Summary
Freshly rescued, finally free from the island and the remnants of Gretchen Klein’s experiment, Leah and Fatin return home and figure out what it means to go back to their normal lives. But surviving two deserted islands came with its own problems. Thrown into nation-wide fame, now school celebrities in their senior year, and with FBI agents knocking on their doors, normalcy seems to be a thing of the past.
While both girls try to get themselves and each other through the summer’s aftermath, one of them finds it harder to achieve when coming home only seems to mean trading one world of issues for another that won’t stop growing.
