Work Text:

A normal day in Megapolis started out typical for a city that, for some reason, demons loved to attack, with just such an attack. Irritated by the sudden outburst that interrupted his duel with Mei in the video game, Mk rushed to the center of the commotion.

“Monkie Kid, here we are!” the hero was immediately greeted by the joyful screams of two quite familiar demons.

“Jin!” the orange demon shouted proudly.

“I Yin!” his brother also shouted and introduced himself.

“Golden and Silver Demons!” Jin added.

“Silver and gold, I repeat!” his blue twin pointed out.

“Really, you guys again? Isn't this like the sixth time this month?” Mk asked resignedly when he saw them, apart from informing them that he already knew their names.

"Yes! But this time we have something you won't expect!" Jin stated sneakily.

“We have a secret weapon that, if used, will change your life.” Yin added in a terrifying tone, to which Mk only adjusted his grip on the staff.

“Then show me what you got!” he challenged the twins, the hero.

“Gold and Silver Demon's Super-Secret Weapon!” the twins shouted in unison, then fell on their knees before Mk, folding their hands as if in prayer. “We are begging for your help!”

"What?!" Mk asked, trying to find the meaning behind their actions, but he didn't understand anything.

“We are asking for your help, great Monkie Kid!” the blue demon began to bow.

“You are our only hope!” Jin added.

"But what's the matter?" Mk asked, scratching his head.

“For our most secret weapon - our sister!” Yin explained.

“It's her birthday soon and we lost our entire gift budget.” the orange demon cried.

“If you are counting on a loan, I must disappoint you immediately. I don't have much myself.” the embarrassed boy confessed.

"No no no!" the silver demon shook his head immediately.

"There is a rumor that the Great Monkie Kid knows The Six-Eared Macaque and is on good terms with him." said the golden demon.

“Okay, so what about this?” the confused hero asked further.

“Our sister loves his shows, all his plays. And since you know him, we thought maybe you could arrange a private performance for her?” Jin asked, shifting from one foot to the other.

“Of course not for free! Since it's quite important, we would reciprocate with something similar!” the blue demon interjected.

“No attacks on pre-arranged dates! No matter the reason, whether it's a birthday, a date or a bad time. Just let us know and we will not only stop causing chaos, but we will also try to stop others!” Jin nodded.

“Oh.” Mk only replied, not knowing how to react.

On the one hand, peace from the twins would be pleasant and useful, but on the other hand, he would have to ask Macaque for a favor, and this meant putting up with his ambiguous behavior and drama. However, the desire for peace was slowly beginning to win over the moment of irritation that the monkey demon was sure to cause, so Mk sighed heavily, preparing for the confrontation with the shadow master.

“What kind of performance are you looking for?” the hero asked, and the demons regained their energy with new hope.

“Maybe some romance or an old mysterious legend.” Yin said happily, almost jumping in place.

“And that it would be a show just for her with the opportunity to get an autograph from Six-eared Macaque.” Jin added.

“Okay, I'll see what I can do and I'll try to let you know tomorrow.” Mk nodded at them goodbye and headed towards the dojo of his dramatic mentor.

He was greeted by the silence typical of the outskirts of the city, worshiped by a black-haired monkey. The shadow master told him that it was due to his sensitive hearing and general dislike for people. The only exception was his depictions, and Mk, commented on the superiority complex of ape. As punishment, he was teleported to Australia without knowing how to get back, and before Wukong found him, the boy came close to death more than a dozen times.

“Macaque?” Mk exclaimed, entering the building and, to his surprise, finding his nervous mentor trying to jump out of the window, being pushed by the shadow master. “Monkie King? What are you doing here?"

“Um... I'm helping Macaque.” Wukong said uncertainly and the monkey in question from behind punched himself in the face.

"In what?" the boy asked suspiciously.

“Uh… cleaning?” Monkie King asked.

“Are you asking me? Seriously, what are you doing here?” Mk repeated, raising an eyebrow.

“Your turn, I tried.” Wukong said to the black demon.

“You call that trying?! The only thing you could have done worse was to just admit that we were dating.” Macaque growled.

“You what?!” the hero shouted in surprise.

“So I didn't do too badly after all.” Wukong laughed awkwardly.

"Shut up." the second demon hissed.

“You guys are together?!” the scream of the shocked boy knocked the two monkeys out of the beginning quarrel.

“Sort of.” admitted six ears.

“What do you mean, sort of?!” Sun Wukong growled, then turned to the student in confusion. "Is it bothering you?"

“Monkie King, but you know that Tang and Pigsy raised me, right?” Mk asked, looking a little indulgently at his mentor.

“I know something, but I don't know what it has to do with anything.” admitted the great sage equal to the heavens.

“They've been married for fifteen years. I carried their wedding rings and at the same time I was responsible for throwing flowers.” Mk announced in complete seriousness.

“Oh... That actually explains a lot.” Wukong replied sheepishly, scratching his head.

"Idiot." Macaque hissed in amusement.

“And you supposedly knew that?” Wukong asked further embarrassed.

"Yes. Macaque and Tang regularly go out gossiping over coffee with Princess Iron Fan.” answered for the demon, Mk.

“And how do you know that?” asked the six-eared.

“Tang told me when I caught him going out once.” replied the young hero.

“So everything's fine?” Wukong asked naively.

“I'm a little disappointed you didn't tell me earlier.” Mk confessed, wrapping his arms around himself.

“Hey, we'll make it up to you somehow, kid.” Macaque promised and the boy was about to reject the offer when he remembered something.

“Actually, that's one thing... Plus, of course, I have a lot of questions.” said the hero.

“Of course, Kid.” Wukong laughed, hugging his student.

A week later, Mk was waiting for the demon twins outside the shadow master's theater, texting on his phone with Red Son and Mei, gossiping about both of his mentors.

“Come a little further!” the young hero heard Yin's cheerful voice.

“I don't know what you two are planning, but you call me old or your secret weapon one more time and I will murder you.” growled the purple demoness who was blindfolded with a red blindfold, at the initiative of the problematic twins.

“Trust me, you'll like it.” Jin replied, waving at Monkie Kid.

“Hey, everything is ready, just as I wrote.” greeted the young hero with the three demons.

“What did you guys do?” asked the sister of the gold and silver demon, recognizing the voice of the monkey king's successor.

“They asked me for a favor. Happy birthday, by the way.” Mk replied as Yin removed the woman's blindfold.

"Surprise!" both demons screamed, handing her a ticket designed by Monkie Kid.

"What?" asked the surprised purple demoness, who only after a moment recognized the area around her.

“With the help of the great Monkie Kid, we managed to organize a private show for you as a gift.” Jin smiled.

“I have no words for you.” the demoness said quietly, watching the brothers with something akin to tenderness in her eyes, which she tried to hide by adjusting her glasses.

“Yet you can lecture us for hours.” the golden demon muttered to his brother, making him laugh.

“Well, Macaque is probably ready, so I'll be on my way…” Mk began when he was interrupted by the demon's attack. However, nothing happened to him, except that he was suddenly hugged by the purple demoness, along with the twins.

"Thank you." the woman whispered, after a moment letting go and straightening her outfit.

"You're welcome?" replied Mk uncertainly.

“It will never happen again, and you are to forget everything, okay?” the demoness asked and then went inside for her private show.

“Don't worry, she's weird.” Yin shrugged. “We would like to invite you for cheese tea as a thank you, there is a good stand nearby and we will set it up.”

“Okay.” agreed the hero, not minding the free tea. Even if it turned out to be cursed.

“And speaking of weirdness, how did you manage to organize it?” Jin asked curiously, waving his hand towards the theater.

“Well... You're not the only ones with a secret weapon.” Mk laughed, and the twins just exchanged confused glances, deciding not to pursue the topic, heading off to buy some tea while they waited for the show to end.
