Work Text:

Percy was digging through all his clothes to find his new, favorite hoodie. He had spent a long time picking out that one because it had to have a great design on the front, it had to be soft and warm on the inside, and the color had to be the perfect storm cloud gray that reminded him of Annabeth. He bought it last month, but now that it was finally cold enough to wear it, Percy couldn’t seem to find it.

He searched again all through the apartment he shared with Annabeth. I wasn’t behind the couch or under the bed, wasn’t in any of the closets or the dresser, Percy went as far to even check the kitchen cabinets. His perfect hoodie had disappeared before Percy even had the chance to wear it.

He looked at the clock and realized he would have to leave without it. Percy was meeting up with Grover and Annabeth for lunch at 1:00, after her class let out. It was 1:05, and he knew he should just leave.

He decided even though it was cold, the weather was nice enough, and the distance was short enough, that he could walk to the restaurant. Just as he left the building, a horrible wind picked up, and a shiver ran through him. Curse Zeus, he thought, my hoodie would have been perfect for this

Percy walked into the small café, using his powers to dry his clothes as he made his way to the back where their favorite booth was. He smiled because he could already hear them laughing about something.

Gover stood up to wrap him in a tight hug once Percy reached them, “It’s good to see you, man.” said Grover.

“We need to do this more often,” Percy insisted, before they finally let go of each other. When he sat, he was so excited to see they had already ordered him a blue raspberry lemonade that he almost didn’t notice what Annabeth was wearing. Almost.

He turned to her, but she was so into her conversation with Grover about recycling systems that she didn’t notice. Annabeth was definitely wearing his new hoodie. When he wrapped his arm around her shoulders he could feel how soft and warm it was, he knew the gray perfectly matched her eyes without having to check, and even though he couldn’t see it, Percy was sure the front was printed with insanely cool skateboards.

He wanted to be annoyed, but she looked so beautiful in his hoodie with her stunning dark eyes, long braids, and gold jewelry. Although, maybe Annabeth was just beautiful, and she happened to be wearing his hoodie.

He smiled, placed a kiss on her temple, and joined the conversation. He really didn’t mind if she kept wearing his clothes.
