Work Text:
Had you told Amanda Young she’d find her very own Cinderella moment with someone like Allison Kerry, she would have laughed. She would have been very wrong to laugh. Amanda’s eyes even now focus on Allison, her Allison, so smart, so stubbornly hard working and so very alone.
The woman’s eyes find hers moments after she takes out Amanda’s camera, the pig mask is supposed to keep Allison knowing who it is, but Allison breathes her name all the same and Amanda almost stops. She does, in the end, freeze when the trap is set. It’s wrong, she knows, to care so much, but she waits until her colleague is gone, helping her mentor set the rest of his traps, then frees Allison.
Allison wakes when she is carrying her out to the car and she’s quick to bundle her inside, shutting her in before coming around the car to slip into the driver’s seat. Allison had so nearly been lost but as she drove, she found herself mulling over why she was so drawn to Allison.
“Hey, Allison… ever heard of a Cinderella moment?”
Allison scoffs, shakes her head and looks out the window.
“Never thought about it… who’d ever want…”
“I do.”
Amanda cuts her off so quickly, so quietly, that Allison’s head turns too quickly, Allison groaning softly and closing her eyes for a moment before speaking.
“So… does that make me Prince Charming?”
“If you like.”
Amanda shrugs.
“You did see me when… nobody else had.”
