On enjoys watching Cale knit, the way his hands move in an even rhythm and muscle memory makes his fingers work expertly with the material, it's soothing.
She also likes to watch him as he dips into his brain, his eyes blurry, his body rocking back and forth, slow, calm, but his hands never stop.
His knitting has no real purpose, it's there to give him something to do that doesn't require too much concentration, something to occupy his body with when he can't sleep.
This one is still small, barely bigger than the palm of his hand, and she knows the circle won't stop growing until it's too big, big enough to make Cale uncomfortable.
Just as it does with his problems, even if they're working on better ways to deal with them.
