   Summary

   Hermione knew she only had moments, seconds, to escape. They would be coming and if she were still there when they arrived, she wouldn't live to see the dawn. She pulled out the map and apparated to the closest possible safe house. Intellectually she knew that they old families had been offering up their estates as safehouses. She just hadn't connected in her head that Malfoy Manor could be one of those. She had just enough time to walk through the gates before the wards were closed up tight behind her. No one else had made it through. She and Malfoy were trapped and alone, forced to wait for news from the world outside with only their thoughts and each other for company.
