The sun was setting as Heather carefully removed her armor in the privacy of the stables. The other Dragon Riders had left after the battle, and she’d lied that she hadn’t been hurt.
But, there was blood seeping through her clothing. Hissing, Heather pressed a hand to the wound on her right hip, staining her hand with blood.
Oh, this was a lot worse than she’d thought. She’d hidden the injury for the duration of the battle and the flight back to Dragon’s Edge, but maybe hiding it wasn’t such a good idea anymore.
With a sigh and a limp, Heather left the stables to track down Astrid.
