Work Text:
Debris rained from the sky. The explosion was loud. Too loud. Jinx blinked as the Piltover Council exploded in bright hues of red, orange and yellow.
She killed Silco.
She needed to get away.
Sparing one glance behind her— (Vi was there, her sister was there, she wanted to be held by her sister again—) Jinx ran.
She didn't know where she was going, she just ran. Away. Away. Away. Far away, she needed to go. She didn't know where.
Because no one would want her with them. Because she killed the person who took care of her after Vi left. Because Vi betrayed her and was hanging around an enforcer. Because Vi probably hated her—
Jinx missed her sister.
She missed Silco. She missed Milo. She missed Claggor. She missed Vander. She missed Vi.
Jinx doesn't know when she stopped running. She doesn't know when her legs gave out. Everything was too loud and too bright, her hands her over her ears, eyes squeezed shut as she sobbed.
It was never quiet. She'd gotten used to it. But now it was too loud, even for her.
And she was alone. She'd felt alone before. Even when Silco was alive.
But now she was actually alone.
With no one. Nobody to love her, because everyone that loved Jinx either didn't anymore or was fucking dead.
She embraced being "a jinx" all those years ago.
Now she hated herself for it. She always fucked everything up. It was in her nature. She couldn't escape it. She wished she could.
Because then, Jinx would have Vi back, she'd have Vander, Claggor and Milo back, she'd have her parents back, she'd have Silco back.
Jinx just wanted to be held by someone.
Jinx just wanted to be loved.
But a jinx could never be loved. Or cared for, or seen as anything but that.
A jinx.
That's all she was, that's all she ever would be.
She couldn't escape, she could never escape.
