“No”
“Akashi, please. You need to get out of your house once in a while”
“No.”
Akashi repeated for what felt like the 20th time. Here he was, on a Saturday evening, sitting in kenma and kuroo’s living room on the couch, trying to enjoy his 3 day weekend and tea, and all he was hearing was the couple try and convince him to go out on a blind date.
“C’mon we have plenty of friends that we could hook you up with, you just need to try it once!”
Kuroo pitched in from the kitchen.
“For the 100th time, no” Akaashi picked up his tea from the coffee table and looked over at kenma
“Why do you want me to go out and date anyway, it’s not like I’m miserable” akaashi took a sip of his tea. Kenma can only blank stare him
“Akaashi…..are you joking? You spend 40% of your time here at our house, and the other 60% at work”
Akaashi will admit that he does spend a lot of his time at his friends house, but it’s just difficult to go out and try to date. To many trivial matters to think of and to many people to have to deal with.
“Well” akaashi started “why are you bothering ME so much, what about oikawa, he’s just as single as I am”
Kenma started to open his mouth but before he could get a word in kuroo came around the couch and sat in the beanbag chair next to them
“Because our good friend toru has dated many people and doesn’t come to our house almost every weekend, and he’s got his eyes set on someone at the gym he works at. I-Iw- Chan, or something like that”
“Iwa-chan” kenma finished for him
“Yeah that!” Kuroo exclaimed
“The point is” kenma started “that you just need to start putting yourself back out there, you don’t have to like it or anything but you can’t always be couped up in your room-“
“Or our house” kuroo chirped
Kenma rolled his eyes and finished “and keeping yourself lonely and sad”
“But I have you guys” Akaashi said setting his tea down
The couple just blank stared him. Akaashi sighed and laid his back on the cushion behind him. Before anyone could say anything else akaashi’s phone buzzed, akaashi picked up his phone to see a message from Toru
:TORU (⌒▽⌒)☆:
-Hey! I know you don’t ever go on dates but can you PLEASE take Iwa-Chans roommate on a date. I am finally getting the opportunity to hang out with Iwa-chan but he doesn’t want his roommate at the apartment!!!!!!
Akaashi looked at the text and looked back at Kenma and Kuroo who were now going through their movie collection to find something to watch.
He looked back down at the text and thought for a moment. He does need to start getting out of the house more and it has more or less been becoming a habit for him going to Kenma and Kuroo’s house often, and he does want his friends to have some alone time. He sighed once more and texted Tooru that he would help him out, just give him the time, date and place.
“Well” he started “your wish came true”
Kenma and Kuroo looked back at him in confusion
“What do you mean?” Kenma said
“Tooru is setting me on a blind date with his crush’s roommate”
“That’s great Akaashi!” Kuroo exclaimed
“Yeah…” Akaashi said nervously
“Are you okay?” Kenma asked he face shifting to concern
“Yeah it’s just… I don’t know”
He paused before standing up and pacing back and forth slowly
“I just don’t know about this, I mean I don’t even know the guy and Tooru didn’t tell me anything about him”
“Well that’s why it’s called a BLIND date”
Kuroo said, Kenma eyed him and elbowed him in the side
“Ow!”
Kenma turned to Akaashi and smiled
“Akaashi it’s going to be okay, Tooru wouldn’t set you up with anyone he didn’t think you would like or anyone that would harm you, and if you do need something Kuro and I will only be a phone call away”
Akaashi slowed his pacing to a stop and relaxed and little, he sat back down on the couch and looked at Kenma and slightly smiled
“Thank you Kenma, I don’t know what I would do without you”
“Probably sitting in your own living room with even less friends” Kenma mused
“Alright, enough with the little best friend sap let’s pick a movie already”
Akaashi watched the two bicker between 2 movies and smiled, he hopes one day he can be where they are in a relationship. Until then he gets comfy in his spot on the couch and reads a new text from Tooru, with the details for his date in a week.
