Children born of one emotion/Our devotion's deepest ocean (probably a temp. title)

Summary:

(Title - Dream Sweet in Sea Major, by: Miracle Musical)

Harry, abandoned one fateful day at the pizzaplex, is adopted by Sun, Moon, and a muggleborn wix named Avery.

Chapter Text

Harry Potter was all of seven and a half when the Dursleys abandoned him at the Pizzaplex. Although Harry didn’t know it at the moment, this would lead to a marked increase in his quality of life.

– - –

Sun was…concerned for Harry. The child had already exhibited worrying behaviors, and now it had been fifteen minutes since the last child besides Harry had been picked up and the boy's guardians still weren’t here.

‘Sun?’ Moon spoke in their shared headspace.

‘Yeah Moon, I’m worried too. Do you remember what happened earlier? The poor kid seemed so confused when I told him he could play instead of helping to clean.’

‘You should probably go talk to the kid. Try and find out more.’

‘Good idea. I just didn’t want to…’ he trailed off, knowing Moon would understand. Some children found animatronics…strange. “Hello Harry! What are you drawing?”

“Spiders.”

“Cool! Do you know any interesting facts about them?”

“No…they’re my friends though.” Then, quieter. “My only friends.” Sun knew better than to push there.

“Your guardians still aren’t here.” Sun noted, unsure of what else to say.

“Maybe they abandoned me like they always said they wanted to.” Harry said, tone neutral, not looking up from his drawing. And, well, that was beyond concerning. That was an outright statement of mistreatment.

“Do they say other mean things to you? Or hurt you in other ways?” sun asked cautiously, trying not to scare the child away.

“They always say I’m a freak, and even though they’re right I still think it’s mean. And they let Dudley beat me up a lot. And sometimes they hit me when I mess up my chores. And they don’t feed me much, even though they give Dudley so much food he looks like a whale.” Sun desperately wanted to scream like Moon was, but held himself together, for once grateful for his unmoving face.

“What chores do you have to do?” He needed as much evidence as he could.

‘Um, I have to do all the cleaning, and the gardening, and I have to cook most meals.” Sun wished he had the ability to take a calming breath.

“Have you told anyone else about this?”

“Um, I told a teacher once but he stopped teaching us a couple days later.”

‘Oh. Oh dear. Moon, what do I do?! What if we report this and nothing comes of it and Harry just gets hurt more?’

‘I…have an idea but I’m not sure you’ll like it.’

‘...What is it?’

‘We don’t tell anyone, and we just keep him here. We just offer to let him stay with us at the Pizzaplex. I’m sure Avery will be willing to help us get things for him we can’t get ourselves.’

‘...I don’t actually hate that as much as I thought I would. I’ll offer.’ Sun gathered himself and spoke. “Harry. What you’ve told me is very concerning. So, I’d like to make you an offer. How would you like to stay here with Moon and I in the Pizzaplex? You’ll have to be very quiet and sneaky since you aren’t supposed to be here after the Pizzaplex closes, but if no one else can help, then we will.” Harry stared at him with something close to awe.

“Really? I can really really stay with you? I promise I’ll be really helpful and-”

“Harry. You don’t need to be helpful to stay. You’re a child, all we want is to give you somewhere you can be happy.”

“Really? Is Moon okay with this?”

“They were actually the one who suggested it!” Sun replied.

“Then…yes. I’d love to stay with you two!”

Moon made it look like the security feed glitched out as they took Harry up to their room. Moon not only pulled this trick occasionally, but it happened on its own sometimes too, so there was nothing to worry about in terms of anyone catching on solely from that. Later, once Harry was asleep, they set off to find Avery.

– - –

Avery was having a normal day. Was . Moon had just dropped down from the ceiling, and while normally this would be a good thing, as the two were friends, they were concerned as Moon was leading them to a security camera blind spot the pair had found some time ago.

“What’s this about? You only come here when it’s truly serious. Normally you don’t care much.”

“Sun and I may have stolen a child.” Moon said in such perfect deadpan that it took a second for the words to catch up to them.

“What?!” they whisper-shouted.

“In our defense, he was being abused, and the one and only time someone tried to help the guy stopped teaching Harry a few days later.”

“Oh. Dear. Might I ask why you’re telling me this?”

“...We trust you. Also we need someone who can get things we can’t from outside the Pizzaplex, but even then, we came to you specifically for a reason, the same reason you’re our only friend.”

“Okay. Okay. Yeah, sure, I can help. What’s the kid's full name anyway, just in case a missing child report’s filed?”

“Harry Potter.” Avery barely held back their shock. Fuck. FUCK. This was Not Good, with capitals included. See, Avery was a rare muggleborn who split their time between worlds. They had a job in both the wixen world and the muggle one. This wouldn’t be particularly relevant if it weren’t for the fact that this meant that Avery was fully aware of what Harry meant to the wixen world. They must not have done as good a job as they thought, however, as Moon's faceplate rotated slightly, in their equivalent of a head tilt. They took a deep breath.

“Shit. Look, I need some time to think. Not about helping Harry, I’ll definitely help with that, but there’s something I should tell you, but if anyone finds out I told you I’ll be in big trouble, like, jail time trouble. Listen, I’m going to go home and think it over, and I’ll get back to you tomorrow.” Moon nodded.

“Okay. Thank you for agreeing to help.”
