rose…have you been having fun on Earth?” she spat in vehemence of the gem before her, as they clashed their weapons against each other once more.

As Rose raised her shield to block a blow from the familiar looking Citrine gem, she gritted her teeth in annoyance, “I don’t know what you’re talking about! Why couldn’t you guys just leave Earth alone!” she argued back. “We won!”

Tanya parried aside a blow from Rose’s sword with her saber, and moved to make a stab towards the Quartz’s Body, “I can hardly say you won.” Tanya spat back with a scathing look as Rose blocked the blow from her with her shield, “Where is everyone, Rose, shouldn’t there be a bigger response force than what you had back then?” Tanya snarled at the Gem before her. “Admit it, you lost the moment you shattered Pink Diamond.” she began to smile a rather fiendish grin.

Unaware of what to expect next as the Rose was pushed back in their power struggle as they clashed their weapons against each other once more, Tanya leaned in to whisper into Rose’s ear. “Admit it…Pink Diamond.” Rose’s eyes dilated in fear at being called out, and before she could form a rebuttal of denial, the Citrine commander continued to whisper into her ear, “Because of your attempt to make it seem like you were shattered by your alter ego, you left the other diamonds with no other choice. Blue Diamond is wrought with grief, Yellow Diamond doesn’t want to admit her grief thus she drowns herself in work.”

Tanya would have said more about how White Diamond probably knows that Pink was never shattered, but she didn’t need to say anymore words, as Rose stumbled backwards in despair, “you lie.”

“Rose!” her Pearl yelled as she leapt away from Orange Pearl, and moved to defend her former Diamond. “What did she do, are you okay?” she fretted.

As Tanya stepped back a bit with a smug smile of mirth, Orange Pearl leapt over as while to stand beside her Citrine and await her next orders. As if feeling the atmosphere as well, Garnet and Amethyst retreated from their fight to come to Rose’s aid, while Jasper and Skinny formed up with their commander Citrine. Tanya on the other hand felt rather satisfied at looking at Rose’s face. “Face it Rose…your rebellion was a failure the moment you took a drastic action, and all that’s left is what stands before me.”

Rose gripped her sword and shield, unsure what to do now; Tanya however felt the satisfaction of finally dropping the ball to subject matter she had been researching on for the last few centuries in her spare time. “Are you familiar with the phrase…parlay?” Tanya inquired, after a few more moments of silence passed.

After another moment of silence passed, Rose slowly nodded. “What do you have in mind?” she inquired.

“Have both of our forces retreat, while we have a nice long chat of why your rebellion failed, and how far reaching effects it caused on the Diamond Authority.” Tanya bargained with Rose quartz.

While the Crystal gems began to protest their refusal to leave Rose alone, Tanya’s own forces knew their commander Citrine could handle herself; but the only question is, why she wanted to parlay with a rebel scum, especially one that shattered a Diamond of all beings.

“Will you leave Earth...If I agree?” Rose asked Tanya with a hesitant look in her eyes.

Tanya sighed for the first time with a rather annoyed breath.“Oh, it’s not up to me to leave Earth alone, after all…you have a certain geo-weapon that’ll destroy the Earth…”

Rose’s eyes widened, as did the other Crystal gems, “What!” all of them chorused.

Chapter 8: Episode 1 appearance

Chapter Text

“Citrine!” Steven said with an urgent tone as he walked into her Coffee Shop, co-owned by another pearl that was orange in color and looked different compared to the Pearl he knew back at home, “You gotta help me!”

Looking up from the countertop as she stood beside the cash register, Citrine let out a curious hum of thought. “You seem rather excited…” Citrine noted while in the back Steven could see Orange Pearl carrying a sack of coffee beans from one end to the other. “What’s got you coming to my shop all of a sudden?” Citrine asked as she leaned forward with her arms crossed and elbows resting on the countertop, her expression was that of simple curiosity.

Steven has always known Citrine to work at the coffee shop with Orange Pearl, and the furthest thing he’s known about Citrine was that she knew and aided his mom during some tough times; the other gems visit her sometimes, but Citrine never goes out of her way to help them defeat gem monsters unless Garnet goes out of her way to ask Citrine for her and Orange Pearl’s help…usually its for the more difficult monsters.

“It’s my gem!” Steven said as he lift his shirt up to show the gem where a human belly button would have been, “It glowed while I was eating ice cream.” he continued to talk with Citrine while dropping his shirt back down, “And I was wondering if you could help me understand how to work my gem powers.”

“Hmm.” Citrine tapped the counter in thought with a raised eyebrow, “It’s not like I can help you understand how to work your own powers, your mom’s powers were vastly different compared to other gems.” Citrine discussed with Steven.

“Well…” Steven rubbed the back of his neck, as he tried to think of something, “I already asked the other gems how they are able to use their powers, and I was hoping you’d help me too. Everyone else’s way of using their powers is a bit difficult to understand what they mean, and I was hoping you’d tell me how you use yours.”

“I doubt you’d be able to do things my way.” Citrine smirked with an amused expression, prompting Steven to frown in confusion.

“Why’s that?” Steven asked in curiosity.

Citrine stood up from the counter and crossed her arms, “I use advanced mathematics to properly use my powers, I highly doubt you’ve gone past fractions in your math lessons.”

Steven nervously laughed, before shaking it off to ask another question, “Well, what about my mom? How did she use her powers?” he inquired.

Citrine shrugged to herself, “Well…if I know your mom, and Trust me…I know some bits about her….” Citrine began to mutter to herself, before shaking her head, before continuing, “She was the kind of Gem that wanted to be happy, and for every other gem to be happy under her leadership.”

“Hmm…so, try and be happy?” Steven said to himself, before Citrine spoke up once more.

“That, or have happy thoughts, if that’s why your gem glowed while you ate ice cream.” Citrine deadpanned with a rueful smirk of amusement towards the Gem hybrid.

Steven’s eyes became stars from excitement, “Thanks Citrine!” he cheered, before rushing out of the coffee shop to try activating his powers under the watch of Garnet, Pearl and Amethyst.

Once Steven was out of sight, Orange Pearl stepped from out of the back. “How long do you think it’ll take for him to ask the real important question about his mom?” she asked with a worried look on her face.

Tanya sighed grumpily, unhappy that Pink diamond was able to assert her Diamond powers on her and the other pearls to keep her secret; no matter how hard she tried, she could not get the words to leave her lips. “Let’s just hope he’ll fix her mistakes.” she muttered with an annoyed look on her face.

“Oh cheer up!” Orange Pearl said as she smiled while offering Tanya a piping hot cup of coffee to her, “I made your favorite afterall.” she teased, at which Tanya let the teasing easily slide and accepted the cup with a satisfied smile.

Chapter 9: Too many emergency powers were given

Chapter Text

Within Pink Diamond’s ship

As the trip to Homeworld in a bid to get White Diamond to help uncorrupt the gems on Earth, Steven speaks up over to Yellow Diamond with an unsure expression, “Should I have brought a gift for White Diamond?” he asks, “We are dropping in unexpectedly, and... I want to make a good first impression. Her help will mean everything for the corrupted Gems.” Steven tried to reason with Yellow with his arms up a bit in an unsure gesture.

Pearl looks down over at Steven with a cautious expression, “Steven…” she cautioned.

Yellow Diamond, who was sitting on Steven’s left and resting her chin on her fist and her legs crossed, she glanced down over at the small Human-gem Hybrid. “Hmph. ‘Good impression’? We'll be lucky if she ever speaks to us again after this.” Yellow declared with a critical gaze in her eyes.

“But-” Steven tried to protest to Yellow Diamond, only for Blue Diamond to interrupt him with a nervous expression of her own as she sat to his right.

“The thing is, White... can be... difficult... “ Blue uttered with a downcast expression.

Yellow then spoke up afterwards, “When we show up in this ship, it will be irrefutable that the last 6,000 years are now the biggest galactic embarrassment that's ever happened. And we're the ones to blame. If you don't want to be in a bubble for the next few millennia, I suggest you let me do the talking.” The Yellow Matriarch Diamond warned Steven with a narrowed look down at the boy.

While Steven looks down with a nervous expression and rubbing his arm out of habit to calm himself, an awkward silence fills the room as Blue and Yellow Diamond look away in unrest. The ship engine then begins to whir as it exits out of warp speed.

Pearl speaks up, “Ahem... We're here... “ she says.

As Connie wakes up and yawns while rubbing an eye, “Really?” she simply asks.

While Garnet quickly stands up, Amethyst who was sleeping over the fusion’s legs, slipped and fell over from her legs. “Ughh! What- gives...?” Amethyst begins to questions, only to cease her ramblings when everyone is able to look out the ship’s window and see the Gem Homeworld; Any other time they’d all be silenced from the sight of Homeworld in its’ ‘splendor’, the sight now greets everyone aboard the ship silences everyone for a few seconds as it seems an entire armada is surrounding the planet.

A full scale assault was in session on homeworld, what was most troubling that it did not belong to any rebel force; the full scale armada and the unrest of explosions that can be seen on the surface on the planet from space, all of it was from a perpetrator that neither diamonds saw coming. As the ship hung listless in space to cease from landing during such an incursion on homeworld, Yellow Diamond stood up with sheer anger written all over her face. “What is the meaning of this!?” she shrieks.

As if answering her question, a holoscreen popped up in front of the windows, showing Yellow Diamond’s Citrine Gem commander. “Ah, you’ve finally come back.” she mused as explosions could be heard in the background on the other side of her call.

While Blue cupped her mouth in shock, Yellow clenched her fists in anger. “Explain yourself, Citrine!” she demanded.

With a wry smile, Citrine pulled up a datapad in her hand, and began scrolling through it to pull up several articles. “With Pleasure. My Diamond.” she relished as she began citing several clauses. “I am arresting White Diamond, under article fifteen dash three and article twenty dash four.” she answered.

Yellow Diamond’s eyes widened, now realizing it may have been her, but asked to be sure “But…who gave you the authority?” she questioned, “I don’t remember giving the proper codes and authority to you to enact this!”

Citrine smiled back at her Diamond, “Oh, but you did, you’ve been giving me so many emergency powers, the fact that you left for Earth gave me the clause of article three to be enacted, and utilize the full force of our military branch to put Martial law into effect on homeworld.” she explained with a satisfied expression, more explosions could be heard on her side of the call, in the background it could be seen that she was outside and the site of White Diamond head was under full assault.

As Yellow Diamond began to practically sweat as she realized her full blunder of putting so much responsibility onto her favorite Gem, she couldn’t tell if she should be angry or not; everything that her Citrine Gem was within reason of the clauses, and White did need to answer to many of her actions. “No.” Yellow Diamond spoke up, “I am now withdrawing the authority I have given you!” she denied. “I am now putting into effect clause twenty of article nineteen!” she tried.

Citrine smiled back demurely, “I’m afraid the emergency powers you gave me with article two, section three, dictates you can not withdraw the emergency powers till the target is apprehended, along with its faction.”

Yellow Diamond tried to think up another order. “Code omega, lambda, beta, alpha, thirteen! You are to cease all actions!” she tried with a panicked look on her face.

Citrine rebukes her order with a calming grin, “Nope, I’m afraid you’ve given me the emergency powers of zeta, theta, nine, ignore all orders until the identified threat to Homeworld is taken into custody and put in a trial.” she refutes back.

Yellow Diamond wilts with an astonished look on her face, and collapses into her chair, “What have I done? How many emergency powers Have I given you?” she questioned with a harrowed look.

While everyone was befuddled at what was going on, Blue Diamond looked over at her fellow Diamond Matriarch. “Yellow.” she spoke up with a worried expression, “I don’t understand, how could this have happened?”

Yellow tried to massage her forehead to stave off the aneurysm she was getting from understanding her blunder. “I…I turned over so much authority to my little Citrine, I didn’t think she’d do any of this in this kind of fashion.”

“I’ll give you coordinates for a landing zone that’s safe, My Diamond, I advise you to stay out of this until White Diamond is put into custody.” Citrine advised her Diamond, before the call was cut off, leaving the others to watch on from the view from space of the ongoing ‘civil war’ going on, on homeworld.

Homeworld Surface

Everyone aboard the ship, once it landed, exited out and rushed down a set of long stairs to make their way towards White Diamond’s head on the other side of where Pink Diamond’s ship landed. All around the surface of Homeworld, buildings were smoking from being hit by random destabilizer missiles, other buildings were either toppled or collapsed in on themselves. From White Diamond’s head white lasers were shot out in an attempt to put the rabble under control, only for barriers to be placed around them to cease any gems from being controlled.

While Yellow and Blue parted from the group to attempt to get their own courts under control and find a way to counter the incursion on homeworld, Steven, Connie, and the Crystal gems made a bee-line for White Diamond’s head. As they approached the Stairways leading up into the torso of White Diamond’s ship, an old Guard of gems with White appearance modifiers on to signify that they were in charge of guarding the way up to White’s throne, all of the guards were in chaos as Gems under the leadership of Yellow’s Citrine gem attacking them while Citrine herself could be seen far ahead and soon heading into the ship owned by White Diamond.

“Come on!” Steven shouted through the sounds of battle happening on homeworld around him, Connie, and the Crystal gems, “We gotta catch up with Citrine!”

Chapter 10: Orange Diamond

Chapter Text

An; honestly, this concept came first, before I decided on the idea of Tanya being Yellow's gem and being the forefront gem commander of Yellow Diamond's military

Homeworld

It’s been several centuries since Pink was shattered, or more accurately, eye witness accounts of her court seeing their Diamond being shattered with nothing left but shards of her Diamond upon being impaled by one of her Rose Quartz gems with a sword. Her sister Pink Diamond never came off as being that warranted such an action by some rebel gems, but Tanya supposed something had to give with how the Diamond authority treated their gems in a caste based society.

Looking up from her angular orange tinted desk, Tanya glances over to the window of her room; the expanse of homeworld could be seen with her left leg ship not far away for her to use to travel through space. Pink had her right leg ship, which completed the whole set of a large diamond ship. Looking back to her desk, her workstation of managing her gems and to a greater extent, gems of the entire Empire. Granted, she didn’t review all of their performances, that’s what she had her court of gems for, to lessen the load of doing peer reviews and understand what gems need to improve their work or face consequences.

Just as Tanya was about to return to finishing up on reviewing the reports of Blue Diamond’s court of gems that desperately needed reigning in, said Diamond of the Hour pinged her to a video call on her console on her desk. Tanya released a weary sigh and leaned forward to tap the nearby holo-screen to allow the call to connect. “Blue.” Tanya greeted with a groused tone, “Just the Diamond I was about to review her gems of their performance of the last century.” she greeted the Blue Matriarch.

On the other end of the two way video call, Blue Diamond greeted Tanya with a somber smile. “Orange.” she spoke softly, “I hope everything is alright on your end.”

Tanya raised an eyebrow at Blue’s inquiry of her wellbeing. “I’ve been more busy than usual, ever since…you know.” she said with a soft sigh, “It wouldn’t be so tiring if you’d at least get back to tending to your diamond duties, you know.”

Blue glanced to the side in shame, “I know, it’s just that…it’s just that I miss Pink so much, and Yellow barely wants to speak of the matter.” Blue Diamond spoke with a downtrodden tone, “Each time I try to at least get something done, the memory of Pink keeps popping up to the forefront of my mind.”

‘Why is it always me that she wants to cry a shoulder on? Is it because Pink and I came into existence at the same time, and share the same height?’ Tanya thought to herself, before speaking up to Blue. “She may be gone, but not forgotten.” she tried to cheer Blue Diamond upon, who looked at her questioningly. Tanya offered Blue a sympathetic smile, “The best you can do, in my opinion, is move on and treasure the memories you have of her.”

“What about her Rose Quartz gems, and Human Zoo?” Blue asked softly with, “They’re both hers, and I don’t want them to be rid of, and Yellow keeps saying to get rid of them.”

Tanya shook her head, “She’s just trying to cope in her own way, you have the same authority as her, right below White. What you want to do with Pink’s legacy, is your choice alone. But do us all a favor and come back to ruling your court, they’re getting out of hand.” she warned Blue with an exhausted look.

Blue Diamond sniffled before nodding in agreement, “I’ll try.” she said before smiling at Tanya, “Thank you Orange.” Blue remarked, with Tanya nodding back, before the call ended.

Tanya slumped forward on her chair, and as Orange Pearl entered through the hexagon double doorway of her room, her pearl spoke up. “I know that look.” Tanya’s pearl remarked as she walked in with her dataslate under her arm, “Blue Diamond called again?” she asked

“Again.” Tanya responded as she leaned back into her chair.

Chapter 11: Ashidon

Chapter Text

Citrine's private quarters

Tanya released a breath of relief as she finished up writing up her report for Yellow Diamond to read and review of her prior work, she leaned back in her chair and blew a strand of hair away from her face; glancing over where she saw her Pearl finish up filing a few digital records together, before heading towards the exit to transfer them over to the proper gems for further analysis.

Feeling a bit bold and mischievous, and memories of a certain domineering move women would do to lesser men or women, Tanya allowed a rather mischievous smile form across her face.

As Orange Pearl approached the panel of the doorway to key in the command for the doors to open, a shadow overtook her form, prompting her to turn around in curiosity towards her Citrine. "Did I forget something…my…Citrine…" She trailed off as her Citrine Commander was looking down at her with a salacious smile.

As her cheeks brightened an orange hue at how close her Citrine was so close to her with her fists on her hips, her commander wordlessly lifted her leg up and used it to prop it up against the wall beside her and block her from the doorway. "My Citrine!" Orange Pearl eeped in shyness and some other feelings rising in her chest.

With Tanya, she was enjoying being a bit cheeky and forward in performing an ashidon with her Pearl, "What do you think Pearl, enjoying the view?" She asked with a raised eyebrow as she used a free hand to pull Orange Pearl's chin up and direct her attention to her, "You enjoy watching me sleep, do you enjoy looking at my thighs too?" She asked with a smug look.

Orange Pearl's mind began to overheat, and before she knew it, she poofed from fainting and her gem fell. Tanya caught her Pearl's gem before it could fall to the floor, and pulled her leg back down. Tanya looked at her Pearl's gem within her palm with an amused smile. "I didn't think you'd go as far as to faint...I'll have to apologize later." Tanya said more to herself.

Chapter 12: Cleaning Orange Pearl's gem

Chapter Text

"Pearl!" Tanya hollers as she enters her private quarters with a towl and cleaning solution in hand, "I thought about returning the sentiment, and brought the cleaning supplies to make your gem shine!" She announced as she approached Orange Pearl's blush form, "Shall we start now or later?" Tanya asked with a spritz of the cleaning spray to emphasize her intent.

"My-my-my Citrine! How Lewd!" Orange Pearl squeaked out as she felt close to poofing from fainting at the thought of her Citrine shining her gem.

Tanya smirks as she steps forward, "Nonsense, you did me a favor and I should repay it!" She exclaimed, "Now hold still and poof so I can clean your gem!"

As Orange Pearl's face heated up more, she finally fainted and poofed from the mere thought of her Citrine caressing her Pearl gem and making her shine.

"Ah, good, I'm glad you'll allow me to return the favor!" Tanya mused with a soft smile as she picked up her Pearl's gem gently and began cleaning and shining it up.

Chapter 13: Hug and head pats for Spinel

Chapter Text

Tanya looks down a bit at Spinel, and back over at Pearl, who was gesturing for to go on, "So...you wish a hug from me as well?" she asked with a bemused expression.

Spinel giggled soflty, and wiped a stray tear from her eye, "It felt good when Pearl gave me one, and I'd like to try it with you!" she smiled somberly.

"hmm." Tanya hummed and took a knee and happened her arms out for Spinel to jump into, "Just so you know, I'm not that-" whatever Tanya was about to say next, was soon interrupted by Spinel tackling her to the ground, her arms wrapped around Tanya's body in a full body hug.

As Tanya blinked and came to terms that the Spinel gem was now developing a coping mechanism for her loss of Pink Diamond, she stood up while Spinel continued to hug her closely as her arms were wrapped her torso. "er..." Tanya hesitated, but then went for the kill with a head pat. "There there." Tanya allowed an embarrassed smile to form on her lips as she head patted Spinel's head while she was being hugged, "Um...Time heals all wounds."

All the while that this was going on, Orange Pearl couldn't help but feel she wanted a head pat next.

And for some reason, the though echoed across all pearls within the Diamond Empire, and for some reason felt they wanted to be validated with head pats

Chapter 14: Regent Blue Azurite

Chapter Text

Homeworld
Blue Diamond’s Palace

The sound of fierce and hurried click clack of heels echoed in the halls of Blue Diamond’s, A Blue Azurite could be seen storming her way to her Diamond’s private chambers; this gem in particular had near identical looks to her first life, but with a more feminine form, longer hair that was Midnight blue, and Blue shades on her skin and clothes, highlighting what Diamond created her. “Five hundred years of mourning, with little to no help, and she finally does something out of the blue” Azurite couldn’t help but sweatdrop at the pun within her thoughts as she made her way to her Diamond’s chambers.

With a datapad under her arm, Blue Azurite hoped she could finally get several authorizations signed off, now that her Diamond was momentarily out of her mourning; In fact, Azurite hoped Blue Diamond actually came back to managing her court, and finally reigned in the more rogue elements within her aristocrat gems. As she finally approached the doors to her Diamond’s chambers, Blue Azurite saw that she was not alone to stand and wait for her chance to talk with her Diamond.

Standing opposite of her, was Sodalite with a miffed expression; she glanced her way and smirked rather candidly, “Ah, Azurite.” Sodalite mused as she lifted her arm up to fix her monocle over her eye a bit, “Already heard word our Diamond returned, I see.” she remarked with a pleased expression.

Azurite let an annoyed sound escape her lips, “Please Tell me she didn’t go in there to return to grieve.” she responded while using her free hand to message her forehead.

Sodalite made an amused sound before answering, “Quite the opposite in fact! She just got back from a court session against a certain Pyrope.”

Azurite raised an eyebrow at that tidbit of information, “hm, I see.” she began to say while fixing her own specs over her eyes a bit, a nervous tic that followed her from her past life, “I’ve read the report on that, you were able to finally be deployed.” she mused.

Preening at the mention of being deployed since her last campaign on Earth, she decided to indulge the century year young gem a bit more on what went down on the planet of F78. Once Sodalite finished speaking, Azurite had her brow furrowed in thought; The campaign seemed a bit off, like it was orchestrated by a higher power rather than simply a Pyrope gem. “It’s far too simple for a single Gem to amass that kind of power for the gems to use for a rebellion…I can’t help but feel I’m missing the bigger picture in all this.” Azurite thought to herself.

The sound of the doors to Blue Diamond’s personal chambers finally opened, and standing at the center of the doorway was Blue pearl with her hands folded at her front: she face Sodalite and gave a polite bow, “My Diamond will see you now.” she softly spoke while still bowing, before standing back up to stand aside and let Sodalite in with her Misty Blue pearl staying outside to wait for her Sodalite to come back out.

Blue Pearl lifted her dress up a bit and gave another bow to Azurite next, “My Diamond will see you, once she is finished with Commander Sodalite, Regent Azurite.” she spoke again in her soft voice, before stepping back inside her Diamond’s chambers and allowed the doors to shut.

With Azurite, while Sodalite’s pearl was standing on the opposite side of the door as her, she mulled over a bit more on the case with the Pyrope gem. Breaking her out her thoughts, the sound of her pearl and the sight of her rushing her way towards her with several dataslates in her arms, all the while looking frazzled.

Teal Blue Pearl huffed as she finally reached her Regent Azurite, “My Azurite!” she spoke aloud in a hurried tone, “I managed to compile the reports you asked!” Teal Blue Pearl said with an excited expression.

Azurite sweatdropped, and sighed as she lifted her arm to pat the Pearl on her shoulder, “Very good, acceptable.” she remarked, when in reality she gave her pearl that job to give her a few minutes time alone. The Pearl gem, for some reason, was more clingy than other pearl’s she’s seen in her second lifetime. Maybe she was doing something that got the Pearl to be so clingy.

While Azurite was preoccupied with her thoughts and giving Teal Blue Pearl one more pat on the shoulder for a job well done, she was oblivious to the Pearl’s hidden thoughts and emotions of being validated for her work and given physical contact appreciation.

Chapter 15: Administrator Opalite

Chapter Text

“Pearl!” Tanya yells for her Navy Blue Pearl to come over from her nearby desk, said pearl perks up and gets out of her chair to come over and stand at attention for her Opalite Administrator of Blue Diamond’s court.

“Yes, my Opalite?” Navy Pearl asked with a simple smile, prompting Tanya to hand her a dataslate, which she accepted without a problem.

“Please take that to Commander Sodalite, I need her to get her the authentication that her troops are in top condition.” Tanya explained her dutiful pearl.

“Right away, Ma’am!” Navy Blue Pearl exclaimed with a prim smile, and exited out of their large office room, where several other gems were working around the clock to pick up the slack of their Diamond’s absence from grief.

As Navy Blue Pearl exited the room to the left of the door outside, from the right side of the door on the outside, Blue Diamond’s Blue Pearl came walking in and approached Tanya’s desk.

“Opalite.” Blue Pearl softly intoned, “My Diamond has returned, and would like to see you now.” she informed the Opalite Administrator.

Tanya looked up from her work with pursed lips, and got up from her desk with a sigh, before turning around to face her office workers of blue gems, “Continue, as if I am still here, we can’t stop, or else we’ll get swamped with more work!” She warned with a stern look.

“YES, MY OPALITE!” The room full of office working gems stood up and gave their boss a salute, before sitting back down to continue working in earnest.

Tanya faced Blue Pearl, and nodded for her to lead the way, with which she smiled back and did so.

Tanya had a deadpan look on her face as she was wrapped in a tight hug by her Diamond, all the while forced tears dripped from her eye ducts “Must you always do this, my Diamond? You do know that my schedule is packed, and while I can’t tell you to please halt your grieving, I must at least ask you to take less time and help your court get under control!” Tanya calmly said to Blue Diamond while being used as an emotional support gem for the Diamond Matriarch.

As Blue Diamond set Tanya down, she smiled down at her creation, “I’m sorry.” she sniffed while wiping a stray tear from her eye. “But I miss Pink so much, and you’ve been so much of a help with the court and everything else!”

“Yes, while I’m glad we can have these private moments between us, away from the prying eyes of gem society, we both know that you need to get back to work, the Diamond Empire needs you.” Tanya said to her progenitor Diamond Mother with an annoyed look, a rare time between the two in which they can drop the pretenses and act less informal between each other.

“I’ll try…” Blue Diamond sighed in sadness as she wiped another tear from her eye, “It’s just that, it’s only been a thousand years, and I don’t think I can move on!” she explained with a sniffle.

Tanya grumbled and patted her Diamond’s lap with a soft smile, “Just…don’t take too long, the court and I need you back to working condition!” she explained, earning a soft smile from Blue Diamond.

Chapter 16: 'Titanian' White Rutile

Chapter Text

White Diamond looks down at her little creation with a simple smile of intrigue, the growing trend of creating a special gem from a part of themselves, spilled out to her in a sense; while she did make the lesser Diamonds that reflected her emotions and color, she never quite created such a compact little gem on the scale of the others. Thus White was rather amused that her ability to enforce her will through her 'Titanian' Pure White Rutile, or simply Rutile for short, was often met with heavy resistance whenever her gem as faraway from her.

"No matter!" White diamond said to herself, as she looked down at her little Rutile standing before her, before fully speaking to the progeny of hers, "You've done well to reorganize the systems of my planets, keep this up, and I may just gift you a pearl of your own." she smiled eerily down at her Rutile gem.

Tanya let out an exhausted but releived silent sigh, as she held up her Diamond Salute, "Yes, My Diamond!" "She's such a slave driver, and so incapable of managing her own planets without them falling into chaos! Would it kill her to regard the gems within the gem empire with the slightest bit of kindness!?" Tanya yelled in her mind in panic.

White simply chortled in amusement, "Oh my, why would I bother with Kindness, little one?" White Diamond smiled a dangerous grin, "They all are a part of me afterall, and I'm happy, thus they are happy, I'm perfect thus they must be perfect. don't forget yourself either, my little Rutile."

Tanya sweated, forgetting that White Diamond was present within the minds of all her gems inside her court, "My apologies, My Diamond!" she stuttered out in nervousness.

White simple sighed in fondness for her creation, and clasped her cheek with her hand while her other kept in its pose, "Think nothing of it, my little Rutile, you're simply me acting my emotions out, I never knew I had such thoughts." she hummed in amusement with a smirk afterwards.

Chapter 17: Council of the Multifaceted Tanyas

Chapter Text

Homeworld

Within a refurbished room meant for storage of various supplies, a round table is centered at the middle with a holoprojector in the middle that shows various analyses of several different projects underway. Sitting at the table were eerily identical looking women but with different shades of color to reflect their diamond and hair styles to differentiate each other more.

"And that concludes the war in the northern quadrant so far…" Finished Citrine as she clicked on a remote to show more results on the holoscreen in the middle of the table, showing statistics of time and effort as well as resources spent in quelling the sector of gem space, "And If I'm being honest, the end result need to improve, the empire can't sustain itself this way." she griped.

Sitting on the other side of her, Administrator Opalite stood up and slammed her palms into the desk, "It's one thing for an empire to have internal conflicts, but a galaxy wide epidemic is very much a problem!" she explained with an annoyed expression, and shot a sympathetic look Citrine's way. "I've already put in the request to get Sodalite the green light to finally get out there and help, all I need is my Diamond's consent."

Citrine nodded and gave her thanks, while Pink Diamond's Pink Aventurine sat but still spoke up while leaning forward on the edge of the table with her hand, "At least you two can help each other out, everything's still slow going in the milky way Galaxy!" she complained with a grumble, "I just got Pink to understand that she could skirt around a few loopholes, and use the rest of the planets of the Sol System, while keeping Earth safe."

The other Tanyas nodded in understanding, allowing Aventurine to continue to speak as she leaned back in her chair, "Can you believe, she almost planned on masquerading as a Rose Quartz to raise a banner of rebellion?" she questioned the others. "It would have been so much easier if she had done it as herself and seceded from the Empire."

Sitting opposite of Aventurine, Rutile let out an amused chuckle with mirthful expression, "We all ran the numbers, and the odds lean heavily in Pink's favor, she is afterall a popular figure amongst all the courts of the Diamonds." White Diamond's Gem manager said to the others as she relaxed in her chair with her legs crossed, and hands clasped over her knee.

"Right." Citrine nodded in agreement as she sat down as well as Opalite opposite of her to get down to more business, "What should we do in such an event when or if it occurs?" she asked.

Opalite shrugged with her hands up a bit as she leaned back in her chair, "If I remember right, the data shows that Blue Diamond would join Pink, Yellow would stay out of it, and White would continue to instigate the civil war."

Aventurine spoke up next with a look of concern between her fellow Tanyas, "But then where does that leave us? Wait, are we even championing the idea?" she questioned the other.

"Obviously." Citrine spoke to her with an eye roll, and shrugged, "Pink is a good catalyst for gem society to change." she then looked around, "All agree?"

"Aye." All three Tanya incarnates agreed with a look of determination.

Elsewhere

In the next room over, which was fashioned into a lounge, four pearls are seen conversing amongst each other; Orange Pearl, Navy Blue Pearl, Rose Pink Pearl, and Pink Diamond's old Pearl gifted to Rutile. Pink Pearl in particular had her color swapped at a clam, but her memories and everything else remained, something she thanked her Rutile for.

Chapter 18: Gem ages

Chapter Text

"So." Kiki began to ask as Citrine, O.Pearl, Spinel, Jasper, and Lapis, all sat at a table within the Pizza parlar. "Is this some kind of party for the little one here?" she winks at the cute little Spinel gem, who simply looks at her in confusion. "Like a birthday or something?"

"Excuse me?" Spinel asked.

Tanya spoke up with an amused look, "I think any of us are far passed getting any birthdays, we're simply here to enjoy little bit of Pizza." she informed the human girl.

"Yeah." Jasper spoke up with her arms crossed, "And besides, even if we did celebrate our emergence day, it'd get pretty old passed the hundredth year."

"Wait!" Spinel stood up in excitement, "Do I get one if I ask? I want balloons!" she cheered, "ooh, ooh, and and, one huge cake!" she added with a grin.

Tanya looked to Spinel with a raised eyebrow, "Do you even remember how long ago you were made?" she asked, getting a shrug from Spinel.

"Eh, somewhere in the ballpark of seven plus thousand years." Spinel answered without a care.

"Wait." Kiki remarked with her hands on her hips, already passed the point of acknowledging that gems were long lived species, "I thought you would've the youngest out of everyone."

Jasper scoffed with an amused smile, "That'd be me." she remarked, getting a further confused look from Kiki.

Deciding to add her own cents to the conversation, Lapis spoke up, "That's nothing, I'm about ten thousand of your earth years, you'd be amazed how much the gem empire had changed over the eons." she informed the flabbergasted Kiki girl.

"hmm." O.Pearl hummed in thought, and turned towards her Citrine, "doesn't this mean you an me are the same age of around five thousand years?" she asked Tanya.

Tanya shrugged, "That's debatable, Yellow Diamond incubated me for a thousand years in some far off planet, whereas you were a ready to be made pearl." Tanya said to her Pearl with a ponderous expression.

"You gem girls are actually making me feel young!" Kiki's grandmother spoke up from behind the counter.

Chapter 19: Holding Hands

Chapter Text

It was with some mixed feelings of Jealousy, annoyance, anger, all boiled into one odd feeling in her chest, as Orange Pearl walked behind her Citrine while Spinel walked beside the commander while holding hands with her; Spinel at present seemed to be in her depression state, and since Citrine didn't want to leave the gem alone in her private quarters, she urged the Pink Spinel gem to come with them back to the bridge.

With some reluctance on Spinel's part, she agreed but wanted to hold hands with one of them like she did with Pink diamond; Citrine, with her patience having run thin at the time, decided to grab Spinel's hand and help her up off the bed, and let her walk beside her back to the bridge while they held hands.

Pearl's cheeks glowed dark orange as pictured herself holding hands with her Citrine, before shaking her head and slapping her face to snap herself out of her funk. Goodness! What was coming over her, all over the simple action of her Citrine holding hands with Pink Diamond's Spinel Gem.

"Is everything alright, Pearl?" Citrine asked as she paused in her steps along with Spinel, as they had stopped and turned to look at her after she slapped her cheeks.

"Uh…" Orange Pearl began to squirm in place as she was put under the scrutinizing gaze of her Citrine Commander, "I was thinking we…we…" she began to mutter to herself in embarrassment.

In a rare moment of perkiness from Spinel, she allowed herself a simple smile out of her depressed state. "Do you wanna hold hands too?" she asked Orange Pearl.

"What? Me? I-I-I m-m-mean…" Orange Pearl began to stutter, only for Spinel to stretch her free arm out, and clasp hands with Pearl's hand.

"Pink always said, it's more fun when more friends are involved." Spinel remarked with a melancholy sad smile, as she dragged Orange Pearl over to walk on the opposite side of Citrine, with Spinel in between the two gems. "That feels better, right?" she questioned the Pearl.

Orange Pearl looked up and traded glances with her Citrine, who simply shrugged back with a confused gaze, leaving Pearl to accept the offer.

"Alright, come on you two." Citrine urged the Pearl and Spinel gem, as she began walking with the two gems linked with her via hand holding.

"Not what I pictured doing, but I suppose it'll do for now." Orange Pearl thought to herself, as the action helped the Spinel gem cope a bit with her chaotic depression.

Chapter 20: Citrine asks Yellow Diamond a question

Chapter Text

In a rare time in which Tanya is able to be in the same room as Yellow Diamond while she works, she herself, for some reason was given her own desk to work at. Sometimes, Tanya wondered what was going on in the mind of her Diamond...perhaps she's been given the opportunity to essentially work in the same office as her boss so to speak for all of her accomplishments.

Deciding to break the silence between them and ask a question that has been on her mind, Tanya speaks up. "My Diamond? May I ask a question?" She prompts the Diamond Matriarch.

"Hmm?" Yellow Diamond pauses in going through her digital files of ongoing projects, and glances down at her Citrine gem. "Yes, I suppose I'll allow you to pose a question, I've just finished going through a batch report of the latest Era 2 Jasper gems."

Tanya cleared her throat before speaking clearly, "I know we may not be advanced enough to accomplish it yet, but have you ever deigned the thought of creating a planet to grow gems on, instead of searching for appropriate planets that'd have the necessary resources for gem production and colonization?" She asked her Diamond with a curious look.

Yellow Diamond raised an eyebrow as she cupped her chin in thought, "Once upon a time I had thought about the idea, and I even tried to come up on theories for it, but it is as you say, our Technological Level isn't ready yet, it'll take a good several dozen millennia for the idea to go from theoretical to practical."

Tanya nodded in acceptance, "I...see...well, I hope in time, the theory will bare practical results to solve our resource problem."

"Hmm...yes, quite." Yellow Diamond let out an annoyed grunt, "But for now, we'll have to make due with what we got."

Chapter 21: A podcast between Diamonds

Chapter Text

With Citrine sitting beside Pink Diamond to help manage the new endeaver she was tasked in overseeing, Pink Diamond has both Yellow Diamond and Blue Diamond visit for a q&a session.

"So..." Pink begins to say toward Yellow Diamond with an excited expression, "What's it like out there, Yellow, managing all your colonies. Unlike me, you and the other Diamonds have colonies, but you out of all of us managing a staggering amount more than the others! What's it like? Is it fun?"

Yellow Diamond leans back with her legs crossed, and cupped her chin in thought, "Quite the opposite in fact." she grimaced, "While I do enjoy my work to some extent, I hardly have any alone time to relax. It's rewarding to some extent to see how well my colonies develop, but I have to micromanage on a galactic level." Yellow then shook her head in bemusement, "Honestly, I don't know how White managed the growing Empire before us." she muses.

Pink deflates a bit, "I thought managing your own colony was all fun." she questioned her sister Diamond.

Yellow scoffed, "You and I wish, it's a very taxing effort to oversee every minute detail of whatever new colony I oversee, it get's very boring and monotous very quick." she sighed afterwards and crosses her arms, "The only stimulating experience I get out of my duties, is making sure all of my ongoing projects come out perfect." she finished say, while stealing a glance at Citrine, and smirked.

Pink coughs into her fist, "Well...that was a bit of a let down." she mumbles, before perking up to look at Blue Diamond, "Let's move on to you next, Blue!" she gushes in excitement. "What's it like managing such a comparatively large Court of gems?" she asked the Blue Diamond Matriarch.

Blue Diamond smiles warmly at Pink as she sits not far beside Yellow Diamond, "While it is quite enjoyable to see how well my gems in my court behave so well, it does get rather taxing having to reel in the more outliers and over ambitious aristocrat gems in my court."

Citrine decides to ask her own questions as well to Blue Diamond's answer, "Like Shattering? Rumor has it you are more prone to shattering those that fall out of line."

"Oh Stars!" Blue Diamond gives Citrine a wide eye look, "That's actually a last choice, I don't go around haphazardly shattering gems as I please!"

"Wait." Pink Begins to ask Blue with an aghast look on her face towards her fellow Diamond, "You shatter gems!?" she gave Blue a hurt look.

Blue Diamond precedes to give Pink a chiding look, "It's not as if I enjoy doing such a thing, but as a Diamond, I have the responsibility of a Diamond, and rather I like it or not, I have to enforce our Diamond authority with impunity."

"But still!" Pink Diamond tries to reason with Blue Diamond, "Shattering, Blue, like, isn't there any other way to punish a gem? Shattering seems a bit barbaric to me." she said with a perturbed look on her face.

"You'll come to understand when your an older Diamond, Pink." Yellow Diamond rolls her eye at Pink's naivety of Homeworld's laws and taboos.

"hmph." Pink pouts with an annoyed look on her face, "Doesn't mean 'I' have to like it either I guess, or perhaps some rules need to be changed." she sneers with distate.

Blue tries to give Pink a sympathetic look, "Pink, you'll come to understand some century the responsibiliy of a Diamond, but for now, enjoy your little balls and parties you throw for us, it's what you're good at!" Blue tries to cojole the young diamond, only to further agravate her.

Chapter 22: Small Talk between Spinel and Pearl

Chapter Text

"While it still seems you have some lingering emotions over our Pink, I spent the better part of several centuries coming to terms with Pink's departure as Diamond." Spinel spoke to Pearl as they sat alone on Bench on the Boardwalk of Beach city.

"I didn't think My Diamond's death left that much of a suspicion across her entire court." Pearl mused with a firelorn look.

Spinel palmed her chest qith an incredulous look on her face, "Oh believe me, her entire court wanted nothing more than to point fingers on a conspiracy that someone in the upper echelons of gem society wanted her gone. Even Citrine said that Pink's plan to disguise herself as a Rose Quartz was stupid, it set up an entire gem line of Rose Quartz gems to be bubbled for centuries until Citrine pressed Yellow Diamond enough to put the gems into service."

Pearl smiled sadly as she reminisces about Pink Diamond, "Yes, we were both a bit hasty, even she regrets doing what she did and the amount of gems shattered for a selfish cause."

"But it wasn't a selfish cause, I can attest to that." Citrine interjects as she finally arrives onto the scene. "The least she did was protect a planet, can you even compare that to the amount of planets and alien civilizations that the other Diamonds have destroyed over the centuries of their expansion in their home galaxy?"

Pearl wrings her hands with a wane smile, "She did always say that the Diamond authority were agents of death, but she wanted to be different."

Chapter 23: An alternate timeline and universe

Chapter Text

You’d be hard pressed to witness to live at a time when humanity bands together as one for a common goal, whatever Being X is up to, I don’t know what he is thinking of in bringing extraterrestrials into the picture. What I do know is that humanity can count themselves lucky that a rebel cell broke off from the invading force, headed by one Rose Quartz amongst other ‘gems’ of her race.

Germania is just lucky that every state and country aimed their sights off from the escalation of a world war that now seems to somehow become an intergalactic war between the Crystal Gems and Humanity against the oppressive force known as the Diamond Authority. It was learned early on that it took quite the force and damage impact to ‘poof’ the enemy’s forces, thus with the exponential need for mages and their craft against the hardlight bodies of enemy gems increased.

I can only imagine how the other countries are tripping over themselves to find capable mages to save their lands from the invasive forces of the Diamond Authority, as well as other methods to stave off the ever increasing numbers of the enemy

Battlefield

The cacophony of war filled the air as the battlefield seemed nigh endless in wherever one looked, trenches lines the earth with the sounds of artillery shells going off and rifles going off; the homeworld gems could easily shrug off the bullets from the humans, but it was the charging mass of rebel gems they had to pay attention on as swords went flying and swing amongst the crowd of gems fighting each other.

Above in the air, countless mage forces flew through the air raining down their artillery fire upon the enemy gems behind enemy lines as to not catch the friendly gem forces in their fire. Amongst the various types of mages from all walks of life and country, Tanya lead the charge with her Imperial 203rd mage Battlian. As they all flew the air past former enemies turned allies in the darkness of humanity’s hour, Tanya reached up to radio through to her divisions, “Weis, take the left, Neuman take the right, I’ll be taking the center mass, go!” she ordered as she soared through the air with her fellow soldiers of the Salamander Kampfgruppe.

“Ma’am!” the two responded before two group broke off and flew down to rain their mage bullet shells upon the enemy gems.

Tanya glanced behind her as she continued to fly, she could see Visha and the rest, “The rest of you with me!” she ordered, before dipping down through the air to fly a few feet above the earth, the rest of her soldiers weren’t far behind her in the meanwhile. As Tanya lifted her rifle up to aim and fire, she looked through her reticule to see a rather beefed up orange looking gem soldier, giving her a death stare.

“Get down here and fight me, you human coward!” The gem yelled up at her as Tanya flew towards her and her fellow homeworld gems.

“I’ll pass.” Tanya responded in a blase manner as she fired her rifle and poofed the gem, followed by the rest of her soldiers as they fired upon the group of homeworld gems. After picking off enough enemies, Tanya led the charge back up into the air to pause and catch a breath from the adrenaline rushing through her systems.

As Tanya hovered in the air thanks to her mage core, she glanced over at Visha and the rest to check on their status, “Hm.” she mused as she looked back down to watch the others pick off gems from the air. “I’m almost tempted to ask why the enemy doesn’t have their own aerial fighters.” she mused to herself in her head, before shaking her head. It’d be best not to tempt fate.

Chapter 24: Mass Effect | Peace was never an option

Chapter Text

While Tevos was skimming through the latest report from the easternmost part of the Attican Traverse, the Turian councilor beside her could be seen furiously going through the incoming reports of various battle theaters that the Turian Navy and ground forces were hemorrhaging numbers.

The Salarian councilor, Nisturn, eventually spoke up after reading her own report from the Special Tasks Group, "Very troubling, reports keep coming in of very advance race able to push back Turian navy, managed to even spot our STG agents when they were within certain range of the alien's particularly odd ships." she spoke in a very rushed voice.

Tevos reached up and palmed her forehead as she felt a headache coming on, "I've sent an envy to try a diplomatic approach, but I've received nothing but silence for the last few days." she commented with a worried tone.

The Turian councilor Novus placed his report down and looked between the two other Councils, "We'll need to come up with something, or this will blow up as a full on galactic battle against this new alien race." He remarked in a strict tone, his eyes belied his worry for his fellow Turians of the numbers thrown against the grinder of the battle against this new and very troubling alien race.

Tanya

Tapping her fingers against the armrest of her chair within the bridge of her hand warship, Tanya rested her chin on her fist while crossing her leg over her other leg; It's been several days since Yellow Diamond ordered an armada of gem ships to make a foothold elsewhere in the milky way other than where Pink Diamond's planet was, the first armada involved Sodalite's own forces, and she was supposed to arrive to supplant the numbers in assistance to settle the viable worlds for gem colonization.

As her entire armada finally arrived at where Sodalite's own armada was supposed to be at, the view from out of her ship's windows showed that they were exiting out of warp speed; right as her ship and the others exited out, Tanya's eyes widened in disbelief to see an ongoing space battle above a scarred planet. Klaxons began to blare as every peridot and nephrite within the bridge began issuing out orders and relying calls to fellow gem ships of their status.

Tanya stood up and grimaced, "Oh shat in a coal!" she cursed and swept her arm out, "All ships and stations." she commanded after pinging her voice through every ship's intercom, "this is not a drill, we are going into defcon 2, prepare the thunderhammer!" she shouted. "Damn it, who the hell fucked up negotiations here?"

Chapter 25: Mother's day

Chapter Text

"Hey, Citrine, what's with the world's biggest mug?" Steven asked as he thumbed to the outside of Citrine's coffee shop, the gem was still on 'holiday' from work ever since Steven managed to change White Diamond's mind.

"hm?" Tanya looked up from counting her cash from the resister, before putting the stack back in and shutting the drawer, "It's mother's day, and I saw fit to introduce my Diamond to the luxury that is coffee."

"...Wouldn't you call Yellow your mom then, if that's what you're doing?" Steven asked Citrine.

Tanya gave Steven an amused smile, "We're not exactly that far into reconciliation, but I figure this is a start for her indulging all my ideas that went against gem society."

"Oh." Steven remarked with a small smile, "That's nice." he mused

=====
-There's merch?
-duh! Peridot sells plushies of herself and her other co-workers of the coffee shop she works at.
-Shut up and take my money!
=====

"Quite the increase in profits after the second stream, by my calculations." Peridot answered while pulling out a touchpad to show to her, "As you can see, a fifty percent increase in sales."

"Mm." Citrine made a sound of thought, and glanced at the chat log with a curious expression, only to glower at one of the comments.

=====
-Step on me!
=====

"I hope not all of your viewers are degenerates." Citrine mused with a distasteful frown.

Peridot glanced at what Citrine read, and made a confused expression, "Why would someone want you to step on them?"

Chapter 27: A rave party in the Yellow Palace

Chapter Text

Marching herself through the hallways of the newly renovated Yellow Palace, something that took well over a century with how massive it was, and the intrinsic rooms needed for various purposes, Tanya had her fists clenched a bit as she found herself looking for Spinel…again, the gem was often distracted with things to do, and Tanya was beginning to speculate she ought to ask Yellow Diamond to create a yellow Spinel to give Spinel a fellow gem of her type to play with; so engrossed in her aid to her Yellow Diamond in going through all the resource documents for the following centuries, Spinel had managed to disappear from even Orange Pearl's notice.

Supposedly from one of the hallway Quartz guards' testimonies, Spinel had wandered off with the new regiment of gems that were from the planet of Albus 01, and were all heading back down to the soldiers quarters for a little R&R; going by that information, Tanya was now worried Spinel with her tenaciousness in anything roughhouse related was going to end up causing another wreck of the place with her Diamond-rated abilities.

As Tanya continued her way through the lower subsections of the Yellow Palace where most of the lower caste of gems were granted their own quarters, and more specifically Yellow Diamond common quartz foot soldiers, she began to pick up the odd thrum of music that wasn't associated normally with Homeworld's ball music; quite the particular music that was accompanied by the sight of small lights and fog coming out from the bottom of the doors leading into the room for quartz soldiers to unwind and test each other's martial prowess against each other.

Tanya lifted an eyebrow of curiosity as she approached the doorway, just as her Pearl came around the corner of the different direction of the hallway she came through. "Oh!" Orange Pearl spoke as she jogged over to her with curiosity written across her face as well. "Oh stars, could Spinel be in there?" she pondered with her hands over her mouth in worry…for the gem soldiers more than likely by Tanya's assumptions.

"We'll find out." Tanya replied back to her Pearl as she stepped forward to open the doors, and as Tanya opened the doors, both of them were pushed back a bit by the thrum of music while within the room was quite the particular sight of a- "Is that a rave party?" Tanya deadpanned while shouting out to her Pearl.

"What!?" Pearl shouted back as she placed her hands on her ears, wincing a bit at the sudden onslaught of raucous music.

"Nevermind!" Tanya shouted back more loudly as she walked into the room and began pushing her way through the crowd of gems, some of which were either shocked of afraid of her as she pushed her way through, most likely worried she'd punish them for attending this sort of thing…

She was more concerned with the fact the DJs Tephroite and Spodumene had managed to acquire the means to orchestrate this entire rave party with the appropriate music devices and supplies for it all; by the looks of things as Tanya navigated her way through the crowd of gems that were bouncing to the beat of the music, the DJ booth was made up of repurposed old gem tech and other sort of tech that were, by the looks of it, were acquired by various means.

As Tanya finally approached the booth with several gems around her with worried looks of getting reprimanded, Tanya herself glanced around in hopes of finding Spinel, before glancing up to look at the enormous speakers that were emitting the rave music, and spotted several gems dancing atop them. One of which was Spinel with glow sticks in her hands while waving them around and using her gem body and arms to dance to the rhythm while making her arms noodly and twist.

'...as long as she's not destroying anything…' Tanya figured to herself before glancing at the Tephroite and Spodumene gems, their translucent amorphous bodies allowed the light show behind them to make their bodies shift colors to match the beat of the music they were DJing. As the music began to finish off, both gems glanced down.

"Oh…" Tephroite spoke aloud.

"Dear…" Blue Spodumene finished saying for her fellow dj gem.

Tanya lifted gave the two gems a curious look, while Spinel finally looked down at her and beamed a wide smile of excitement, "Hey! Did you come to dance as well!? This is so much fun!" Spinel hollered down among the quieting crowd.

Looking up between her and the DJs, then at the crowd of gems around her, Tanya turned to leave. "Don't stop on my account, I simply came by to look for Spinel…continue as you were." she spoke out while leaving a flabbergasted look on both faces of Tephroite and Spodumene.

Once Tanya managed to exit out from the crowd of gems that parted ways to give her room to leave, she turned around to look at the worried faces of gem soldiers. She gave them all an annoyed look, "What, don't stop on my account, I was only looking for Spinel." As the doors closed, Tanya thought inwardly to herself, 'At least Spinel is occupied, it'll make my job easier…'

Tanya glanced over at Pearl who had stayed outside, and was giving her a look of astonishment, "What?" she asked her Pearl.

Orange Pearl shrugged, "I figured you'd put a stop to all that mess, less they get in trouble with Yellow Diamond."

"I don't recall anywhere in the rules of Yellow Diamond's palace that the gems can't cut loose in that fashion…and Spinel is at least having fun and her mind is elsewhere from Pink Diamond." Tanya explained to her Pearl.

Orange Pearl shrugged at that, "I suppose you're right…"

Chapter 28: That time I got reincarnated into a civilization colonization sim

Chapter Text

Somewhere  in the Milky Way

Within a distant solar system inhabited by twin stars, a couple planets orbit around the stars, one of which was under heavy colonization; homing in closer to the planet in the process of colonization, it has a similar look to homeworld in how it's been cracked open. The atmosphere seemingly kept in check by an unseen force, upon closer examination of the planet, the rest of the surface was once a craggy and barren land that is now inhabited by several dozen gem towers and buildings.

An explosion rips the planet open like an egg, shortly after, an orange hand abruptly emerges to pull the rest of the owner of the hand up out of the cracked opening of the planet; the female being blinks her awareness into being as she heaves herself out from the cracked opening. As the large orange female pulls herself out from the opening of the cracked planet, she grits her teeth before rolling onto the ground and sighs a breath of relief.

Various gems are at work around the clock within the gem cities, the predominant color of the gem beings are orange with several others in their default colors for various reasons; located where the crack in the planet was, an entire gem city is under construction. The twin stars in the sky shine upon the Orange tinted gem city, allowing it to gleam across the surface for it to be seen for miles away.

The large orange woman steps over a barren hill of dirt, her outfit military in nature, one she was more comfortable in, a lone orange Diamond is situated at her collar; the woman has a few peridots approach her side and take notes into their tablets as the woman explains what she has mind for her city. Not far behind the large woman and peridots, were Jasper soldiers, keeping an ever vigilant eye out as they stood behind their Diamond.

Within the now massive crack in the planet, the gem city sprawls throughout the chasm with countless structures holding it up; several winding columns are stabbed downwards into the chasm that use the geothermal energy of the planet's magma to power the sprawling city. Within the center most part of the gem city, a large bundle of sprawling buildings jut upwards to the sky with one such tower being the center of it all with a massive complex of honeycomb-like building structures.

The large chasm crack in the planet has countless gems at work building their Diamond's city, many Bismuths eager to try out the new ideas the new Diamond has in mind for her city; at the edge of the crack chasm, the Orange Diamond lady has several Olivines and Peridots with her around a structured table, a large hologram is projected out from the top of the table as the woman gives her gems more plans on the future for the planet. She points and speaks of future endeavors she wants to have her followers undertake to form a civilisation on the planet she emerged from.

Inside the large tower of the sprawling gem city, an auditorium is filled to the brim of all manner of gems, their status not a hindrance to allow them to attend the council of their Diamond. The Orange woman is at the center of it all as she stands in front of a podium, a large hologram is projected out from the podium as she speaks of future plans for the rest of the solar system. As the Orange Diamond matriarch finishes her speech, her gems give her a standing ovation of excitement, to which the large Diamond smirks in pride for herself.

Homeworld

"Yellow!" Pink Diamond cups her mouth and hollers as she enters the yellow palace, "You said you'd take me to my colony today! Where are you!?" she hollered out.

From out of one of the doors, Yellow Diamond marches out while reading a tablet in her hand, "Ah, Pink." she remarks as she walks over to her youngest sister Diamond…well, going by what White had sent her, she'd be picking up their newest Diamond addition…she wasn't sure why White would create a new Diamond, they were already fairing just fine with the four of them.

"Whatcha reading Yellow!?" Pink asks as she hops to float up and hang over Yellow's shoulder to look and see what she was reading.

"Hm? Oh." Yellow begins to say as she lowered her tablet down to project a larger image of a once barren planet, now cracked open that was recorded a thousand years ago. "We'll be picking up your new Diamond sister, congrats, you're no longer the youngest." she deadpanned at Pink's shocked look, that soon giddy.

"Oh, this will be so exciting! I get to show off that I'll be getting my own colony soon!" Pink clapped her hands in joy.

Yellow rolled her eyes and scrolled up on the hologram to show more recent pictures, "Good luck with that, your younger sister Diamond already somehow managed to understand her purpose and use her own emergence planet as her first colony." she narrowed her eyes at the image of the sprawling city within the cracked open part of the barren planet, "hm…not a bad idea for her first gem city, I'll give her that." she mused.

Pink gasped in shock at how fast her youngest sister had already repurposed her birth planet as her own colony, and didn't even use the gems to contact homeworld to pick her up. "How come she didn't call?"

"White said she didn't give the new Diamond the means to contact us." Yellow Diamond replied as she began reading the reports of how successful the Orange Diamond's colony had been , "She wanted to test something out with the new diamond, and left her to fend for herself and see how well she'd manage alone without the assistance of everyone else."

"Oh…" Pink mumbled as she hung over Yellow's shoulder, before hopping off to float back down, and clenched her fists in eagerness, "Then that means, I got to be at the top of my game when I get to my own colony!" she remarked in excitement.

"Yes…" Yellow drawled out as she glanced down at Pink, "I'm more surprised you aren't acting jealous."

"What, me?" Pink looked aghast, while palming her chest, before noticing Yellow's look she was giving her, before grimacing, "Okay, maybe I'm a little jealous…okay?" She crossed her arms and pouted, "But that just means I got to work harder on my own colony, and show that new younger sister diamond of mine that I can be as responsible as her!" she pumped her fist.

"I just hope you'll actually take your responsibilities seriously this time…" Yellow Diamond thought to herself as she continued to examine the Orange Diamond's colony city, barely in her infancy as a Diamond, and already she created a sprawling city… "I suppose White broke off a piece of her that was more logistics savvy.' She mused inwardly.

Chapter 29: Era 2 Ametrines

Chapter Text

Citrine what to expect when Yellow Diamond summoned her over to a new colony of hers, but she definitely didn't expect to hear that she'd be making a new type of gem batch based off the template of how she made her but with one part of the process left out as an exception that she didn't elaborate on...odd, but nothing out of ordinary with how often her Diamond liked to keep personal projects of hers to the chest.

Yellow Diamond wasn't sure what to make of the situation she had at hand, she definitely wasn't sure what happened during the process to create the next batch of Quartz soldiers for Era 2.

The Ametrine quartz soldiers were supposed to be quite capable with their limb enhancers and other augmentations...she just didn't expect most of them to be very enthusiastic in the tech that would be integrated into their light forms.

"My Diamond?" Citrine announced herself as she stepped through the doorway behind her.

Yellow Diamond glanced behind her, while the processing of hem divisions were handled in front of her by Yellow Beryl. "Ah, you've finally arrived. Come in an greet your new Ametrine soldiers."

"Mine?" Citrine asked with a quizzical look as she walked over to stand beside her Diamond.

"Yes, yours, I made them from the template of you afterall." Yellow drawled out.

Ametrine Facet 5tr0 cut h31m was very excited to get equiped like her fellow sister gems with Era 2 tech. She even requested and hoped she get a laser eye over one of her eyes and chargeable cannon in her torso to go along with her limb enhancers.

Once she was able to finally get her request, she noticed far up behind a window of the building she was in, her progenitor gem that her gem line was based off from, and gave the Citrine Commander a respective diamond salute.

"MY GLORIOUS CITRINE, BEHOLD, ERA 2 GEM TECH IS THE GALAXY'S FINEST!" Ametrine shouted out exuberantly, while causing the rest of her Ametrine sisters to take notice of Commander Citrine as well, and bid their respect as well.

"Hmmm, I think I need to tweak the development more." Yellow Diamond drawled out with a deadpan look.

Citrine blinked at the exuberant attitude the Ametrines had, "Well...at least they don't seem to feel inadequate." She mused.

Chapter 30: Gem May Cry

Chapter Text

Human Habitation Station

(Formerly the Human Zoo)

What once was a simple facility to house the humans for Pink Diamond’s curious nature of organics, was now a full on habitat station that had undergone several dozen expansions throughout the centuries to accommodate the human population and the organics needed; it was one of the suggestions given by Commander Citrine in some effort to ‘help’ improve the nature of the human zoo.

Now at nine hundred kilometers in diameter now that it was a sphere, it was a practical small moon if it were any larger.

Inside the medical facility part of the habitation station, Peridot Facet-2F5L Cut-5XG was spending her time finalizing her time in acquiring her certification of being authorized as a human biologist; Don’t get her wrong, being a certified Kindergartner has its benefits, but currently she wanted to expand her repertoire of being smarter than the average peridot, especially the era one peridots.

As Peridot worked at her terminal, she used her limb enhancers and its floating digits to hover a holopad up to her mouth to speak into it as she used her other hand and its fingers to type into the terminal as her eyes never ceased inspecting the flow of data she inputted into her station. “Log Date, Era 2,  two dash five point zero, this is my hundredth year so far. With what I’ve managed to document so far, has been far from the norm of gem society at large.”

While Peridot continued to type into her keyboard module, her eyes drifted over to one of her other screens and viewed the data of various notable humans, “During the station's first decade under Commander Citrine’s directory, the station had undergone vast amounts of changes from the years and onward, until the next century, after which she was called off from my magnanimous Yellow Diamond to quell another rebel gem uprising.”

Typing a few commands to bring up one particular subject of a human, Peridot eyed the male subject before speaking into her recording pad once more, “during the century of Citrine’s command, the human’s of the formerly titled zoo now titled habitat, were of low intelligence. It was with Citrine’s advice that if we are to entertain the idea of keeping the humans as they were amongst gem society, they should at least be uplifted and learn. After some trial and error on her part, she managed to create quite the sub-society of the diamond empire.”

Peridot glanced over to a different monitor of various data that was compiled over and about humans during the time which Citrine was the director of the once named human zoo, “While short lived, the appropriately nicknamed zoomens, to differentiate from the actual humans that once lived on Pink diamond’s colony, are capable of easy transferable of given knowledge to their offsprings. It is with this in mind that Citrine taught a generation of zoomen younglings of applicable knowledge such as mathematics, critical thinking, and various other bits of knowledge, after several decades, the duty was eventually passed onto zoomans that is of appropriate ages to take over as this so-called ‘teacher’.”

After several minutes of Peridot going into detail of other things the Zoomens had undergone through under Citrine’s direction, she finally landed on one specific subject that was of hotly contested debate amongst the echelon’s of gem society, and all the way up to Citrine and Yellow Diamond.

“Subject Zooman n3-r0, young zooman male teen of quite the controversy, born from one adult male and one Lapis Lazuli. I should note however that this Lapis that had relations with the zooman adult male is not the Lapis that has been under Citrine’s command ever since the events of the Rose Rebellion.”

Peridot brought up the image of the zooman father, one that had silver blonde hair and the Lapis Lazuli was next, this one had white freckles on her cheeks and a very bubbly good nature.

“From what I had gathered so far, Citrine had managed to procure the knowledge of how zoomans procreate, and had taught the Lapis Lazuli why zoomens fall in love with each other, especially with other beings that were of good qualities in appearance.” Peridot continued to speak as she documented her research on other findings she’s had about the zoomens and their capabilities to evolve through the use of knowledge and generational relevant intelligence compared to prior generations.

“While the Lapis still is in service, she has been relegated into an arm gauntlet as punishment for her cross-breeding with a human, her release is due within the next few centuries, with some exceptions of an early release, that is to say, if zooman subject n3-r0 provides enough proof of his existence. That’s also not even going into the fact that Commander Citrine had quite the discussion between her and Yellow Diamond of her negligence in the manner. However, while I wasn’t there to hear the conversation between the two of them, Commander Citrine somehow managed to convince Yellow Diamond to let her off the hook, with some caveats on the subject matter revolving around Zooman n3-r0.”

Peridot then brought up the current image on said teen zooman boy, “Zooman subject n3-r0 now serves under Commander Citrine as one of her more personal subjects of experimental warfare, and while he has yet to see combat, I can’t help but be curious how well a human hybrid can measure up in combat.”

As Peridot finished her daily report, she included a last note, “It is with my given hypothesis, that Commander Citrine had speculated that this incident was Pink Diamond’s idea the whole time, and it is why she allowed the allowed set of events to occur. I Shall endeavor to study up more on this matter when I have the chance to meet with the zooman n3-r0. This is Peridot Facet-2F5L Cut-5XG, out.”

Elsewhere

Citrine’s Ship

N3-r0 sat on a raised bench within one of the various quartz soldier quarters meant to house Citrine’s gems during space travel, the teen inspected his right arm and hand, it was heavily ‘modified’ to have his mother attached as his arm and gauntlet; he could feel everything within it, at felt as an extension of himself as he turned his palm over to clutch his fingers into a fist before relaxing his hand back to normal.

I don’t care how many campaigns I'm sent into, whatever it takes, I’ll do what needs to be done to release you from your punishment.’ N3-r0 thought so himself with a resolute look in his eyes as he witnessed his arm gauntlet shine blue, as if it was responding to his thoughts, prompting him to smile a bit, “Don’t worry mom, I’ll them all I’m not a waste of time.” he said allowed.

“Hey, talking to that arm of yours again?…” Skinny said as she walked into the room with a sly look on her face, and leaned up against the doorway frame with her arms crossed.

N3-r0 glanced up from his seat, and gave Skinny Jasper a raised eyebrow, “Yeah? So what of it? My mom’s trapped in this, so I figured it might help her situation if I talked to her while she’s trapped in her punishment.” he explained with an annoyed scowl, “Got a problem with that?”

Skinny raised her arms up in a mock surrender, “nothing, nothing, I actually think it’s a bit cute and nice you’re going out of your way in comforting that Lapis Lazuli that…did whatever she did you make you.” she remarked with an amused smirk.

“Right.” N3-r0 said with a gruff tone and dower look, and lifted his right arm up to let the blue arm shine under the artificial light a bit, “Anyways, do you know when we’ll be arriving to our destination?” he asked Skinny with a curious tone and expression as he lowered his arm down and rested it on his knee.

Skinny walked over to plop down and sit next to N3-r0, “In a few minutes, give or take, why, feeling antsy for your first skirmish?” She asked with a smirk.

N3-r0 rolled his shoulder, “A tiny bit, I just want to get as many chances as I can to prove my mom’s situation, and shorten her imprisonment.” he explained with a sigh afterwards, “Dad’s still a bit heart broken back home.”

Skinny let out a ‘hm’, before speaking her mind, “Well, you don’t have to wait too long, I suppose, Commander Citrine is capable of running through quite a few loopholes, I’m sure she’s capable of helping your situation as well.” she explained with a chipper attitude.

“Huh, You really think so?” N3-r0 asked with a glance directed at Skinny.

Skinny flashed n3-r0 a smirk, “Trust me, zooman kid, if there’s a gem that can work through the bureaucratic mess of gem society, it’d be Commander Citrine, so try not to be too dour and hope for the best.” She encouraged the zooman teen.

“...I’m not a kid, I’m in my late teens!”

“Heh, you’re still a kid if you have to affirm your age though, and you’re quite young compared to most of us gems anyways.” she remarked, before chuckling at n3-r0’s glare at her.

Chapter 31: Warp Speed Misshaps

Chapter Text

Steven did not expect the day to precede in the manner that it did, it all just happened so quickly as one thing after another; from celebrating Garnet's wedding between Ruby and Sapphire, to defending the Earth from the Diamonds before Blue and Yellow were placated after he revealed his powers of his diamond self.

And that was just another whole can of worms he had been dealing with as of late to now. Talk about finding out about your real roots of who your parents were, or at the very least, who his mother really was.

After a bit of discussion of figuring out how to cure all the corrupted gems, and that it required White Diamond along with him and the other Diamonds, it was then decided he head to homeworld to try and reason with White, a diamond that even Yellow and Blue were afraid of for reasons he did not know yet.

The real spectacle at the end of it all, involved an entire armada of gem ships traveling with one large orange war hand ship from out of some warp into the stratosphere of earth, the entire event happened out of thin air as if by some odd happenstance, something went awry for the gems aboard the ships.

From one moment, the night sky was clear, and dozens of ships exited out of their warp speed; the entire armada of gems ships were heralded by swirling holes in the sky, and as quick as those holes came, they shut after the Ships finished exiting their travel.

And all of that had happened while he was bidding his dad and the others farewell for his trip to homeworld, and the amount of confusion across the board for everyone was enough to know that the arrival of the ships was not part of any plan nor anything else for the matter on the behalf of the Diamonds, going by their confused looks.

It got weirder from that point on, once the orange hand ship landed, it was like experiencing one of those cartoon episodes where the characters meet their counterparts with some extra characters that were part of a what-if scenario.

While he was still standing with his feet on the controls to his mom's ship, Steven glanced over at Pearl, who offered him a sympathetic smile, before he smiled back as he turned his head to look at one of the ship's windows to see the massive armada of ships travel with the ship he was in through warp speed.

Making a cursory glance to Yellow Diamond, the Diamond herself was massaging her temples while she had a focused look as if she were trying to make sense of the prior events.

"...Hey…Yellow?" Steven asked in the midst of all the silence.

Releasing a tired sigh, Yellow ceased her actions to give her divided attention to Steven, "What is it Pink? I'm a bit overwhelmed here in trying to figure out how to make sense of all these messes piled atop each other!" she spoke sharply.

Nervously rubbing his arm, Steven smiled a bit before bashfully asking, "Um…do these incidents happen often?"

"No." Yellow Replied in an instant with a frown, before shifting in her seat to glance out the window of the ship beside her, "But the last time it did happen was several centuries ago, it involved an entire planet vanishing." Yellow spoke in a terse tone, before muttering under her breath, "Using coffinite energy, of all the insane probable ways of speeding up space travel!" she spoke harshly at herself.

With Yellow grumbling to herself, Steven looked back to Pearl, "Hey, Pearl." he said to her in a questioning voice.

"Yes?" Pearl responded, her attention on him amidst the awkward atmosphere.

Steven thought to himself for a second, before speaking up, "Why did you look at that one pink gem, you looked like you knew her from somewhere, and you had a very worried look at the same time."

"...oh…" Pearl bit her lip in shame as she awkwardly rubbed her arm while looking elsewhere, anywhere but at Steven, "Steven…let's just say…you're mom left with a lot behind her…and I'm afraid there's one gem out there…well…" she cringed a bit.

"What? What was bad about that one gem that was looking at me funny?" Steven asked Pearl, desperate to try and understand who that gem was among the many others, like that other Jasper that hadn't been corrupted, the same Peridot that still had her limb enhancers, or shockingly even Lapis, who stuck not far beside that Citrine Commander and her Orange Pearl…and that was just the icing off the cake of how many alter gems showed up.

Pearl sighed, before speaking directly at Steven, "Whatever that Quartz gem did, she must have found Spinel, and I don't know how she got her to be so placated from attacking any of us…"

Steven blinked at that, before asking, "Why would that Spinel attack any of us, out of all those gems?"

"Because…" Pearl tried to find her words, "Because your mom left her Spinel behind…and she's probably still standing in Pink's garden." Pearl explained while sighing in regret and palming her forehead, "Stars know how long our Spinel of our universe has been waiting for Pink to come back."

From beside Steven on his right side, Blue Diamond spoke aloud with a disapproving frown, "Really Pink, we gave you that Spinel to have and take with you wherever you went, why would you leave her in that garden of yours, I'll never know." she spoke with a chastising tone.

"Oh sheesh…" Steven sighed in defeat, he's been trying to convince he's not his mom, but the Diamonds thought otherwise and that he was still Pink in another form, playing some sort of game.

Flashback

It was surreal to see the familiar faces of Jasper, Peridot, Lapis, and a whole slew other other gems amongst the Citrine gem's retinue as the commander conversed with Yellow; Yellow would yell at herself, to pinching her nose in disbelief, all the while his Lapis and Peridot would trade curious glances at each other.

Walking over to the two in question, his Lapis and Peridot of course, Steven had a curious look on his face as he walked up to the two gems, "Hey…do you guys think those two are another you? I mean, you both look alike, as well as that jasper over there…" he asked.

Peridot hummed before rubbing her chin with a critical glance at her doppelganger, "that will depend, Steven, this is unprecedented, other than that one time a colony disappeared from some strange experiment of one of Yellow Diamond research stations." she mused, pondering if the other her was indeed another her from another separate timeline.

His Lapis however, gave the other Lapis a cursory glance, who looked back at her with a bored look as well, before his Lapis looked down at him, "Eh, she definitely looks like me, minus the change in clothes…it also could be another me…and that's pretty weird…"

Peridot spoke back up in a scientific tone of explanation, "Steven, you have to understand, Gem tech is quite literally all over the place, dating back to ancient history." she began to explain while pointing up with her index finger in explanation, "remember that time you told me about those misadventures you had with that time travel device? Or that cloning device, or that-"

"Ok! I get it!" Steven waved his hands through the air, "Just try and get to the point of how there can be an armada of gems that Yellow never once remembers making, much less creating that Citrine gem over there!" he asked while pointing at said gem that was in deep discussion with Yellow Diamond.

"I was getting to that Steven!" Peridot rolled her eyes, while shaming him with a wag of her finger, before continuing on, "Like I was saying, Steven, gem tech, even ancient gem tech, has heavy protocols depending on the severity of clauses it can create. From generating energy for an entire solar system of a gem colony, to creating instant teleportation from planet to planet. The Galaxy warp on Earth, isn't called a 'galaxy' warp for nothing after all." she chided.

"Huh?" Steven asked, confused a bit at it all.

"Steven." Peridot worded out with a strict tone, while crossing her arms in a tone of lecturing him, "The Galaxy warp on earth, was supposed to connect to homeworld, this was Pink diamond's first colony afterall, so it was granted the supreme authority of having a warp pad that could connect it to homeworld, that in another galaxy." She stressed out the last word.

"Oh…Oh! I get it!" Steven remarked, before speaking more, "so you're saying gem tech can have the capability to fail catastrophically?" he asked at the end.

"Hmm." Peridot made a flat expression, before shrugging, "In the simplest of terms, yes, and what you see over there, must be some accident of some epic proportions from another timeline…but that's my hypothesis of course…"

".Huh…." Steven mused as he glanced once more at the entire brigade of gems standing before Yellow Diamond at attention.

Present

"There's Homeworld." Pearl's voice broke Steven out of his pondering, abruptly ceasing him from thinking back on the past.

"Oh!" Steven said in surprise as he watched from inside the ship as one by one, the armada of ships exited warp speed with his mom's ship. "It's cracked open…" he pointed out as the ship headed down for a landing.

Steven just hoped nothing else happened while he tried to reason with White.

Chapter 32: Citrine's Elite gems

Summary:

~This Ain't no place for no Hero~

Chapter Text

"Just Remember, from here out, you all are on your own." Citrine announced from a two way holo-video call within a insertion drop ship, manned by her top gems. The commander had a stern look on her face, "ETA is five days, you are to acquire the target within that time frame, the location of the land zone has been inserted into your gems. Make sure you arrive on time." The commander instructed, before the video cut itself off.

Blue Diamond Colony p4nd024

A finished colony that was hollowed out, a mirror of what Pink diamond's world would have looked like if it succeeded, shined in blue colors to represent the Diamond that owned the former planet turned colony world.

From outer space and on the surface, an ongoing feud between elite gem factions was in progress; as this was all going on, a lone ship blipped from out of its warp in hurled itself passed a blockade of ships that attempted to halt the ship, but to no avail as the ship brushed any attacks on it from a blue shield that protected itself from enemy fire.

As the lone ship hurled through the skyline of the colony, it made a b-line for a large tower, before crashing into it, causing quite the distress from the elite and common gems below on the surface as they were in mid-fight.

Within the tower that the ship crashed into, the front of the bulkhead of the ship exploded open just as Several enemy quartz soldiers surrounded it under the orders of their superior.

From out of the crashed ship, Jasper launched herself out in a spinning ball of fury as she pinged from enemy soldier to soldier, bowling over each one while poofing them in the process, until all that was left was a Blue Agate that watched it all happen from the back with a shocked and fearful look.

Jasper stood up at her fool height to smirk at the enemy Agate that was part of the problem that the planet had.

Jasper
The perfect Quartz Soldier

While Jasper stomped over to finish the job in dispatching the agate with a punch into the jaw, the sheer impact causing said gem to simply poof from being unable to withstand the impact of Jasper's punch, from out of the ship, exited the other gems that were part of the mission with her.

An Era 2 Peridot used her limb enhancer tech to study the building they were in as she walked out, with a clear blueprint and layout of the place they were all in; Peridot walked off to fiddle with the door, and hack herself into the system of the building, "Cover me while I get this done." she asked, while she began the process of getting herself everything she could from the mainframe of the building's system.

Peridot
Era 2 Technician and Certified kindergarter
Hacker extraordinaire

The next to come out of the ship was Skinny Jasper, as she hopped out with a poleaxe in hand, and smirked over at Jasper, "Geez, leave me some, else this whole mission will be a breeze." She joked, while twirling her weapon before leaning it against her shoulder as she walked over to stand next to Peridot to keep an eye out for the technician of their special team.

Skinny Jasper
Urban Combat specialist

"I'm pretty sure she just wants to stay ahead of our little scoring game." Lapis spoke as she was the last to climb out from the crashed ship, before giving an annoyed look at Peridot. "And did you have to crash the ship so high up?" she asked with a flat look.

Lapis Lazuli
Professional in Hydrokinesis

Peridot made hum of thought, before answering Lapis, "This was the best point of interest, I studied the layout before the ship crashed, and this spot should be right where we need to be to find the target"

The nearby door that Peridot was hacking into its mainframe of, finally opened, showing an entire hallway with guards waiting for them, "....oh stars." Peridot sighed in annoyance, While Jasper smirked at the challenge while pounding her fist into her palm.

"It's about time I let off all the steam I worked up!" she announced, before launching herself into the hallway, turning herself into a whirlwind of disaster.

Skinny clicked her teeth in annoyance as she chased after her sister Jasper, "Take all the fun, why don't you." she hollered back, before disappearing into the hallway.

Peridot, removing herself from the mainframe, turned to face Lapis with an expectant look, "What about you?" she asked, while walking side by side with the elite gem.

"Meh." Lapis smiled softly while crossing her arms as the Jasper gems could be heard clearing out the hallway, "let them have their fun, all it takes for me is one whip of my water to wipe out an entire squad."

"Gee." Peridot rolled her eyes at the confident Lapis, "Way to Stay humble." she remarked.

Chapter 33: Take your energy back!

Chapter Text

"I've always had the sneaking suspicion it was you all along!" Citrine scowled as she was held in place by quartz soldiers while others held her up at spear point with destabilizers. The commander glared up at White Diamond within her chambers she had stayed within the countless centuries.

White Diamond smiled only down at Citrine, "Of course you knew it was me, little orange shine, now I shall see how you truly work from the inside!" White announced as her gem lit up, before beaming an energy shot at Citrine's gem.

Citrine grunted in discomfort, before White ceased her action and waited for her powers to take over the commander, which already did as Citrine's legs began to become gray from the bottom up.

"My Citrine! Why must you experiment on yourself like this!?"

"I can never be too careful, pearl."

As Citrine's head slackened forward while she was held by the quartz soldiers, her mouth twitched into a smug smirk, her face hidden by all. "You fell into my trap."

"...what!?" White asked in surprise.

"Pearl, we are nothing more than lines of code and circuits, all projected outwards by the gems we are made up from."

Citrine 's body began to glow orange with yellow sparks dancing across her body, before she quickly lifted her head up to manically look up at White, "Now I know it was you all along, erasing those noble's memories, none of the other diamonds!" she smugly announced as she crowed in victory, while the grayness began to have a tough time working its way up the commander's body.

White Diamond was now bewildered, "What is this, what is this you are doing!?" she demanded with a scowl.

"With the knowledge that we are an intricately advanced race of AI , all I need to do is search within myself. It's a simple matter of learning my own code!"

Citrine's body erupted with static energy that exploded outwards, causing the gems around her to poof and their gems to fall to the floor. Taking step forward, Citrine herself had her lightform begin to show circuit lines that the yellow sparks danced along. Citrine smugly smiled in pride as she took another step towards a slightly frightened White Diamond as she held aloft her hand.

"If I can understand everything about myself, I just might figure out better abilities."

"Abilities for what?"

"To win."

"Don't take a step further! I'm warning you!" White Demanded as Citrine's body pulsed with yellow and orange energy, while the grayness disappeared from the commander's legs completely.

Citrine smirked devilishly as an intricate cube of lightning erupted from out of her hand, "Here, have your energy back…by ten fold!" She yelled back with an angry look and snarl at the culprit of many of the Empire's problems.

The energy cube from Citrine's hand, exploded upwards, until it reached its zenith at the level of White's face. The entire room exploded into a glow of orange and yellow energy with lightning and thunder booming inside.

From outside White's head, the eyes lit up with orange energy, until the head exploded, leaving Citrine to the air of homeworld's capital, while White Diamond's gem fell to the floor below.
