Summary
They don’t move for what feels like hours, they don’t even talk, but Satoru finds they really don’t need to. As much as they bicker and argue, they don’t need words to communicate what they feel underneath all that feigned annoyance and not-so-feigned exasperation, they never have and never will. That’s how Satoru knows he was meant to find Megumi, to take him in and raise him as his own, no matter how challenging the first few years may have been.
Megumi is his pup and Satoru is his dad and that’s all there is to it. Their family is small and a little unstable, that much is true; life has hurt them both deeply more times than they can count, but they’ve pushed through because they weren’t made to go down without a fight.
