Chapter Text
"C'mon students! Quickly!" The teacher ushered all the students out of the class, while the fire alarm blared behind them. Tommy coughed harshly into his sleeves, trying hard not to breathe in the smoke.
Everything felt so hot. Fire was spreading fast, and all the other students were tripping over their own feet trying to escape. Tommy blinked away his tears, trying hard to focus and not panic.
14 years of life, and it could as well end today.
"No." Tommy thought to himself. "I refused to die in this fucking place"
If he's gonna die, he refuses to die in a school of all places.
"WATCH OUT-!" A yell. Tommy snapped back, just in time to see a massive piece debris falling.
Falling on him.
Tommy's eyes widened. Times seemed to slow down, even though it was not possible.
In that moment, his life flashed before his eyes. Which sounded dramatic, but honestly that's what happened.
"Well, this is the end," He thought.
He lived a good life, he thought.
"TOMS-" A panicked shout.
The last thing Tommy saw was a pair of wide magenta eyes.
A small blond boy kneeled in front of a slightly ajar door. With a stuffed toy in his hand, he listened closely and quietly.
'Tick, tick.'
Tommy looked up at the clock above the door. 12 o'clock. The blond smiled.
A beat. And then the soft tune of a guitar started playing. A couple of seconds were filled with the gentle strumming of a guitar, before a violin followed.
Tommy closed his eyes. This song- it was always this song that his older brothers and him played. It became some sort of a comfort music for the three of them, after anything bad happened.
Well, it used to be the three of them, anyway.
The song has a playful tone in it, and yet there's a sad underlying tone beneath. The sound of the guitar and violin matched each other perfectly. Gathering his courage, Tommy decided to take a peek inside.
There, in the dark music room, were his brothers. The moonlight somehow shoned perfectly on them, giving both Wilbur and Techno a certain majestic glow.
Wilbur was sitting on the piano chair, playing his guitar. Techno stood beside the piano, close enough to Wilbur, with his eyes closed and violin in hand. They looked perfect.
The perfect twins. The perfect children.
Tommy's smile dimmed a little.
"Tommy- Toms! Toms please wake up..I can't lose-" A choked sob. Someone was crying.
Groaning, Tommy opened his eyes. At first all he could see was a blob of purple, but as his eyes adjusted, his eyes widened as he realised who was holding him.
"Purps- Purpled??" Tommy fell into a coughing fit.
"Tommy!" Purpled tightened his grip around the other blond. "Are you okay? Can you stand?"
Tommy tried getting up, before falling back onto Purpled's lap.
"Fucking shit-" More coughing. "My leg fuckin' hurts-" Tommy grimaced, trying to ignore the pain in his left leg.
"Okay that's a no- shit okay. Uhh hold on" Slowly, Purpled sling Tommy's arm over his shoulder, before standing up.
And both of them fell back down, with a string of curses from both of them.
"WHAT THE FUCK- MY FUCKING LEG" Tommy yelled out.
"OW DON'T FUCKING YELL IN MY EAR" Purpled yelled back, before promptly shutting up. Seconds later, debris fell right outside the abandoned classroom.
Not wasting anymore time, Purpled picked Tommy up in a bridal style, ignoring the other blond's angry shouts.
"Purpled, my man, my dude, put mE DOWN-" Tommy shut his mouth when he heard what sounded to be more debris falling.
"Look if we want to get out of here, like it or not I'm gonna have to carry you" Purpled walked towards the door. "Now open the goddamn door"
Begrudgingly, Tommy opened the door for both of them.
Only to be met with flames of fire.
"close the door CLOSE THE FUCKIN DOOR" Purpled shouted.
Tommy hurriedly shut the door back, almost falling out of Purpled's hold, before the ashen blond pulled both of them to the back of the room.
"Great now what are we gonna fucking do?" Tommy grumbled. Purpled sighed and sat down, still holding onto Tommy.
The room fell silent. Distantly, Tommy could hear the sounds of sirens from the firefighters and police, but both of them knew that no ladders could reach them. They're on the 5th floor for fucks sake.
"Well, I guess we're gonna die." Purpled said bluntly. Tommy half-heartedly smacked the ashen blond's face.
"No we're not"
"Yes we will Toms"
"I refuse to die in a school of all places"
"Well me too but it seems like the universe hates us"
Silence once again. Before both of them started laughing.
It's like they're back in the old days, when they were still in elementary school. Still young, still friends.
Without thinking, Tommy hugged Purpled. "Thanks for everything." He simply said. Tommy could feel the fire getting closer to them. Hell, the door is literally burning down right now.
Any moment, before the flames engulfed them both.
Surprisingly, Purpled hugged back.
It's been 3 years since they last talked to each other properly.
If this is how he's gonna die, in Purpled's arms, well, he doesn't mind it very much.
