By the time they hit Richmond the sickly Virginia heat had crept in, wet and heavy, and his back was becoming one with the leather seat. Even Scully, who in his mind was the human equivalent of a cool Spring breeze, was looking—well, with her sweat-flecked hair and her eyes hooded against the morning sun, she looked just fine to him.
A humid weekend in Southern Virginia and a case that’s going nowhere fast. They edge closer to one another, for want of anything else to do.

Summary
They hadn’t talked about it. They’d talked about murder, about faith, about how early the Christmas music came on this year. Never, until she’d asked if they should share a car because her mother’s street was so narrow, had Scully reminded him of the invitation. Now it was December twenty-fourth; wise men everywhere were setting out. The sky was starless, though, so he just followed her tail lights.
Mulder has come through years of monster attacks and murder scenes; Scully, blazerless and relaxed on her mother's couch Christmas morning, might be the thing to do him in.
