Summary
Callis is an 'aberrant', classified by the church as a person who lives in perpetual sin because of the nature of their bodies. In Callis's case, his body's sexual organs are more prominent than they should be, marking him as socially unfit. So far, he has lived under the strict care of Abbot Harlow, who has overseen Callis's ongoing repentance.
