Their eyes met and for a moment, there was complete silence between them. Levi was certain that Erwin was able to hear his heart pounding a tattoo against his chest. He tried to steady his breathing. Heat rushed to his face but he couldn’t find it in himself to care. Something in him yearned to reach out and hold this man. He needed Erwin so bad it hurt. And the way Erwin stared at him like he was some marvelous piece of art sent a bolt of lightning straight to Levi’s heart. Levi’s eye darted to Erwin's lips for a moment before he caught himself. Was it so wrong to want this? The cons of acting on his feelings were starting to wear thin. Just make the first move, Blondie. Can’t you feel this thing between us? They gazed breathlessly at each other, as if any movement would spell game over for this excuse of a friendship thinly veiling their attraction.
“If we hurry, we can get back before it’s too late.” Levi steeled himself with a deep breath. It was almost painful having to fight against himself like this.
“Yeah, we should probably hurry.”
