Summary
Jimmy enters a real, romantic relationship with Ms. Philips. At first, it seems like a dream come true, but the situation slowly gets a bit more complicated and he is not quite sure what to do.

Bookmark Notes:
As a victim of grooming, I can for sure say this fic represents victims very well. I’ve never seen fics like this on Ao3 (ones that bother to explore the victim’s mindset and experience without fetishizing the nightmare that is CSA) and I wish there were more authors like this out there who’d do so.
Ch.6 has one of the best imagery I’ve ever seen described. It really dug far into Jimmy’s mental state without actually just… telling the reader that he’s clearly losing his mind. It displays his adversion to admit being vulnerable to himself very well. From there on, I feel like Jimmy’s characterization is at it’s most accurate — the fact that he resorted to such a juvenile way to solve his issue makes a lot of sense, and only hammers down that he is just a child and cannot comprehend how such an experience could have changed him.
I fear the start of this story was a little shakey in terms of building up the foundation, but it’s not something a few adjustments can’t fix. Incredible fic, definitely recommend.
